Batch & inspection lot activation

hi experts,
I have one isssue in our client side.
I am working for process industry.I will creat one production for ome for a particular product.
I will get a regular output for every day,
For every output , i want to create batchnumber & inspection lot.
I can create batch number for regular input. At the same time i can create one inspection lot for one production lot.
How to solve these issue
Thanks& Regards
K.Bhuvaneswaran

Hi K.Bhuvaneswaran
The business scinario you have explained is not very clear, What I have understood is a product is being manufactured and for inspecting the same you wan't to create a lot with batch number and daily there will be one lot for the production of a day.
It is not clear that whether you are looking for creating a lot or batch automaticlly or manually.
If you want to create the lot and batch manually then refer following SAP Help
Batch Creation in Inspection Lots
Use
When you create an inspection lot manually, you can also create and assign a new batch to the inspection lot. When you create a new batch, you can assign the batch an external number or the system can assign an internal number, depending on your settings in Customizing. If the batch status management is active for your plant, the system sets the initial status for the new batch (for example, restricted or unrestricted) based on the setting for the material type in Customizing.
Prerequisites
The following settings are active in Customizing for Logistics - General (Batch Management):
An external or internal number assignment is specified for newly created batches (see Batch Number Assignment)
An initial status is defined for newly created batches (see Specify batch level and activate status management)
Activities
When you create an inspection lot manually, you specify the number for the new batch or, in case of an internal number assignment, the system assigns the number automatically.
When you save the inspection lot, the system creates the new batch.

  • QM Scenario for Automatic Data Transfer to Inspection Lot

    Hi Experts,
I have explained one QM scenario below. And also mentioned queries that I have in this. Could you please help me out on the same?
There are 2 SAP systems, A and B.
    Process works as follows:
-Delivery is created at A with B as recipient.
-Automatically an IDOC is being created and send out with the quality data of the batch/inspection lot (electronic COA)
-In the background a workflow is triggered which transfers the data to the goods receipt from production inspection lot.
In the system B, a subcontracting plant (DE08) will be created. During the subcontracting the materials provided to the subcontractor in real-life, however in SAP it will be brought to the subcontracting plant on a storage location specific to the subcontractor.
Now the subcontracting service itself will be simulated by a process order (own order type is ZSUB). During the creation of the process order, a service purchase requisition will be automatically created which is connected to the process order. This purchase order will be transferred to A.
After processing the purchase order, A will send service to B. B will do the process order confirmation. After process order confirmation an Inspection lot of type 04 will get generated automatically.
Once the service delivery from A to B is done, the IDoc incl. the QM-data will arrive. Workflow will be triggered by inspection lot status CNF (Confirmed) – I0009. Now the workflow needs to identify the 04-'Goods receipt from production' of the process order and transfer the data into this inspection lot. The connection for this would be the purchase requisition number which is included in the process order. So the connection would be from purchase order number- purchase requisition-process order-inspection lot.
    Workflow template: WS03100078
    Business Object: BUS2045
    I have following queries.
    1. Do I need to create Z-business object or the standard one will do the job?
    2. If I need to create Z-business object, then what changes will be required in coding?
    3. If I am using standard one, what all settings need to be done?
    4. What configuration needs to be done in the workflow template?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mrunal

    Dear Swarup,
The standard BAPI 's BAPI_INSPECTIONPLAN_CREATE Or ‘QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATE are not fulfilling my requirement .I need to create inspectiontion lot in R/3 system , which will invoke a process for creation of sample in another subsystem. But it is not very clear to me what a sample really means in QM, as i am an XI consultant .should a sample contain the recently generated Inspection lot number and its corresponding datas  ?

