Timescale

i am a new user to P6. but i am wanting to edit the numbers at the top of the gantt chart for the timescale. is this possible?
this is how the numbers are listed; i have them in 'weeks' format.
-2, -1, 1, 2, etc...
this is how i want to have the week numbers listed:
-2, -1, 0, 1, 2, etc...

user13313068,
Sounds like you have already formated your timescale to view "ordinal dates".
Also the ordinal start date = "CW" current week. This will allow your timescale to display the numbers (-2, -1, 1, 2, etc...)
Your settings must be for ordinal date interval to = "Week" This allows you to view a countdown or "T Minus" type of look.
I really do not know how to make your timescale display a zero "0".
Most users have their timescales formatted to display calendar dates or "week of year". Do you have any flexibility as to how you can format your timescale other than the ordinal type?
hope this helps,

  • Timescale issue in MS Project 2010

I still get the timescale issue where the different scales show different out of sync displays. For example when you show half years on the top tier then quarters on the 2nd tier and months on the 3rd.
The half year scale only show H2 repeated across the screen,
The quarter tier starts the new year in the middle of the above tier H2
The 3rd quarter shows Dec as the start of the 4th quarter tier above.
I understand that Microsoft came out with a hot fix in April of 20012 for time scale issues. How do I check to see if this patch has been installed and does it fix this error?

    cliquidoxygen,
More importantly you should have SP2 for Project 2010 installed. It picks up all cumulative updates through June 2013. In addition, I suggest you also install the June 2013 cumulative update as it was released after SP2. You can get the SP2 update at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2687521.
The June 2013 update is at: http://support2.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=2817385&kbln=en-us.
However, it sounds like the issue have may be related to your fiscal year setting. Make sure you fiscal year setting is correct for your scenario. Take a look at Julie Sheet's wiki on the subject: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/28633.project-fiscal-year-display-in-views.aspx
    Hope this helps.

  • Java error on P6 Professional v8.2.2.8 TimeScale Logic Diagram

I just recently upgraded a test environment to the latest P6 Professional release 8.2.2 (build #:8206). Now the Timescale Logic Diagram get a java error, see below. Of course, the P6 web tool and database have been upgraded to 8.2.2.8. They seems to be working fine. This Timescale diagram use to work, now it is broken. I was wondering what is up?
In the error is mentioned the ViewProb table not be available. This table does exist in admuser and is full or rows. If the solution is to upgrade to java 1.7, then I am kind of screwed since that is not an option were I work.

I fixed this problem by purging Primavera Professional P6 SP1 off laptop computer and re-installing SP2 cleanly. When I mean purge, I mean uninstall using the Window's system admin panel, and remove any remnants from directories used by Primavera. I also cleaning out my temporary files folder and rebooted my computer before installing SP2 to make sure no services were running from SP1.
Timescale logic diagram seems to be working.
On other thing that may or may not be related: I also remove all Oracle client installs and re-installed a single clean 32bit Oracle client. I do not think Primavera uses Oracle's client, but I did this before I installed Primavera P6 Professional SP2.

  • Timescale at the bottom of Gantt Chart

    Hi,
In the old P3 application, we were able to put timescale at the bottom of Bars area, how can we do it with new P6.

    Sharyar ,
As far as I know that is not possible in the current version of P6.
But, you can have a timescale located on the bottom of your screen if:
Option #1: Set up either a "Resource profile or Activity profile" on the bottom section of your screen. I use them regularly and they easily print out displaying the timescale on the bottom of my layouts. But that's not the same as viewing a gantt chart :(
Option #2: If you do not need the timescale to be seen is to change the format of the timescale's shade & text color to "white".
Option #3: Maybe try to build a new report that displays a time phased look with weeks, months or years displayed on the top of each page.
Option #4: (least recommended) Take a screen shot of your schedule and modify the location of your timescale using a type of graphics software.
    Hope this helps,

  • How I can change timescale to show financial year

    Hi
I am currently facing a problem for timescale. Actually my projects working according to financial years and PM's want to see the bar chart accordingly.Even they want to see the FY / quater view in time scale. Is there any way to get that view in primavera 6.2.1.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Nirav Sheth

