  • Xperia S does not turn on, red light when charging.

My phone, after spending a day on a boat, was low on battery (this was 2 hours after leaving on the drive home). It went from 6% battery to shutting down completely in a matter of seconds. I plugged it into my car charger immediately, but it has not turned on since. Previously i have had problems with the headphone jack not recognising if earphones were plugged in or not, but this usually resolved within a few minutes. On top of this i have once struggled to turn the phone on due to i believe a once off problem with the power button.
Recently the headphone jack has been playing up a lot more than usual, but it never resulted in this.  I have never experienced any other problem with the phone. PROBLEM: Once it turned off, I have been unable to restart my phone. When charging it shows a dull red light like when charging less than 15% battery. I have charged it now, on and off using multiple different charges for 6 hours, and have left it on its original charger as i write this. The power button plus volume up has no effect. There is no vibrations when i turn on the device. The screen which usually loads something when charging, has not displayed anything since turning off. It does not connect to either an apple or windows computer with a usb cable, volume down key depressed or not. It does not get hot to touch while charging, and i remember according to AVG that the battery quality that day was "good". After 6 hours of charging, the red light is still there(and usually a full charge after 1.3 hours, leaves a green light) Put simply, the only responce of any kind i get from the phone is a red light when charging. What have i done? recharged the phone for 6 hours, tried power button, restart button combo, usb connection with both an apple and windows computer, i also put it in rice in case there was any water but did not change anything. anything changed? after 2 hours of charging on the wall, the red light disapeared... tried the above, nothing happened, unplugged the phone then replugged it in... red light. I will try to get it repaired shortly along with a broken PS3, but i would rather a solution, as both my work and social life heavily depend on it. thankyou in advance

If you have given it a good charge and still have no luck, I would advise running a software repair. This can be done with the phone powered off:
    1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
    2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
    3. Phone Software Update.
    4. Start.
    5. Repair Phone
    6. Continue
    7. Accept data removal
    8. Next
    9. Wait for prepare
    10. Select Phone
    11. Follow the connection steps

  • Green LED when charging

    Hi all,
I wonder if you can help me, I charge my phone in its dock every night in the bedroom. I have got it to turn into bedside mode when charging. Trouble is if I keep then phone on I receive notification sounds when recieving emails etc. If I turn the phone off and docked I get a solid green light which lights up the room when fully charged. So any info on the following:
1.Can I disable the green LED when charging?
    2. Can I configure Bedside mode to go into silent?
    3. Can I schedule silent mode to come on/off at a certain time?
    Thanks in advance

I have my bedside mode configured to turn off the wireless radio. That way, I do not get any emails until I turn on the wireless radio (by exiting bedside mode).
another thing you can do, is not use the charging stand, but using the cable plug in and turn your phone upside down so the light is pointed down and not up.

  • 8830 Will not charge, shows solid red LED when connected

I plugged my phone in to my wall charger Saturday night as I always do-Sunday morning the phone was dead and would not turn on.  It shows a solid red light on the LED.
I cannot seem to get it to charge.  Briefly, the charging battery icon showed up on the screen, but now it went out.  Just sitting there, every once in a while the LED goes out.
Help, anyone?  I've tried taking out the battery and reinserting both with the phone plugged in and not.

I had same problem except I discovered that as long as I did not let the battery fully die, it would charge with no issues. But if it died completely, I would get the red light briefly, it would go out and then lightning bolt on battery would show up but no charge at all.

  • My Xperia Z3 Dual only has a constant red led when plugged in, cant turn it On

    Hi,
When I woke up in the morning today,  I noticed that my Xperia Z3 Dual only shows the led in red (constant, not blinking) when I plug in to charge. I cant power on pressing the Power button, cant even restart using Power + Volume buttons. I also tried the recovery procedure from PC Companion, power off then Volume and power on, connect to PC and autodetect... nothing works.
I have the phone since march 2015, only 3 months; all was perfect before this big issue: no software problems, battery duration was excellent (at least 1 full day), camera ok, both sim's detected and configured without issues, also no problems when wet my phonet.
    Can you help me pls?

  • Red light when charging

I am traveling internationally & remotely so can't take my wife's Macbook in or get phone support for awhile. We noticed recently that when we plug in the charger the light goes from its usual green to red in several seconds although it keeps on charging. Also, possibly related, the screen has started blinking off frequently (whether connected to charger or not). We need to keep using the computer but don't wish to hurt it either. Anyone have any thoughts. Thanks.

    Hi Robert,
The light on the MagSafe connector turns green when it is fully charged and turns amber when it is charging the battery.

By the screen blinking off do you mean the screen goes black, you push any button and it comes back on? Or the screen flickers and you can't do anything to make it come back on?

