Problem updating infoobject master data from a dso.

Hi all,
i'm updating the master data of an infoobject from another ods, the two table have the same key.
When i update the infoobject with full repair i get errors about duplicate records and the data load stops, when i delete the request and launch the infopackage again all goes well but it seems it doesn't insert any new record in the master data, what could be the problem?

Hi Sadeesh,
i checked the master data table and it seems it has been updated, i check some order number with recordmode N added today in the dso and the entries were in the infoobject, though i don't know why in the request tab it shows 0 added records.
To be completely sure tomorrow i will check again the number of entries in the 'p' table of the infoobject.
Anyway this is the exact error message i get:
7 duplicate record found. 6478 recordings usedin table /BIC/XZDOCDSO
7 duplicate record found. 6478 recordings usedin table /BIC/PZDOCDSO
After that i run the change run for the IO and when i launch again tha data load it goes well.

Check for pending IDOCS in BD87 or SM58 and execute them.
In RSMO, select the particular load you want to monitor.
In the menu bar, Environment >>> Transact. RFC >>> Select whichever is required, BW or Source System.
In the next screen you can select the Execute button and the IDOCS will be displayed.
Refer this Tcodes for IDOC status.

WE06 Active IDoc monitoring
WE07 IDoc statistics
WE08 Status File Interface
WE09 Search for IDoc in Database

Check Note 561880 - Requests hang because IDocs are not processed.

Transact RFC error
tRFC Error - status running Yellow for long time (Transact RFC will be enabled in Status tab in RSMO).
Step 1: Goto Details, Status get the IDoc number,and go to BD87 in R/3,place the cursor in the RED IDoc entroes in tRFC
queue thats under outbound processing and click on display the IDOC which is on the menu bar.
Step 2: In the next screen click on Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call)
place the cursor on the particular Transaction ID and go to EDIT in the menu bar --> press 'Execute LUW'
(Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call) ---> select the TrasnID ---> EDIT ---> Execute LUW)
Rather than going to SM58 and executing LUW directly it is safer to go through BD87 giving the IDOC name as it will take you
to the particular TRFC request for that Idoc.

Data load error during updation of master data

Dear all,
While updating the master data from the PSA , the following error is appearing and the load fails.
"The time interval ['20050313'/'20050313'] & (from/to) for the data
records 1 & and 2 & overlaps in characteristic 0EQUIPMENT &."
What could be the reason for this error and how to correct the same.
I am able to understand that the valid from and the valid to date are same. in R/3 whenever a change record is created for the equipment the valid from and the valid to date will be the same as shown below.
Creation of record (for example today) valid from :- 02.06.2008 and valid to 31.12.9999.
Change of record (for example tommorrow) Valid from :- 03.06.2008 and valid to 31.12.9999
In the above case the valid to date of the creation data will automatically change from 31.12.9999 to 03.06.2008.
How could this be solved.

Hi Magesh,
Please look at /BIC/*Equipment table in SE16.
Find the record with a key = ********* and notice what values have Date_from and Date_to fields. The interval they determine, overlap with ur date_to and date_from.
You need to supply correct date_to & date_from values.

Note: this is a common scenario in time dependendent master data.....it happens because you have two records for the same values of master data and also they have overlapping time interval.....you cannot have two values of master data at the same time.

Problem deleting Master Data from an InfoObject

Hello Everyone,
We have 0MATERIAL infoobject. There was no Master data in the infoobject. Then, i manually entered the data into the InfoObject. After a day, i tried to delete the Master data to load it from R/3. When i tried to delete the Master data from the InfoObject, it shows errors and does not allow me to delete the data. Say, i entered 2 into material column of a record, the error appears like 'Master Data 0000002' (SID 25) is being used in /BI0/DOSH21' and cannot be deleted'. could someone please help me with this. This is a bit urgent. Let me know if you need more information.

Hi Sachin:
Your only hope is if R/3 has the Correct Master Data, it will overwrite your Master Data. But remember for this, the KEYS have to be same because the KEYS can never be deleted in your case.
E.g., MATERIAL, LOC (is an attribute)
You inserted:
000000002, TEXAS
If, in R/3 there is infact a material with key 000000002, FLORIDA. THis will overwrite your Record.
If R/3 doesn't have 000000002, there is not much you can do now.

