Charged double for BT broadband

I just found out I have been charged double the amount for the BT broadband for the past year.
I have found the email confirmation from BT with the price agreed but they said they have to listen to the calls and investigate. Does anyone know how long their investigation lasts? I heard some really bad stories.
If I have thir email confirmation with the price agreed and when my contract started, so what do they need to investigate? for me everything is very clear. I just think they dont want to pay back.
In the meantime I am still being overcharged.

I bought an in-app purchase for Motion-x GPS drive and go got charged twice. How do I get refunded for this? Whenever I click report a problem it refers me to some page saying something about the latest version of iTunes. I have a Mac with ML and I already have the latest version downloaded. Select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History on your computer.
Currently, if your purchase happens to be your most recent purchase you will not be redirected to the report form, in this case use the report a problem option from the invoice that was emailed to you.

  • BT charging me full price for faultly broadband: 9...

grrrrrr....... I was told months ago "rest assured sir, you will NOT be charged for broadband until the fault is fixed"
now I've found that was a lie and they have been charging me the normal rate.
They say it's quite normal for them to charge their customers the full rate even when the broadband is faulty!!!!
I'm paying for unlimited broadband but not getting it because it cuts off every time the phone rings, and often it's just too slow to use!
So basically there is no insensitive for them to fix the fault

they'll probably give you a credit on the account for the months that you had bad service for once they've fixed it.

  • Charged twice for Broadband? Bill is confusing

    Hello.
I signed up for Option 1: 10Gb Broadband and unlimited calls.
My bill appears with these charges:
Package Broadband and calls - £15.99
and [quote] "this package gives you • Calling plan Unlimited Anytime Plan • Broadband BT Total Broadband Option 1." [unquote]
    then
    Internet Phone
BT Talk Anytime Plan - £5.99
[quote] This is the cost of your Broadband at £5.99 a month charged in advance. [unquote]
That appears to me that I pay for a bundle at £15.99 a month which includes Broadband, and then a further £5.99 again for my broadband.
    I'm confused.
In the month I made only three calls through the internet phone and these were after 7pm so no charges there.
... and just to add confusion, when do I get the £40 for my new BT Credit Card??
    Many thanks.

Had a quick reply through BT's email enquiry form from a Digital Care Advisor.
Apparently, I opted any time package on my BT Broadband TalkVoip service so I had been charged £5.99 on all my bills.  (I have no recollection of 'ticking this box.')
So my 7 calls in 3 months via BT Broadband Talk VoIP cost £17.97.
Now I'll need to contact someone to request removal of this BT Broadband Talk option.  I assume that it *IS* possible to have unlimited Landline Call option and the usual after 7pm and weekend free VoIP calls.

You can't gift it, gifting can only be done from within the store, not from within your library.
Puchases are considered final but you can try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

  • Been charged for additional broadband usage & don'...

I have 2 broadband connections into my house. One is a BT infinity line with 40gb included & The other is an unlimited business line through another company.
We've had the infinity line for just over a year & originally the only devices connected to it were the BT Vision box, my sons ipad & my sons iphone. Mine and my husbands devices are all connected to the business broadband. We connected my sons to BT as a way of monitoring his usage but he's only 9 so we weren't anticipating huge usagev through it. Since Christmas my parents smart phones have been connected to it but they are only in our house for 2 hours every 2 weeks or so and as they are in their late 70's they're not playing games or downloading on them
On January 13th I had an email saying I was at 28gb and then on the 19th one to say i was at 36gb. I didn't think too much about it. Then on 18th Feb I had an email to say I'd used 72gb in January. I should probably have looked into it more closely at the time but I've been battling cancer so it really didn't rate high on my priorities at the time. However when I got an email on 12th April saying usage for the April was already at 28gb I told my husband to disconnect my sons devices from the BT Internet and connect them to our unlimited broadband. Despite him doing thisI got another email on 14th April saying we were at 36gb and then yesterday I got an email to say we had used 58gb in April. Struggling to understand how we can have used 22gb with no devices connected to it apart from the BT vision box and maybe one or two phones for a handful of hours.
I've spent 2 hours on live chat tonight with a very nice person in what I presume was India from his name & he sent me a day by day breakdown of my usage for the past 30 days. Interestingly it showed 3.5 gb of usage on a day that my son and I were staying in a hotel & my husband was out at work all day. This also shows usage this month so far of over 16gb with virtually nothing other than BT vision connected to it all month. The gentleman on livechat suggested someone else might be using our broadband but I'm not sure how this can happen. Other than that he couldn't suggest anything to help me resolve this issue. I am obviously disputing the additional charges I have incurred.
Can anyone help me as I'm at a total loss what to do next

  • Charges for exceeding Broadband limit

I've just received my latest quarterly bill and find I'm being charged £5 for going over the 40 Gig limit on my Infinity 1 account for November last year.
The email that was sent out at the time said that my usage for that month was 44 Gig.
If BT charge for usage over the limit in 5 Gig increments at a cost of £5.30 surely I needed to hit 45 Gig before incurring additional charges.
    Curious

Flo, I think you will find that that will not apply for all the reasons already given. A post on a forum by an employee will not be regarded as a policy or terms and condition that the company can be held to. Imagine if an employee posted that from now on all bills will receive a 75% discount. Will the company be held to that? It was a post that was correct t time of posting but has since been superseded. I'm sure you could find many such posts if you searched.