    Hello again Nirav,
Do you mean the on screen Gantt chart or in a print out?
For printed documents you can specify a start and finish in the Page Setup options - on screen, you can only set a start date (as far as i can tell).
If you right click on the Gantt chart and select Timescale, you get a series of options in there. But as you'll see, or probably have seen, there's no way of setting an end date. If it's just a case of showing it on screen, just resize the Gantt chart to fit the timescale you want - can't see a more intelligent way of doing it.
    Hope that helps

  • Could a timescale for when the wireless is available be set up please on WLC

    Hi
I have a number of AP's set up accross the different offices on our corporate network.
We have just installed an AP at a childres home and found that children are accessing the internet when the lights go out for bedtime. Is there a way of setting up a timescale when children are allowed on access?
    Thank you

If you have WCS/NCS or Prime you can schedule the WLAN said to be disable and it enabled by using a template also. Forgot about that one.

  • How to modify the timescale on the Timeline view in MSP 2010

I created Timeline's for some projects using MSP 2010.  Some Tinelines display quarters and others display months.  I can't find an option to change the Timeline timescale.  I tried switching the timescale onthe Gantt view but it
had no effect on the Timeline view.
Is there a direct or indirect way to change the timescale units on the Tineline view time scale?

Click in  the Timeline view and the ribbon bar for Timeline will be activated.  On the left side you should see Date Format.  Use this to select the date format you would like to view.
As i adjust the timescale using the zoom in the lower right corner it seems to be adjusting the date density.  Keep in mind that this view will also adjust to the density necessary to show the entire project in the view.  When you click on the
View tab (ribbon) you can use the option for the entire project.  Note that the Timescale options are not available.
I suggest for the best use of this view to use it at a high level.  What I recommend is to show summary and milestone taaks only.

  • Error message "Could not load TimeScale Filter" on Creative MediaSourc

Whenever I attempt to listen to a playlist, I get an error message. The message title is: Creative MediaSource\Playback Queue. The text of the message is:? Exception -- Create object: Exception: Object Not Found from: CTimeScaleFilter Message:"Could not load TimeScale Filter" At: Monday, March 03, 2008 9:3:29 PM. (Very informati've!)? What is the TimeScaleFilter and where can I find it's? This message pops up at the beginning of every playlist. I have to click on the "OK" button several times before the message disappears, and the list starts to play. Then, when the next song starts, the error message pops up again, which makes the player basically useless. Thanks in advance to anyone who knows what the problem is and can help me fix it. Oh how I wish I still had my Musicmatch program. Thanks to Yahoo, Musicmatch no longer exists. I hope that Yahoo suffers the same fate; but that's another story.

What is the exact version of your Creative MediaSource 5. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing your Creative MediaSource 5?

  • How to set the dvt:schedulingGantt TimeScale width ?

    Hi All
I'm using dvt:schedulingGantt with days as major timeScale and hours as minor timeScale. But the width of hours timeScale large than I want. Is there any attribute can set the width of timeScale ?

If you define a custom timescale:
    class UnaHoraTimescale implements CustomTimeScale
    private DateFormat format = new SimpleDateFormat("HH");
    private Calendar calendar = Calendar.getInstance();
    public String getScaleName()
    return "Hora";
And you use it, the size adapt to you format.
I use that because, the hour by default use HH:MM and it is too big for me.
Maybe, it exists a better solution, but I don't know.

  • SharePoint 2013 - change Gantt timescale to display in months by default

    Hello,
I've seen several posts with some html code for changing the Gantt timescale to display in months instead of days/weeks for

  • Timescale for firmware updates Lumia 520 ?