  • Inspection lot per HU instead of batch in inter company stock transfers

    Hello,
We are testing intercompany stock transfers and we face the following problem when we check inspection lots created at the receiving plant: one inspection lot is created for each HU, while we want one per batch.
We multiplied tests with many combination on  material settings on inspection type 01 (which is inspection type used on inspection lot):
    u2022     with or w/o u201CInsp. for HUu201D
    u2022     u201CControl inspLotu201D: blank, 1, 2 or X
    without success!
Letu2019s me precise that inbound delivery is created automatically from goods issue at issuing plant because we activated SPED functionality (then Hus numbers are directly taken from outbound delivery to inbound delivery).
Also we noticed something that could help understand the problem:
    1.     when issuing plant picks HUs into the warehouse, they confirm TO via RF transaction (LM61). As a result, outbound delivery as a main item and there is a split by several sub items, as many as HUs confirmed
    2.     when we test the picking confirmation out of a non RF transaction (LT12), there is a main item but only sub items per batch (qty is then aggregated)
What is maybe interesting to notice is in the first case, inspection lot at receiving plant is created per HU while in the second case, it is created per batch!
Second behavior is what we require but RF pick confirmation is mandatory for us!
Is there any chance to change QM behavior in that case?
    Thank you,

    Dear Gajesh,
thanks for your replay. It is very helpful.
    Option A
    1) The finish goods would be are already release and that does not go with our Q-policy.
    2) Does this mean, I have an inspection lot at the point of time of GR from production to warehouse and another inspection lot at the time of delivery. That would mean I double my work?  And the time of delivery happens one day after GR from production but the Q-results still need some more days. I do not see how this should work.
    Option B
    1) What do you mean by multiple GR to the warehouse storage location?
Where do I have to activate the copying option for the inspection lot?
Here I see the problem still existing. The result of the MIC has not been found out yet, the UD can not be done and I do multiple goods movement to the warehouse. What is the lelp? If I could make several stock transfer from the q-stock within the inspection lot that would be the best.
May I am thinking wrongly but the best would be to keep the stock in the q-stock. Does a suitable BAPI exist where I could program a logic to it or what do you think?
    Thanks for your feedback,
    Best regards,
    Heinz

  • Inspection type 01 - inspection lot creation based on vendor batch number

    Hi Guys,
this topic has been discussed several times here, but I was not able to find a suitable answer for my question.
I am facing the folowing requirement:
I have activated inspection type 01 for a raw material.
I am receiving a firs goods receipt from vendor A with vendor batch number 0001.
The system creates its own goods receipt batch number 0546 based on internal numbering.
A new inspection lot is created.
I am posting a second goods receipt from vendor a with vendor batch 0001.
The system creates a new batch number 0547 based on internal numbering.
A new inspection lot is created.
I do not want to get the second inspection lot, because I received vendor batch 0001 before and I am assuming it has been inspected or is in inspection.
Option 1: Post the second goods receipt against the first internal batch number created.
I am aware of this need at the moment, but a user is not always checking if there is an internal batch with the same vendor received before.
Can I customize the system to create inspection lots based on the fact that the vendor batch number was received before?
Or do I have to use an exit and some ABAP code to get the wanted result?
Thanks for your advice in advance.

You need to use one of the enhancements that Do-Wook has suggested.  There is no standard SAP way to suppress the inspection based on the vendor batch number.
With the first enhancement you use the system to check for a previously received vendor batch and if one is found, then that batch number is proposed and not the next one from the numbering series.  In this case, the lot isn't created than due to the inspection lot control of the inspection type.
With the second enhancement you check the vendor batch number and if it's been received you suppress the inspection lot creation and the stock goes right to unrestricted.
You'll probably need to do one or the other.  Myself, I prefer the first enhancement.

  • Inspection lot without batch no.

    Hi
For 03 inspection type, inspection lot is creating without batch number, while doing UD it is asking for batch number.
Client will give the batch number only at GR. Im unable to clear the lot.
Please advise, how to create a inspection lot without batch number or clear the lot without batch number.
Note: I used freely defined inspection points for 03 lot.
    Thanks&

    Janardhanan

    Hi
You need to apply SAP Note 146945 - Making usage decision for production lots w/o batch.
Also with the above note, you need to mentain the below setting,
    In recipe
Recipe header> Quality Management> Partial lot assign: Partial lot not supported
Select Operation with QM active, go to details> Insp. point completion: Valuation
    Thanks

  • Wrong batch populated on Inspection lot

Recently we came across the following issue.
GR have been posted for two by-products(mvt type 531) for a process order within a gap of 6 minutes. Since 05 inspection type was active for both the by-products, two inspection lots were created for two material documents. The batch updated in second inspection lot is same as first inspection lot (Tcode: QA03, Table: QALS). But the batch updated in the corresponding material document is different one (Tcode: MIGO, Table: MSEG). Even the batch in inspection lot is not created in the system (Tcode: MSC3N, Table: MCH1, MCHA).
Batch level is "Batch unique at material level".
Have anyone of you came across this issue? Please reply with your thoughts and experience.

