Is there one or not? I got a restock fee for $29

Please visit online Order Status or call 1-800-676-2775 to request a return. If you return your iPhone within 30 calendar days from shipment, you will not be charged a restocking fee. The iPhone must be returned in the original packaging, including any accessories, manuals, and documentation.

I'd call them. I returned mine to apple.com last week and they put the reason as 'changed mind' instead of what I really reported with the proximity sensor issue. I haven't received my refund yet.

  • Inconsistent delivery balance after return with restocking fee

My client does not like the work around she must use to delete negative delivery balances after returns are processed with a restocking fee. Here is her description of the problem:
    1. We receive this unit back from customer. When a return is created the unit is received back into stock and cost account is credited.
    2. We revised the unit and decided to accept the return but charge a 10% restocking fee which means we will give back to the customer only 90% of what he paid for the unit.
When a credit memo is created, the customer receives the credit and the revenue account is debited. Also the base return document is closed.
    3. However the system indicates that there is a negative delivery amount of $509 (On the BP master screen)  We donu2019t want to see that balance; there is no document open linked to that balance.
If I do the same process, but add the total credit amount to the unit price directly the system does not show this negative balance even though the total amount of the return document is different than the total amount of the credit memo.
In order for me to clear that balance, I needed to create a return, copy it to a credit memo, and create an invoice to offset the invoice.
Is ther a better way to do this?

The proper way to do it would be full credit plus new service invoice to complete this transaction.  The restocking fee s a new charge to customer.  That process will reflect the true financial transaction.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • I will be returning my A505-S6005. Help me to avoid the restocking fee by reading this list.

About five days ago I bought a Toshiba A505-S6005 laptop at Best Buy. I am so sorry I did because this computer has been a pain in the **bleep** since day one. I have numerous problems or errors with the unit, but the system still works (to a point) and I would think that a Geek Squad agent would deem it as operational and I would be subject to a restocking fee. Here is a list of issues I have seen or experienced with it. Maybe someone can really attest that it is indeed defective and I can get all of my refund.
    List of errors or issues.
    1. Very slow startup. (This is a Core i3, but it does not seem like it. I think I would get better performance from a cheapie Celeron)
    2. Stuttering audio at startup and while playing media..(online media, videos, music, and normal Windows Operations, Windows Media Center)
    3. Display Driver has stopped responding and has recovered error. Experienced numerous times during startup or restarts
    4. Completely blank screen while running on battery. Plugged in and it did not help. (After turning it on for the day) No backlight or anything. As if screen is off.
    5. Acronis True Image cannot find any Hard Disk Drives when running the recovery manager from the bootable CD or within the Windows recovery methods. (have followed advice of forum posters, all of which have failed. Have also tried to generate a system report which also failed.)
    6. Very noisy DVD/CD drive when burning discs (Makes extremely loud vibrating sound)
    7. Problems with camera sensing light in well lit room. (not sure if this is an issue or not) although it does not hapen all the time.
I think this is everything I have experienced so far. I am not sure if there are other issues or not. But there might very well may be.

I agree, go bring it back to them. If its within 14days they should not ask for a restocking fee.

  • How to handle restocking fee

    Dear guru,
We cut a PO to vendor and later we decided to cancel the PO.  However the vendor wants to charge a 15% cancellation fee(or restocking fee).  I need your opinion on how to handle this situation:
    1. if this is a stocked/valuated material, can I post the 15% to the material stock(says, currently there are stock on hand available).  How to achive this?
    2. If there is no exisitng stock on hand, how do I post this 15% cancellation fee upon receipt invoice from vendor(no PO issued)? via direct FI?
    Appreciate your input.

    Hi,
Is there a way that if I need this to be handled via PO process instead of making manual/direct FI entries?
Reason being the supplier wants us to issue a PO to them and I need the cost of cancellation goes back into this particular material/stock.(i have stock on hand now).
Appreciate your further input on this.

  • Restocking fee option not available on ebay.ca

ebay.ca does not offer the restocking fee option that ebay.com has available in their settings. Not surprising we are always left in the stone age when it comes to changes. With the new return process I`ve had more return requests in the past 2 weeks than I have had in almost 10 years on ebay. Yet another unnecessary change. Now when I go to issue a refund when the item is returned it only gives the option to refund the full item cost. Will have to refund through paypal and see how the return process handles or acknowledges the partial refund.

Noticed the same thing.   Essentially, the ebay hassle free returns feature is not yet ready for sites other than ebay.com so I went ahead and disabled it for now in site preferences.  I will turn it on again once they fully implement it including the ability to setup restocking fees.

  • Credit memo with restocking fee

    Hello,
I've got a customer that wishes to charge a 20% restocking fee on returned or exchanged items.  Is there any way to create this on the credit memo or do I need a UDF?  I kind of remember reading something about this but can't seem to locate the documentation.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Kind Regards,
    Lucas

Are the Credit Memo's going to be creating by copying the Invoice to CM
One of the ways I have seen people use is add a Freight Type called Restocking Fee and enter the amount in negative.
When you add the CM click on freight and on the restock fee line enter -xxx.xx

  • Does Apple still waive the restocking fee of iphone 4??

