You can get Cisco TransportPlanner as a partner. You need to ask for it your Cisco representative (account group) and they’d be able request the tool for you.
Note, this too is for 15454 (M2/M6/M15) MSTP platform.

What Cisco UC product can announce the caller ID?
Is there a Cisco UC product that can announce the caller when the phone rings? Can you pick and choose when to announce caller ID? We just want to announce calls that are delivered to the IPCC extension only based on the incoming DNIS. Environment is CUCM 7.1.3.31900-1; UCCX is 8.0.2.11004-12 Enhanced nonHA; and Unity is 7.0.(2).
The script takes a command line parameter, and vocalizes it.
Example:
cscript tts.vbs "Hello, my name is Anthony."
This script does not play a wav file, rather it generates text to speach on the fly.
So if you wanted it to play the caller information, you could pass it the ANI as the parameter. The Run External Application action provides you the ability to pass the Calling Number to the application as a parameter. Unfortunately, it's limited to passing the parameters at the end of the exec string, so things like this would not be possible without script modification:
Example of what will not work:
cscript tts.vbs "A caller at " ani " is calling you."
That will not work, because the CAD action does not let you specify the parameter for ANI at an arbitrary location within the exec string. It only let's you use it at the end, like this:
Example of what will work:
cscript tts.vbs "Call from " ani
What I noticed during my testing is that the default behavoir of the tts engine is to read the phone number like a number and not like a string of digits.
Here's a patched version that fixes that:
filename tts.vbs
dim argsset args = wscript.argumentsif args.count < 1 then wscript.quit(1)dim tts, sentence, regex, number_matches, number_match, number_explodedset tts = createobject("sapi.spvoice")set regex = new regexpregex.global = trueregex.pattern = "\d+"sentence = ""for i = 0 to args.length - 1: sentence = sentence & args.item(i) & " ": nextset number_matches = regex.execute(sentence)for each number_match in number_matches number_exploded = "" for i = 1 to len(number_match.value) number_exploded = number_exploded & mid(number_match.value, i, 1) & " " next number_exploded = left(number_exploded, len(number_exploded) - 1) sentence = replace(sentence, number_match.value, number_exploded)nexttts.speak sentenceset tts = nothingwscript.quit(0)
Now that new version would turn this:
cscript tts.vbs "Call from 6125551212"
Into this:
"Call from 6 1 2 5 5 5 1 2 1 2"

Interoperability of cisco wireless products?
I've been doing a lot of research on various Cisco wireless products and the options are kind of confusing.
I'll start with my deployment; I have two locations both of which have a manufacturing and warehouse environments (no climate control) and regular offices.
Location 1 needs 3 APs on the production floor and 1 in the offices.
Location 2 needs 5 APs on the warehouse floor and 4 for the offices.
I was thinking about using the Cisco 521 APs for both the production floor and offices and the Cisco 526 Wireless Controller for Location 1. I figure that will give them room for expansion and keep the costs low.
For location 2 I was thinking about the Aironet 1240AG APs for the warehouse floor, Aironet 1140AG APs for the offices and then a Cisco 2112 Wireless Controller to manage all the APs.
Both locations require WPA (or WPA2) encryption and roaming.
My questions are:
Will the 521 APs work with the 2112 controller? For that matter, what sort of interoperability is there with the APs and controllers? Can I manage any Cisco AP with any Cisco Controller?
Are there any cheaper APs than the 1140AG that will work with the 2112 controller?
Is the 1240AG a good choice for a non-climate controlled warehouse environment? The APs are going to be mounted on the ceiling which is roughly 50 feet high and I'm going to be very upset if I deploy these APs and then have one fail during the summer 6 months later because it wasn't made for volatile environments.
The 521 APs are only going to be about 15 feet up so they can be accessed with a ladder so I'm not so worried about them.
Thanks! Will the 521 APs work with the 2112 controller?
No.
Are there any cheaper APs than the 1140AG that will work with the 2112 controller?
You could try the 1130. 1140 supports 802.11n while 1130 is a/b/g only.
Is the 1240AG a good choice for a non-climate controlled warehouse environment?
The 1240, like the 1130, supports a/b/g only while the 1250 supports a/b/g/n. The newer 1260 is controller-based only. The 1240, 1250 and 1260 use external antennae that's an OPTION. -
Cisco WiMax products and solutions
Hi,
I should need to provide a technical solution to our customer who asks for a WiMax solution to build a wireless campus between a train and rail station along the railway and also under a tunnel. I am having a look to Cisco solutions but I have some difficult to find the right product suited for custome needs.
For example I didn't undestand yet which product Cisco provides for Subscriber unit, in my case the train. More over I read that as ASN Cisco suggests ASR5000 router, is it correct? I think that it's good for Service Provider but I think it is too much dimensioned for my applicationis, so I'd like to know if there is other appliances more suited for my application ?
Any help and advices wil be very appreaciated.
Thank you in advance.

angeloHi Angelo,
I'm a TAC guy and usually we redirect our partners/customer to the Cisco Sales Team who in turn can bridge you over with some other parties inside Cisco to get the most out of the discussions. If you haven't tried that channel yet, I advise you to do. Just contact your Account Manager.
And sure, if other people on this forum can help you out, that will be great as well.
Thanks

802.11i Supported by Cisco Wireless Products?
Hello all,
Got a customer looking to install a wireless network however does not wish to do this unless the units support 802.11i.
Are there any routers/cards that support this that I can recommend?
Thanks,
LeonThere is no Cisco hardward supports 802.11i yet. There is a plan for Cisco to provide 802.11i. I am told not to disclose any future new hardward and new feature information. You need to talk to the local Cisco account team.

