WIP order Settlement

Dear All,
I have created a process order and the status of the order is REL. When i run the WIP KKAX, the value of WIP is calculated. While doing the settlement of the process order, the system responded that there is no accured amount, settlement is not possible. Kindly advice to go forward.
Regards
Vasantha

Hi,
It does not mean that an REL order has to post WIP during settlement. in CO03 screen, Goto - Order - Balance. In your case, the balance is zero. That is the reason why the system gave you a message "no accrued amount". Hope this helps. try to post some costs to the order and then perform WIP and settlement.
Thanks,
Moorthy

  • Production order settlement to post wip

    Hi,
My understanding on production order settlement is to carry out 2 task :
variance posting in the case the operation is complete
    cr p&l change in stock
    dr p&l price difference
    and also
WIP posting in the case the operation is not complete yet.
    cr p&l change in stock
    dr balance sheet wip
WIP calculation is done in KKAX / KKAO and posting is done in KO88.
Now my question is, in KO88 setting I do not see any setting to tell the system to do the WIP posting. I only can see the setting to post to variance only.
and OKG8 is to set which account to post to.
So how KO88 know to post WIP?
    Thanks

    Hi,
KO88 transaction code is used for both WIP and Variance settlement.
It is the Order status which decides whether KO88 settles variances or WIP.
When the Order status is Released, Partially delivered, Partially released, KO88 gives you WIP
When the status is Delivered or TECO it gives Variances.  Hence this is the link which we establish in the WIP configuration OKGC and in OKG8 we link the GL accounts for WIP.
For variance we assign in OBYC, PRD transaction

  • KO8G open work order settlement

    Hi,
I am facing an issue with open work order settlement using KO8G or KO88.
We are on 6.0 and PSM turned and New GL activated with a document splitting on fund mandatory flag turned on.
When open work orders undergo WIP calculation through KKAI, it shows the the calculated amount in the GL account but when we execute KO88 or KO8G to settle this open work order amount to the GL, it gives me the below error
GLT2201 "Balancing field "Fund" in line item 001 not filled"
On debugging the KO88, its seen that the field fund does not flow in from the work order.
This means that both my P&L accounts and my balance sheet accounts that offset the WIP posting does not have the fund field (which is a mandatory field for posting any document in the system).
Has anyone come across such a situation?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hey Vanessa,
Sorry i have been really busy with work off late. I just got a moment and wanted to thank you for the help.
I found a solution for it, we had FMDERIVE default the fund on the accounts used in WIP settlement as they are dedicated for those process.
The cost is picked from the order and deposited on the P&L account which is now attached to the fund and this is further transferred to the balance sheet account with the fund information.
    Problem solved.
Do you see any other implications on this?
    Thanks again.

    Ashok,
    Thanks for the reply.
We have a user exit to populate the order during its creation. this means the fund field is already residing on the order. so during settlement process, closed orders dont have a problem but when open orders are subject to settlement i.e WIP settlement, the cost on the order is not transferred to the GL account because of the fund missing as our financial statements should be balances by fund.
Do you think an user exit can suffice this ? have you ever tried or come across such a scenario.
    Thanks

  • Re: Issue while doing Order Settlement

    Hi Experts,
I have completed the goods reciept step for a process order.
Now I am trying to do the following steps for the order settlement.
    1.Calculate Overheads using Tcode : KGI2 - Individual Processing
    CO43 - Collective Processing
2.Calculate WIP using Tcode : KKAX - Individual Processing
    KKAO - Collective Processing
3.Calculate Variance by using Tcode : KKS2 - Individual Processing
    KKS1 - Collective Processing
4.Finally do the settlement of Order in Tcode : KO88 - Individual Processing
    CO88 - Collective Processing
I am not able to do these steps.
KGI2: the screen is appearing  without any details, but there is no error message.
KKS2: Here all the cost are coming zero.
KO88: I am getting this message: There are no accrued amounts; settlement is not possible.
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Vivek

    Dear,
    Message no KD256??
You will just check for customization settings for accrual calculation ie cheak for settelement to fiin the result analysis version and check posting rules
Maintain the config in OKG8 for RA category "RUCR".
    Check this OSS note 179533
    Also check order previously settled?

