Hi. Welcome to the forums.
As you say that this has suddnely just started (rather than a few weeks and a few days ago when there were server problems affecting lots of people), then this usually points at an individual account access problem.
This can be a fleeting problem, but unfortunately can last a few days in some cases. If you keep trying every few hours, it might suddenly spring into life. If after 3 or 4 days it still doesn't work, then pop back.
Are you with BTinternet or Virgin may I ask, because that could be relevant.

  • I'm having problems receiving/sending emails thru Outlook.

I switched internet connection from AT&T to Comcast and I'm still utilized several AT&T email address's for free. I'm having problems receiving/sending emails thru Outlook.  Could the problem be due to using their free emails with no support.
Do I have to go thru yahoo to read/send emails?

Change the ISP would not effect the email connection generally. (Only when ISP disable your mailbox which they could control directly.)
I suppose that your Outlook still store/cache the AT&T messages, try to export them as PST data file for backup.
Setup the new Yahoo in your current Outlook first and then import that backup.pst to continue to use.

  • I can't download email into Outlook 2011. Get "can't find server" error message.

I recently purchased a new iMac and had my local Apple store move over all of my documents from my G5 running PPC version 10.5.8. However because I am using several programs that don't have an Intel Mac version I continue to use both computers. But recently I decided it was time to make the full move to my new iMac. However, when I installed MS Office 2011 with the Outlook option it imported the old email and contacts files but it will not download new emails. I have the same email account info on both computers but Outlook hangs up when it tries to downloan new messages while the PPC version works like a charm. Now I purchased Mountain Lion over the weekend thinking that might solve the problem but it did not.
The message I get on my screen is "There was a problem connecting to the server "Tim's G5"". The server may not exist or it is unavailable at the time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection and then try again."
I have no idea what this message is referring to but it only appears when I open Outlook.
Can anyone help me? I can't switch over to my new iMac unti I know for sure Outlook will work properly.

What mail system are you using?

  • Possible problems receiving international email?

I have a client whose current hosting provider has trouble receiving emails from outside the US. It seems that they either bounce back or show up as undeliverable. I'm discussing moving his site to Business Catalyst (as well as building a new site for a separate business) and he's asking if Adobe's email service will have similar problems. Does anyone have any experience with this? I've never come across this before, so I'm not sure what to tell him.
    Thanks,
    Addison

    Hi Addison,
Have not experienced this with BC and can only think if either the mail IP was blocked or some sort of local network preventing with your clients external mail provider.
Not sure if this helps much but wanted to chime in.
    Cheers!

  • Since updating to ios7 i keep getting requests to enter my password for yahoo mail, my email account, and the itunes account details too. The email is connected though and i have no problem receiving new emails. Any ideas ?

...I am also concerned as I found an email in my sent items today to someone i have never heard of before....saying hello. I suspect this might mean the problem is the yahoo account maybe hacked but I have no idea....thanks, Stewart

It sounds as if your account has been compromised. I would recommend logging into those accounts from your computer and their websites and changing your password.

  • Continuously receiving same email via Outlook 2011

I have a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.7.5.  Without any action from my side I keep sending myself the same 28 MB email via Hotmail.  Usually several times per hour, which is slowing down everything else I want to do.  This has been going on for several days and is driving my crazy.  Help!!!

Hotmail is a POP account (soon to be ditched) and it's likely that your mail isn't being deleted from the server. I don't use any POP accounts or have a Hotmail account but since both are MS products, I might suggest that you may be able to get the answer to your problem more quickly is you as in the MS Office Outlook for Mac forum - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoutlook.
    Good luck,

  • Problem with outgoing email on Outlook Express 6

I am getting the following error message when attempting to send email:
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's ...
I have done the Verizon checkup and used the "helper" to no avail.  My settings are configured as the tutorial detailed.  I need help!  Thanks!

For the sake of example, we are going to pretend that we are setting up fictional account "[email protected]" and the password for logging into that account in webmail is "fakepassword" - Again, this is a fictitious account for the sake of an example.
The settings for using Verizon's servers would be:
    Incoming Server: incoming.verizon.net
    Server Requires Authentication: Yes
    Username: fakeacct
    Password: fakepassword
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): No
    Port: 110
    Outgoing Server: outgoing.verizon.net
Server Requires Authentication: Yes (You can set it to use the same settings as incoming, or manually enter the username and password.)
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): No
Port: 25 (although 587 also works.)
These settings should work unless you have a Verizon/Yahoo account, in which case the server names are: incoming.yahoo.verizon.net -and- outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net

  • I receive an email from Outlook with attachments but when I forward it the attachments are lost.

One particular person sends attachments which I can open fine but I can't forward them unless I store them and re-attach. The attachments have "size unknown" label in the email.
A friend of mine who get the same emails from the same sender doesn't get the attachments at all. Her ISP gives "images blocked for your protection".
Can the sender do anything to fix this? All other mail and attachment work fine.

RTF = Microsoft proprietary and has no place in email. Email is HTML and Text.
Contact the sender and ask them to disable any RTF in their mail and point them to this http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/recipients-receive-a-winmail-dat-attachment-HA010153018.aspx..
The best solution is don't use Outlook.

