CCX 8

I have installed ccx 8.0.2 in cluster (pub and sub). I changed application user and password via CLI, it seems the process goes good but when I tried to get access to ccx editor, rtmt or other application I get a mistake (wrong user or password) and I have type old authentication data. Also If I want use ccxeditor, for instance and subscriber's ip address, in server field, I should use old data, I think that publisher server should replicate the new authentication info to subscriber. this isn´t happend. How can I solve this problem?
Thanks in advanced

Hi juan,
Are you on base UCCX 8.0(2) or have any Service updates - Ideally we have seen that resetting the application acccount or password do not work well on base 8.0(2) code.
I will higly recommend you to upgrade the boxes to Su3 if you havent done that so far.

  • Wireless VoIP roaming - getting an 802.11g phone to roam with CCX / CCKM

    Hello,
Our group is facing a pretty difficult issue at the moment, we are trying to deploy a wireless Avaya VoIP phone at one of our sites in Australia.
The site in question is located in Western Australia, which is on the other side of the continent to where our 5508 WLC is (in Sydney), so there is a latency of abouy 60-80ms between the sites. When testing the phone at the Sydney location, we're able to authenticate the phone via a number of methods (802.11x, 802.11x FT) and the phone can roam fine. When testing at the WA location, the 802.11x authentication method drops the call when roaming, and the 802.11x FT authentication method has about 2 seconds of dead air during roaming / reassociation.
The avaya phone supports a few different methods of "fast handoff" - CCKM and OKC - and we've only got the OKC (802.11 version of fast transition) method to work, not CCKM. The phone reports error messages when trying to connect to the network with CCKM enabled - specifically "No CCKM AP's" and "No CCX AP's".
    So I have some questions...
    1) Is a 60ms latency between sites a dealbreaker for wireless voice usually?
    2) The voice engineer is convinced that CCX is disabled on the WLAN. My understanding of CCX (according to online Cisco docco) is that it can't be switched off. Is this the case? I know CCKM can be disabled (in the Layer 2 Authentication options) but can CCX or CCKM be enabled / disabled anywhere else?
    3) The voice engineer has a point on one front - if we do a command "show ap ccx rm [APName] status", the command outputs "Beacon Request ..... Disabled." This seems to be related to CCX Location awareness - but even after switching this on in the WLC (both globally and for the WLAN), I cannot get this to enable.
    3) We have had some minimal success getting the phone to connect with only CCKM Authentication enabled. The phone could not roam. When we did this, I looked at the Client information in the WLC of this device and the CCX Version read "Not Supported." Does this perhaps mean some kind of CCX compatibility problem?
    4) Is there much of a difference between OKC (Fast Transition) and CCKM in terms of roaming time? I.e. are we better off trying to install a WLC at the location rather than getting this work remotely.
We're a bit lost on this. Anyone that's had experience in getting Wireless VoIP phones to roam on a wireless campus before, particularly where the WLC is remote, I'd love to hear from you.
    Thanks,
    Dave

Hi, thanks Steve. Aironet IE is enabled.
The encryption is news to me. We intially tried WPA2/AES & WPA/TKIP together but had no success at all. We then moved to WPA/TKIP, and we were able to get the phone to connect to the WLAN using the CCKM settings, but it doesn't roam at all & the WLC reported the Clients CCX version was "Not Supported".
I think the phone has CCX version 4. Are you certain that the phone will only support WPA & WPA2 with CCX v5? Just that this sounds a little strange, the phone's documentation claims to support CCKM, but if you're right then there's no way we can secure our phone conversations? In previous testing, we did actually temporarily drop all authentication / encryption and the roaming worked perfectly.
    Thanks for your help...

first of all i REALLY A REALLY appreciate your reply
    but two questions remain:

  • REMOTE RECORDINGS OVER THE WAN IN CCX 7

    We have a customer
with CCX 7 local agents and recording services ( BUT NO QUALITY MONITORING)
Normally records all local agents calls ( colocated with CCX.
Now customer has remote agents via WAN and needs to record their conversations.
According specifications and PDI case the sutiationis:
"This deployment model can support silent monitoring and recording for agents at any WAN-connected site by using desktop monitoring. (Refer the Cisco Unified CCX Software and Hardware Compatibility Guide for a list of phones that support desktop monitoring). It can also support SPAN port monitoring for agents on the VLAN segment local to Cisco Unified CCX server. This deployment model does not incorporate additional remote Monitoring components, so silent monitoring and recording is not possible for agents who are using the Cisco IP Phone Agent at remote sites. Similarly, silent monitoring and recording is not possible for agents at remote sites who are using phones that do not support desktop monitoring."
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_7_0/design/guide/uccx70srnd.pdf
    page 4-6
The list of phones not supported for desktop monitoring is listed in the compatibility guide.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
In other words CCX can support "silent monitoring and recording for agents at any WAN-connected site by using desktop monitoring"
But assume you use an IP Phone that supports desktop monitoring
AS RECORDING OPTION WITHOUT QUALITY MONITORING NEEDS MAC ADRESS OF AGENT how can CCX record agent calls taking into accoutn that MAC address is lost when traversing the WAN ...
So the question for this dsicussion is :
IS QUALITY MONITORING THE ONLY WAY TO RECORD REMOTE AGENTS OVER THE WAN OR ARE TEHRE OTHER OPTIONS WITHOUT IT??
    Pease reply to [email protected]

It is possible without QM. When using desktop monitoring, the phone is configured to Span to PC port. The agent must be running CAD and the PC running it must be attached to the PC port on the phone. CAD sees the spanned packets from the phone and then forwards them to the recording service on the CCX server. The big gotcha is that the NIC in the PC must not discard 802.1q-tagged packets. If the NIC discards them instead of forwarding them into the NDIS stack, CAD will never see them. Sometimes this takes a Google search and a registry setting change to fix if it doesn't work at first.

  • CCX 4.5 to 9.0 upgrade SKU question

Our customer wants to upgrade his Cisco IP phone system to version 9.1.
Now they are using CallManager version 5.1 and CCX version 4.5.
CallManger upgrade is clear to me but the CCX is not.
I have read in Cisco Unified Contact Center Express Upgrade Guide:
"If you are running any other earlier releases of Cisco Unified IP IVR, such as 4.0(5) or 4.5, consider upgrading your system to Unified CCX 7.0(2)ES03 and then use this document to upgrade to Unified CCX 9.0(x) using the Windows to Linux upgrade."
So upgrading CCX from version 4.5 to 9.0 is possible.
But when I configure "L-CCX-90-UPG-LIC" in CCW I could set "CCX 9.0 UPGRADE - 7.0 to 9.0" only.
    I cannot find "CCX 4.0 UPGRADE - 4.0 to 9.0" or something.
Which SKU I have to buy in order to upgrade CCX version 4.5 to 9.0?
    Thanks in advance,
    Laszlo

Gergely brings up a good point. The decision needs to be based on how badly you want to keep the historical reporting data. If this isn't important to you then I would agree: you can save yourself a lot of time by just building a new 9.x install and manually migrating the configuration over.
Note that the Windows to Linux migration tool from 7.0 to 9.0 only carries forward roughly the most recent ~1.5GB of the database records so you'll experience some data loss even during an upgrade.

  • Work around for User ID 32 character limitation in CCX Agent?