  • CCS Details are not getting updated to COPA in Sales Order Settlement(VA88)

    Dear Experts,
Our scenario is MTO with valuated material.
    1. Production order is tagged to Sales Order.
    2. Production order is settled to Material and variance is getting posted to COPA.
    3. At the time of Delivery, COGS Debit (Cost Object- Sales Order), Credit - Inventory.
    4. At the time of Billing, Accounting Document is getting generated, COPA document is not getting generated.
    5. We  are not executing WIP. (as per Business process)
    6. Settlement is done thru transaction code VA88. COPA Document is getting generated.
I am facing the following issues in the above MTO process.
    1. At time of sales order settlement thru VA88, In COPA, only COGS is getting as updated with one value field i.e. Material Cost.  Cost Component data (Material Depreciation, Labor etc..) is not getting updated to COPA.
    2. When I settle the Sales Order thru VA88, Billing Quantity is not getting updated to COPA though Quantity field mapping is done properly.
Please help me how to resolve the above issues.
Note: Same Cost Component Structure, we are using for Make to Stock scenario. Cost Component Data is getting updated Properly to COPA  (at the time of Billing)

    Hi
    1. CCS (Cost Comp Split) wont be updated to COPA if you settle via sale order.. In sale order, COGS cost element is posted.. the same will get settled to COPA as one single value...
In MTS, the CCS gets updated to COPA upon billing because of the "valuation" strategy customization... Billing posts to COPA in that case, COPA gets Sales Qty and it is valuated with CCS to give you the break up.. But, in your case, Billing is not posting to COPA, but to sales order.. hence, there is no qty flow into COPA upon billing.. thats why you dont get CCS for MTO
    2. The sales qty should be updated to COPA upon VA88.. For this, make the following settings in your PA transfer structure which is used during VA88
    1. Go to KEI1, Select your PA transfer structure...
    2. Add an assignment line in it... Check on "Qty Billed/Delivered" in the assignment line
    3. In the Tab "Value Field" below "source", assign Qty Field
Now when you settle, it should update qty as well

  • Incomplete Process order settlement at Month end.

We have issue with order settlement during the month end. We have process orders that run over the week (thus will run over the month-end), with REL, PCNF, and PDLV status at the month end. Production does not want to close/ TECO those orders, as we are not yet done. But FI wants to settle them for the month end.
    1) Can FI settle those REL work orders, as mentioned before?
    This is what I found:
    2) The standard practice is TECO, is to set before closing the order.
    3) You can only perform (business) closing for a process order if (CLSD):
The order has status Released (REL), Control recipe created (CRCR) or Control recipe discarded (CRAB), or Technically completed (TECO). To have status Technically completed, the order must have already reached status Released.
    The order balance is 0.
There are no more open purchase requisitions, orders, or commitments for it.
All data related to the process order is available and correct (For example, the inspection lots for the order must be completed).
There are no future change records from the confirmation processes
    2) So, if statement 1) is correct, is this correct lifeycle:
    A.     Settlement at month end for all orders with REL status.
    B.      TECO after settlement, and also after DLV and CNF status.
    C.      Close after TECO.
Upload in your comments, if there is any link.
    Thanks, points will be rewarded.

    Hi Abi,
Since the Process order is in uncompleted stage and partially delivered to stock, still it has WIP to be delivered to stock.
Calculate the WIP value & settle the order in Month end.
Prerequisite for WIP calculation is order should has REL status.
In month end for Uncompleted order , calculate WIP value & settle the Order.
General steps for month end practice:
    Over head calculation
    WIP calculation
Variance calculation -  Once the Order receives  -  DLV /TECO  status.
    Order settlement.
    Order closing

  • Process Order Settlement without GR or GI

    Hello,
I have a quick question that I need help with please. A process order has no Goods Receipt yet (only consumption) as of month-end when we settle all orders. Will such an order settle and post an entry to GL even though it is not completed yet?
Also, if an order has Goods Receipt but no consumption (I know it doesnt make sense, but it is an error order), will it still settle?
    Thanks,
    Gligor.

