Hi everyone
This is our first clue in the Spot the Community Manager competition.
We’ll start with an easy one…
If you are on the front page of the community and click on the broadband tag you will get a list of posts that have been tagged with the word broadband.  Find the post about broadband dropping when the user switches on their TV… you might spot me there!  This is what you are looking for:
Remember to copy and paste the thread URL and send to me in a private message.

Hi Everyone
It's our last clue today - make sure you use all the clues to find the pics to enter the competition!
In Clue 2 we mentioned sticky threads on the Vision board.  There are sticky threads on every board – worth checking them out as they have help and advice on solving the most common queries we see.
For the final clue we will venture into the Phones board and find out what to do if you have trouble with your BT phone – check out the sticky threads here and you’ll find the last pic.
All the pictures will be removed at 10pm this evening so you need to look for them before then.
Remember to copy and paste the 5 thread URLs for every picture and send to me in a private message
Full details and terms and conditions for the competition can be found here
Happy Spotting!

  • PC Suite Communications Manager Blank Messages

    Hi,
I am using Windows XP SP3 with PC Suite 7.1.30.8. I am connecting to my Nokia 5310 through Bluetooth.
When I use the communications manager in PC suite to check on the SMSes on my phone, I see 5 blank messages. No matter how I try to delete these messages thru PC Suite, they always show up again when I sync. However on my phone itself, these blank message do hot show up. Example: I see 10 regular SMS and 5 blank SMS in PC suite, but when I access SMS directly on my phone, I only see the 10 regular SMS but not the 5 blank SMS.
Any way I can delete these blank SMSes?
    Thanks

  • AT&T Communications Manager reinstall problem

I'm running a MacBook Air with OS X 10.8.1.   I bought an AT&T USBConnect Force 4G, and the AT&T Communications Manager software installed correctly when the device was connected.  After installation Communications Manager wanted to update and I let it, and the update failed.  So, I tried to uninstall Communications Manager by dragging it to the trashcan (I'm fairly new to the Mac community and, silly me, trusted AT&T to write a proper Mac program to uninstall this way!) As it turns out, AT&T says one must use the Communication Manager uninstaller or files will be left behind.  Ok, Ok, I didn't read that instruction and I screwed up.  I get that.
Problem is, I cannot reinstall the AT&T Communications Manager software. When I try to reinstall, the program says it can't install because there's a newer version of the Communications Manager already present.  I cannot find the files I need to delete--as I said, I'm a fairly recent convert to Mac, and I don't really know how to navigate around in the OS X file system very well.  I tried Time Machine but that didn't work.
Please advise as to how I would locate the files I need to delete...
    Thanks much,
    Roger

Well, my experience with T-mobile and Verizon WWAN installers finds that they splatter stuff all over the system including kernel device drivers. Sounds like at&t is no different. Simply dragging the visual application icon to the trash never completely uninstalls this crud.
I use a Mac application called Pacifist developed by CharlesSoft dot com. It is $20 shareware that also has a countdown try button. It installs in /Applications and launches as a graphical tool. Drag the original at&t installer onto Pacifist and it will then present a hierarchy of the installation file names and locations. Once you have this detective information, you can surgically remove the indicated files from your system.
Your are new to the Mac community. Are you new to the UNIX terminal command line? If yes, then you should allow someone else more experienced with the terminal interface to follow the above approach, because one wrong move with terminal file removal and you could find yourself re-installing OS X. Also, if TimeMachine has been backing up your entire system, you have this undesireable installation in your back-ups. A wrong restore could re-create your problems.

  • VBAI Development Toolkit, Custom Plugin: How to get TCP data / connection ID configured in VBAI Communication Manager?

    Hello,
I would like to create a custom plugin using the VBAI Dev. Toolkit. I'm using VBAI 2010 with LabView 2010.
In this step I would like to send a TCP message over a TCP connection defined in VBAI Communication Manager. How can I get the open Connection ID? Or do I have to open the connection in the Plugin? In this case, how to get the defined TCP data from the Communication Manager?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards,
    Yellow

Yes you could. You can even create a simple VBAI inspection that uses the TCP step and then migrate it to LabVIEW to see how VBAI opens the connection and uses it in the TCP step. It may be more involved if you want to allow the user to configure all the TCP settings (IP Address/port) and have all your custom steps use the same settings (maybe save them to an INI and have all steps use the same INI to get the settings).
    Hope this helps,
    Brad

  • Change Community Manager for Socialcast

I am listed as the contact (i.e., Community Manager) for our Socialcast site, but when I login, I don't have the option in the gear drop-down for admin settings. Is there a way to correct this?
My current email address is not in the same domain as the community so my default community is not the same as the one for which I am listed as the Community Manager.
I appear to belong to the community since it shows up in the same gear drop-down, but when I click on it to switch to that community, it asks me to login again. When I do, I get a message telling me my creds are not recognized.

We are responding to you via email. Stay tuned!

  • Introduce yourself to the community!