Update Master Data from OSD

Hi experts,
I have a problem.
I have a master data (infoobject as cube) with FIELD1 FIELD2 as KEY and some attributes (no text).
I want to update one attribute of this master data from a characteristic of OSD (same key).
The problem is that when I execute the DTP in the transformation RULES, an error appears because the register already exist and it doesnt modify the attribut.
What can i do?

How to Update Master Data from R/3

Hi,
In the R/3 source system, there a few new company code.
I have run an infopackage to full update Datasource 0COMP_CODE_ATTR. But when I display data, the new company code is not there.
I also run rsattr, and selected all the infoObject list. But i still can't see the new company code.
May I know how to extract the new company code from R/3 to BI?
What are the steps?

Hello
Check if the DTPs ran and the monitor turns green. The monitor in DTP also tells you how many records are processed.
After that run the Attribute change Run.
In general the steps to load master data from R/3 are:
1. Execute InfoPackage
2. Run DTP
3. Run Attribute Change Run
If the company code still does not show check the tables (P & M tables) to see if the data is there and in active version.

Problem with deleting old master Data from 0Material

Hello, we try to delete the master data from 0Material.
But we get the message that some data are used and can not be deleted.
We can see the error message in slg1:
"Master data 000000000100000007 (SID 7) is used in /BI0/HMATERIAL; is not deleted"
"Master data R23188 (SID 5316) is used in /BI0/D0RT_C071; is not deleted"
Can we just clear these tables? Is it enough for resolving the problem?

no you just can't "clear" these table unless you want to screw your datawarehouse....
the first message means that the material with SID 7 is used in a hierachy of 0MATERIAL ==> adjust the hierarchy first.
the second message indicates that the material with SID 5316 is used in the ICube 0RT_C07 and you CANNOT delete master data if it is used in other objects.
First run RSRV for this dimension in order to see if the DIMID is really used by the fact table. Perform the following test "Entries Not Used in the Dimension of an InfoCube " with your cube and dim.
if the DIMID is not used then "correct" the error; you'll then be able to delete your SID.
If the DIMID is used then you'll have to delete your cube data if you really want to delete this material; otherwise you'll have to keep it.
Finally rerun you master data deletion.

Updating master data from WEB UI

Hi experts,
Is it possible to change the partner attributes such as e-mail, box no, phone, etc from CRM WEB UI?
I am planning to create an admin to where he can change the partner details in WEB UI. My assumption is the master data/attributes of partner cannot be change in CRM except in HR system. what could be posible. what not. Please suggest me the best.

I am not an expert. But will contribute to your question.
You can use the transaction Launcher concept to tie the transaction of changing the HR Master Data with CRM Web UI. Using this you will be able to call the call the transaction in SAP ECC to change the HR master data from CRM Web UI. Assign this to the required navigation bar profile. This will resolve your issue.

Iam loading data from one DSO to onother, After executing DTP Iam getting error message as "Aggregation NOP not allowed on DB (key figure 0DSCT_DAYS1) ", Here 0DSCT_DAYS1 is the keyfigure aggragation type is "NOP" , exception aggregation is " No aggregation(X if more than one value unique to 0 occurs)"

We had this issue in our project. It mainly arises when you have written start routine in transformation. At start routine level it can not aggregate the fields for which NOP is set & that's why it throws an error.
Please check the load by removing the start routine. If it works then introduce a data target in between which has exactly same structure as previous data target except the fields with NOP aggregation.

Master data upload to DSO

Dear all,
We have a legacy system to maintain and face a problem.
The system have two DSO,one(DSO_04) is store the transaction data(Navigation atrribute link to master
data),Due to to accelerate the report on DSO,we build other DSO that is store the transaction data
from DSO_04->DSO_06 and change the DSO_04 navigation atrribute to DSO_06 data fields.
Problem: When user modify the master data and upload to BW,the DSO_06 isn't show the modify
report,beacause the "change the navigation atrribute to data fields in DSO_06 ".One way to solve this
problem is reload data from DSO_04->DSO_06 , but user would updata the master data frequently ,so
it isn't a good method.