Are there any kind of creative work arounds for getting past the ridiculous 32 character limit when logging into the CCX Agent?
We are moving toward using the User Principal Name (UPN) in CUCM LDAP which means that the domain is now tacked onto the end of their existing User IDs.  We are doing this so that users from multiple domains can authenticate to various Cisco tools and apps.  It works very well, except when firing up the Agent!
I've already been playing around with UPN suffixes, and while I can get them to show up in CUCM (and subsequently), I can't seem to get them to authenticate.
I shouldn't even have to get this creative, just remove the 32 character limit, Cisco!
We are running CCX 8.5 and CUCM 8.6

    Hi ,
I am not aware about any such workarounds.
After referring to the below guide,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_5/configuration/guide/uccx851ag.pdf
On page 78, it is mentioned as,
Caution : When logging into Cisco Agent Desktop, agents use the Unified CM user ID and password. While the Unified CM limits agent IDs to 128 alphanumeric characters, the Unified CCX limits agent IDs to 31 alphanumeric characters. Be sure to abide by the 31 character-limit when configuring agents in Unified CM.
I am sure even if it works by some workarounds also, you may see some issues specially from the CAD\CSD\CDA side, which Cisco will not support it quoting the same above reason.
    Hope it helps,
    Anand

in the campaign feed, the social contact is going up every massege ,and the agent desktop web page is login status
the issue is that i dont c the chat working in the agent desktop at all
i dont recive nothing....like somthing is missing......
    any ideas???

CUIC is within UCCX and is supported in BE6K no issues there. Social Miner is a separate VM and isnt' one of the supported apps from all the documentation I have seen. Social Miner is used for web chat but isn't really solely dedicated for CCX, It can also be used as a standalone app.

  • CCX Promotional Bundles for UCCX 9.0

I am ordering a Mixed 9.0 environment (CUWL and UCL)
I do not see CCX-90-25P  under either the R-CUWL-STD-K9 or R-UCL-UCM-LIC-K9
What do I do right now when trying to quote 25 Premium CCX seats?  I can use the L-CCX-90-NEW-LIC, but this is going to price at 25x$1850 = $46,250.
CCX-90-25P is only $34,495, so clearly what I need to present to the customer.

it eventually showed up in netformx and ccw
i used a mixed bundle / cuwl and ucl / so i could find the promo under R-UCL-UCM-LIC-K9

  • A doubt with a script in CCX 9

    Hi
I have a script wich a user can place a call to a DN, hear a prompt asking for leave a message to be recorded and after finish press #.
Question is script is running all properly but i can not reach where is leaving message recorded.
    This is the script
And this is where i put to be saved the prompts, but is always empty
    In systemPromptDir  "..\..\system\es_ES\"
Is a CCX 9 what i must to change in order to make this run?
    Thanks!!

Please, please, please, I am begging you on my knees. Please. Cooperate.
Do reactive debug. Tell me where it fails. What is the last step that is correctly executed.
Shooting in the dark saying maybe this is wrong or that is wrong will not get us anywhere.
By the way, that variable systemPromptDir is not used anymore if you did what I told you and removed the Write Document step.
This is the last comment from me if you can't do what I ask you to do. I am sorry, but I can't help if you are not willing to cooperate.

  • CCX 10.5 Script Editor Not Working Win7 Enterrpise 64 Bit

Anybody else running into this?  Other colleagues stated that they have CCX 10.X editors working with Windows 7 32 bit.
My issue is that the initial splash screen comes up for a quick sec and goes away.  I've tried Win XP compatibility and Run As Administrator.
Found this post where I think the original person was referring to CCX 7.0 and people replying where referring to the issue that I'm running into with CCX 10.5
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12149992/ccx-script-editor-hangs-win7-then-closes
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi Dan,
We have seen such issues with UCCX 10.5 editor. For some reason on the other issue, the editor was not installed in the correct location (default).
    Solution:
    * Uninstall the editor.
    * Install the editor (Run as administrator) directly into Program files in the
    path : C:\Program Files (x86)\wfavvid_1051
    * Run the application by running it as Administrator.
    * While uninstalling and reinstalling, try to keep the anti-virus disabled.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Can I to use a remote agent in CCX??

    Hi,
I have a site A (Brazil) with CUCM and CCX working...
But, I need to create another queue with a new agent that will stay at Chile (Site B)...
Can I to register the new agent at Brazil CUCM? Can I to create a new queue at Brazil CCX for him?
What is the WAN features for the environment in discussion?
    Thanks.

