OVA8 (about credit control) - "Highest dunning level"

At OVA8 (about credit control) we have "highest dunning level". I can read the explanation below but I couldn't understand why "highest dunning level" stands for. Can anyone explain me?
Credit check against highest dunning level allowed
Indicates whether the system carries out a credit check based on the highest dunning level.
Use
With this type of credit check, you specify the highest dunning level you want to allow in the adjacent field. The dunning level is tracked and stored in the credit data in the customer master record. If this level is exceeded during order or delivery processing, the system carries out a credit check.

Dear Yasar,
Dunning is the reminder which we send to the customers regarding the due payment.
Please check with your FI team to learn more about Dunning.
If Highest Dunning level in OVA8 is set as 2, then the system will block the sales order if we have any due payment from the customer for the open items for which we have already sent 2 reminders.
I donot know how to configure Dunning. Your FI team members can help you in resolving this.
Hope my answers can help you upto some extent.
Thank you

  • Highest dunning level on customer master

    Hello All,
I am facing an issue where the customer is having the highest dunning level 9 on the overdue item.
Then the customer makes payment for all open invoices but the dunning level on the customer master remains 9. Because the dunning level is the highest, all sales orders are blocked and need to be released manually.
Is there any standard SAP program to update the customer master dunning level if the customer has paid off all overdue item and is having a account balance zero or credit.
Thanks very much for any help in advance.
Points will be assigned to any helpful answer.
    Anish Mathew

    Hi,
There is no standard program to update the dunning level back to zero in case of payment.
You need to update the customer master via XD99, if needed in mass change. Otherwise use FD02.

  • Credit Control at Delivery Level

    Hi All SD Gurus,
We have a situation where the customers are creating Sales Orders thru access provided online via the internet.
We want to set up Credit Control at Delivery level so that in case the credit limit is exceeded the system should stop the Delivery if the Credit limit is exceeded.
We are combining the Delivery, i.e a Single Delivery is created for multiple Sales Orders.
Is it possible for the system to be configured to allow delivery of those items in the sales order sequentially till the credit limit is exhausted, e.g.if the pending Orders are for 25 Lacs and the credit limit for the customer is 15 lacs and when we run the delivery thru VL10A the system should deliver sales orders upto a value of 15 Lacs sequentially.
If this is possible please explain how this can be achieved where we are combining the Delivery.
    Regards
    Rajkumar

If you want control at delivery level you do these setting allong with other creditmanage ment configuration settings.
    SPRO>Sales and Distribution>Basic functions>Credit management/Risk management>Creditmanagement-->Define credit groups(02and 03 are the standard groups for
    Delivery and PGI)
-->Assign checking group to sales order or delivery , here you click on credit limit for delivery types here you assign the credit group 02 or 03 to your delivery type.
-->Define the automatic Cradit control with these combinations
    Creadit control areaRisk categoryCredit group(02or03).
-->Maintain the credit limit in FD32.
Now you do the transactions, system will check the crdit at delivery level.

why all open items got 1 st level in dunning list
please suggest it is  priority issue
i will give more points for good and fast reply

    - possible causes
In the Customizing settings for dunning (company code data), 'Dunn. by dunning level' is selected and for the output of the dunning notices, sorting in descending order according to dunning level is set (Sort field -> Dunning notice header).
    Or:
The highest dunning level of the dunning notice was changed by correcting the dunning levels of the items after the dunning run.
    Or:
In the customer/vendor master record, a key is specified for dunning grouping.

  • OVA8 - Automatic credit control

    Dear All,
Please let me know the usage of  Max open item % and No of days in Open items . ( T-Code - OVA8)
    Regards,
    Prashant

Max % of overdue open items has got to do with the number of open items.
These 2 fields are used in tandem.
    So if the values are:
    Max % of open item = 50%
    No. days open = 60.
This means that the number of open items that are overdue by 60 days should not exceed 50% of the total open items.
So suppose if total open items = 100.
SO you can have only 50(50%) open items that are overdue by more than 60 days.
    Hope this helps.