Hello all,
i wanted to connect DC to DR site by 10g link.if i get the dark fibre, which Cisco optical product will meet my requirements for dwdm connection. i checked ONS 15454 but it seems its bit big as i am just using 1 pair of fiber.
Any suggetions.
thanks in advance. We are not saying that the 15454 is the box for you. The distance and your expected wavelength growth helps determine what system to pick.
You mentioned your wanting to transport 1G links as well, then maybe a passive CWDM solution would work (see link below). This solution will also allow for a 1310nm channel to be added that could possibly be used with your 10G X2 module. There are also options to integrate with DWDM to add additional wavelengths (2nd link below).
CWDM Solution

EDWDM Solution
<https://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps5455/product_data_sheet0900aecd806a1c36.html>
These passive systems can be easy to use versus deploying a full-blown DWDM system.
Hope this helps! -

How to build a measurement system using NI products and the system is outside PC
I would like to build a system that uses NI's following products:
1. Wave form generator
2. Switches
3. A/D board
My question is: How to build such a system such that
the system is outside PC? For example, the system is
like an ordinary instrument that can be connected to
PC through RS 485 port.
Thanks! If you are planning on using SCXI, you have two options. You can still use the PXI-1000B chassis, and you will need to connect your DAQ board to the SCXI system with a cable.
You can also consider using a PXI-1010 or PXI-1011 chassis. We call them combo chassis because they come with some PXI slots and they have an SCXI chassis attached to them. In this chassis, you can connect your DAQ board in the PXI slot closest to the SCXI chassis, and the DAQ board will communicate with the SCXI chassis through the internal PXI backplane, so you will not need to connect them through a cable. The PXI-1010 chassis has 8 PXI slots and 4 SCXI slots, and the PXI-1011 chassis has 4 PXI slots and 8 SCXI slots.
The MXI-3 extender will let you control any PXI chas
sis from a desktop. Keep in mind that there are two interfaces: the PCI-PXI-8330, which uses a copper cable, and the PCI-PXI-8335, which uses a fiber optics cable. The advantage of the fiber optics cable is that it is less likely to have noise and the PXI chassis can be up to 200 meters away from the computer.
Now, given that your signals have a 150V amplitud, you will need a SCXI-1127 module instead of a PXI-250x.
Finally, we do not have an amplifier in PXI form that can read a 50 KHz - 300 KHz and peak voltage 5v, and amplify it to 120v. However you could check other PXI vendors for those boards. You can find some information of third party vendors by going to the NI Developer Zone and clicking on the Third Party Product Advisor link on the left.
Hope this helps,

Compatibility Cisco 3750 and GBIC 1000Base-ZX/SFP
Hello,
I have some problems to use a GBIC 1000Base-ZX on a cisco 3750.
With some research , i have find these thing :
The Catalyst 3750 models support these Cisco SFP options:
1000BASE-LX
1000BASE-SX
1000BASE-T
1000Base-ZX didn't appear.
What do you think of such thing.
Thanks for helpThe 1000BASE-ZX SFP (Cisco product number GLC-ZX-SM=) is supported on the Catalyst 3750:
Cisco Optical SFP Transceiver Compatibility Matrix
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps5000/products_device_support_table09186a0080212cba.html
List price in the US is the same as for the 1000BASE-ZX GBIC (Cisco product number WS-G5487=)
It's possible that the information you have found has not been updated yet. I believe the ZX SFPs were among the last ones to become available. The Release Notes in the link below are the first ones to mention this SFP, they refer to it as "new hardware" (versus the SX and LX SFPs):

Hi!
I try to configure a Cisco 5508 Wireless controller and 25 Air-lap1041 to use as VoIP and data. I read documents, manuals, etc, but the AP doesn't charge the configuration, or not conect with the Wireless Controller, why? No Radius server present, only WPA security.howto, please...
I try to put a static ip in the LAP, with lwapp or capwap command, (LWAPP/CAPWAP ap ip address direccion mascara) and the AP returns "You should configure Domain and Name Server from controller CLI/GUI." and i can't change the name of the AP (Command is disabled).