Can anyone explain why there is such a varience in which the same update gets released either from a phone supplier or Nokia.
For example I am with O2 in the UK. I asked about the Amber upgrade and the replies varied from "what is that I've never heard of it" to " We are not imformed of release dates so do not know" to a straight "no idea". to " keep checking in settings-phone-update"
AT & T have been selling the Lumia 520 for some time and their version has  Windows Phone 8 build 10327 (GDR2) and Nokia’s Amber firmware update already on board.
I can not see Amber for example being different in USA and UK or Swaziland for the same phone.
    So why such a delay
    A very impatient
    Keith
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There is a difference between a sim, free (factory unlocked/unbranded) device and a carrier released version.
your challenge with updates when you have a carrier branded device is that the carrier usually has very few updates to devices. And, their firmware versions are different, which include bloatware.
it is either software they are paid to put in devices, or their own renditions of billing, WiFi calling, mapping, etc stuff. So, before they do any updates of firmware and push it out, they have to do their own version of QC whereas factory unlocked devices get updates when ever the phone manufacturer releases them, which is usually more often.
even,if you get your device unlocked, it will still require that the carrier push the update. So the care reps are usually going to very uninformed unless they truly are involved in the tech side and have genuine interest to learn more. From a corporate perspective, they usually are scripted and clueless, which for the companies sake helps them not to create anymore confusion with the customer base then already is there.
as for the varients of,different countries, good to think about the regulations each country has, as well as some of the functionality of the device. Some countries don't have 3 or 4g service, or MMS is different, or there are frequency differences or regulations on what can be done. This goes far more deeper than just having the language available.
    hope that helps

  • Timescale for fcp workflow

hi, I am trying to price some future jobs which will involve editing 75 mins multicamera concert from mixed formats possibly from 2 x 7d canon camera a z5 hdv and a mini camera hxr mc-1 recording to avchd
I am new to editing in these formats and seeking advice for the rough time it will take to import convert, render, pro res etc and export to dvd. so i can price the job correctly.
    many thanks

This sounds like it could be a great job or a nightmare job.
A key to keeping this project in the "great job" range is to stipulate (in writing) how the footage needs to be delivered and that any variation will result in an hourly rate to correct the issue. For example, you might stipulate that each camera have recorded in 1080i 60 mode. If one of them comes back in 24p mode, then that's lost time to convert and you can submit a quote to correct it or correct it at an hourly rate.
(Actually, you might suggest that the same camcorders be used all around. Your AVCHD camcorder may come back with a dramatically different picture than your DSLR.)
Probably the best way for you to come up with some realistic numbers is to benchmark your workstation.
Shoot 10 minutes of video with a DSLR camera, a HDV camcorder and an AVCHD camcorder.
Then, start a timer. Copy the DSLR files over and convert the 10 minutes worth of footage in Compressor. Connect the HDV camcorder, capture the 10 minutes of footage from tape, then convert it in Compressor. Log and Transfer the 10 minutes of footage from the AVCHD storage media.
(I assume you'll be using Apple ProRes 422 HQ?)
Do this and anything else that will be needed to have the footage ready to edit.
Sync the clips to the audio. Edit the clips into something. Sweeten the audio (or add the audio?). Add title cards. Etc.
    Export to a self-contained QuickTime.
Encode the edited master to MPEG2 and AC3.
Author, build and format to DVD. (Will menus need to be designed, integrated and programmed, or are the DVDs going to be play only?)
    Stop the timer.
However long that takes, triple it (or at least double it).
In addition to getting an idea of how long it takes your computer to process that data, you need to have a sense of how long it will take you to do everything.
Are you doing this alone? In which everything needs to happen in sequence. Or, will you have a team? In which everything can be happening in parallel (while you're ingesting footage someone else can be designing menus). That will also affect how long it takes.
Anyway... that's my two cents worth. (And, if you needed a consultant, let me know --wink, wink.)

  • Timescale for moving home

    Hi,
We will be moving home on the 17th august then temporarily living with the inlaws for 4 weeks before getting in to our new home. We would like to transfer our existing telephone and broadband package from our old home to our new home. Does anyone know if this is possible with regards to the 4 week break in service we would have?
    Thanks,

Going by the number of complaints about moving home with BT it will take four weeks or more anyway! If you contact the following number they should be able to give you the information you are looking for.

See if you have this file on your system, this will record the sound input to a wave file.

Hi Cher, welcome to the forums,
I don't know where you sent the email to, but it's not uncommon for the warranty database not to be 100% accurate; Lenovo don't know in advance how long a system may be stored in a shop or warehouse before being sold.  There is a tollerance built in from the manufacturing date, but they cannot accurately calculate this for each individual system.
If you call support to open a support case the support representative will ask for your system's details including the serial number and see that the warranty has, according to the database, expired.  In such situations all that is required is for you to inform them of the purchase date, they will then request you to send a copy of your purchase invoice, by fax or email, to the entitlement team along with the service call number they issue you.
Once the entitlement team have adjusted the system's warranty status the call will proceed as normal.