    Hi,
If I understood correctly, you have consumptions of RM from your inventory but you dont have production GR.  You wanted to do the order settlement.
    - Why do you want to settle order that is not completed in production?  If there are any expenses on the order during the month, shouldn't these expenses be tracked as WIP?
    - Also, for the case where there are GR without GI, are there any activity consumptions on the process order?
    Thanks,
    Ram

  • PROCESS ORDER SETTLEMENT - KO88

    Hi!
As per my knowledge KO88 will be done for OHDS and for Material.  OHDS settlement will be done in month ending which results the difference between KSII and KP26.
Can anybody explain how the accounting entry will be generated at the time of Process order settlement of material i.e. KO88.
    Sreenivas

    Hi
Settlement entries are same as in production order.  No diff
However, u must be aware settlement entries are dependent on status of process order.  If status is DLV or TECO wip is calcelled and variances are calculated.  If status if PREL or REL or PDLV wip entries are posted.
Hope you have made settings in WIP for offsetting entries
Pls assign points if this clarifies else send query with more explanation

  • PM order settlement steps

    Hi,
I have a basic question regarding PM order settlement. I know that for PP orders, following are the settlement steps for individual processing.
    1) After final confirmation of the order (status CNF) using IW41, do GR (IW8W for refurbishment order, etc). Status will now be DLV.
    2) Technically complete the order (IW32-Order-Functions-Complete-Complete (technically). Order status is now TECO.
    3) Actual overhead calculation - tran KGI2
    4) WIP calculation - tran KKAX
    5) Variance calculation - tran KKS2
    6) Actual settlement - tran KO88.
Now for PM order, please tell whether steps 4 and 5 are relevant. Do we need to calculate WIP and variance for PM order? What are the exact steps to settle a PM order?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi,
Production order settlement is done to capture the variance and the WIP to the header material of production order. On execution of the settlement the entries for FI will be posted with respect to variance and WIP

  • Product Costs by Sales Order - Settlement Options?

    Hello All -
I am trying to understand if I need to settle to a sales order (SDI) or directly to material (MAT) or to COPA (PSG).
If i look at my sales order, it has item category ZPSF, which product costs by sales order configuration shows a requirement class ZKE.  ZkE has a valuation of M, which means separate valuation of reference to sales document/project.
Does this mean I need to settle to sales order first?
Then i run vA88 to settle sales order to copa?
if ZKE valuation is blank, does that mean its not valuated?  I have read on other sap help pages that means it is valuated.  Please clarify.
also, when does one directly settle to MAT? what scenarios?  this confuses me.
    Thanks!
    Emmas

I'll give this a try. When working in a make-to-order environment there are 2 settings in the requirments class that you must consider in determining how to settle the costs (and maybe the revenue as well).  The first setting is the account assignment category.  In the standard system "E" is used to designate the sales order as a cost collector.  "M" is used to if you don't want the sales order to be a cost collector.  Whether the sales order is a cost collector or not will determine your settlement options.
The second critical field is the valuation setting.  If you set it to "M" then the stock assigned to the sales order will be valuated (by valuated I mean that once the goods are produced they will be held in inventory as sales order stock with a value).  If you leave the valuation field blank then the stock assigned to the sales order will be held in inventory without a valuation.
If the sales order is not a cost collector then the cost to manufacture the order will be collected in your production order and the settlement rule for the production order will be to the material you are producing.  Since the material has a valuation, the costs collected in the production will be reduced by the material's valuation once it is received into finished goods inventory.  Any remaining costs are settled to wip or variance based on the production order's status and the RA key and variance key settings.
If you have set the sales order as a cost collector then the production order costs can either settle to the finished material or to the sales order.  If you are using valuated sales order stock you would normal have the costs settle to the material and the production order would behave very much like the previous example.  If you are not using valuated stock then you would need to settle the costs to the sales order and all the production costs would accumalte in the sales order.
If you are using the sales order as a cost collector than you will probably want to settle the sales order as well.  During the sales order settlement you have the option of settling the cost and revenue assigned to the sales order to COPA.  The settlement profile along with the RA key assigned to the sales order controls how these are settled.

