Transferring two PSTN Lines from Office to Home

Hello
I am a bit confused since I am new to this stuff.
At my office I have two PSTN lines and I would like to transfer them to my home via a WiFi link that's already established. I am looking for the cheeapest reliable solution. From the reasearch that I have done so far I think I need 2 FXS ports on the House side and 2 X FXO ports on the Office side. I can install two SPA 2102 or SPA 3102 (newer model) on the Office side and plug the two PSTN lines that I have there. I should connect both devices to my WiFi router and configure them as two different subscribers with two different IPs from my subnet. On my other WiFi router at my home I should connect one LinkSys PAP2T which has two FXS ports and plug there two analog phone devices.
      My questions are:
1. Does the above configuration sounds right?
2. Is there something that I should be aware of in the configuration of the devices?
3. Does the PAP2T support two different subscribers?
4. Will I have CLI on the analog lines at my home.
5. Where should I search for informations of such a configuration?
Thank you in advance

"On the office side" the SPA2102 does not have an FXO port.  The SPA2102 is essentially a PAP2T plus a router.  You would need two SPA3102's for the FXO ports to interface the PSTN Lines.
"On the house side" you could interface it with a PAP2T which supports two phone lines (two analog phone attachments).  You could also use the PAP2T and only use one of the phone lines if you only have one person answering the phones, i.e. forward the calls to a single address/number.  The adapters support call waiting.  You could also use either a two-line phone, or you could buy an ip phone such as a SPA941 or SPA942 and use a single or multiple ip lines.
The easiest way to configure it would be to use 3 (or 4) different voip accounts from a voip provider and send the calls from one account to another.  As an alternative, it is possible to use direct ip addressing and not use a voip provider but the configuration is more complicated and the voip provider also has an advantage in that they can give you a perhaps more sophisticated voicemail than a simple home answering machine.
If by CLI you mean Caller Line Identification or Caller ID, the SPA3102 can pickup the incoming Caller ID and send it along, but if you are using a voip provider you will probably only receive the Caller ID of voip provider account doing the sending, although you might find an exception.
Some people find the configuration process frustrating, particularly the direct ip calling.

  • Connecting to an ISDN BRI on a router from a PSTN line from remote site..!!

    Friends,
I have a 1812 at HO with WIC1 BS/T Card, connected it to an ISDN BRI line. One of my critical remote location uses Leased circuit to reach my HO Router. But in case if LL goes down, some of the important PC's at the remote site should be able to dial to HO Router BRI Number using PSTN line, get connected and continue, ip address assigned from HO Router and access the application... Is any way available...

    Hi Arnab.
You need to configure dial backup through AUX port. You need to connect a normal PSTN line to a modem which in turn is connected to your AUX port. You will have to configure a chat script which you can find in the attachmnet. The attachment is a working example in one of my routers.
You also have to create an ASYNC interface. Check that in the attached file also

  • Moved Time capsule from office to home - now cant connect

I set up my time capsule at work, but for security reasons was asked to turn off the wireless device and just connect with a cable - which i did, but after a few days of all the wires, I decided instead to bring it home and use it as a backup and wireless device for my house.
Unfortunately, it doesnt seem to like the move. I connected to my modem and tried to set it up wirelessly. The orange light flashes attempting to find the device, but it cant and the light completely shuts off after about 30 seconds... When i open airport utility Im not able to set it up manually. Even when I now try to connect to the time capsule with a cable, it wont recognize that its even there.
Im really at my wits end trying to figure out what to do. Any help is much appreciated

Hello NCGirl26. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Instead of trying to muck with the Time Capsule's (TC) current configuration that "worked" at the office, I strongly recommend that you just perform a "hard" reset on it to get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration, and then, set it up properly for your home network.
Also when changing a network configuration, like re-introducing the TC back into your home network, it is always a good idea to perform a complete power recycle of all of your network components.
Please try the following after performing the TC reset:
o Power-down the modem and computer(s); wait at least 10-15 minutes.
o While the devices are powered-down, connect the TC to the modem using an Ethernet cable between the modem's Ethernet port and the WAN (circle-of-dots) port on the TC.
o Power-on the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
o Plug-in the TC; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s)
You should now be in a position where you can access the Internet from your computer(s) that are connected either by wire or wirelessly to the TC. Since the TC is in its default state, I suggest using the AirPort Utility to reconfigure it as required for you network needs including enabling wireless encryption.