Hi,
While loading the data into first DSO maintain one more field called Update Date( as current date). Do full load from DSO1 to DSO2 using DTP filter on Modified date.
In DTP filter write a small code to filter data for current date as follows :
l_t_range-sign = 'I'.
l_t_range-option = 'EQ'.
l_t_range-low = sy-datum.
l_t_range-fieldname = '/BIC/YNV_CH014'. " Updation date
APPEND l_t_range.
p_subrc = 0.

How to handle/extract Hierarchies in master data from R3

Hi Experts!!!
Iu2019m currently working on HR Implementation project and this is my first project. Implementation is being done in BI 7.0 and ECC 6.0. I have some queries regarding the extraction of master data from R3 as furnished below.
1. By default all the datasources are in 3.x technology and Iu2019ve migrated all the datasources with export and successfully performed InfoPackages and DTPS into their respective InfoObjects/Data targets. But when it comes to the masterdata datasources with hierarchies, Iu2019m unable to migrate them as there is no MIGRATE option in the context menu. When I tried to create infopackage, it asked me to create Transfer rules first and perform InfoPackage. Is it mandatory to work in 3.x technology (Transfer rules/ Update rules) in case of master data hierarchies? In this case how to handle datasources with hierarchies?
2. Is it required to have any data staging component like DSO while extracting master data datasources from SAP R/3 to their respective InfoObjects (Data targets)?? Or can I directly schedule Infopackage and DTP directly into the InfoObject with out any DSOS in between for HR master data??

all DataSource that are created in BI 7.0 are new design, master data attribute, text and transaction DataSource can all be created in the new BI 7.0, but for hierarchy DataSource, it remains as 3.X, if you double click on the Hier DataSource, you will see the title "...Emulated 3.X ...", so the DataSource should be working perfectly fine except it is in "Modified" version, i believe it is just SAP has not or can't a way to upgrade hier DataSource.
Also,
RSDS doesnt support hierarchy datasources in BI 7.0. So we cannot use transformations and DTP with hierarchy. So it is very similar to the way we used to load it in 3.x.

Extraction of master data from R3 into BW.

This is my new SAP BI assignment:
I'm going to use standard SAP InfoOjects (from Business Content) in order to build a new InfoCube (Logistics - MM/SD) with for example standard Characteristics like: 0MATERIAL, 0MATL_GROUP, 0SHIP_TO, 0SOLD_TO, 0SALESORG, 0PROD_HIER, 0CUST_GROUP, 0COMP_CODE... (_Note: NO generic extraction involved_)
My question is, do I need some extra "Process Chain" (Tcode: RSPC) in order to bring all these characteristics and all associated master data/texts, attributes and hierarchies from the R/3 ( source system) into BW, or these data will come with a standard extractor into SAP BW? I mean no extra work is needed for bringing master data from R/3 in to BW?
Another question, Is there any way to know which Characteristics need an extra "Process Chain" (Tcode: RSPC) in order to bring associated master data/texts, attributes and hierarchies from the R/3 ( source system) into BW?

Hi ,
1. In SAP R3 system go to the transaction RSA6, find the application component then select the data Source and view the structure of the data source and select all the required fields.
2. As you said no generic data source involve , then create the generic data source using the transaction SBIW, generic data sources have many creation options. view is the simplest.You can create a viewwith all requred fields on the top of different source table fieldsa per your requirement.
3.Now go to the transaction RSA3 the extractor checker ,give name of your ectractor as input and check this data source.
4.go to BW system,transaction RSA1, find the source system then replicate the metadata in the corresponding application component.After replication only the structure of the data source is copied not the actual data.
5. Create InfoPackage, so that the actual data is loaded in the PSA table.
6. Create transformation between the data source and the corresponding data target (InfoProvider - infoobject, cube, DSO). This is done by mapping the source fields with target fields using the appropriate rule type.If there are some update rules in R3 system then you may need to write some field level routines depend on your requirement.
7.Create DTP between the source and target, and execte it .It will load actual data into the target.
8.then more transformation and DTP can be created and executed according to the requirements, like from DSO to cube. Thus the data is available in BW data targets on which query can be generated for reporting.
I don't think you need any process chain for this .this is manual process but loading DTP and all can be automated via creating process chain .