No. We don't have split valuation. I am giving you example of issue . I am trying to search mat A and batch 100 in system but I didn't find in MCH1,MCHB,MCS3N. In short batch not created for particular mat and batch combination . When I searched inspection lot for both mat and batch combination then I found . This inspection lot is created after GRN for by product , movement type 531 , inspection type 05.When I saw batch in material document it is 101 instead of 100 .
    Question
    1. If batch 100 is not created for mat A then why it is showing on inspection lot header ?
    2. If batch in mat document is 101 then actually same batch should show on inspection lot header .How come batch 100 populating on inspection lot header ?
    Thanks ,

  • Automatic creation of inspection lot for Expired Batches

    Hi All,
I am in one trouble and need some help in above scenario.
I am able to create inspection lot for batches about to expire, but how to create inspection lots for batches which were already expired or which next inspection date already missed?
Master data like '09' inspection type, inspection plan is already maintained.
Second question, is QA07 also affect on special stocks like vendor stock or project stock etc?
    Immediate response will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi
To meet you above mentioned requirement you have to modify the program RQAAAS10 as per your logic both to create lot for Expired Material and to consider project stock or vendor stock as In standard SAP these stock are not considered.
    regards

  • Connection between batch and inspection lot number

    Hi all,
our GR in SAP triggers the creation of a batch number and an inspection lot number.
If I only know the batch number, where in SAP can I find the related inspection lot number?
    Thanks
    Anne

we have a Material Master that represents a semi-finished material that requires inspection at Goods Receipt from Production. In order to see the settings maintained for this material, click on the “Insp. setup” button:

  • QM Inspection Lot Successful UD but batch still pending QI

    Dear QM Master,
There's one issue as below -
QA have reissue a new inspection lot (QA02) for 1 Batch and successfully UD.
QA did change the usage from universal, 3 to good reciept, 5 under task list QP01.
bad news is .. when check inventory,, this batch still pending for QI.
What should we do ? Should we cancel the inspection lot ? If yes please advise what is the tcode?
    Or there's some others way.
    Thank you.

You said in your first posting that QA reissued a new inspection lot.  I take this to mean they used QA01 to create the lot using an inspection type other than the original 04.  Thus they used QP02 to change the usage so the created lot would pick up the new plan.
ANY manually created inspection lot will never control the stock.  In this case, the stock posting has to be done on the original lot.  You can use the newer lot for results recording.  But the original one has to be used to process the stock.
If the new lot was to be for an 04 lot you can create a manual 04 lot that would use the same insp plan as the original lot.  In QA01 you'll just be forced to enter in an order number when you create it.  But it still will never control stock.

  • Material document posted on the same inspection lot but using another batch

Hi, May I request your assistance with regards to our issues on iinspection lot For this inspection lot, there were three movements created. When doing Usage Decision, it is reporting that there are still remaining quantity 13,332.413 LPA open in the inspection lot using batch X But checking in MMBE, the amount is in batch Y and there is no remaining qty in batch X. can you help me UD the inspection lot? Thanks, sara

    Hi Sarah,
In UD screen, there is a message next to "insp End Date" that is " Actual Quantity of lot is greater than lot quantity". I guess, actual quantity has been changed using transaction QAC1.
Kindly check for corresponding entries in MB51.
There might be inconsistency between QM and MM stock.
Use Sap Note 48815 and check for any inconsistencies.
    Amol.