  • Having trouble connecting from office to home

So I downloaded ARD last night finally to address the daily questions from the kids and wife (how do I do this, Can you install this program, etc.) Played around with it a bit last night at the house (FIOS Router to Time Machine Bridge Mode) and locally it was working like a champ!
So excitied to get to work today and try things out and no go. IT say no outbound trafic is blocked and sent him the list of ports for ARD
I have the iMac's IP address and when I search by ip and try and log in it fails with the user name and password that worked locally last night.
    Any thoughts from the community.
    Thanks
    Robert

Here the skinny, or catch. Some times a internet connection, may block ARD. So even if you configure every thing right. It may still not work. And even if it dose, soon as you go to another ineternet connection, you may be find yourself blocked. Also FiOS may change your IP, this is a very common and frequent practis for many ISPs.
Have you considered using a program like logmein.com ? It's really easy to use, and it's desgined to do just what your trying to do.
If you want to troubleshoot ARD:
When you say you have the iMacs IP address, is that the IP address from, System Prefrences, Network, Active network connection? or is that the IP address you get when your on the iMac and you go to a website like whatismyipaddress.com?
On the computer your using at work, have you tried:
    1) opening Apple Remote Desktop
    2) click on "All Computers"
    3) Menu bar, File Menu, Add Computer by IP Address
    4) Put the IP Address you got from whatismyipaddress.com in the address field
    5) the login info you've been using at home.
    6) click the advanced arrow
    7) uncheck verify user namd and password
    8) uncheck apply defualt offline reporting policy
    9) click add
    10) select the added record
    12) click control, see what you get.
if your still not able to connect, you could try setting your iMac as the DMZ on your FIOS router. (to rule out your firewall)
Also the computer need to be on, and awake for you to be able to connect. So ether make sure the kids have it awake. OR configure your mac to stay awake.
if youw ant to configure your mac to stay wake:
Apple Menu, system prefrences, Enegery Saver, unlock, Slide computer sleep to "never".
You'll probable want screen slider set to sleep after some amount of time so the screen isn't always on.

  • OS re-Install needed from office to home use?

I currently have a imac in a corporate office. It was connected to its servers and its MS exchange. Now, the pc is at my house and the startup is extremely slow and sluggish.
I would like to either create a new user account, start fresh for home use or re-install the os. I dont want to lose the applications and have to re-install them.
What is the best way to clean out the "office" environment and get it faster for a home environment?
    Thanks
    jf

Okay you can do a couple of things:
    - Archive and Install a new OS. This will save everything you have in a folder and create a new system.
    - Backup everything to DVD, CD's, or an external drive and Erase and Install a new copy of your OS.

  • Connecting FAX to PSTN line using FXS and FXO ports

I have 2 cisco 1760 routers with FXS and FXO card installed in each. I have to transport 2 PSTN lines from Head Office to remote loaction using FXS and FXO cards and these lines will be used for  voice calls and FAX( one line each for FAX and voice). I have configured the router for voice lines and it is working fine. Now I am using the same config for running fax machine but it is not working. Can anyone help me out how to configure FAX in this scenario also if anyone can share any sample config. I am attaching my config for both routers. Right now both routers are connected with a cross-over cable for lab test but we will connect them later using satellite connection.