  • Xperia Z2 orange blinking led when connected to magnetic charge cord

Hey guys. I bought this phone off a friend. Its three months old and works great. But the other night I accidentally put the magnetic port on backwards and the phone completely died. I freaked out and tried every key combination possible. I eventually got a red led when I plugged in the microusb port. It turned on in about 10 minutes like normal.
Now, when ever I attach the magnetic cord (properly) I get an orange led blinking and the device doesn't charge at all.
What does the blinking orange led mean? Does warranty cover the magnetic port? Hopefully someone can help me
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hello everyone. I've was having issues with the magnetic charge port on my Z2. It simply did not want to charge the device. It also was heating up when it was charging through USB. Sometimes it wouldn't even charge!
I was trying to get away with living with it until one day the phone turned off and never started back up for about a day.
At this point I knew there was no other choice but to request an RMA to get these issues addressed.
When I phoned in to tell them my issues, I told them specifically "THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE MAGNETIC PORT", "THE PHONE REFUSES TO CHARGE SOMETIMES" and "THE PHONE HEATS UP WHEN CHARGING".
The rep on the other end told me several times he understands the problem and they will all be addressed when it arrives at the repair facility.
So, I packaged the phone up and sent it off to Ontario (shipping cost me $40) and thought that once it comes back it'll work like it should.
This is where I have never been more wrong.
I got the phone back today and opened it up as soon as I could.
First thing I did was try to turn it on. Absolutely nothing. No light, no low battery screen, nothing.
So when I arrived home I plugged the thing into an AC USB charger. The first 10 minutes there was only a red LED and nothing else.
After 10 minutes I was able to see the green battery on the screen.
Another 5 minutes later, I was actually able to power up the phone. It was sitting at 2%.
Which makes me believe that the phone was either left on or COMPLETELY discharged before shipping. Don't these people at the repair facilities know how damaging it is for a battery to be comepletely discharged???
The second and most outrageous thing is the main reason the phone was sent it, wasn't even fixed!!!
I tried plugging into the magnetic port charger (with an aftermarket cord, as well as the dock) and the phone is doing EXACTLY the same thing!!!
In fact, this is an exact quote of what the work order says:
"PHONE IS CHARGING AND IS WORKING GOOD. PLEASE SEND IN USB CABLE AND CHARGER IF PROBLEM P-" <- They didn't even finish the sentence.
"Software Upgrade, Live Call Passed, Quality Control Passed"
I am so totally outraged and disgusted with Sony right now.

    hi Vothein
like I see on your photo phone is not connected to charger or PC and you have red led. My Z 10 just have red led when is connected to pc or to wall charger without battery inside.I don't know why it happends ??
I checked other forums and you can check another solution- charge your phone 2h then make break for 15 min and then another 2 hours. After that you press start button or plus & minus of volume on side for 15-30 second and maybe phone will start.Another option is try to update phone just via website in internet explorer, when you "Google" you can find blackberry update autoloader and then you connect your phone and after some seconds you unplug and then maybe phone run again.I used leaked version of OS, I can't find some apps in BB World and I use them to have connection with family thats why my Z 10 is dead.I stay in touch with one guy from India and he said it's hardware problem and he still dont know how to fix it.
I hope my advice maybe will be helpfull and your BB will be live again.
    Best Regards

  • Luna BH-220 Flashing red led for hours

I just received my two Luna head sets. The first one charged up fine and did the NFC pair no problem, but the second unit seems to be having a problem.
The second one just flashes the red led when it is in the cradle. The Led on the cradle is green. The red led on the ear piece turns off if I remove the charger, but just returns to flashing when I plug it back in. This has gone on for the past 5 hours. How do I get this unit reset? What does the flashing LED mean? Both units had very sparse information in the box and I can not find the user manual anywhere on the Nokia support site. The Luna isn't even listed in the support accesories section. Maybe it's too new??.

UPDATE: finally managed to get nokia to return my THIRD broken nokia bh-220 bluetooth device, as I purchased it from amazon.
Filled out the necessary online form and sent it to FONEBIZ for the repair (authorised nokia repairs).
Two days later, I receive a phone call saying that the device is NOT covered and I am to pay a whopping $170 for them to REPLACE my green device for a BLACK ONE. (See attached photo for proof). Please bare in mind that I only paid $57 for my green nokia luna BRAND NEW. So where FONEBIZ get thier estimate from is simply outrageous.
When I contacted Nokia, they said their customer service represented was wrong, and she shouldn't have given me the details to return the item. Once again NOKIA, WHERE ARE YOUR BRAINS HERE.?
    NOTE
DO NOT BUY NOKIA PRODUCTS PERIOD
DO NOT RETURN ITEMS TO FONEBIZ THEY WILL SIMPLY RIP YOU OFF, AND ARE CLEARLY INCOMPETENT AT REPAIRING BLUETOOTH DEVICES. SO I WOULDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO LET THEM REPAIR A PHONE.
NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL ME OR MY FAMILY PURCHASE A NOKIA PRODUCT. I AM DISGUSTED WITH THEM.
And I encourage, whoever is reading this, to just acknowledge she sheer hell I've been through just for a simple cheap bluetooth device, and just make sure your aware of the risk when buying a more expensive product. Nokia didn't give a second thought to my bad luck. Why would they treat you any different.