  • Problem syncing old emails from Outlook to Mail using Exchange 2010

    HI,
I recently switched from Outlook 2011 to Lion Apple Mail.  I am set up for email through my comany's exchange server.  When I set up Mail, all of my folders showed up on my Mail account successfully but it will only sync back the last 60 days of emails.  I know these old emails do reside on the server.  Is there potentially a setting on mail to adjust how back it syncs?  If not, can someone suggest a work-around.  I would only have to do this once.
    Thanks

When transferring a locally stored message that was recieved a year ago to a server stored mailbox with an IMAP account - doing this today for example, the recieved date for the message is changed to today's date - at least with an email client used to access the account.

  • Occasional problem receiving Comcast email on iPhone and MacBook.

I have iCloud.  Occasionally I will recieve an email on my iPhone but will not receive the same email on my MacBook.  This does not happen all of the time but it does happen periodically.  Any ideas?

Yes some ideas. Comcast is using pop mail accounts. you need to do some changes to your phone and computer settings in order to accommodate that. (those accounts a bit outdated and need to be managed in order to use with multiple devices)

    Hi.
How many accounts are you checking ?
Are you receiving the exact same duplicate emails each time you check, if so - how many ?
One reason for possible duplcate receipt can be due to the server not completing a "fetch" session. If this signal is not received at the server, then it assumes that the emails haven't been received, so doesn't really anything like mark them as received (or read, or sent to the Trash folder). Hence another server check for emails will receive these same ones again (and any new ones).
As there have been server issues for a while, which may still affect some accounts, then this may have a factor.

  • Outlook 2010 receive blank email content

    Hi,
Recently, our company has upgraded the computer from Windows XP to Windows 7 and the Office 2000/Office 2003 to Office 2010. Some of the users start to receive the emails with subject and from/to email address but without email content.
Those upgraded Office 2010 with English and Traditional Chinese version. Our internal programs would send out a list of HTML format emails to users everyday. Those users would receive blank email randomly. For the users who still haven't upgraded machine,
all the emails are still working normally.
Our computers are working on a domain, but we didn't use any exchange server.
I did try to change the Color of the font and change to safe mode to open, but the problem still the same.
For example, the same email to user A and user B. User A can receive the email normally, but User B got the blank content email. However, User A and B also setup an auto-forward to Gmail mail account. Both users also can got the email normally from the
Gmail accounts. I have tried to "Rely" or "Forward" that blank email, also no content display. And I did try "View Source" or "View in Browser" for that email, it is blank as well.
It is very strange that as the blank emails are received very random. For example, User A will receive 9 mails per day. The blank email will occur in any of these 9 mails in any days in a week. Monday, you can receive the normal email for Mail 1, and you
may receive a blank Mail 1 on Tuesday and then Wednesday, you will receive the normal Mail 1 again.
Our company is using OfficeScan, however, we haven't enabled the "Mail Scan" feature. Some of our new machines have installed AV software, I have disabled the mail scanning feature already. However, we found that the Wins7 (ENG) - Microsoft Office
Home and Business 2010 (ENG) with AV software, still can receive the normal without problem.
    Our Finding:
    OS Version
    Office Version
    Bank Email Randomly
    Wins7 (ENG)
Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 (ENG)
    No
    Wins7 (CHI)
Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 (CHI)
    Yes
    Wins7 (ENG)
Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 (ENG)
    Yes
    WinsXP (ENG)
    Microsoft Office 2000
    No
    WinsXP (CHI)
    Microsoft Office 2000
    No
    WinsXP (ENG)
    Microsoft Office 2003
    No
    WinsXP (CHI)
    Microsoft Office 2003
    No
    Any ideas?

If I understand correctly, this behavior only happen when user receive the emails from Outlook, and if we try to view the email from the web access, the emails will be displayed as expected?
Based on my research, this behavior - receiving blank emails - is mainly caused by the Anti-virus.
In my experience, disable or turn off the Anti-vitus, sometimes won't work as expected. (Sometimes we even need to remove them.)
My suggestion is, find one of the affected machine, run Windows in
clean boot mode - this will exclude 3rd-party services when starting Windows - for a period of time, and check if this behavior will still occur.

    Thx for your reply.
You mean the OfficeScan will cause this problem. As I know some of the machines have installed AVG as well, but some people couldn't receive the correct email, some did.
If it is really related to anti-virus software, what should I do to keep the anti-virus software as our company is required to install and also solve the blank email issue?

  • NOT RECEIVING VERIZON EMAIL

Since 8/27, I haven't received any emails into my verizon email account.  I have contacted the verizon tech support, no help; just ran through scripts.........for some reason I received and error message (account disabled; this is a sub account).   I really wish that verizon would fix it's problem with it's server.
    HELP

If you're getting an error that your sub is disabled, log into the Primary account's My Account Tools page and (at the bottom) verify that the box is checked for email access for the sub.
If it isn't, check the box and save. If it is, then contact tech support and have them do a disable/enable on the whole account, and that should set it right again.
    Hope this helps!