I bought my iPhone4 3 days ago and had to get an exchange because of a faulty on my iPhone. However, they gave me a refurbished one. I don't want to take this, so that I want to get a refund and buy a new one.
I remember Apple had waived the restocking fee, but I don't know they still keep that policy.
Does anyone know about it? If it sill applies, when are they going to change the policy?

An exchange under warranty is called a service unit and is provided in a plain box with the iPhone only regardless if new or refurbished and there should be no way to tell the difference. An exchange under warranty includes the iPhone only since all other package contents included with the retail sales box do not need to be exchanged.
I believe the restocking fee for the iPhone 4 continues to be waived due to the unwarranted hysteria over the antenna, but this is for someone returning the iPhone for payment credit and not purchasing another because they are unhappy with it and want a different make and model.

  • AT&T Restocking Fee

So I know that Apple has waived the restocking fee on the iPHone 4 if you return it within 30 days. Why hasn't AT&T?
I got my iPhone 4 from AT&T on the walk in launch day. I called today about returning the phone because of the antenna problem I have and was told that they do have a restocking fee unless there is something wrong with the phone. And from their POV, there is nothing wrong since Apple has not come out and said "there is a hardware problem."
I mentioned that Apple has waived the fee, but the guy held fast. No admission of problem from Apple, pay the fee.
It seems I am being penalized for purchasing from AT&T. If I purchased from Apple, I could return the phone...no fee and my upgrade status reverts back to what it was before I got the iPhone 4. From AT&T...pay the fee. Tough luck.
    Anyone else had this experience?

  • Can I exchange for new if I pay restock fee?

Sorry to cross post, but not getting answers in the other forum
My wife and I bought new iPhones 3Gs on monday to replace our originals.
I have had nothing but troubles.
The first unit, the hold button broke and retreated into the shell - they exchanged it.
The second unit, the screen is WAY too yellow, ever after the update. Also, I have not been receiving calls. I went to genius and talked to AT&T, they say everything is working fine. Missing calls is not happening while in the stores. Keep saying let us know if I keep having issues, etc. I think the phone is a lemon, my wife's 3G phone is perfect.
I work as a freelancer and my phone is my lifeline...I need a fix.
If i go back to the Apple store, and pay the restocking fee, can I just exchange for a brand new phone? The 30 bucks is worth potentially solving this problem.

Even if someone were to give you an answer to this, The Apple Store would have to agree in order for it to actually happen.
It's probably best to give the Apple Store a call.
Hopefully someone has actually tried this and can give you an actual answer, but barring that you'll have to ask Apple.
Sorry. Hope you get an answer.

  • I purchased an iPhone 5S using my EDGE upgrade on September 5, but would like to exchange it for an iPhone 6 within the 14 day period. Other than having to pay the $35 restocking fee, will I have any problems doing so? Thanks

Good evening udflyers! You should not have any problem returning/exchanging your current within 14 days http://bit.ly/IeiJI of purchase. However, you may have to preorder the device you want as it is not currently available and preorder start on 9/12/14 at 12:01am, PST. Please process your return/exchange thru the same channel as your original purchase.

  • Restocking Fee for an exchange???

While I understand the need to charge a restocking fee for returns, I find it incredibly ridiculous that we are charged a restocking fee when it is an exchange for the same exact phone. My mother's phone was not working properly so she went to the verizon store to get it exchanged within 14 days as they mentioned, and the representative at our verizon wireless store charged my mother with the restocking fee in order to exchange her less-than-14-day old phone for another phone.
Then what she witnessed afterwards is disappointing. The phone that she had turned in was being wiped down carefully and put back into the box. Does that mean someone else will buy that phone as a "new" phone even though it was not working properly?
We almost feel as if we were scammed into getting a bad phone at first and then exchanged for a good phone afterwards.
Is this just an over-imaginative thought or does this seem highly possible for a company that will nickel and dime you at every thing possible.
This is upsetting as I've been with the company for a very long time and will have to consider other options when my contract ends soon.

Sounds like you were at a Verizon Wireless Authorized Premium Retailer and not a Verizon Wireless Corporate store. Retailers are owned and operated independently of Verizon Wireless. All of the inventory in those stores is paid for by the proprietor out of pocket. They have to sell it. They shouldn't get away with putting a returned phone, defective or not, into a box and reselling it to someone else but it does happen.
At a corporate store if you have a defective device (very rare but it happens) and it needs to be exchanged for the same exact phone within 14 days there is no fee.
There are a couple of ways you can tell the difference between the two types of stores. First, below the big Verizon Wireless logo it will say Authorized Premium Retailer or the name of another company. Most people miss this when walking into one of these locations. Second, usually the phones on display are fake or non-working models. Third, your receipt is usually printed on 8 1/2" x 11" paper and not on regular receipt paper. It's a shame but I would call VZW customer support and see what can be done. When you purchase at one of these locations you must take it back there within the first 14 days. It's the same as if you went to Best Buy. After the first 14 days these locations won't even help you and they will direct you to a corporate store anyway. In which case a defective device is replaced with a Certified Like New Replacement no matter where it was originally purchased.