  • K7t266 pro v1.0 4 red leds

I just bought an 1800+ to put in my old k7t266pro but I get 4 red leds when I start it up.  It powers up as soon as I hit the switch on the PSU.  I tested the CPU in a friend's motherboard and it worked fine.  The k7t266pro was in working condition before I put it away for a few months.  I happen to have 2 of these boards and I get the 4 red LEDs on both of them.  I also tried different PSU's and only have the board, cpu, ram , and video card connected.  Any help would be appreciated.

If the first four letters of the OPN on the cpu is AXDA then the 1800+ is one with a Thoroughbred core, MSI says that the K7T266 Pro does not support it. It only supports the Palimino core.
That does not mean for certain that your cpu won't work.  Sometimes unsupported cpus will work in motherboards that do not support them.  Clear the cmos with the power cord unplugged from the power supply.  Set the clear jumper back correctly and plug back in the ac.  Then try to see if the motherboard will boot up.  If it does, you might see the cpu showing as an unknown cpu on the boot page. Go into the bios and do all of the settings manually for the cpu.  The cpu will still probably remain an unknown cpu but if it works, who cares?

  • My z10 led flashing red when charging and even at battery full it blinks red. no green at any note..

My z10 led flashing red when charging and even at battery full it blinks red. no green at any notification. But at below 10% charging level it blinks with a combination of red and green. Please send me any settings to be changed if.. at full charged no green light is blinking.. how many colours does z10 led have..and when it works and how to make those settings..or was my led not working fine? I am worried so much..plz help me

Your LED is fine, on the Z10 there is not "network signal available" green LED, as you're accustomed to from the legacy devices. At reaching 10%, the LED will blink orange.
Red for message or applicaiton notifications.
if you want to edit and create specific LED color combination, see the third party apps such as BeBuzz or Hub++

  • When I wake up, I have email, but no flashing red LED!

Last night, I plugged the charger into my 8900, saw the clock displayed, and went to sleep.  When I woke up this morning, I had 4 new emails and 2 text messages, but the LED was still blinking green, not red.  Had I not looked at the 8900's screen, I would not have know there were messages waiting for me.
I searched the forums on this issue, and came across one post which said exiting the bedside mode by bypassing the clock application's "Exit Bedside Mode" option can cause this.
All I can think of, is that I might have set it to Bedside Mode (which turns off the LED) and then pressed the MUTE button to put it in standby.  I remember seeing the message dialog box show up saying the phone was entering standby mode, but the message never went away.  I cleared the dialog box by pressing the red End Call button.  I think the phone may also have exited Bedside Mode at that time, or I may have manually exited it via the clock's option.  My guess is that this is what caused the LED not to flash red after receiving messages.  Unfortunately, I've been unable to replicate the error using this method, or any combination thereof.
    Any ideas?

The blinking red LED blinks ONLY for about 15 minutes after receipt of a message or email. Unless you had received the email and SMS in the 15 minutes prior to your waking, there is no reason your LED should have been blinking.

  • Flashing red LED - 800w won't charge or turn on

Love my new 800w especially in comparison to my old 700wx that never worked quite right.  Loved it even more after I figured out how to turn off the GPS and extend battery life.  Figured that doing a few full charge-full drain cycles would help battery life in the future and reduce memory effect, so ran through 2 cycles fine and on my third...disaster.
Battery drained to 0.  Device autopowered off.  Got back to my AC charger, plugged it in, LED went red, figured it was charging.  An hour later, turned it on, got the booting up message, got to the main screen where it showed a zero battery with AC plugged in...and now it's dead.
I now see a solid red LCD when plugged in for about 10-30 seconds, then it turns off for about 1/2 second, rinse, repeat.  Will not start up, period - battery or no battery.  Have tried soft resets (removing battery) numerous times, tried hard reset, but hard to do a hard reset if there's no way to turn this on.
Any suggestions?  Should I buy a new battery?  Is the old one covered under warranty?
Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)

I had the exact same problem after the phone went completely dead and I tried to revive it by charging it with my car charger. (I read that when the phone is completely dead, it is recommended that you use the wall charger)  It would not give me a red light indicator most of the time showing that it was charging.  When I got home, I tried using the AC adaptor and I had the flashing red light.  The phone would power on by itself after about 10 minutes of being plugged in.  The phone would boot up and give me about 20 seconds to mess around before it would go dead again.  At that point, the red light would not come on at all despite being plugged in and I would have to pull the battery and start from scratch.  What I did notice that no matter how many times I did this, the battery would have 0% when the cell phone would actually boot up.
What I ended up doing was a hard reset, but the only way I was able to hard reset the phone was to hold down the red button for a few minutes after plugging in the phone... so when the phone decided it wanted to startup I had the button pushed down.  It then asked me if I wanted to erase the data, I said yes, and the phone started working properly again.

My brand new MacBook Pro retina display not charging the battery any more after 3 weeks...no green or red Led. Any one now about this problem? Thanks

Either the power brick is damaged, or the charging circuit is on the blink, or both. Either way, a trip to the Apple Store or the Apple Authorized Service Provider is in order, as this ain't no bargain basement toy.
In the meantime, can attempt an SMC Reset to see if it helps.