Hola:
I buy a gigabit switch. I connect the service-port to gigabit switch, and laptop to gigabit switch. I used 192.168.1.x ip address (192.168.1.157 to service-port and 192.168.1.233 to wired port on laptop, well, the laptop has two ip adress, 192.168.1.233 and 209.165.200.2, and the laptop works ok. Ping to 209.165.200.230 -ip address of management interface- and ping to 209.165.200.203 -ip address for AP, is assigned by DHCP of WLC. And i connect the ap to gigabit switch, and the wlc assigns well an ip direction.
I post the run-config and sysinfo log. The gigabit switch is tp-link model tl-sg1005d, no configuration.
Before the logs, I see this message from AP:
*Apr 19 23:10:20.211: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: This AP is not supported in controller
version 6.0.199.4 ---->What's mean that? Is it compatible the ap with the WLC? ¿Es compatible el AP con el WLC?
Hola:
He comprado un switch gigabit.
*Apr 19 23:10:20.211: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: This AP is not supported in controller
version 6.0.199.4 ---->What's mean that? Is it compatible the ap with the WLC? ¿Es compatible el AP con el WLC?
Un saludo

I already mention the TurboACL feature statement. With ACLs, fewer are faster, and how they ordered (especially without TurboACL) impacts CPU. How you order you class-maps, within a policy, and how the match statements are ordered will also have some impact on the CPU load. If buffers are being allocated/deallocated, that too will impact CPU loading. I assume CEF is enabled, but for some traffic, flow caching might decrease CPU load.Remember a software based router, like the 7200s, are, more or less, a computer that takes your configuration and determines what's to be done with every packet it "sees". The more your configuration requires for per packet analysis, the more load for each packet. There are whitepapers addressing high CPU load caused by "process switching", but what you posted appears to be mostly all interrupt processing, which is "fast path", or optimal, packet forwarding. There's not much you can normally do to improve against that, other than insuring your configuration is as optimal as possible for your needs (again, things like sequencing/ordering of statements).
hi ,
thanks very very much for this nice information,
let me answer you :
you said that NPE G2 has finite capacity , but how to know this full capacity ???
i mean that my policy map is matching the traffic , but the matched traffic is not being enhancemend ??!!!
last about two weeks , the matched traffic of youtube was excellent and no interrupt durting the my rush hour.
i didnt change any thing, but my bw increased from 730 Mbps to 760Mbps ,
im un able to make sure that i need to chnage my platform to faster one.
agian
my cpu is 60 % without QOS
after QOS it increase to 80-85 %
agian ,
about NBAR
i want to tell you that i cant depend on NBAR , as an example , im matching the ips of videos of facebook , i cant depend on NBAR because it is https videos.
but in summary ,
my qos is matching well , but i have no real enhancement for my traffic.
did you face my issue before ???
i mean have you see like my problem ?
like my router platform with cpu over 80 % and 750Mbps , and matched qos without good result ??
note that i upgraded to iso 15 , but seems same issue !!!
regards -
I am loosing configuration when I power off my Cisco 857 router
I bought new Cisco 857 router from the shop. Router must have been used before as I couln't go in with default username/password cisco/cisco.
Well I followed instruciton and reset password to username and password. Now I finally connected to the Cisco CP express over my IE browser.
I found out that somebody was using a router from the shop so this is why I coun't log to it in the first place. Anyway problem is that when I changed configuration and applied settings it remembers it until I power it off. When I power it on again it remembers all settings from that shop.
It reverts everything back: IP address, previous level 15 account and password - everything like after password reset.
I tried it again and it again lost settings. So I found following instruction:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps233/products_tech_note09186a00800a65a5.shtml
I followed it and changed again all settings on the router. My settings are again lost after power off/on. I noticed that when I do first bit it does show
0x2102 not 0x2142 like they think that is password reset mode.
Here is my output from Hyper Terminal:

Please help me as I am stuck and can't go any further....Hi David White,
Alternatively, after password recovery you can modify the configuration to be what you want, and then issue:
write memory
to save the configuration. You can then verify that your changes have been saved to the startup config by issuing:
show startup-config"
The only good thing is that when I switch off a router it erase configuration except my new password which I created after password reset. Everything else is getting vanished (ADSL settings, DHCP, routing ) everything. Even new admin accounts I created.
Well have a question to your above comments. I am new in Cisco so please put as much detail as you can for me to understand. When you say modify configuration do you mean to go to Cisco CP Express graphical interface and then connect router to hyper terminal and execute above commands?
Why router doesn't remember this anyway. There must be some option to change in configuration to make thing permanent when I hit apply changes in Cisco CO Express otherwise it is pointless to heve it.
Phillip
write memory
is
copy running-config startup-config"
Can't this be done via Cisco CP Express or set up router to copy this every time I change this in graphical interface rather going to command line to achnoledge it?
I understand your concern about this router and somebodie's configuration details as you want things to be un-used when you buy them - true. ADSL details belongs to the shop which sold me the router so that is why I don't make a big problem about this. We take most of hardware from this shop and have discount and many good deals with them so I think they have been just testing it and forgot to erease their config. It might be that someone has returned router to the shop and they have repaired it and tested it.
I hope this is a normal behaviour of this router as I have option to replace it in case this is a fault.
Could you please write me step by step guide how can I make changed options stay permanently on router?
thank you
Dragan
