Percentage calculation in report painter

Friends,
How do we calculate percentage in report painter. I know we can do it using a formula. But when i give the formula as ex: A/B it is giving it as Zero. Do i need to do anything else? A is a subtotal of some accounts and B is a subtotal is some accounts.

select the column
go to formatting--> columns
in decimal places put 0.00
This will give u decimals

Go to the Formatting-->Columns link in GRR2 screen. On the pop up screen maintain the decimal places you want.

Percentage Calculation in report

My scenario for a report is:
The material is in the rows. MTD % has to be calculated in the columns as below:
There is a key figure Quantity. MTD = Quantity/SUMCT Quant.
The report output is good for this.
QTY(date range) SUMCT(QTY) MTD%=QTY/SUMCT(QTY)
mat1
mat2
mat3
QTY(date range) is user entry.
This view is good.
When date characteristic is used to drill across, to display Daily%, X is being returned in the report.
Where the requirement for Daily% is to be calculated by dividing the Quantity for that Day with the SUMCT of Quantity.
But when date is across,
date1----
date2
QTY---sumctDaily%--QTY-----date3
mat1-q1XX--
q
mat2
mat3
BI 7.0
Can this be resolved without building a structure in the column.

Just a suggestion, not sure if it works...
Build Total quantity as a restricted key figure(instead of SUMCT formula) and use constant selection by material.

See I have the below Rows
Total Revenue
Cost2
Cost3
Direct Cost
Gross = Total revenue - Direct Cost
Gross % = (Gross/Total revenue ) * 100
I have Columns as with basic Key figures and Formulas
Year(basic key Figure)
Year+1(basic key Figure)
Total = Year + (Year+1)
Its giving me correct values in case of Basic Key figures and not in the formula case.
It giving error when there is formula both in Row and Column.
In the above case last row and last colum. Only Column formula is getting implemented.
Here for example I have mentioned 4 rows and 4 columns.. But I have 15 Rows and 30 columns .. out of which 15 rows and columns have formulas...
% Rows are problem.. which gives me errors... I tried using Special cells, but I am not 100% sure how to use them.
I would be very thankful if you can help me out.. Please

I am working on a report which looks like the below.

my requirement is to calculate the individual growth percentage of a and b with the total revenue of a and b only.
to be more specific 12 divided by 25 and then 13 divided by 25.
i want these growth percentages in growth percentage column in my report.
I achieved the selective summation of revenue for a and b in the report footer but i am not able to use the total revenue 25 (that i get in the report footer) in the body of the report(detail section) for growth percentage calculation.
I tried using shared variables and global variables but of no use.i am not able to assign the grand total in the footer to a variable in the detail section in order to calculate the growth percentage.
Is there any easy work around to achieve this? need urgent help.
I also tried running totals and stuff but of no use.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Reji,
I'm not sure how you've added 'a' and 'b', however, whatever way it would be, I'm sure it would be a print time formula.
Meaning it is calculated a later stage after all the records are printed. So, you would never be able to use a value in the Report Footer or any Footer to calculate against a detail section value and show the calculation on the detail section itself.
The way I see it, you would need to insert this report as a sub-report, just to calculate a + b, store this value in 'shared variable' and use it for calculations in the Main Report.
So, in the sub-report, where you have your formula that calculates the addition of a and b, just create a shared variable and assign this value to it.
Place the sub-report on the Report Header and in the Main report create a formula that calls the shared variable. You can then use this formula/variable in Main-report's calculations.

Report Painter - Use of Constants / Local Formula Variable

Hi,
I am using constant and/or local formula variable in report painter in FSI.
I could use both the values for calculating percentages, ie. it can be used for multiplication or division. However, when I try to use it for addition or subtraction, I am getting the error message no. KH206.
In all cases, I am using different values in the formula, i.e. a absolute figure and a GL based figure.
I am not able to understand, why it even allows me for calculating percentage.
Can anyone help me in using a absolute figure for input and thereafter use it in addition / subtraction.
I would prefer an immediate solution to this as I am in the final stages of this report.

Can you elaborate bit further. You mean to say I should create a Constant with some value.
Thereafter how should I bring that in the form. But, How do I enter the Constant in the Formula... There is no key for entering any text in the formula.. there are only ID (the values which we bring in the form and which can be selected for the formula) and numbers which can be entered.
So how do I enter the name of the Constant?
I tried just keying in the name of the Constant, and I could check the formula also, However, while saving the form, I am getting an error,

In element WCaplimit Bis letztem ATag bis &$BISD the system adds quantities and values or different currencies.

Report painter GRR3...Division problem.

In report painter i have a division problem. I am calculationg Gross profit percentage as
Gross Profit % = ( Gross Profit / Sales ) * 100.
So the value should be
GP % = ( 2523302.56 / 14067690 )*100 = 17.93 ( As per calculator )
But the SAP is showing the value as 18.09. Can you please guide me what could be the problem?

I didn't chosse the copy function, instead I insert row 104(other current asset) , but I find the first column (which should be a formula)corresponds to row 104 is empty, and I check all formula ID under formula components, there is no other current asset

Please note that the column formula takes precedence over the row formula as mentioned in the SAP note:140901. Please also check if there are some hidden columns in the report which you can display as follows :
After executing the report >In the menu select 'SETTINGS'-> 'Report Layout' and here select tab 'Columns' > Click on 'Other
Format Groups' and change the column width for the relevant format group. Then you would able to see the hidden columns.

