Upgrade Documentation 10.7SC - Rel 11

Can anyone tell me where I can find the documentation for upgrading Oracle Apps 10.7
to 11.03.
I have been unable to find any in the Oracle
Website. Are there any books out there for this topic?
Thanks.

If you go to the Solaris 11 site on the Oracle Technical Network, you will see in the documentation tab a link at the top called
"Transitioning From Oracle Solaris 10 to Oracle Solaris 11" :
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E23824_01/html/E24456/index.html
I'm not sure how you could have missed it.

  • 10.1.0.4 upgrade documentation question

    Hi:
In the accompanying documentation (section 5.1.7) it says, "If any database uses Java Virtual Machine or Oracle interMedia, then install the Oracle Database 10g Products installation type from the ... Companion CD before installing the 10.1.0.4 patch".
What does that mean? What is the "installation type"? I assume since I already have the interMedia stuff running on a 10.x.x. database I have already loaded whatever I need from the companion CD. Is this saying to do any upgrades from the 10.1.0.4 companion CD section before applying the database patches or what?
    Thanks.
    MJG

Here's what I did. (Windows XP server)
    * Installed Oracle 10.1.0.2
    * Installed 10.1.0.2. Companion CD
    * Installed "10g Products" from the 10.1.0.2 companion CD
    * Installed 10.1.0.4 DB patch
    * Installed 10.1.0.4 Companion CD patch.
Now I am in the "post processing" phase, trying to do a
    STARTUP UPGRADE
but I get an error "SP2-0714: invalid combination of STARTUP options"
Does anyone know what's behind this? Did I need to run the catpatch.sql before installing the companion CD parts of the 10.1.0.4 patch?

  • Health Report for existing role in support and upgrade documentation

    Hi Experts,
I am looking for create a report or using existing report/FM (if any) which will show new objects been thrown for a role with there SAP suggested values when we use PFCG expert mode merge option. I think this will be very helpful for support person to health check for roles and during upgrade in step 2C documentation people can save a hell lot of time. I do not have ABAP knowledge. Can anyone help me on this?
    Regards,
    Arpan Paik

    Hi Julius,
I have been to that wiki before and one by you as well (regarding upgrade steps). For current upgrade I have also noticed that SU25 step2B is not only left with customer related changes only. Where USOBT_C/USOBX_C has same values as of USOBT/USOBX there update to customer table automatically happened in step2A. So 2B left with very less changes where customer prefer the standard way!!!
What I am looking for is actual authorization change delta. Step2C gives us only list of roles get affected. I am lookimg for what change actually can happen to a single piece of role due to upgrade.
    I have followed below method.
    1. Join table USOBT_CD and USOBT_C to see actual proposal for changed transaction and corresponding auth object. Here I had to perform few excel work to remove data repetation
    2. Then take old data for roles from AGR_1251
    3. Put together above 2 data and after proper sorting by object manually remove the data which SAP does by expert mode merge function.
Can this step be automated by some ABAP code? or function module?

  • Upgrade documentation

Can you tell us how we can upgrade to Muse CC today? It was announced during last week's Muse Jam that upgrading would be available June 17 at midnight EST. I went to my Adobe Application Manager to see if I could update from there, lauched Muse to see if would prompt me to update and even initiated a chat with a support rep, who wasn't helpful.
I'm a bit frustrated at the lack of documentation behind this. We were told a month ago it today would be the day and were shown videos of the new functionality. But HOW to upgrade is very unclear.
Any insight from Adobe would be appreciated.

The CC launch will be happening this evening at 8pm PDT
    Cheers,

  • Upgrading from 10.7SC to 11i

Has anyone considered upgrading on a plant-by-plant basis or a module-by-module basis? We have 15+ plants implemented on the same instances. Our senior executives are looking for ways to mitigate the risks of upgrading in a "big bang" appraoch.

I do not have an answer for you, but wanted to let you know we are in a similar situation. We are looking at consolidating our database instances (domestic and international) and would like to minimize our risk on the 11i deployment. Feel free to contact me and we could compare projects.

    Hi Emyrsonn,
I hope this ONS 15454 upgrade tool can help you answering all your questions

It seems like you should be able to directly upgrade from 9.1.x to 9.2.2.
Please let me know if you have any comments on that.
    Hope it helps!

  • Database Upgrade documentation

Pl see the feedback regarding database upgrade doc in this thread - Opatch shows incorrect version after applying 11.2.0.4 upgrade
The request is to enhance the doc to add specific steps for Windows, which seem to be missing.

