Subcontracting location as a plant

Dear  all,
Please guide how we can map the following process requirement in SAP:
1) Supply of raw material to ext vendor for processing.
2) Production of finish material at subcontractors location.Production process is very complicated and involves various steps.
3) Sale of this finish material directly from subcontractors location with our invoice.
4) Payment to vendor based on finish production work done.
All material are excisable and process needs excise rules and constraints to be followed.

    we have the stock for the component in the storage location :
    Storage Location A 10 PZ

    In the planned order for this component there is the storage location A.
    The ATP check ( in the transaction MDVP) confirm the quantity only in the storage location A, but i would like confim the quantity stock of all the storage location, also having to maintain the storage location A in the position of the component in the planned order.
    For example for the planned order the requirement for this component is 30 pz , when i run the atp check the system confirm only 10 pz in the storage location A present in the position of the component, but i need confirm all quantity because present in others storage location, also having to maintain the storage location A in the position of the component in the planned order.
    I need see in the avalaible ATP check all the storage location of the plant, there are the customizing setting or material master setting.

    Daniele,
    First determine which ATP check is being used for your planned orders in OPPJ under plant or MRP group.  Then, also in OPPJ, under 'Determine Check', modify that availability check by ticking the 'no stor locn inspectn' box.
    Perhaps you can advise your 'friend' [Luca Malavasi|http://forums.sdn.sap.com/profile.jspa?userID=841888], of this response as well.  He has asked the same question.

    I won't blindly assume that a single person is using more than one userid on these forums.  Many of the moderators do not permit this practice..

    Hi,
    In OPJJ "Scope of Check" Under "storage location Inspection" check the box against " No storage loc Inspection"
    This indicator is used to set the scope of the availability check. It is used to switch off the check at storage location level.
    Test this and revert back

    Hi Dushyant,
    one storage location to different plants....
    Is Possible in Statistical way.
    E.g Plant 1000 : Sloc : 0001
    Plant 1100 : Sloc : 0001
    Plant 1200 : Sloc 0001 :: Up to...". n " no. of plants
    In above case it is possible.
    However these are not Logical Units. Having said this Plant 1000 and Sloc. 0001 is one unit. similarly Plant 1100 and sloc 0001 is another Units. etc. in consideration to Inventory Management i.e Stock valuation.
    Material Creation and Extension. etc.
    Hence You can very well give same storage location no. to "N"  number of plants, however they are not the same for operational prospective.

  • Stock valuation different for different storage location in same plant

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    Please provide me a detailed idea and solution for this.
    My client has simulated several transactions in MM.
    Say it has two storage location 1110 and 1120 under plant 1100
    Now in 1120 there are stock movements pertaing to a project (includes stock transafers from 1110 and issues made to project)
    Finally, the MB52 report is showing valuation of stock (unrestricted) at different rates for 1110 and 1120.
    My client is raising issue, saying the value should be same for stock under a single plant as valuation is done at plant level.
    Also, both the stock is under unrestricted category, so valuation should be same.
    What could be the issue?
    Any solution?
    The auditors will raise issue over this.
    Please help ASAP.

    Hi Sumit,
    In valuation using the moving average price (price control u201CVu201D), the system valuates goods receipts with the purchase order price and goods issues with the current moving average price.
    So, for Plant 1110 the rate could be the PO price used for procuring the material whereas for Plant 1120, it is the moving average price and hence the difference in rates.
    However the auditors would look after the Material Valuation at the Valuation Area level which is the Plant.

  • Transfer of stock between two storage locations within a plant in two steps

    Hi,
    We have a plant 6400 & we have two storage locations 6401 & 6402. Each storage location belongs to a department which are located at some distance from one another.
    The material to be moved from one storage location to another using a truck.
    For the above mentioned process can we have the following process
    (1) In first posting the material is issue from the storage location to a transit
    (2) In second posting the material from the transit is received into the storage location
    I am looking for a feature that is possible between two plants, can we have a similar feature available within a plant.

    It would be a business decision i suppose. If those 5 nos. are lost / damaged in transit & needs to be scrapped, then the ownership needs to be decided first. If it lies with the sender, then reverse the 5 nos. (MB1B mvt is 314) & then proceed with your scrapping or if it lies with the receiver then receive the 5 nos & then proceed with the scrapping.
    Posting in system is one aspect, but a clear business rule is the key factor. So discuss with your materials mgmt personnel to define the process flow.

    Dear Gurus,
    We r doing storage location to storage location transfer within same plant through purchase order.
    Due to excise requirement we have to raise excise invoice for the same for captive consumption purpose.
    Is it possible to make it One step procedure so that GR will take place at same time as GI the way it works for plant to planrt.
    In ECC 6.0 option is there for transfer between storage location. I configured but it is not working.
    Please check the same.

