Windows 7 client will not connect to hp 5550 printer with windows xp host

I am trying to get a Windows 7 PC to share a printer connected to a Windows XP computer. I see the shared printer from the W7 computer. But, it keeps aking me for a driver. I cannot seem to find a driver for w7 that I can manually load into w7. Anybody help?

Searching the web the drivers are found on the HP web site here.

  • Lync 2013 MX (on windows rt) will not connect to Lync 2010 enterprise server

Both internal and external (through edge) will not connect. I will put in the SIP address, try to connect and it will ask for the logon credentials (domain is different from SIP domain) A minute later it will state that it was unable to sign on. When I enable
logs I get a massive log file (~etl.bak) that is garbled and snooper will not read.
I have had no problem signing in users with Lync for the ipad, windows phone, or android devices. Does anyone know a way to troubleshoot this further?

Make sure you use the following to log on
    SIP Address : [email protected]
    Account : Domain\user
    - Belgian Unified Communications Community : http://www.pro-lync.be - MCM/MVP/MCT
Tried all the combinations, but I heard a rumor that the company has messed-up or incomplete DNS entries and won't fix it. On the Lync desktop versions I can work around this by using advanced connection settings (which don't exist on the WinRT/Store
app) to specify manual internal and external names.
Also tried entering sip.company.com and sipexternal.company.com in hosts file but that doesn't work either. that was suggested elsewhere as a fallback mechanism, but it doesn't seem to work when potentially invalid SRV entries already exist.
What I really need is for Microsoft to support the advanced connection settings, there's no other way around that.
    Two questions:
    1) Anyone know how to get access to the logging information which is enabled in the options of the Windows Store app? It's a long shot but maybe I can find somebody in this big company who will want to correct it.
    2) Do we use the usual MS Connect to make bug/feature requests for the store apps too? For many years now a lot of products have been missing from there in favor of other feedback systems like User Voice (e.g. Windows Phone and Visual Studio). So you never
know exactly which is the right place to report such stuff nowadays (shame because Connect seemed like a universal solution at the start).

  • Windows 8 can not connect RemoteApp on W2K12 RDS, but Windows 7 can connect. Why?

    Hi!
Windows 8 can not connect RemoteApp (W2K12 RDS), but Windows 7 can connect. Why?
External and internal DNS name is different, the public Cert is mapped to RD Web Access and a RD GateWay Role.
The internal cert (issued by enterprise ca) is mapped to RD Connection Broker roles (SSO and Publishing).
These certifications also be installed on client computers (Personal and Trusted Root Certification Authorities).
The internal CA revocation list is publicated to a website and this web site is accessible from internet. Ports (3389,3391,443) forwarded to RDS server.
On windows 7 everything works fine, but Windows 8 can not connect to Remote Apps. Windows 8 can connect to RDS server via Remote Desktop Connection.

  • Windows 8 will not connect to jetpack

Our new windows 8 computer will connect just fine to public wifi, like Starbucks, Zaxbys, etc but will not with my jetpack 890L. I had it set to WPA2-PSK, it would not even hook to it, then I changed it to no security and it would hook up but limited and not go to any webpages. Everything else in the house has no problem with either setting. Also the software on the Jetpack is up to date.

        Hi TorreyS,
This a very unique issue. If everything else connects properly to your Jetpack, it must be some compatibility issue with your Windows 8 computer. Can you run your computer in previous Windows version compatibility mode? Check with your computer manufacturer for instructions on this. This can also be an authentication issue. Try authenticating your devices via Mac filtering. See link below for instructions. Keep us posted.

  • After installing windows 7, will not connect to my router

I installed windows 7, 64-bit on my macbook late 2009 model. After installing, it would not connect to my router. However, it did connect under Mac OS X and it also worked with my roommates laptops, but not my macbook running windows 7. I searched everywhere and could not find a solution. Tried updating drivers (updated to bootcamp for windows 64 bit, 3.1 and then 3.2). Tried setting it up manually. Also, did not work. Does anyone have any solutions for this? It seems a lot of people are also having this issue.

For wired or wireless if you have not already done it,
    1) Remove router cable from Modem,
    2) Unplug Router power,
    3) Unplug Modem power,
    4) Wait a few minutes
    5) Replug Router power,
    6) Replug router cable to Modem
    7) Replug Modem power
Also router may in combo with more modern (if wireless?) PC have security (password setup) requirement.

  • Windows xp will not connect to airport extreme

I can connect if I make the network unsecure but when i make it secure my computer with a windows xp operating system can not connect. My ibook connects fine either way. It does show the network in range but when i try to connect and enter the password in the network key the computer says waiting for the network and then after3-4 minutes does not connect. Any help please?