  • GRN With 2line items(material,batch same)one inspection lot for 2line items

    Dear Experts
As and when we make a GRN with 2 line items and same batch number we enter no. of containers differently but only the number from the first line item is flowing into the Inspection lot origin. We are creating only one inspection lot for 2 line items as the batch number is same for the items.
    1. In material master i have given 01 inspection type ( with control inslot.. Each material document, batch, storage location) :---
this is the reason system is creating only one inspection lot.
i am entering manually same batch number for 2line items...
Here my problem is ... while giving UD... SYSTEM IS PICKING ONLY FIRST LINE ITEM NO.OF CONTAINER... IT HAS TO BE BOTH LINE ITEMS CONTAINERS.... IT IS PICKING BOTH LINE ITEMS QUANTITY... NO.CONTAINER ONLY IT IS NOT PICKING....

    Hi,
As per your query if you put in MM forums then you will get the reply immly.

  • Inspection lot summary when GR post to same material and batch

    Dear Experts,
The business flow is, when material with same batch number come to plant, this batch may split and post to different storage location.
we have tried setting control inslot parameter to "2 For each material batch and storage location" but it only work within one storage location.
can any expert suggest idea about this thing, thanks a lot.

You'll only be able to stop the second lot from being created.  You won't be able to update an open, existing inspection lot because of the different storage location.  SAP can't have two segments of inventory linked to the same insp. Lot.
Are you using batch status at your plant? As an alternative, you could create the batches with a restricted batch status.  Then the whole batch, regardless of storage location shows as restricted stock.  Use the user exit to prevent creation of additional insp lots.  When the first insp lot is completed, the batch status can be changed via the UD stock posting to unrestricted stock.  When this happens, all stock of the batch in all other storage locations will change to unrestricted stock.

  • Batch not created for the Inspection lot?

    Hi Experts,
I have created a  the production order by inputting the Batch in the GR tab and released the production order. The release of Production order will create a Type 03 lot , but surprisingly it doesn't show the Batch in the Batch field when i look the inspection lot that was created by release of production order, instead it shows blank. I have checked the material master and it is batch managed material. Please let me know where I'm going wrong.
Configuration- Batch is unique at material level indicator checked
my plant has Batch status management indicator
Please find the screenshot below for type 03 lot and also the Batch management indicator in material master in sales/general view, work scheduling and warehouse1.
    Thanks,
    Pavan

    Hi Pavan,
According to SAP Note 50618, you may consider to implement the correction on that note or use partial lot assignment.
For partial lot assignment, you can find the setting in Routing header and customizing in SPRO with path: Quality Management - Quality Planning - Inspection Planning - General - Define Identifier for Inspection Points.
There's also another discussion regarding this issue. Please find here.

  • Batch missing in inspection lot

    Hi All,
    1. Porcess order created for final product A
    2. Confirmation is done so GR posted with 101 for A and batch 01
Issue:  But in inspeciton lot there is no batch for this material . in QA03 the batch is not there.
inspection type is 03 and usage decision is not yet done
I would like to know what could be the reason that batch is not there
    GR was posted on 15.9.2010

If you are talking about the 03 inspection lot a batch number is not required.  The batch number is only in the 03 lot when the batch number is preassigned in the process order.  If it is not preassinged, you can receipt multiple batches against the same process order, (hence the same 03 lot).  In many scenarios, a business will receipt many batches against the same process order.

  • Process order batch number not reflecting in corresponding inspection lot

    Hi QM gurus,
I am working on inprocess inspection for production. I am creating process order during that time batch no is generated automatically by the system. Now process order is released during this time Inspection lot generated with inspection type 03. Now the problem is in the inspection lot, process order batch number is not reflecting. I have checked all the master data seetings. All seems to be fine. what could be the problem. any settings missed can anybody help me out.
    Thanks
    Vinameath

    Hi Vinameath,
Go to the Master Recipe (C202) of this Process order/Material. Go to Recipe Header tab and click on the Quality Management Header button.
Now,go to the Partial Lot Assign field and maintain the value " 0 Partial Lots not supported " and save.
Then create a new process order and in all probabilities, the batch should appear on the in-process inspection lot.
    Hope this helps you!