    Hey all,
This thread can be used to introduce yourself to the community. Just say hello or maybe even add a little bit about yourself. Whatever you feel comfortable with I'll start it off I'm Yannick, I joined Telstra in July, but have been lurking around for quite a while now. I'm the community manager here at CrowdSupport so should you have any suggestion or need anything, don't hesitate to give me a shout!
So that’s a bit about me and I am looking forward to seeing you all in the forums soon!
    Yannick Pierre in Melbourne
    Telstra Digital Sales & Service

    Hi Everybody!
I'll start the introduction ball rolling with an introduction of myself: my Earth name is Dylan, and this the first time I've ever used the word "introduction" so many times in a sentence. I have been sent here from my home planet to help you use these forums in the most efficient and effective way possible. I am well versed in a number of languages including English, and some others that I can assure you aren't made up. I have been working at Telstra for nearly four years now, helping customers via phones, email and live chat before a year ago joining our Social Media team and talking to you via Twitter, Facebook and Whirlpool where I have learnt all sorts of new acronyms.
My job here will be to moderate the forums, review flagged posts, and occasionally to step in and join the conversation every now and then when it is needed. I'll do my best to help in any way that I can. But that's boring* so let's talk about me.
I love a good game, and spend most of my spare time attached to my PS3 playing NBA 2K11, and have been playing the GTAs ever since the very first overhead view one. I'm still plugging away with an iPhone 3GS that is starting to get a bit long in the tooth, but is still probably the best mobile phone I've ever used. I have been a Port Adelaide since before I can remember (or at least I'm told that). I look forward to seeing you on the forums, although if I have to delete something you've said then I obviously won't be looking quite as forward to that. I really thought you were above that <shakes head>.
    See ya round!
    -Dylan
*Not a guarantee that the next bit will be less boring.

    Hello Robert,
Apologies for a delayed response, some days get very hectic.
In CallManager, we only define the SRST reference, and CUCM version and SRST version are independent of each other.
The only thing, which is related and will change with CUCM upgrade is Phone F/w version.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/ccmcompmatr1.pdf
You may just want to check your, phone f/w compatibility with the SRST version running on your ISR G1 Gateways:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2169/products_device_support_tables_list.html
    For Example: SRST version 7.1
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/vcallcon/ps2169/data_sheet_c78-520521.html
You may want to do some lab testing with CUCM 9.1 and an SRST supported f/w on your phones.
If you decide to run the old Phone/F/w to support the SRST version, you may not be able to take advantage of new features.
Also, you can try and upgrade your phones(Wih CUCM 9.1) and test them with your SRST version.
It should work fine, but from a troubleshooting perspective, TAC may request you to come into a Cisco Supported combination.
Please, let me know if this clarifies your doubt or we can have a quick phone call.
    Regards
    Amit Singh

    Hi Maheshwar,
Thank you for your query. Please find my response below:
1> Do we support recording with HCS environment and which 3rd party vendors are validated with HCS based call control 10.1.1?
Answer: Whether you use a standalone UCM cluster, UCCE or HCS, call recording would be supported across the board in the same manner.

  • Error communicating with the Cluster Manage Web Service

    Hi,
i connected oracle database with the Endeca Studio but while uploading Departments dataset i m getting this error
"Error communicating with the Cluster Manage Web Service" so plz can anyone explain me wat is this error about.
    thanks in advance

I actually ran into this myself- as Pat notes, it's hard to say without seeing log files, but I think that perhaps the default domain profile that the Endeca Server uses for domains created using Provisioning services has not been created.  First see what domain profiles exist.  Navigate to wherever endeca-cmd lives (e.g., user_projects/domains/endeca_server_domain/EndecaServer/bin), and use the list-dd-profile command:
    -bash-3.2$ ./endeca-cmd.sh list-dd-profiles
The profiles that exist will be returned in your terminal window:
    prov_dd_profile
    default
If you only see 'default', then you will need to create 'prov_dd_profile'
    ./endeca-cmd.sh put-dd-profile prov_dd_profile
Then try uploading your file again in Studio.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

  • How to find all the changes management details (thr DB tables or FMs)

    Hi Experts,
Could anyone please tell me how to get all the Change management details.
I mean are there any database tables or FM through which I can get all the Changes Management(CHARM) details.
    like status,priority,texts,descriptions etc...
I need them for an interface....
    Thanks
    Yogesh Gupta

    Hi,
Yet another request to use my crystal ball.
We had one pc which is having oracle 9i enterprise manager configured(windows 2000) only to connect the db.
This remembers me of the Gospel of St. Luke, chapter 2, where it is stated,
'and they found the child in the manger'.
This resulted a Jewish theologian to remark: 'The manger? Well, so that must have been their own manger'
So what does 'the' db mean? The Linux one? Or a separate on Win2000?
It is quite possible to manage a Linux database using OEM on Win2000, with OMS on Win2000.
'But our server is not having enterprise manager'. Yet another riddle. Which server? There seem to be at least two.
1 Now if I drop these tables, will I be able to connect to our database using the windows2k pc through Enterprise Manager?
Yes, but only in standalone mode, and you can't use OEM alerts, and jobs anymore. You would be better off using Sqldeveloper, as OEM Sql worksheet is a nightmare.
    2 That is your decision.
    3
    oemctl ping oms
will check whether you have an Oracle Management Server running.
You already seem to have the Enterprise Manager Repository, so you must have OMS running somewhere. (Why install the repository, if you don't use it)