This should be possible and I believe the information you need is in the Solution Reference Network Design document, located here:

  • CCX 5.0(2) SR2 to SR3 upgrade issue

Good day.I'm going to upgrade our ccx 5.0(2) from SR2 to SR3.
As i found out in manual, before upgrade,i should copy wfavvid folder to another location.
But there's no any step what i need to do with this directory then.
My question: after upgrade,is there need to replace updated folder with backed up one?
Or this folder need to be copied only if upgrade was unsuccessfull?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I think the copy of wfavvid is simply a safeguard in case you have problems with the upgrade.  You do not want to copy that directory back after the upgrade otherwise.  Just copy it to another location for safeguard and run the upgrade.  Restart when prompted and you should be good to go.  If all is well after testing you can get rid of the copied wfavvid directory.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • CCX agent/resource issue

    Hi everyone,
We have a lab enviroment setup:
    1x CUCM System version: 7.1.5.10000-12
    2x CCX System version: 8.0.2.10000-41
we did everything by the book,
    1) end user ( IPCCX line associated, Group permissions defined, device associated)
    2) application user defined in UCM, devices associated to RmCm application user
If we check in CCX administration:
    tools->user management->user view
users are visible and have agent capabilities
    if we go to:
    Subsystems->RmCm->Resources
    we have no resources/agents available?
    also see the attachments
    Did anyone have similar experience?
    Regards!

    Hi Aaron!
well, the restart of "Cisco DirSync" didn't quite do the trick.
i captured the "cisco desktop sync service" log, and found multiple errors,

"ERROR LRMS2001 The LRM client failed to connect to any service."
"ERROR CACMI2000 LRM Error: Failed to initialize LRM Client."
"ERROR STD2001 Client failed to connect to any service."

  • Cisco CCX support for TTY/TDD

    All;
I need to deploy a CCX 9x solution that supports TTY/TDD.  I can find documents that describe our phone asscessability and how to connect a device to a FXS port. but I cannot find anything that says a hearing imparied person can communicate with CCX.  How does CCX support a TTY/TDD device? The only thing I found is web chat through social miner.
    thanks
    tony

The MIVR engine in CCX does not support TTY/TDD devices directly. The caller would need to invoke a relay operator as they would with any other voice-only call. Once the call is transferred to an agent they could conceviably use a TTY/TDD coupler-style device to communicate with the caller. The agent cannot use a straight FXS-driven device since the ICD subsystem can perform CTI control/observation on supported Cisco IP Phones.

  • Cisco Social Miner 9.0 with CCX multisession chat

    Hi There
We are currently testing Social Miner with a customer customer and would like to know the following below
When the Agent start a chat session with a customer the "login-user-id" is shown to the custome.r Can we rather get the “Display name displayed in the web chat instead of the “login user-id” (as it is now).?
Can we  "promote” if the chat its open or not ,"sort of a trigger point"  that should be as if the agent is logged into social miner, then pushing information to the chat web site that it is open and should be seen by end-user that the chat is available before they submit their issue ?
Before UCCX 10.5 We want to use a Single CAD client using multi chat windows in the integrated webrowsers. Of course we will use several Chat Agent-id's one per chat session. We know that in UCCX 10.5 there will be support for “multisession chat" but until then we want to use several webbrowsers in the CAD for chat
    Question: is this possible?
    rgds Mikael

    Hi Mikael,
For Multisession you will need SocialMiner 10.5 with CCX 10.5. SocialMiner 9 will not work for multisession.
Please find the answers to your questions below -
    1) We are working to deliver the feature to set aliases for agent which if set will land up in the customer page instead of the login id.
    2) We don't have the auto trigger, what we have is a auto answer which suggests that no agent is available currently. This is notified as soon as customer sends the issue request.
    3) We don't support this. However you can play with browser profiles and can launch multiple browser instances in different profiles and have multiple logins on stand alone browsers. This is not tested and I am not sure if the feature will work end to end.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Praveen