How to exclude a cell from a row in Report Painter

Hello,
In report painter, I am calculating a percentage of a row within a separate row. Is there a way to only calculate this percentage in certain cells within the row? The row defaults to calculate the entire population but it is only necessary for a few cells.

It is possible to reference SSRS elements directly using the ReportItems collection. If your total tablix cell is outside of yoour matrix groups, you can use this collection to accomplish what you want:
=ReportItems!Matrix1Total.Value + ReportItems!Matrix2Total.Value
where Matrix1Total and Matrix2Total is the name of the cell that contains your totals. Note that for this to work, the cell name must be unique. If the total cell is inside a group, it will be repeated once for each instance of the group and will not be
unique.
You may be able to do it using the Sum aggregate and specifying the dataset for the scope variable:

Creating variables in Report Painter

Hi ...
I would like to know ... how do I create variable ? I know it is via T CODE GS11, but when run tht, in the next screen it pops up for variable ? What variable do I need to enter ? is this predelivered Eg : CE-PK, or can we create one ? Please advise

The abpve report is inclusive of Cost Centre and Profit Centre, how acn I utilize the libraray in Report Pianter to create such report, is this possible in Report Painter whereby including Cost center and Profit Centre in one single report

When you create your variable first enter the variable name. Second enter the reporting "table" to use. Third enter the "field'. Press enter. Next enter a default value for your field. Save you variable. It is now ready to use in your report painter.
Using the PCA reporting tables gives you the profit center but not the cost center. You can only use one reporting table per report. you will need a cctr report for that.
First create your own libray from GLPCT. Next create your report using your new library. The report painter can do the calculations that you have shown.
You create a formula in the row or column to calculate your sub totals.

Decimal places in report painter

Hi experts. I have a financial report written in report painter. I want to show two decimal places on a single row. The rest of the report is in whole dollars, but this one row is a percentage, so I want to show decimal places. I know that you can format an entire column, but I can't figure out how to format a single row. Can anyone help?

            In alv report percentage calculation.Here we have a problem, In total column it will adding the fields
       in percentage column, but i want to calculate the percentage in run time.
            Example:

Hi,
1. In the ALV output tab add extra fields that are the same as those on which you are sorting and contain the same values.
2. In the Field Catalog you must add these fields but they must be hidden i.e. no_out = 'X'.
3. These fields must be included in the Sort Catalog with subtot = 'X'.
4. In order to handle the final total line in your layout for the ALV you must set field no_totalline'X' because you are going to be taking this over as well.
5. Create a form called SUBTOTAL_TEXT or similar structured as follows:
form subtotal_text using ep_subtot_line like output_tabes_subtottxt type slis_subtot_text.
In this form you will do the percentage calculation again at total level. The structure ep_subtot_line
will contain a field for each of the fields in your output_tab i.e. ep_subtot_line-sales,
ep_subtot_line-cost and ep_subtot_line-margin. Put the margin calculation into ep_subtot_line-margin.
6. In the eventtab that you pass to the ALV_GRID function module you must create a record with the
field name = 'SUBTOTAL_TEXT' and the field form = the name of the form you created in step 5 above.

Report painter- problem in creating formula variable- ps

i have copied report 6P3 - 6PP1-001 Act/Com/Total/Plan from library in report painter.
our requirement is we want two user fields from cj20n in this report. they are prps-usr04
and prps-usr05.
i have added these in header as special text variable as they were ALREADY available at header under
MASTER DATA FOR PROJECTS / WBS ELEMENT IN REPORT-WRITER.
now my requirement is to add new columns. for that i required these two fields in formula.
but as they are not present in formula component i am not able to get it.
what should i do to enter these fields in component list in formula?

ActRunningBal is a running total calculated in crystal or database field? If it is a database field then you can try this

If it is a running total you cannot apply previous function on it.

Internal variables of report painter shouldn't be selectable

Dear collegues,
I have created two new internal variables in report writer in order to use them in planning layout of TA KP67:
- previous year: marked as internal variable: calculated as: &1CGJAHE-1 (2008)
and
- future year: marked as internal variable: calcualted as: &1CGJAHE+1 (2010).
In report painter these variables are assigned to key figures and are not shown on the selection screen again as they are calculated internally.
But in planning layout of TA KP67 cost activity planning these variables are also assigned to key figures like actual costs or fixed planned costs and are indicated as acceptable for input on the selection screen but shouldn't - so how it is possible to define internal variables in co planning layouts as really internal which do not come up if the planning layout is executed via TA KP06?

Hello Christian,
when I understand your request correctly, you want to plan for several years like 2008, 2009 and 2010 but you just want to enter one year. Right?
For the column with the current fiscal year you can use a standard variable like GJAHR. For the other columns you define the year in the column as variable with value "GJAHR-1" (last year) and with value "GJAHR+1" (following year). On the selection screen of the planning transaction you will only have one field for the current year and the fiscal year for the other columns is calculated accordingly when you run the planning.

Hi,
create a formular variable in T-Code GS11 based on the variable "XYZ" you use as selection variable in your report (copy it from this one). Set the variable type as "formula", enter descripition eg "previous fiscal year" and define the formular as "XYZ - 1". for the next fiscal year define another formular variable like "XYZ + 1".
Assign this variables in the rpoert painter columns where they should be used.
On the report painter selection screen "XYZ" appears and because of formular variables the previous/next fiscal year is calculated automatically.