I added a topic to chapter 4 of the Database Upgrade Guide: About OPatch Commands After Upgrading Oracle Database, I added a link to Oracle OPatch User's Guide for Windows and UNIX. The OPatch User's Guide contains an appendix with the commands and syntax for OPatch. You must run OPatch from the new Oracle home after you upgrade.

  • Upgradation of 11.0.3 (vis) to 11i any documentation

    Dear Friends,
I want to upgrade vis 11.0.3 to 11i can you please let me know from where to start.

Start at Upgrade Documentation. One way to try - (High Level)
    1. Install RapidInstall 11.5.3 release of Oracle Apps without database
    2. Take the database copy and create database
    3. Apply Platform specific Megapatch 11.5.3 against it.
[This is solution is my personal solution and is not recommended in any book. Do not quote me on that strategy.]

  • Upgrade to Oracle8i Rel. 8.1.7

    I'm planning to upgrade our Oracle8i 8.1.6 to 8.1.7
production database server. But, I have a Standby
Database server configured which is being updated
using the archived redo logs updates on a regular
    basis to a remote area.
Will the standby database server continue function
(accept archived redo logs) after upgrading both
servers? It would entail an lot of work to reacreate
    the standby DB.
Anybody has similar setup or experieince?
    Francis

Which upgrade documentation are You following?
If You have metalink access, then read note 316889.1 - it has step by step instruction how to upgrade from 8.1.7.4 to 10.2.0.1 (and I would suggest to upgrade to 10.2.0.4).

  • 10.7SC to 11i

Can anyone advise as to APPROXIMATELY how long it should take to move from 10.7 SC (16.1) to Release 11i?

Is there a documentation/manual available for upgrading from 10.7SC to Release 11?
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Mark Smith ([email protected]):
When you upgrade, the things that take the real time are the other things around the Apps. For instance, R11/11i means that you need to use either Internet Explorer 4/5 or Netscape Navigator, or use the Applet Viewer that comes with R11. This means that your users need to be on Windows 95/98/2000/NT, and not on 3.11. Hence, you will need to upgrade your desktops and then check that the other applications that you use are all upgraded to 32 bit. When you have done this, look at the server sizing and processing power to check that it can handle R11. You will no doubt be aware that most of the processing is now moved on to the concurrent server and database server and away from the desktop. This may mean that you need extra processing power. You may want to add disk too whilst doing the server upgrade. Next, check the operating system for the server - it may need to be upgraded. Finally, look at upgrading the Apps ! This is really not that complicated. You can complete the upgrade of the system in as little as 2 days, depending on what you are running, although you will obviously need to upgrade your test environment first and then go through User Acceptance Testing to check that all features are still working. With your modules, you should get users to write a Test Plan and Test Script for each module and to then action this plan against the various functionality, recording results as they go. If you want to consider a rough ballpark figure for the whole thing, you should look towards a 2 month duration. Hope this helps !<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

  • 8.0 to 8.2 upgrade: ¿would it affect configuration and/or licensing?

    Hello team:
I am planning the upgrade of an ASA 5550 Active/Passive cluster from 8.0 to 8.2 according to the "zero downtime upgrade" documentation available in the web.
I do not have another cluster for comprehensive testing, but I executed a simple migration procedure on a tiny 5505 and neither licensing features nor the configuration (the command sintax) were affected by this process. I know this is something to care about if you go to 8.3, but this is not my case.
I browsed the release notes of 8.2(5) and no special disclaimer was found by me with respect to this release. So everything should work just fine, but I would like to double check for input with respect to these two subjects:
    1.  ¿Will the licensed features (vpn, concurrent connections, etc) be preserved?
    2. ¿ Will the configuration be preserved ?
Your recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Rogelio Alvez
    Argentina

An ASA 8.0 to 8.2 upgrade should not affect configuration or licensing. I have done it many times without any problem. Just follow the published procedure carefully and you will be fine.
While you are working on the boxes, I recommend putting ASDM 6.4(7) on them (if it is not already in use) as it is the recommended version for all 8.x releases.

