Settlement of process order

In PP-PI  We want to use active ingredient for scenario:
Our Raw material is MINING ORE which will have varying proportion of COPPER & COBALT.
Valuation of ORE is based on itu2019s content of COPPER & COBALT content. So we will use active ingredient to capture value of this raw material based on it content of CU & CO.
Now when we issue this material for production to process order, our semi finished output ( Say SFG1) will also have varying content of COPPER & COBALT based on kind of input quality. There will several process orders doing diff. processe.
Now my query is
1)     Can we settle the process order variance to COPPER & COBALT content of SFG1 instead of normal settlement to SFG1?
2)     Can I maintain my valuation of SFG1 based on COPPER & COBALT content?
3)     Do we have any user exit or BADI available to replace SFG1 with CO& CU in process order settlement rule?
4)     In standard cost estimate can we capture COPPER & COBALT characteristics?
Ultimately COPPER & COBALT are our finished goods.
I try to search sap help but not much info to help me on this.
Your input will be highly appreciated.
Nitesh

Hi,
The concept explained is typically a co-product scenario:
Ore produces SEMI COPPER and SEMI COBALT.  SEMI COPPER and SEMI COBALT produce FIN COPPER and FIN COBALT.
This scenario is covered under u2018CO-PROUDUCTu2019 concept.  Here Ore is Raw Material, SEMI COPPER and SEMI COBALT are SEMI-PRODUCT and finally COPPER and COBALT are Finished Product.
Now estimate the standard cost for your SEMI-PRODUCTS and FINISHED PRODUCTS using integrated BOM.  Sit with your PP Consultant who can give you good input for costing the products whether based on quanity yield or quality yield.
Once this is tested and found the results are expected, the solution can be freezed.
Please let me know your feed back.

Ashok

  • Settlement of process order in G/L account

    Dear Guru
In our client scenario for FG we are using "V" as price control. During settlement of process order the variance amount is hitting in the "stock of fg produce" + and "cogm"  - ve entry.
but our client need the variance (balance) of order to be hit in separate G/L account in steed of cost of goods manuf.
In OBYC for transaction "GBB" in which general modification we need to assign the req g/l account.
if i am wrong pl give me some solution to solve the above requirement.
i know that if price control "s" is used it will hit price diff account.
if any other details required pl reply.

Check GBB/AUA.  If GBB/AUA is not maintained, then it will use GBB/AUF.

  • Settlement of Process order aginst the Sale Order

    Dear friends
This the scenario with respect to product cost by sale order settlement profile. When I am settling the process order, which is created with reference to Sale order, system throwing an error "Define a settlement cost element for receiver type SDI".
When I see the explanation given by system, the following message displayed :
    "Diagnosis
In allocation structure Z1 (controlling area RI01), you did not define which cost element should be used when settling costs/revenues of the sender. Nor did you define receiver type SDI.
    Procedure
Assign a different allocation structure to the settlement sender (-> Master data -> Settlement rule -> Goto -> Settlement parameters), or maintain allocation structure Z1.""
For this I have defined one Secondary cost element and assigned to Allocation Structure under Settlement cost elements.
Still I am getting the error. What could be the reason?
    Please do the needful.

    Hi Kiran
In the Allocation Structure Z1, you need to define the Settlement cost element for the receiver category SDI. Have you done that?  Cost element should be created with 21 Cost element category.
    Dont Select By Cost element.

  • Settling the Process Order to a Sales document Item

    Hi all,
I have a unique scenario.. I want a forecatsed Service material (Treating it as MTS Material) to be settled against a Sales Document Item (SDI). (It is like a combination of MTS and MTO).
We have maintained a ne w Order Type with a new settlement rule. Every time I create a process Order, I want to enter the settlement rule on the overview screen. I get the following error.
"Settlement account assignment" not allowed (Sys. status NoMP, object VB0000000236000010)".
Does any of you have faced similar issue?
Is there a solution for this?
    Thanks in Adavance..

    Nanjund:
the key here seems to be the strategy for the material.
According to your requirement, the alternative could be strategy 50.
    Process:
    - sales plan for the material
    - planning for the material will create Unconvertible planned orders (this allows the planning of raw materials )
    - enter the sales order
    - planning under these conditions will reduce PIR and create a "normal" planned order
    - Convert to process order
    - settlement will be directed to the sales order.