There are basically two types of customers:
    1)Credit worthy
    2)Normal customers
Coming to credit worthy customers these customers we can believe and we will give some credit ness for them. For such a type of customers we are going to set them some credit limit.Based on that we will give service to them till that limit. It the limit crosses we will get the messages while creating orders for them.
Their credit limit can be set in FD32 T.Code.
Automatic credit check will be maintained in OVA8
    Follow these steps:
    1. Go to IMG - enterprise structure - definition - financial accounting - define credit control area.
    2. Assignment of company code to credit control area & sales area to credit control area.
    3. Go to OVAK select ur sales document type and in the check credit column choose from A B or C. D is for automatic credit control for which you have to maintain the credit group and risk categories.
    4. In FD32 you select your customer and click on STATUS icon and press enter. here u maintain the credit amount allowed. but this is done by the Finance people.
    5. Now when you create the sales order and if the amount exceeds the credit limit then u will get the message as you maintained in the TC OVAK.  Normally the system starts doing credit checks from the second sales.

What are the different types of credit checks?
    By Sunilmadho
    Credit Check can be :
    1) Simple Credit Check
    2) Automatic Credit Control
Automatic Credit Control can be at various levels :
    1) Order
    2) Delivery
    3) Goods Issue
Automatic Credit Check is of many types :
    1) Static
    2) Dynamic
    3) MaximumDocument Value
    4) Maximum Open Items in percentage
    5) Oldest Open Item in number of days
    6) Crtitical fields change
    7) Highest dunning level, etc.
    You can create more.
Credit Check happens only in SD module, never in FI. Because the stage of the check is in the sales cycle, which exists in SD. FI guys will check the credit master sheets of the customer, the MIS, the analysis etc, review the credit limits of customers. But the check will happen only in SD, while creating order, delivery or doing the goods issue.

The master record stores the highest dunning level that has been

If an account receives several dunning notices (e.g. in the case

  • Credit Control Area - SAP ISU FICA or SAP Finance (ERP) ???

    Hello Experts,
I was reading about credit control area which is basically - organizational unit that represents an area responsible for granting and monitoring credit. One control area can corresponds to many company code (though vice versa is not true).
So my question is, in term of work order planning should I consider Credit Control Area as a part of SAP Finance (ERP) or SAP - ISU?
Please let me know best reason to put it into any side. I want this information for planning purpose. Kind of vague question, my apologies for that.
    Thanks.

Yes, you will be dealing with new transactions and with a different customizing, for example:
    Functional:
Financial Supply Chain Management ->Credit Management->Rule for Scoring and Credit Limit Calculation and Check Rule
    Customizing:
Financial Supply Chain Management->Credit Management->Credit Risk Monitoring
FSCM Credit management is far more complete functionality than AR Credit management.

    1 line item- level 2
    2 line item-level 3
    3 line item-level1
Now my client is asking to  run dunning level 3 for customer of 3rd line item.
How can i run the 3rd level for this situation?
Is the changes related to document level or master data level?
It is not possible to change the dunning level in customer master because system showing the highest dunned level (3rd) in master record.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
The changes what you are mentioned is related to document level.
Is there any implication in customer master ?

  • Get credit memos to print on Dunning Level - All Print layout

    Greetings,
I am wondering why credit memos do not show on the dunning level - all print layout.  If I click on the edit icon it lists credit memos within here and it looks like they should print, yet when I run the wizard and I have a customer with a credit memo on their account it does not show on the statement printout.  Any ideas?
The only clue is on the dunning recommendation report all outstanding invoices get flagged to dunning level 1 whereas the credit memo stays at level 0.
Thanks for any help you can give.
    Aaron

The reason behind - might be an outstanding functions need to be developed later or a bug.  Only if the link is there, you may print them out.  This is a fixed PLD that you don't have any controls.
    Thanks,
    Gordon