  • Restocking fee policy

I don't understand the restocking fee policy of $35.  I have been an AT&T customer for nearly 10 years and I have never returned a phone.  However, given the size of the IPhone 6 Plus, I returned it yesterday in exhange for an IPhone 6 and was charged a restocking fee of $35.  The phone was in excellent condition since I had used it for less than a week.  Perhaps more egregious was the fact that my screen protector was completely non-refundable.  I believe it cost $29.99.  Thanks

The restocking fee has been there for years. Once the phone is issued, it cannot be sold as new, that is one of the reasons for the restocking fee, to recoup to cost of not being able to be sold as new.
Most accessories are not returnable once the packaging has been opened.

  • Order Organizer - Actions - Restocking Fee

    I am using R12.0.6.
In order organizer I have a user who is missing the option to add a restock fee to an RMA. Where does one enable/disable the ability to see and apply a restock fee?

I don't think so as they're functions which you can control at responsibility level via exclusions or menu but not TTBOMK within the form.
However, if all you want to do is to prevent users from copying particular order types you could use a forms personalization workaround. Not 100% ideal but it does the job (it works by removing the 'OK' button from the copy window and showing a message that the function is not available).
You'll need 2 x persos, one to remove the ok button and display the message for certain order types and the other to put back the OK button for all other order types.
    Perso1:
    Event = WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE
    Obj = COPY.CREATE_ORDER
    Condition = :ORDERS_SUMMARY.ORDER_TYPE IN ( ... put your order type exclusions here ... )
    Action Seq = 10
    Action Type = Message
    Message Type = Warn
Message Text = This action is not available for this order type
    Action Seq = 20
    Action Type = Property
    Object Type = Item
    Target Object = COPY.OK_BUTTON
Property Name = DISPLAYED (APPLICATIONS COVER)
    Value = FALSE
    Perso2:
    Event = WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE
    Obj = COPY.CREATE_ORDER
Condition = :ORDERS_SUMMARY.ORDER_TYPE NOT IN ( ... put your order type exclusions here ... )
    Action Seq = 10
    Action Type = Property
    Object Type = Item
    Target Object = COPY.OK_BUTTON

  • Best buys restocking fee on exchanges

Would anyone happen to know if Best Buys will charge me a restocking fee if I exchange my macbook pro 13' for an air ?  I would be paying two hundred dollars more for the air and everything is neatly packed back in the box...... but I'm also about four days past my return date!!    I really love the mac pro, but it is a bit heavy to carry around if I should decide to return back to college.....also the glare on the screen is causing great eye strain(aging eyes) and I understand that the glare on the AIR screen is very little glare!  ....Also, it is a bad feeling to hear that a new line of pro's could be coming soon and that  they could be light weight like the air!!  but on the other hand I do realize that the pro can be updated in the years to come and the air can't.... but still I hate the fact that a 100lbs woman got stuck with one of the heavy 13' laptops around ..compared to all the other 13' laptops out there!!   I get the feeling that the pro was on sale because new ones might be coming in soon!  I realize that I can't keep up with changing Apple, but just wish to make the right choice, because I wish to keep it a long time.  Any thoughts would be helpful or how I could exchange it at best buys??

call Best Buy.  This forum is not for questions about Best Buys policies.

  • 15 % restocking fee for my customized but undelivered laptop

Hello, everyone.  i am an international student. Last Monday, I customized a satellite laptop and it is scheduled to arrive at my house next week. Yet, I changed my mind and today called customer service to cancel my order.
Surprisingly, Toshiba says that my ordered but not yet delivered laptops is subject to a 15% restocking fee. If at all, I think that at least I need to pay less for a restocking fee when I canceled my order before shipping.
Could you give me any tips on how I get the laptop returned without paying the restocking fee? Again, I have not gotten it yet. For an international student like me, $500 is big money. I need  your help.

Try going to http://expresslane.apple.com to get directly in touch with the iTunes people.  They will have access to your account and maybe can help you out.

  • Restocking fee for faulty EXCHANGE?

lets say a unit is faulty to some degree and it is taken back as purchased with recipt to apple store for a replacement, not a return... is there a re-stocking fee?
    thank you.

As a ln At&t rep i can tell you that we are not processing exchanges in the store for defective iphones. Apple has made it clear to us that all phone related problems are to be forwarded to the apple iphone service hotline or corporate apple stores. The 10% restocking fee for iphone exchanges would only apply if one opened the phone and then decided to exchange it for another make of phones. All service and iphone for iphone exchanges are handled by apple, per there directive.
