Unrealized Cost

Hi,
In the Inter Company transfer between two company codes if the material cost in first plant is 50 rs and the Inter company price is 70 rs,then the difference 20 rs should be shown in SAP system.Where we can see this unrealized cost.
What is the procedure to get it.
Please pass some hints
Regards
Kiran

Normally, receiving plant will always maintain the material with moving average price only.
So Once you do stock transfer, the receiving plant will do MB1B with movement type 351, and the financial impact is that issuing plant gets credited and receiving plant gets debited for the cost of the issuing plant.
Needless to mention, you can take FI experts opinion.
thanks

  • Cost Elements in OKG2 (Result Analysis Version)

    Dear All,
Can we maintain  a Single Cost Element or Can we maintain Different Cost Elements for the Different purpose.  What is the necessary we have to maintain the Cost Elements & At what level it picks cost.  Can any body share some inputs on ths.
    Regards

    Hi Raj,
If you check the settings for RA version 0 for CO area 0001 you will find that a single cost element is maintained.
Based on your requirement you may also define different cost elements for different reasons...
eg: You want to track Imminent Losses separately... then you can maintain a different cost element for calculating and posting imminent losses similarly you may want to capture Rev. in Excess of Billing in a separate cost element.
You can create separate cost elements for
Capitalized costs, Reserves for unrealized costs, Reserves for costs of complaints, Reserves for imminent loss, Work in process.
As such based on the requirement you may decide to have a same or different cost elements maintained in here.
When you execute RA (WIP calculation) system will calculate the values and will make a posting to the cost elements maintained in OKG2.
Also you need to maintain Line Id for the cost elements you have maintained here in OKG5.

  • Sales order based costing

    1) How to caluculate the cost based on the sales order.cost Estimate with quantity strcture is possible or not
PLEASE LET me know the status.
    with Regards
    Srinivas

    Hi,
In Product Cost by Sales Order, costs are normally collected on sales order items.
The quantity structure term is relevant to Production Orders which carries BOM and routing and your scenario is make-to-order.
For each sales order item, you can plan the cost of goods manufactured or the cost of goods sold. The costing results can be used as a basis for pricing in the SD component.
To be able to plan costs for sales orders, you must do the following:
Define a costing variant and a valuation variant.
Define a costing sheet for the calculation of overhead rates.
Make sure that the MRP group in the MRP 1 view of the material master record specifies a requirements class that has account assignment category "E" (make-to-order) and that allows costing.
In the requirements class, use the "Costing" indicator to specify that costing is allowed or updated and whether the planned costs are updated.
In the requirements class, you also specify whether your sales order stock should be valuated or nonvaluated with the "Valuation" indicator.
Results analysis at the end of the period is only required if you are using a nonvaluated sales order stock.
To carry out results analysis, you must do the following:
    Define a results analysis key
The results analysis key controls whether an object is selected for results analysis or WIP calculation. The results analysis key is defined as a separate default value for each requirements class.
    Define a results analysis version
The results analysis version determines which of the results analysis versions are relevant to settlement. This is particularly important in multiple valuation.
    Choose a valuation method
The valuation method controls which formula is used to calculate the results analysis data.
To be able to settle the results analysis data to Profitability Analysis, you must define a PA transfer structure that assigns the results analysis data to value fields.
To be able to settle the capitalized costs and the revenue in excess of billings and the reserves to Financial Accounting, you must:
Set the indicator "Financial Accounting" in the results analysis version
    Define posting rules
The posting rules assign the results analysis cost elements under which the results analysis data is updated on the order to G/L accounts (such as the finished products inventory or the reserves for unrealized costs (balance sheet) and the inventory change account or the expense account for reserves (P+L)).

  • Results Analysis on Sales Orders

    Hi Fellows,
When i am running the results analysis for Sales orders using KKAK transaction , I do not wish to see the WIP items with 0 Values. So i selected the option " Hide Orders with 0 values in Results List ".
However I am still getting the WIP items with 0 Value.
I saw the help for this and it says
" Note: In some cases individual objects may still appear in the list when both the column "Reserves for unrealized costs" (reserve for unrealized costs + reserve for complaints/commissions) and the column "Reserves for imminent loss" are a sum of multiple value fields and these value fields are checked individually for zero value ".
From the above, I came to the conclusion that the 0 value items may still come even if we check the box.
However from the above note, can anyone tell me where i can check the " Reserves for Unrealized Costs " and " Reserves for Imminent Loss " and also how can i know what are the value fields which are adding up to these columns.
Also it says the Value fields are individually checked for zero value.
Where can i see the Value fields associated with this Results Analysis and where can i see if the Value fields are assigned a value of zero.
Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this..
    Thanks in advance..