  • Suggesting a change to the monthly guru competition

I have recently entered a number of articles in the wiki competition.
There don't seem to be very many actual rules to this competition beyond:
•The article must be submitted that particular month.
•There can only be one winner.
I see a fault in the system.
Pretty much all the recognition seems to go to gold and I can't really see much value in getting a silver or bronze.
If the aim is to encourage more articles of higher quality then this is counter productive.
If I think I'm not going to get a gold for my article because someone else has posted what I consider to be a better article then my best interest is served by not submitting my article.  Hold back and see what happens next month.
If I am competing with one other individual each month then we would do better to collude.
If I agree with my competitor we publish on alternative months then we both have a better chance of gold and less chance of "wasted" effort.
This would also be true if there were several competing individuals.
I suggest a slightly different mechanism.
Perhaps the gold, silver bronze award could be made purely on quality.
That way contributors are not actually competing with each other and there is motive to post a good article even if someone else has already.
It's not like Microsoft are casting huge gold medals which cost big bucks per award.
If you give out 2 or even 3 in a month it costs nothing more.
And the community quite possibly gets extra articles.
There is less motive for negative collusion or cynical gamesmanship.
Competitors would even be able to help each other out without damaging their own chances of winning.
I see this point as a significant plus in improving article quality.
If I lose nothing by improving an article then it's a good idea.
If I risk losing out on the chance of gold then I'd be a bit silly to improve a competitors article.
When you just get the one article then the judges don't have to think up a reason not to make that article the winner.
The article is either a gold or it isn't.
    Hope that helps
Please don't forget to up vote answers you like or which help you and mark one(s) which answer your question.

There are three winners per category... Gold, Silver, Bronze.
The value of Silver and Bronze is kind of like in the Olympics. It's so competitive that if you don't get first place, it's still INCREDIBLY IMPRESSIVE. You're up against the best of the best!
Of course, this is just an opinion. That's all we have here... opinions.
"If I think I'm not going to get a gold for my article because someone else has posted what I consider to be a better article then my best interest is served by not submitting my article.  Hold back and see what happens next month."
Or you can make your article better!!!
"If I agree with my competitor we publish on alternative months then we both have a better chance of gold and less chance of "wasted" effort."
I'll recommend he stabs you in the back and takes all the gold! Mwahahahaha!!!
Or someone else will just come in to compete with both of you.
"Perhaps the gold, silver bronze award could be made purely on quality. That way contributors are not actually competing with each other and there is motive to post a good article even if someone else has already. It's not like Microsoft are casting

    Good idea with well-thought-out benefits.
We'll discuss it. But ultimately, the way we work is that the person who does the work gets to pick the rules.

The only way I can stop the EM Console (and related services--i.e., emagent) is to kill its process.
Everything (Listener, DB Instance, EM Console) starts fine. I can stop the Listener and DB Instance without any problems. It's just the EM Console shutdown that doesn't happen cleanly.

  • Updated CC today .. now the app manager is indicating only ten apps are now installed.

I updated all apps today as per normal via the CC App Manager. All apps successfully updated, until Photoshop, which failed to update. I tried more than several times to update but it kept failing.
I then decided to close the CC Manager and restart. When I accessed the Manager again and went to View Updates & Requests, the list indicated only ten apps were installed, and the rest had to be installed (AGAIN).  I  checked my Applications Folder and all the CC apps were still installed and working.
I haven't received any error messages. However when I returned to the website the apps were indicating for me to download trial versions. My CC account is current and paid up til March 2016. Now I have just  accessed my Adobe ID account and checked under Plans & Products section, but it is indicating I have no No Registered Products.
So currently my Adobe Creative Cloud Manager is indicating I have ten apps up to date (Lightroom 5, Acrobat XI Pro, Edge Animate CC, Edge Code CC, Edge Inspect CC, Edge Reflow CC, Extendscript Toolkit CC, Flash Builder Premium, Gaming SDK 1.4, Scout CC) but all other key applications have the install icon by their side (Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC ...etc).
I started on Photoshop 4 many years ago and have never had any issue with any of the Creative Suite's. I also had issue with my Adobe ID not being accepted, even when copy/pasting from my Keychain Access. I had to reset my password (used the same password anyway).
My confidence in Creative Cloud is now somewhat diminished and I am considering canceling my CC subscription and returning to CS5 - because it works!
EDIT: Since starting to write this the Adobe ID/ Community site has logged my account out unexpectedly. Not good.
    Adobe Creative Cloud v 1.9.1.474
    Yosemite 10.10
    MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid-2014)
    2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    APPLE SSD SM0256F: 256GB
    Intel Iris Pro 1536MB

I decided to uninstall Adobe Desktop Manager and reinstall, and seems to have remedied all of the CC apps issue...
However still getting randomly logged out of my account and my password is not being accepted...
Only way I got access again was to open three instances of the log in page and try again - third window opened, other two declared my password was wrong >_<
This new online / cloud system is terrible. Might just reinstall CS5 anyway and be done with this crap. Meh!