  • Process order settlement driven by T030 & TKA3C vs settlement from recipe

We settle all process order cost (consumption, production, and variances) to the cost center (or P&L).   These settlements are driven by a hard coded structure (by valuation class) and tables T030 & TKA3C.
I suggest that this is not common SAP practice.  This is certainly not SAP best practice.   I believe this has resulted in the proliferation of valuation classes and cost elements (in order to settle production differently.)   Does it make sense to have over 300 valuation classes?   Can you please confirm?
I suggest that we only need to settle production order variances and activity cost!  The correct settlement should be defined as part of the resource (and recipe group).   We already define this but they have no consequence because of the configuration of our SAP.  Should settlement should be recipe driven and not material driven!  It would not mater what the valuation class of the consumed materials, or the produced materials.  Settlement would be defined by the resource attached to the recipe.
How does SAP overide the resource (cost center), and activity (cost center) attached to the recipe with tables T030 & TKA3C?

  • Process order settlement error

    Hi all
while doing settlement of process order in KO88, system throwing the follwing error.
'' valuation data for the material is being locked by the user xxxxxx'' .     If we check in transaction: SM12 , here system showing MARA, MARC tables being locked.
Some background jobs also running which include MARA,MARC tables.   so please suggest me the best way to do settlement of process orders.  The background jobs should not stop.
    thanks
    sapproduction

    HI
At the  same time one masters like material WC or PV cannot be processed the database tables used are locked while processing the same to get resolve this  check the time  of scheduled jobs which uses tables like MARA MARC after the finish of these jobs you can process the settlement if you get unlock the data from T code SM12 there is possibility of getting data lost. so
you can define your settlement process and schedule it just after the completion of those previous Jobs.
    Check and revert

  • Process order settlements not flowing into BI for Inventory

    Hi,
I built a cube for inventory based on the standard extractors to generate MAC values. I have three MAC reports, each for daily, weekly and monthly. The reports give the right values at the at the month level , but  whenever there is a settlement for process order done, BI does not pick the settlement value and this makes the MAC value shoot up at the daily and weekly level. I tried to a find an extractor for this settlement and could not find any. Can someone please help me with this ? Is there any datasource for settlement of process order?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Both Tomas and Debraj have provided good tips.  Let me elaborate on this.
From SWU3, access Maintain Runtime Environment -> Schedule Background Job for Missed Deadlines by double clicking on it and execute it. You could maintain the interval until next deadline check.  You could keep the number low.
Also, if you have the event queue turned on, some times the work items will stuck in the queues and took a long time for them to be available.

  • In Process Order status "SETT" Settled

    Hi
After settlement of Process Order, system status (SETT - Settled) of Process Order is not updating atomically.
After settlement of Process Order, Process Order allow only in Display mode & there is no posting allow against settled Process Order.
Please suggest me what are the setting required.
    Regards
    ARK

    ARK,
In your order type dependent parameters in transaction COR4, for you plant order type combination for Process documentation "Order record" radio button is active, that's why system is not allowing you to set deletion flag.
Are you working on a client system or a training system where you are just trying to test different scenarios?
If you are working in training system then in COR4 transaction for the plant order type combination you can activate the radio button for "No process documentation required". Now if you check the order it would allow you to set deletion flag.
If you are working on a project and client system, you need to ask the user to execute transaction COPA to store the order records, once this is done you would be able to set the deletion flag. (Please note: Before you execute transaction COPA necessary basis setting for storing has to be in place.)