  • Order Settlement Problems

    Hello Experts
I had settled many Production and Process Orders for July Month End but I did it directly without running the variance calculations (KKS1). I found that many orders did not get settled in this process. Did this happen because I did not run the variance calculations?
Now, when I settle those unsettled orders individually they are getting settled but in the August month and not in the July Month.
Is Variance calculation a must before settling the Orders?
    Prashant

Production orders settlement depends on their status
    Unfinished orders go to WIP
Finished orders (TECO, DLV) settle to varriance accounts
If you didn't do the variance calculation ther was nothing to settle - so it is a must
I don't understand how your individual settlements finishe in August as you have to specify the month of settlement

  • Month end producton order settlement

Dear friends,is it really necessary to settle the production orders of a particular period. What happens if we skip the settlement for a particular period .
           Please give me an answer.

    HI,
    if you don't settle:
1: your monthly P&L statement is wrong as the PP-order material consumption postings can be seen within P&L accounts but not the WIP that is "produced" due to this material consumption (because this is one of the postings happened during settlement).
2: the PP-order balance will never be zero (thats the other posting that is created when settling PP-orders) which lead to wrong CO-PA results (compared to P&L statement)
3: you are not able to do any PP-order archiving in SAP standard until order balance is not zero (the " marked for deletion" indicator cannot be set to PP-order, maybe thats no issue for the moment but after a few periods / years of pp-order creation your SAP system increases and gets slower/slower,... and then its time to archive old PP-orders...)
So it is highly suggested to do monthly PP-order settlement,,,
    Best regards, Christian

  • Production Order settlement to Sale Order

    Hi Gurus,
I have crated a sale order through VA01, I crated sale order specific BOM through CS61 and after that I executed Cost Estimate for the sale order.
    Sale Order No: 260
    Finished Product : 610
    Semi Finished: 611
    Semi Finished: 612
I executed MRP for sale order 260, System has created planned production for Material 610,611 and 612.
When I am trying to convert the planned production order to production order, system is automatically picking up settlement rule as Material instead of sale order for all the production orders. System is not allowing to change the settlement rule manually.
Our requirement is, Production Order of SFGs(611 and 612) should be settle to Production order of Finished Product(610). and the total cost of the production order of Finished Product(610) should be settle to Sale Order (260).
How can I get the above settlement rule into my production orders as default.
Please help me in this regards and guide me if i am going in wrong way.
    Thanks in Advance
    Ganesh
    Note:
    1. Our scenario is Make-To-Order.
    2. I am using same Order Type for all the production orders.

    Hi Venkat
When u manf SFG - SFG declared to stock and all calculations for WIP or Variances are done for SFG material depending on the order status
When u settle if the material is SFG in the production order - FI postings are done to relevant accounts for SFG matl
Now when the SFG matl is used in production of FG, SFG is consumed and Production order created for FG will have either WIP or variances and settlement is executed.
    For settling to sales order
Create settlement profile with sales order selected as valid receiver, and assign the profile to the Production order type.  Here u need two production order types
    1)  One normal production order - here normal settlement profile is attached
    2)  One order type for sales order production.  Here u attach sales order settlement profile.  Create allocation structure for this purpose
You can only one order type and settlement profile for both SFG and FG
Postings to relevant accoutns for SFG and FG is taken care thru valuation class and account determination
Hope the above clarifies - pls assign points if the above is useful
