One of my toolbars is complete black and taking up space.

there is a blank black space between my toolbars that extends from one side of the screen to the other. It has a white 'leggo' looking shape in the middle of the bar but the rest is blank. I click on it and nothing happens. I want it removed as it's annoying and taking away space from my screen working area. It showed up when I installed Mozilla Firefox.

Issues with a black (empty) toolbar can be caused by a plugin or an extension that is not compatible with Firefox 3.6 and isn't working properly anymore.<br />

When I open firefox, nothing shows up but an empty browser. The web area is completely black and if I right click to open up the little menu, that is also black. The top of the browser is empty and none of the menu buttons appear, none of my bookmarks appear, and none of the search bars or anything appear. hello, other users with this problem all had an embedded intel hd graphics card with an old driver present. in case this also applies to you, here would be a link to update the driver, which in turn should also address the black firefox problem.

in case this doesn't solve the issue or does not apply to your system, start firefox into safemode '''by pressing the shift key while the application is launching''' & disable hardware acceleration in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > general'' (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

Apple won't replace an iPhone under warranty if the iPhone has been opened/tinkered with by you or by a 3rd party, but they may under Apple's out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price.
There is only one way to find out for certain.

I just downloaded the recent Maverick Software Update onto my Macbook Pro 15" and when the download/reset finished, my screen was completely black and I have not been able to get it back since. Help?

My computer had been wanting to do a software update, with what I believe was the Mavericks Software, for a few weeks but I had been putting it off. When I finally decided to install the update onto my Macbook Pro 15" today, my screen went completely black and I haven't been able to get it back since. The computer still turns on, I can tell because my caps lock key still glows when I press it and my volume buttons still make sounds when I press them. However, I cannot see anything on the screen. I don't even get the grey start up screen when I reset my computer. I have tried the SafeMode Restart where you hold Shift while it is restarting and the Display Reset in which you hold Command + Option (alt) + R + P until you hear the start up noise twice, and neither have worked. Any other advice on what I can do to get my screen back without having to send my computer away to be fixed?

Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you see a solid color screen (black, white or blue)
Plug in your device to a power source. If you see the low-battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
Reset your device while it's plugged in.
If resetting doesn’t fix the issue, restore your device.
If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.

I dropped my iPhone 5 and the screen is completely black and when i plug it into my computer it constantly beeps. When I call it it doesn't go straight to voicemail but my phone doesn't ring. Rebooting it doesn't work. What is the problem?

If you don't know whether you have AppleCare+, you can find out warranty information by entering the serial number at http://selfsolve.apple.com. The serial number can be found under Settings > General > About > Serial Number, if you are still able to use the phone. If not, eject the SIM card tray from the right side of the phone using a paper clip or SIM unlock tool. It is in very tiny print on the rim of the tray.
You cannot purchase AppleCare+ if it's been after 30 days or the phone has already been damaged like yours.

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. I opened up youTube using a shortcut from the Cocoppa app last night, and the screen froze, my home button would not work, so I locked it. The phone was charging at the time and nowhere near dead. After I did so, I pressed the lock and the home button [ not at the same time ] and the screen would not light up at all, it remained completely black. So, I unplugged it and plugged it back into the charger and it made the little sound it does when you do so, that told me it was not dead, and had not turned off. I held the lock button down to turn it off and swiped where the "slide to shut down" bar would normally be if my screen actually worked. It did nothing. My phone screen does not work at all now, even though it makes sounds such as Siri's little pinging noise when you hold down the home button. I am thoroughly confused and urgently need help to solve this problem.

PSC 1510 All in one printer - won't print even black and white when colour cartridge not recognised

My PSC 1510 All in one printer is flashing the "check printer cartrige icon" and both "Black" and "Colour" icons at the bottom left of the printer.
It won't print at all, even when I select grayscale (black and white). The help pages tell me that if I remove the colour cartridge the printer will switch to backup mode and I'll still be able to print in black and white (though not copy or scan). But this is not the case, and I can find no way of switching manually to backup mode. The help pages have no useful explanation of backup mode. I've also tried cleaning the cartridge (which I'm pretty sure isn't empty) but that makes no difference.
Can anyone help? I'd be very grateful.

With only one cartridge light blinking I would suspect the cartridge, they do rarely fail (much more often for reman cartridges, see here). Clean the cartridge contascts as shown here. If that fails and the cartridge is an original HP then check the warranty date as shown here. If the cartridge is in warranty return it to your dealer for a warranty replacement.
The printer will automatically switch to backup mode if the black (or color in some printers) cartridge is removed. I do not know if this works with the PSC 1510, some all-in-on devices insist on having both cartridges present.

I have an ipod touch 2nd generation. I had it connected to an aux cord, playing music, and on the charger and then it turned off. The ipod felt hot right by the charger port. The screen is completely black. I tried holding down the sleep and home buttons, charging the ipod for a very long time on my laptop in all the usb ports and in the outlet in the wall. The ipod just stays black. It doesn't say if it's charging and when I plug it into my laptop, it doesn't show up on itunes or my computer. Please help!!!

My i phone 4 screen went completely black and screen will not work but i can screenshot and other buttons vibrate and make a sound the screen just dosent respond.

Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

I had my iphone connected to my mac and I didnt realize that it was syncing... I then pressed the home and sleep (on/off) button simultaneously and the phone went completely black..and has stayed that way!! I tried pressing the home button... then the on button and It never turned on, I dont know what to do!! help!!

1. If it was syncing you can slide the slider to cancel the sync.
2. Was it definitely fully charged before? If not charge for a few hours then try turning it on.
3. Try holding the Home key and docking it with the Mac at the same time. Continue to hold the Home key and see if it will recognize it.
4. If none of the above work try calling 1-800-MyiPhon