  • Spa3102 would not forward a voip call to pstn line

    Good morning.
I've done the implementation provided here http://community.linksys.com/t5/VoIP-Adapters/SPA-3102-and-softphone-to-
    make-calls-via-pstn-line/td-p/326390 .
It is a way to use for outgoing calls a given pstn line from anywhere I have internet (voip to pstn).
The spa3102 is connected to a router (with an active DHCP server and ip 192.168.1.1) from where it takes the internal
ip (192.168.1.3).On the same network is also a computer , connected to the router ( with ip 192.168.1.2). The spa3102
is set to bridge mode and thus inactivates the function of the router (on SPA3102), and it functions as a  simple
network device . I have  done port forwarding (from the router) to 192.168.1.3 (SPA3102) for the port 5061 (PSTN
LINE) ( but for 5060 for the LINE 1 also). I want to make calls from a voip softphone (x-lite 4) to the SPA 3102 and
this to forward the voip calls to PSTN line to which it is connected. In x-lite the SPA3102 is set as a proxy so that
i can type the phone number I want to call without being followed by the SPA3102's ip each time ( eg on  x-lite I
give call number 2101111111 instead of 2101111111 @ wanip: 5061 where wanip is the external ip of the router).
When x-lite is running on the computer that is on the same network with the SPA3102 everything works as expected. A
voip call is made from x-lite ( using as a proxy the wanip everytime, or even for test purposes the dyndns domain
that i set up for this reason), this call is passese PSTN line and the phone of the called party rings . At x-lite
    COMES indication "call established ".
The problem occurs when I do the same procedure from x-lite installed on a computer belonging to another network (
e.g. in another building with its own internet connection , own router, own computer , etc. ) . Always using the
wanip the x-lite makes the voip call to the SPA3102, writes "call established" ( meaning it connected to SPA3102) but
never routed the call to the called party ( the SPA3102 did not forward voip calls it receives to the PSTN line ) .
Trying to find what 's wrong I've tried to disable all firewalls (soft and hard from all involved machines ) . The
behavior is the same either the computer that makes the successful calls is connected to the network directly to the
router  or through the port "ethernet" on the SPA3102.
What is the difference in these two voip calls to the SPA3102 and the one  " triggers "  it to forward the call to
PSTN line and the other does not ?
Thanks now for any ideas you give .

The audio sound problem is more than likely also associated with the overall addressing problem initially encountered.  As you may know, using the sip protocol the sip signalling exchanges ip addresses to be used for both the sip signalling and the exchange of rtp sound packets.  In addition there is an exchange of port numbers to be used for the exchange of rtp sound packets.  The sound is exchanged by two separate streams of packets, one stream in each direction.  The result is an ip address and port number for the rtp packets flowing from the SPA3102 to the softphone and a different ip address and port number for the rtp packets flowing from the softphone to the SPA3102.
In your previous posting you mentioned that you "set the minimum  EXTernal rtp port at the sip tab".  Changing the "EXT RTP Port Min:" is an unusual change to make and in my opinion would only be made in special circumstances. Actually, I ran some tests and I'm not sure exactly what that setting does.  In my tests it didn't appear to affect the rtp port number used in a predictable manner.
The common changes to make for audio problems typically would be to setup a STUN server.  A STUN server is an external server that echos back to the initial sender the external ip address and port number that the STUN server received with the message received by the server.  This allows the sender (SPA3102 or softphone) to determine its external ip address and external port numbers for both the sip signalling and rtp packets.
A STUN server is commonly recommended to be setup with the following settings in the SPA3102:
    PSTN Line Tab:
    NAT Mapping Enable: Yes
    Sip Tab:
    Handle VIA received: yes
    Handle VIA rport: yes
    Insert VIA received: yes
    Insert VIA rport: yes
    Substitute VIA Addr: yes
Send Resp To Src Port: yes
    STUN Enable: yes
    STUN Server:
The following web page has a list of "Public STUN Servers"
    http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/STUN
You are using CounterPath's XLite softphone.  stun.counterpath.net  is a STUN server on the list.
I see XLite also has a setting to use a STUN server on the "Topology" tab.

  • PSTN lines to PBX via VoIP

Please be patience with me, I am relatively new in VoIP.
What I need is to replace an old RF telephone system by a VoIP technology using a wireless link.
There are 2 (two) PSTN lines that I think to connect to a 2 ports FXO Gateway.
This FXO GW will be connected to an Access Point 1 (AP-1).
The other Access Point named (AP-2) is 10 km from AP-1.
A FXS GW connected to AP-2 will be dialing or receiving dial to/from an analog PBX.
I really do not know the Linksys product to use.
I will appreciate so much your help to choice the correct solution.