  • Settlement of Partial deliveries of process orders

Is it possible to do a monthly settlement on a process order that spans multiple months? (Without calculating Work in Process)

    Hi,
If the process order is a cost collector then it will calculate the WIP if qty is not exausted or TECO status is not updated.
When you settle the process order it will transfer the variances  and stock to Accounts.
If you want to settle the process order without WIP then you need to update that with Tech completed and then settle on monthly basis. This can be a work arround but not recommended.
    This may help

  • Settlement of Sale Order to Sale Order

    Dear experts
I need help in the following scenario:
At my client place we are doing job work for external material. All the material are supplied by the customer and our client will do the processing and send it back to customer's customer on customers request.
To create Excise Invoice against the Customers Customer we are handling through 2 sale orders.
First One Sale order will be created against the Customer Order and Sale price will be the selling price of Customers to Customer.
Second Sale Order will be created for Job Work Charges for the processing the materials.
On settling the process orders all the cost is settling to Sale Order One, Clients revenue is coming from Sale Order Two.
Here I need to settle the First Sale Order to Second Sale Order. I have given the second sale Order number in first sale order number in Settlement rule.
But when I settle the First sale Order all the amount it going to Price Differance Account.
How to settle the Cost of First Sale Order to Second Sale Order?

  • Post implementation COPA Issue - Variances not setteled for process orders

    Hi Experts,
The client implemented COPA in the FY 2011. There were many process orders existing in the system prior to implementation of COPA. Now the client trying to archive the old process order and trying to set deletion flag  and system throwing error message u2018variances were not calculated fullyu2019.
But client saying orders were settled and no variances existing prior to COPA implementation.
    My queries are:
    1. The orders are created prior to COPA Implementation and they were settled as well long back.  After COPA implementation why system calculating variances once again.
    2. How can I check whether the variances got settled for the process order?  Please give me the report or transaction code?
    3. Can I settle the variances to COPA Transfer structure now for the orders which were created before COPA Implementation and what will be the impact?
    Regards
    Sri laxmi

    Hi Sri,
It should be settle the process orders before COPA implementations and find below my answers point by point.
1.System will not calculate again variance, once you settle the process orders, you can close the orders, so it will improve the system efficiency and system will those orders in future to calculate the variances.
2.are u try to close the order, if it is settle the order, system will allow to close the order or vice-versa.(T.code-ask PP consultants).
3.i have mentioned clearly, previous reply,it should not be open orders.
please let me know any further information is required.

  • Is calculation of variance in Process Order Mandatory

    Dear PP Gurus,
I would like to know is Variance Calculation is Mandatory Befor Performing Settlement for Process Orders ,Once the Order is Technically Completed. What implications will be  there if I perform Settlement Transaction(KO88) Directly with out Perfoming Variance Calculation.
    Regards
    Varma

as per my understanding,Varinace key  in Material masster costing view controls whether order has to undergo Variance calcualtion or not before Settlement.
If Varinace key is maintained the variance is calcualted between the Target and actual paramentes.
If not, still the varince is  seen in the cost analysis report.but against the Planned and actual parameters.
However you can do the Settlement without Varinace calculation.

  • CO and Process order without material using T. Code CORO

    Hi
We need to use Process Order without material functionality for recording "changeover" time and cost (i.e. setting up process for production of other material in a production line).
For this purpose we have configured a separate process order type. We have created a separate activity for Changeover and planned rates using KP26.
Now we create Process Order without material using T. Code CORO and confirm it using COR6N. On confirmation system successfully credits Cost Center.
    We need to know:
    1) whether we should settle the process order as well or no need to assign settlement profile to Order Type
    2) Or should we run Cost Estimate first.
Plz help, if any have idea

Thank you all for your valuable input.
Srinivasa, your suggestion is very good, especially when calculation of variances/WIP is required. But again as there is no cost relevant material where the WIP/Variances will be settled during settlement process?
    1) PP need to create process order without material because changeover cost should not be charged to either material and capacity hours are consumed during changeover. 2) CO need to identify the cost of changeover which should be charged to cost center. So far we have achieved both of these two objectives by the following activities:
Creation of Process Order without material using CORO T.Code     say 3 hours of changeover occurred we create order with quantity of 3 Hours. And confirmation of activities quantity 3 using COR6N so cost center is credited by 3 x rate per hour. As there is a separate Process Order type for Changeover we can identify changeover quantity and cost in a given period.
After contributors feedback in this thread I have come to conclusion that I don't need to assign Settlement Profile and PA Structure to Changeover Process Order type. So no need to run Process Order settlement. As there is no specific required for Changeover WIP/Variances as well.