  • Upgrade iMac late 2006

As requested.   Will repeat description of my problem and add one other annoying intrusion.  The Whirling Ball has started to appear (have been working on a newsletter in Pages)  Solution so far is to quit Pages and reopen, not very elegant.
My Mac is 20 inch "late 2006" running 10.7.5 which is apparently it's maximum.  Processor is 2.33 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and Memory is 3 GB 667  Mhz DDR2 SDRAM.   (was originally 2 GB, but local Apple shop added 1more last year)
Recently I have had slightly weird problems.. e.g. on start-up it opens with Mac Word, or Excel, neither of which are Log-In items, which are restricted to Mail and Safari.  Other unusual "happenings" are Screen Freezes, (resolved by clicking here and there)  Something called "iWeb" has appeared along the row at the bottom of the screen, and I get asked for my Confidential Information on "Mobile Me" (which I have refused)
another "aid" attached to each item in the row at the bottom of the screen, is the list of "options"    Was this an upgrade of 10.7.5 somewhere in the last 6 months  ?
I have been told I can reload System 10.7.5, and I have thought about (worst scenario ?) buying a new 21" iMac with latest bells and whistles, but I suspect that somehow, Cloud has wormed it's way, uninvited, into the system.
Is my problem unique ?   If not, do you have a suggestion for a clean-up.
My Disc Utility says Mac HD 250 GB    Used 166 GB   No. of files  !   645,500  !!      Have two external HD  a. Time Machine   b. Photos, Music, other old stuff.
               Will appreciate suggestions             Eric

Omni Disk Sweeper is a good program/application.
You want to keep that app as it is useful for finding all types of files you may want to keep or delete.
Here are some general tips to keep your Mac's hard drive trim and slim as possible
You should never, EVER let a computer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your Mac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto or Aperture, both have its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you are an iMovie/ Final Cut user, both apps have their own individual Trash location that needs to be emptied, too!
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your other Mailboxes and other Mail categories to see If there is other mail you can archive and/or delete.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
To find other large files, download an app called Omni Disk Sweeper.
    http://www.omnigroup.com/more
    Also, Find Any File
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Moving iTunes library
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1449
    Moving iPhoto library
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2506
    Moving iMovie projects folder
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2289
Things to consider before moving your iPhoto Library Folder to a new or external location like an external hard drive.
If you make movies on any iDevices using iMovie for iOS,, then transfer the video footage, the IOS version of iMovie saves the footage as a movie file in IPhoto for IOS and will automatically get transferred to iPhoto for the Mac when you upload the video from your iDevice.
Newer versions of iMovie will work and link those video files found in your iPhoto Library on your Mac, but those links can be lost if you move your iPhoto library and you will not be able to relink that video afterwards as the current versions of iMovie seem to not have a relink option for the video portion of the files (ironically, current versions of iMovie HAVE the ability to re-link the audio files from the video footage, though  (The inability to re-link the video files could be a possible bug or oversight in current versions iMovie).
The lost video links show up as "blacked-out" video blocks with no content.
    Before moving the iPhoto Library
If you make movies with iMovie using iPad or iPhone video then 'Consolidate' the files before you finish. This will gather (albeit by duplicating) all the relevant files in the project in one place. After consolidating/duplicating all of the audio and video footage to a seperate, independent location,it should be safe to move your iPhoto library.
The potential way to circumvent this issues maybe to try and import  iPad and iPhoto video directly into iMovie which would be another solution.
    FYI,
WHile the max. RAM of your year and model iMac is 3 GBs, Macs typically work better with pairs of matched RAM modules.
If you so choosr, you could replace that 1GB RAM module with another 2 GB RAM module. Your Mac will NOT recognize the complete 4 GBs of total RAM installed, but it will recognize between 3.2 to 3.4 GBs of the total 4 GBs and more important will respond slightly better with matched pairs of RAM.
The difference won't be too dramatic. So, it is up to you if you want to spend the extra money to purchase and install that 2GB RAM module.
Correct, compatible and reliable Mac RAM can ONLY be purchased from online RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (http://www.macsales.com).
RAM is user installable/upgrade able and is, relatively, easy for newbie or novice Mac users to install.

    Good Luck!

  • "Product is not installed" message when running weblogic upgrade installer

    Hi,
I have successfully installed WLS 10.3.5 and JDeveloper Studio using jdevstudio11116install.jar installer on my local machine running Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise Edition . Now when I try upgrading WLS to version *10.3.6*, using wls1036_upgrade_generic.jar, I run into "*Product is not installed*" message. I tried even running wls1036_upgrade_win32.exe and the results are the same.
Appreciate if someone could tell me what I am doing wrong. I only followed the WLS install/upgrade documentation but looks like something is amiss.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Appreciate if anybody out there can help me with the problem. I am wondering if the message cropped up due to the fact that I am trying to run a product upgrade specifically targeted at WebLogic Server instead of running a upgrade installer for jdeveloper since WLS 10.3.5 came with JDev installer in the first place. I am not aware if upgrade installlers are available for jdevstudio. Another way to put this is, I should have run WLS 10.3.5 installer first(instead of jdev) and the 10.3.6 upgrade installer next. That probably might have worked. Then again I am not sure this is correct.
    Appreciate any help on this.
    Thanks