The SPA3102's should work for you, but....
Before you get to far into this project you need to know what the latency will be across the wireless link. As latency increases the quality of the calls goes down. They will sound choppy, parts of words missing, etc... If the latency is to high you will experience dropped calls, or not able to connect.
Another item to check is if the AP's will do QOS. QOS is extremely critical for VoIP traffic.

  • Deleting lines from Sales order for which PO exists

    HI all,
We have a setup where MTO/PTO configurable sales order lines are created in SAP from a different application. In this scenario user did create a couple of PTO lines manually in SAP sales order which generated Purchase requisition and a purchase order was created. Since order entry has to be done from the front end application, the line number has been already consumed by the manually created line in SAP. So we need to somehow delete these two PTO lines from the sales order. We tried setting deletion flags to the purchase order lines but still not bale to delete the lines from the sales order.
Could some one come up with some idea?
    Thanks
    Gopi

    Gopi
I think you should work from SD Sales Order first. Did you try rejecting the sales order items without doing anything to the PO.
Also check what requirement routines you have in IMG T codes OVB5 (Maintain Requirements For Purchase And Assembly Orders) and OVB8  (Maintain Requirements For Transfer Of Requirements).
    Hope this helps.

  • I have two computers. One is a home office type and I take my lap top with me on the road with work. How do I copy my items from my I-pod to my laptop?

I have I-tunes downloaded on both computeonrs but only have my Information stored on my home computer as it is much faster to download information to when adding items to my I-pod.  I am not sharing this information with anybody but using it myself.

    Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers
Although it isn't possible to sync an Apple device with two different libraries it is possible to sync with the same logical library from multiple computers. Each library has an internal ID and when iTunes connects to your iPod/iPad/iPhone it compares the local ID with the one the device normally syncs with. If they are the same you can go ahead and sync...
I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans with iTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.
When working with an iPhone earlier builds of iTunes would remove any file not physically present in the local library, even if there was an entry for it, making manual management practically redundant on the iPhone. This behaviour has been changed but it will still only permit manual management with a library that has the correct internal ID. If you don't want to sync your library between machines on a regular basis just copy the iTunes Library.itl file from the current "home" machine to any other you want to use, then clean out the library entires and import the local content you have on that box.
On the offchance that you've split out the media folder from its normal location inside the iTunes folder see make a split library portable.

  • HT2905 When i use itunes to transfer photos from my pc to my iphone it transfers two duplicate folders onto the phone. One called photo library the other the name of the folder i transfered. I dont want the photos on my phone twice

Hi. I hope someone can help.
I have just downloaded itunes onto my pc.
Firstly when my iphone is plugged in and i open itunes it does not have a picture/photo folder under my phone listing.
Secondly when i go to photos from the top of screen and tick sync. It asks me to select the folder i want to sync with phone which i do. I then press apply and it transfers all the photos from that folder to my phone BUT it does it twice! I end up with two folders with the same photos. One named as per folder on pc and the other named photo library. I am not able to delete either of them. If i go back to itunes and unsync it deletes them both.
I have been trying for hours now.
If i just try to do it from my pc ie right click and send to iphone it wont do it just says phone not responding or disconnected
    Any ideas?

You do NOT have duplicates.  This is how Apple handles photos.
Just as a song is in your Itunes Library and that exact same song can be accessed from a playlist, all synced photos are in the Photo Library and those exact same photos can be accessed from the album.

    Hi Raghavendar,
Generally, when you install Lync 2013 in the computer with Office 2010, a Lync Meeting Add-in will be installed and enabled in Outlook 2010. Please follow these steps to check it:
    1. In Outlook, click the File tab, click Options, and then click
    Add-Ins.
    2. Please take one of the following actions:
If the add-in is in the Inactive Application Add-ins list, follow these steps:
    a. In the Manage drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog box, click
COM Add-ins, and then click Go.