    Hi Folks,
We stopped supplying BT Broadband Talk to new customers in January 2011 and we have posted recently that BT planned to withdraw the service in 2013.  Just to update you, this date has been deferred. The BB Talk service will be withdrawn, but not till after 2013.  Please be assured we will let you know before the service is removed.

  • Charge for BT Broadband not on Bill?

I live with my folks at the moment.  The BT bill is in my dad's name, but I have always paid for the broadband connection.  I was with UKOnline until BSkyB shafted them.
A week or so before the 30th November 2010 I went to BT's website and signed up on line for BT Unlimited broadband in my name, (but using our house's BT account number).  I echatted with a BT support person that said this was okay as long as I had the bill payers permission.
On the 30th November the switch happened and we have been on BT broadband to date.
Initial emails stated I would pay 24.99GBP (for the broadband) plus 4.99GBP for postage for the BT Home HUB.
My father pays the BT bill by Direct Debt monthly, but he told me tonight that his Direct Debt is still the same as before and the broadband has not appeared on the bill.
Can I just check that the money is taken monthly?  Or is it at some other period?
    Thanks.
    Chris.

That does seem to be the case, but its still weird!
The DD has gone up from 17GBP odd a month to 65GBP odd a month.  The bill states the broadband is paid up till March 2011!  Not sure how a 50 quid a month increase covers a 24.99 bill?
I suspect though, like most companies that use DD, they have seen an opportunity to have our money in their bank account rather than in ours, and have seized it with both hands!
    Chris.

  • CHARGED TWICE FOR LINE RENTAL/BROADBAND ETC

I had paid my line rental/broadband etc ( unlimited calls broadband) in advance as normal, the line was then changed over into husbands name, and he is paying line rental etc (seperate billing) but I am still being billed for the same. I have called e/mailed and been assured that this has been sorted, but I have now received an e/mail for november bill. BT are expecting to get payment from my husband and from me for the same package. If I pay this they will have there money twice for the same package. I called bt again yesterday and have been assured I will receive an amended bill by e/mail,but this has not happened. Can Any-one give me advice please

  • Being overcharged for additional broadband I'm not...

Please could somebody help me with this as I'm getting nowhere fast with your customer services!
I've had BT infinity broadband since Dec 2011, my monthly allowance is 40gb per month and my average usuage has always been 20-25gb per month. Last month I was told by BT that I used 48gb of my monthly allowance and would be charged £5 for extra 5gb I went over.
On Friday 13th of this month, I spent nearly two hours being pushed from pillar to post trying to explain that I hadn't changed anything in what I viewed on-line. I explained I didn't stream music, movies, iplayer but the attitude I received was disgusting.
I was told that 'The data BT receives states the usuage of broadband and that I had to pay accordingly!'
I likened this to credit card fraud but the difference is that I would be compensated for such fraud whereas BT refused to accept my explanation - as their paying cutomer - that it's impossible that I would suddenly double my broadband usuage!
On Friday 13th, I was told that a report would be made on my account and I would be contacted in 48hrs with their findings but guess what?! No call 48 hours later and I've just checked my usuage and I'm over the 40gb allowance already.
I've changed my password to access my broadband and no-one else has access apart from my wife and I.
Furthermore, BT claim on one particular weekend, my total usuage was 6-8gb which is completely impossible as we were away on this weekend.
Please can somebody with any ounce of customer service deal with this situation?!!!

Hi.  Sorry to tag on to this but I can't see where else to go!  Got my bill yesterday and discovered that I'd been charged an extra £10.60 for broadband useage last month.  No need to explain here how long it took to get through to speak to someone about it but when I did I was told that despite my average monthly useage being about 23gb (limit of 40gb) on 16 august I used 8.3gb and on 24 August I used 6.7gb.  The days in between are 500mb, 111mb, 200mb, 260mb, 265mb, etc, etc.  I replied to his questions that no, no-one had keys to my house, no, none of the neighbours had sneaked in and got a look at my password and no we did not download films or anything of the sort.  We are two adults using an ipad, an ipod and a laptop occasionally to look at the internet, social media sites, etc.  No downloading of music or films takes place.  When I got nowhere I asked to speak to the supervisor.  He was busy apparently but would phone me back within two hours.  Needless to say that never happened either.  I have now phoned again this morning and spoken to someone else who STILL would not put me through to a supervisor.  He agrees with me that this looks unusual given our normal usage but it could apparently be caused by downloads that happen annually (?) from apple or windows and this could have caused this spike.  I suppose my question here is, could that be possible?  Has anyone heard of that before?  I am NO expert and in the end gave up.  However, now I've found all of this I feel I should be doing something about this now rather than leaving it to happen again.
Can anyone help with suggestions?  Many thanks.

It is possible that you accidentally double clicked the order in some way, some how processing it twice. Clearly you don't need two copies of the same magazine and it is unlikely Apple will not refund you.
On the receipt there should be a section asking you to report a problem.   I suggest you do just that and the matter will be resolved.