    The proceedure you are following is a bit wierd. But I think this is as per your business requirements.
    You can continue to follow the same proceedure as this may  not be possible through one step movement type.

    Enter MM17
    Select table MARD
    Select fields tab
    find MARD-LVORM
    Execute (F8)
    Enter list of materials
    Enter plant
    enter storage location.
    tick the field lvorm(carry out mass change)

    We have recently upgraded our SAP 4.7 system to mySAP ERP 2005 ecc6.0.
    We are facing problem in report derived using tcode'MCJC' in Plant Maintenance.When we execute MCJC (MCJC - MTTR/MTBR Functional Location ) transaction, there is no data appearing in the report output.This report is used to get the functional locationwise data from maintenance order. The transactions are entered for creating maintenance order & notifications through IW31. This is getting updated in table s070.
    This is a standard report and was working fine in SAP 4.7.

                                            When you are saying that the Equipment is in Breakdown, it may happen that the whols FLock could be considered in Break down, but not necessary,
    say we take an Example of a Work Shop, where Mechanical Workshop is the Functional Location and it has N no of Equipments like Lath, Grinding m/c, Welding M/c, Shaper Etc.... in this case can you please tell me if only one of the above mentioned Equipment is under Break down can the Whole Mechanical Workshop be termed as under Shut down.
    What you are saying is correct in the Line Production, where we can have the Predessing as well as the Succeding Equipments, there for the Critical Equipment you generally have a Back-up Equipment, may be possible the capacity of the Backup might not be same as the mail Equipment, but still it can serve the Purpose for the Time Being. in that condition how can you say that the whole FLock is in Breakdown.

    Is there a way to view a table possibly (using SE16?) to view the Purchasing Group, Plant and Storage Location(s) for a given Material?

    Table MARC contains material/plant data, including purchasing group for a given material.
    Table MARD contains Material/plant/location data.

  • MCHB,MARD - Stock available at plant level and storage location level

    Hi ,
    How to determine how much stock available at Storage location level and Plant level. (Lot is not maintained).
    In MCHB-Stock at lot level is shown.
    In MARD-Stock at Storage Location level is shown lncluding
    the stock maintaned at the lot level.
    If i want to know the stock which is not maintained in Lot, i.e, Stocks directly maintained at Storage location / Plant.
    Do I need to subtract the MCHB Value from MARD Value ?
    Is there any other way available to find the stocks which is not maintained at lot level.

    Hi prashant,
    What do u mean by stock maintained at SL level without batch level.  Do u mean that some materials are subjected to batch management and some or not?
    If that is the case, for all batch managed materials, u can see the stock at batch level and also same is summed up at SL level.  But still what ever u are getting from MARD table isstock at SL level only.
    If u have activated batch management for any material, it will always be shown at lot level also.

    To control whether a particular storage location will be included or excluded from the MRP run.  (MD02/MD41).
    To exclude it from MRP run :-
    OMIR - Define storage location MRP per plant
    Put the MRP ind. as.         1 - storage location stock excluded for MRP
    To include it from MRP run:-
    OMIR - Define storage location MRP per plant
    Put the MRP ind. as.      space - storage location stock also planned at plant level and save it
    Next go to transaction MM01 - tick only view MRP 2
    Key in Plant and Storage Location
    Look at the Storage Location MRP section
    change the SLoc MRP indicator to space  and save it
    MMD1 - Create MRP Profile - MRP profile is a useful entry aid and makes it easier to manage MRP data.
    You define which fields are filled with values when MRP data is entered in the material master record, which of these values can be overwritten and which not.   You use the information stored in a profile is standard information that is needed again and again in similar constellations when material master records are maintained.

    Hello,
    As per standard SAP, one storage location can be assinged to one plant only not multiple plants.
    Ex. SL - 0001 eixst only under Plant - 1000.  The same SL 0001 exist in some other plant - 2000, that is not the same one, the address or location should be different.
    I hope understand my point.
    You can check the same in Table: T001L in R/3 system.

    Plant to plant subcontracting withing comapany code,
    Plant A will supply raw material to other plant B will receive Raw material with subcontracting challan,
    Plant B will process it and sent back to Plant A with Job work invoice by SD.
    My Query is How to Receive a Raw material in Plant B, Since the same material exist in the same plant A and same processing they are doing for the same material ( Splitting of Production process in both Plants )

    Hi,
    You cann't process the Subcontracting process b/w Plant to Plant within company code.
    For this you need to process the STO process.
    send the Raw material from Plant A to Plant B (Create STO from Plant B) through 351 mvt type and Plant B will recieve the material and process the material through PP in Plant B so that Finished material will be updated using the raw materials consumption through PP process.
    Then Create the STO from plant A to plant B then send the finished material to Plant B if the process needs the delivery & invoiceing create the STO with delivery for this finished material through SD process you can send the material.