I am having the same problem. Apple Support took me through a bunch of steps over an hour and then sort of gave up and said this is a Microsoft problem. Great help! I may end up returning the AEBS, because this is just WAY too much work.
When I set the AEBS (using MacBook Pro) at WEP level of security, by the way, the Network Connections available box on the XP Notebook still labels the network as a WPA/WPA2 network. The WEP option does not appear.

  • Ipod will not be recognized and is screwing with window xp

One day my iPod reseted itself when my computer crashed, and when the ipod turned back on it deleted everything on it and went to "chose language".
Windows will not recognize ipod most of the time (sometimes randomly sees it in explorer, but I can't do anything with it)
Ipod interferes with my windows start up and shut down (comp will not fully startup or shut down unless ipod is disconnected)
    Here is what I tryed:
Restarting iPod - just resets back to "choose language"
Restore/update software - crashes when I reset the ipod when connected, other then that it just asks for an ipod to plug in even when my pod is pluged in
Disk mode - does not seem to matter when connected to computer
diagnostic mode - tests seem to show everything is fine
Diffrent computer that my iPod was already registered on and worked fine with before - no cigar
Uninstalling and then reinstalling all ipod stuff - yeah... not working
Now in the process of writing this my iPod seems to be getting recognized. iTunes just launched, autoplay started up, and xp explorer sees it, but explorer freezes when i try to do anything.

  • Just received by I Pad and it will not connect to ITunes or sync with my computer and it wasn't recognized by my MAc.

I just received my IPad and it will not sync with ITunes and my Mac doesn't recognize it any form.  The screen is black with the exception of the annoying ITunes/USB cable graphic on the screen which appears momentarily and then disappears.  Any ideas?

Things you can try first off,
is make sure you plug in your USB at the back of the mac, rather than for example keyboard.
    Check out another usb cable.
Hold down sleep/wake and home button at the same time to reset iPad.
Make sure you have the latest iTunes installed or you may have to reinstall iTunes.
None of these work then I suggest you to take it to an Apple retail store for the genius guy to check it out.

  • Windows Mail will not connect with Comcast server

I've been getting the following error message all day today when trying to send/receive email via Windows Mail: Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F I've verified that all email account settings are correct using Comcast George's post, and with two Comcast phone reps.  I've disabled email scanning on my Norton 360. Nothing about my setup was changed recently.  I have successfully received emails on this computer/Windows Vista/Windows Mail for years with no problem. First Comcast rep basically said "Tough, b***h" since I am able to access my email via Comcast's web site.  She viewed the issue as strictly a Windows Mail problem. Second Comcast rep had me change all settings on my account, with no solution.  Then said she would escalate the problem on up the line. Does anybody have any ideas on how to make this work once again?

AV programs don't like being told what to do. ;-) AV programs are pegged as the most likely culprit when Googling on 0x800CCC0F. Upgrading to Windows Live Mail is often recommended, and I recommend trying a different email client as well, but my recommendation would be Thunderbird. MS email clients are famous for quirky problems. On the other hand, someone with a similar problem (on a Mac, so different error message) changed his password and things started working again. I'm a little skeptical about that, thinking that it might have just been coincidence, but it could be worth a try. To see if you're having the same problem, you could turn on logging in Windows Mail and post the log here. Tools|Options|Advanced|Maintenance|Troubleshooting. Click on the Store Folder button above the Troubleshooting section to see where the log file will get saved. Remember to turn off logging when you're done troubleshooting.

  • I have installed a Apple Time Machine now my Windows laptop will not connect to the internet

I recently installed an Airport Time Capsule without any problems and my iphone, ipad and Macbook Air can all connect to the internet without issues, but my son's Windows desktop suddenly won't connect to the internet.
It basically joins the network and shows that it has internet access but when you go to any webpage it says, "unable to connect to the internet"
I rang the BT helpline as i have installed the Mcafee anti-virus, which was free, thinking that there might be a confliction? After a few checks i was asked to disconnect the Time Capsule and re-connect the BT router. As soon as i did that i got internet access on my sons machine.
BT suggested i speak to Apple as there is obviously something i need to do to the desktop to enable it to work with the Time Capsule, and it is beyond their capability.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance, Pete

Yes I don't see problems there.
I presume the 10.0.2.29 on the Mac is just a typo.
There is a good chance windows is just being stupid, which is not surprising.
    Reboot the whole system.
Restart in correct order.. modem.. TC.. 2min gap between them, and then PC.
Test with just the PC running.
See if you can open a web page.. no luck
In the command window again, ping the various IP addresses.
    So ping 10.0.1.1 first.
    Then ping 8.8.8.8
If those pings work, then try and ping a website. eg www.google.com
    Does that work or not?
If ping works and the web pages won't open that is one of those hard ones.
Make sure under network in the PC it is located at home.. not work or public. Windows has this nasty habit of flipping itself autonomously between these settings.. take off the firewall if it is still a problem.
And finally go into the TCP/IP settings and change the DNS to 8.8.8.8