  • WBS ZPS.EXZZA210.1484 : WiP in Financial Accounting is still to be cleared/

    Hi guys
I cannot close the WBS element beacuse of this message WBS ZPS.EXZZA210.1484 : WiP in Financial Accounting is still to be cleared/settled. All the orders are closed and there are no commitments
. I also ran the RA as well.

The settlement was done in same period. In the RA i maintained manually because there were few cents outstanding. I am not sure if that might have caused the problem. Below is the screen shot of the manual adjustment i have done in RA.The  column with lots of zero's is the one i adjusted manually.

  • Quantity base POC method of result analysis

    hello all,
We are trying to create the result analysis key with quantity based POC method for Projects. we are choosing the Profit basis as E,K,M but we are getting the error ' Profit basis is only used for sales order.
Can anybody help resolving the issue?
    Regards,
    sudhir

    RamSiva,
I see that you've got the calculated COGS equal to the actual cost.  I would have thought that for quantity based POC the calculated cost should be equal to POC x C(p).  So if that's the case, I think the postings should be as follows:
    Debit Revenue for 36,000
Credit Reserve for Revenue surplus for 36,000
    Since I don't know what the planned cost were I don't know what the correct signs are for COGS adjustment;
    Debit / Credit (Expense)
Debit / Credit (Capitalized cost or reserve for unrealized cost, depending on the sign)
If R(a) less than R(c) then:
    Credit Revenue
Debit Revenue in excessive of billings
    thanks,

  • Concept of Reserve in WIP Config

    Hi there,
Pls can somebody expalin me the concept of reserves in WIP config? In t-code OKGA, we give one  cost element of nature 31 for WIP and one cost element for Reserve. I am unable to understand this reserve Cost element. Under what circumstances the WIP will get posted to reserver and not to WIP?
    Pls some bosy explain me..
    Thanks & Regards

You can maintain reserves for unrealized costs
for example You are producing a production order
You have inured costs for 25 units worth (Rawmaterial activity hours etc), but have an output of 30 quantity of finished product
so you have to maintain a reserve for unrealized costs ie  the costs that you would incur for the extra 5 quantity
For ex: 30 quantity costs should be 30000 $
But you have inured only 25 ie 25000$ only
So the unrealized costs of 5000 has to be maintained in reserve
    hoep i am clear.
    Revert back for further information
    Thanks

  • Results Analysis splitting POCS (Revenue Surplus)

I am not able to split POCS between two different GL Accounts.  I am able to do it with VLRV with two different Line ID's; but can't do it with POCS.
On OKG2 Revenue surplus (POCS) is defined with cost element 982133.
On OKG4 I split revenue by the following
COArea  Vsn RAKEY (RVD) (E)  982284    " Revenue Domestic
COArea  Vsn RAKEY (RVI) (E)  982285     " Revenue International
On OKG5 I define the split of revenue accounts to RVD & RVI.
    Account 311*** = RVD
    Account 315*** = RVI
On OKG8 I am able to split VLRV to different accounts using cost element 982284 & 982285.  I do not know how to define a split of POCS because it used the cost element 982133 from OKG2 and was not defined by my split in OKG4.
My KKAI / KO88 Settlement works to split VLRV, but POCS goes to the same account.
How can I split POCS value between two different accounts based on if the revenue was international or domestic (same as my split I used for VLRV)?

    Hi,
RA categories POCS (Revenue surplus) is updated with an RA technical cost element customized in OKG2, not that from OKG4. As a result, when you specify in OKG8 a cost element different from that in OKG2, nothing is selected from settlement.
If you need to distribute such RA categories as POCS between the RA lind IDs to post to different G/L accounts, you can use the solution of the Note 38070. Please, read this Note carefully.
POCI and POCS is undated on the database under the respective RA technical cost elements defined in the definition of the RA version (transaction OKG2). The matter is that POCI and POCS cannot be distributed to RA line IDs in standard and, therefore, the customizing in OKG4 is not relevant for these RA categories. You have, however, the following workarounds.
    1. Use the user exit 4 (see the note 67793). In this case you    can assign two different technical RA cost elements for two different   RA keys and, consequently, two different FI posting rules (OKG8) to   settle to different G/L accounts for projects and internal orders.
    2. Use of the user exit 1 with the coding from the attached note 38070.   With this workaround POCI is updated as WIP on RA line IDs W00,   W=1, ... and POCS is updated as the reserves for unrealized costs   (RUCR) on these RA line IDs under the respective RA cost elements   defined in OKG4 for line IDs W00. W01....

  • What is Importance of Financial Accounting in Result Analysis

    hi sap kings........
please give me details of result analysis in financial accounting.