Problem in Read Master Data rule type in Transformation

Hi,
I have 'Tax Classification' & 'Sales Territory' as attributes for 0customer (Master data). I loaded master data for 0customer & data have come up for this 2 fields. I want this 2 fields in my DSO with data filled. As this 2 fields are not in Transaction datasource of my DSO, i added this 2 fields in the Target side in Transformation of the DSO. In Transformation, I gave the rule type as 'Read Master Data' from attribute of '0customer' & mapped KUNAG (Sold-to) to this 2 fields. Activated the Transformation & executed the DTP.
When i check the data, i could see that the Infoobject 'Sales Territory' column alone is filled but 'Tax Classification' column is blank. Tax classification has data in 0customer master data for the displayed customer values but still data is not coming in DSO.
How does this happen when both the fields have same mapping & rule type and still data not getting populated for one field alone. Am i missing anything?

the green request in MD does not means that the data in MD is activated, you need to activate it after loading everytime so that it reflects in where used list as well.

Hi,
This is the procedure.
1. Create m-data with or without attributes.
2. Create infosource .
    a) with flexible update
         or
    b) with direct update
3. Create transfer rules and assign tyhe names of m-data and attribute in "Transfer rules" tab and transfer them to communication structure.
4. Create the flat-file with same stucture as communication structure.
5. if chosen direct update then create infopackage and assign the name of flat-file and schedule it.
6. if chosen flexible update the create update rule with assigning name of the infosource and the schedule it by creating infopackage.

Unable to extract Customer Master data from MDC

We creating an MDM-XI-ERP2005 Customer scenario. We want to work with all bussiness scenarios (not customizing scenario).
First I'm trying to extract Customer Master Data from EP 2005 using MDM_CLNT_EXTR.
I have created a New Variant which properties are:
Variant: CUSTOMER_TOTAL
Description: Send all customer data to MDM
Extraction Object: CUSTOMER_EXTRACT.
Target System: PI7.
But, the display jobs shows the following error: Could not determine recipients for message type MDMRECEIPT. Job cancelled after system exception.
We need to focus the problem. We have done the following ALE configuration.
SALE transaction:
In Basic Settings -> Logical Systems -> Define Logical System we have add the following logical systems:
              EUS100
              MDM: Master Data Management
              PI7: Process Integration 7.0
WE21:
Transactional RFC -> PI7, IDOC record types SAP Release 4.x
RFC destination: SAPSLDAPI
BD64
New Model -> PFMC
Add message type: Model iview: PFMC
                             Sender: EUS100
                              Receiver: PI7
                             Message Type: DEBMDM
WE20 transaction shows:
Partner profiles -> Partner Type LS (logical system)
                    PI7: Outbound parmtrs. DEBMDM, SYNCH.

Sorry because I made a mistake in my previous message. ALE seems to be correctly configured. I'll try to update correctly my current situation:
In WE02 I can see al IDOCs that I'm trying to send to XI. All them have the IDoc Status = 3 (Data Passed to Port OK) instead of 12 Status Dispatch OK :(. So, It seems an tRFC error.
SM58 shows me more trails: "Basic type 'DEBMDM06' is unknown"
before that I have done the following steps at SAP ERP:
    1. WE21: I have created a PI7 port with 700PI70CLNT RFC.
    2. SM59: I have checked successfully 700PI70CLNT RFC connection.
    3. WE20: I have created a PI7 Partner Type LS with the following inbound and outbound parameters: DEBMDM and MDMRECEIPT.
    4. BD64: I have created a Distribution Model with DEBMDM and MDMRECEIPT message types.
and at SAP PI:
     5.IDX: Port: SAPEUS. Client: 111. RFC Destination: PI7.
     6. technical and business system for sender SAP system(System Landscape Directory)...
- Maybe some of the previous steps is not correct....
- Is RFC Destination = PI7 is correct in step #5?
- Is also necessary to configure more steps in PI system like RFC destinations or Transactional port?
- I have read that is neccessary to check that the option "transfer idoc immediately" in we20. How?