    Hi,
Results analysis valuates the relationship between the costs and a measure of the order's progress towards completion, such as the revenue or the quantity produced.
    Eg:
If the measure of an order's progress is the actual revenue, the cost of sales approriate for that revenue is calculated. The revenue, cost of sales, and reserves for imminent loss (if calculated) represent the profit on the order for the period, and are settled to Profitability Analysis.
The calculated cost of sales is compared with the actual costs, and either work in process or reserves for unrealized costs are created for the difference. Postings are made for these values in <b>Financial Accounting.</b>

    Senthilkumar SD

  • Results Analysis 0 Values

    Hi Guys,
When we are using the results analysis using KKAK tcode, and  Although we tick the selection hide objects with 0 value we get zero value rows in the output. The files are becoming too large because of this.
Please let me know how to  hide the 0 value items.
    Thanks
    Srik.

Note: In some cases individual objects may still appear in the list when both the column "Reserves for unrealized costs" (reserve for unrealized costs + reserve for complaints/commissions) and the column "Reserves for imminent loss" are a sum of multiple value fields and these value fields are checked individually for zero value.
This is found on htting F1 when the check box for Hide Zero values is selected. Check if it makes sense.

  • Results Analysis Keyu2019

What is the significance of u2018Results Analysis Keyu2019 parameter in process order?

    Hi,
RA Key that defines the valuation of the order during period-end closing.
How the results analysis key is used depends on the nature of the order.
For orders with revenue ( internal orders, sales orders, and projects), the results analysis key determines how results analysis is carried out.
Results analysis is recommended in the following situations:
When you are using a nonvaluated sales order stock or nonvaluated project stock and you want to valuate the inventories at the end of the period
When you are using a valuated sales order stock or valuated project stock and want to valuate goods that have been delivered but not yet invoiced, or when you want to create reserves automatically
For orders without reference to a sales order item or WBS element, the results analysis key determines how the work in process is calculated.
The production type can be make-to-stock or mass production on the basis of sales orders. The work in process is calculated at the level of the production order, process order, or product cost collector.
For capital investment measures, the results analysis key determines how the system calculates the values to be capitalized.
    Examples
For orders with revenue, costs may be incurred before any revenue is received. If you are using a nonvaluated sales order stock, results analysis enables you to report the costs as work in process. After the first revenue has been posted, you can calculate the cost of sales. If the calculated cost of sales is greater than the actual costs incurred to date, the system creates reserves for unrealized costs in the amount of the difference.
No revenue is posted in CO for orders without reference to a sales order item. Each goods receipt for these orders is valuated. The work in process for these orders can be calculated with two different methods:
Work in process at actual costs
The actual costs for production orders and process orders for which no delivery has taken place are reported as work in process. After a partial delivery, the difference between the debit of the order with actual costs and the credit of the order from goods receipts is reported as work in process. When the order is complete, this work in process is canceled. The difference between the debit and credit of the order is then interpreted by the system as a variance.
In Product Cost by Order, the work in process is usually valuated at actual costs.
A requirement for the valuation of work in process at actual costs is that the default rule PP1 (full settlement) must be specified in the order.
Work in process at target costs
A confirmation is made for each operation or at certain reporting points. The system uses the confirmations to determine the quantity of work in process. This quantity is valuated using the strategy sequence specified in the valuation variant for work in process and scrap.
In Product Cost by Period, the work in process is always valuated at target costs.
A requirement for the valuation of work in process at target costs is that the default rule PP2 (periodic settlement) must be specified in the order.
    Hope it is clear.

  • Make to order WIP calculation with minus WIP

    Dear Grus!
I'm in the make to order senario ,and using actual cost in WIP calculation.
finished goods using standard cost valuation.
    Input 1000, output ( 100 USD *15EA), wip qty is 5EA.
now WIP become minus, so system generates error message.
How I should configure in a correct way?
    Thank you ~
    Lynn

    Thanks for your answers,
    The message number is
Plan cost <= actual cost. Cannot use method of apportionment (K,R)
    Message no. KJ228
Sum across all apportionment numbers = 0. Cannot use MOA (K,R)
    Message no. KJ233
MOA for reserves for unrealized costs in period 005 2009 was changed
    Message no. KJ221
Negative wip indicatest that 1) you are not finished with the order and 2) at the WIP point in time, more value has been credited to the order that was issued to the order.
This could be due to failed goods movements or incomplete confirmations, out of date cost estimates, etc.
and standard cost is a little bit high, so the WIP balance is minus.

  • Results Analysis Sales Order Issue

    Hi Fellows,
When i am running the results analysis for Sales orders using KKAK transaction , I do not wish to see the WIP items with 0 Values.
    Srik

Thx but We are not 11i but 11.0.3 -- older release....I am familiar with the API's and the 'Interface Trip Stop' concept in 11i...
