Collective Orders with Phantom assembly

HI experts,
Required clarity on following scenario urgently.
Material                                                Proc Type                             Special Proc
A                                                                 E
B(BOM item for A)                                       E                                             52
C(BOM item for B)                                        E                                              50(phantom)
C1(BOM item for c)                                        E                                             52
When we are creating the production order for A,respective production orders for B and C1 is genrated.
Now when we are confirming the production order for C1,GI of c1 to B is happening and also for C! production order it is giving the DLV status.Up to this the scenario working fine.
But when we are confirming the production order for B,the GI for production order A and DLV status for production order B has to happen,BUt it is not happening.
Can anyone throw some light on this. Expecting reply at the earliest.
Thanks in advance.

LN

Hi
ritesh,
It is not the question of control key.
But the error is coming at the time of goods movement,we can see the description of it in "cogi".
"ERROR IN DEPENDENT GOODS MOVEMENT."
Because For 'c1',After confirming the order for 'C1',it will do the GR for 'C1'and GI of 'C1'to 'B' production order.
Up to this it is working fine. But the same when I am trying for 'B'production order,After confirmation the GR for'B'is not happning And the Issue of B to 'A' production order is not happening.
And in COGI the above error is coming.
I want to know weather this problem occuring because of phantom assembly with collective order.
Hope this will clear the problem understanding.

  • Collective Order for Phantom Assemly

    Dear Team
I my company we have batch determination as well as batch derivation. Also on FG & SFG level different order type. Now we have scenario that A1, A2, A3 material having common bulk component. Where as A1, A2, A3 are vial packing strengh. Here is probelm that if all BOM component of A1,A2, A3 are available then bulk process order will get release & wise versa else error.
Now i wish to adopt the collective order scenario with phantom assembly. Here i will create one phantom material code with BOM component as A1,A2,A3... Will it work for me in collective order scenario with different order type?. IF yes then please guide me how i can configured this in SAP.

    Hi Nivedita,
Question is not clear....A1,A2,A3 are FG products which have common SFG as a input material ?
map like this... bulk material SFG will have raw materials in it's BOM...Now FG material will have SFG material and other packing materials as input materials in the BOM....now make the setting in such a way that during process order release if components are not available system should not release the order...make settings in OPJK in configuration...
    Thanks

  • Problem with Phantom Assembly

    Hi expert,
I have question with BOM and production process. In packaging industry, At start we have 8 components for finish goods. but recently, 2 component 0020 and 0030 (example bottle cap and sticker) will issue from warehouse for assembly process before return to warehouse. then re-issue to use for finish goods.
usually component 0020 and 0030 will convert to another component or change to semi-finish goods.i must create this BOM , Routing , and Open Production Order.and change component in finish goods,
if i not create BOM , Routing , and open Production Order. but create new component as semi-finish goods for item from assembly process to use in finish goods BOM as phantom assembly.
how is my resolution, possible or impossible? , will be any problem in the future. any advise is good.
    regards,
    kittisak.

    Hi,
There are 2 possibilities in this case.
If you do not want to make stock of your HALB then make this as Phantom and include the assembly operations (manufacturing operations) in the header level material so that the activities will be captured at the Time of FERT confirmations.
If you want to make a track of the stock for re issue from Warehouse then no other way.
You should maintain it as HALB with BOM nad Routing, Pl. Order and Production Order route to capture the stocks and issue it to FERT production.
    Hope this clarifies..

  • Collective Orders with GR & GI for sub-ordinate orders

    Hello,
I am lookng for collective Orders where superior order and sub-ordinate ordes can be tagged together and at the sametime, I would like to GR for sub-ordinate Order which trigger Auto GI to superior Order. this feature is not available in collective orders.
why I am looking for GR execution is that GR quantity changes for sub-ordinate order from one order to another order always. it needs to be actual.
any work acound to satisfy this requirement?
    Thanks
    JK

    Hi JK,
I have a doubt that whether this would be a business requirement. Say as per the BoM if there are 3 levels the last level was expected to be produced as 100 UoM but after production run the yield was 98 UoM or 105 UoM then how system will undertsand that it should post the GI of level 3 SFG2 as yield produced from the last Production/ Process order. But at the same time you need to do subsequent adjustment at SFG1 level also.
This is highly dynamic situation thats why when you have multiple level of BoM and at each stage the chances of yield variation is high then its always better to create Production/ Process order of superordinate level of BoM when the lower level are produced, confirmed and available in the stock.

  • Phantom Assembly Planned Order in APO

Sub : Incorrect quantity and Bucket for component in scenario of Phantom Assembly
    Hi Gents,
I am using the Optimizer planning run for a scenario with Phantom assembly.
The master data has been used below
    Material u2013 862700 (Finished goods)
1091895 (Phantom assembly maintained for above FG)
    Location - 8501
    Planning Book - ZAL_SNP_PB_BG
    Data View - ZAL_SNP_DV_BGF
    Optimizer profile - ZAL_OPT_01
I have entered a demand for above FG on 22.02.2012 and running a optimizer by selecting both FG and Phantom assembly. As a result the optimizer has created the planned order for FG from 18th to 22nd Dec. 2012. The advancement of the planned order is due to production capacity constraint.  When i analysed System has created  planned order for phantom assembly in last two buckets of the planning book and heneceforth  the component requirement it is appearing only on last 2 buckets of the planning book. The date for this dependent demand is 28th and 29th Feb.2012 and the quantity is also wrong for the components as per the BOM.
The result I am expecting as system should create the planned order and dependent demand for the component maintain below phantom assembly should be same FG planed order date and quantity of component should also give the right requirement as per the BOM.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Rajesh patil

    HI Ipsita,
Did you try running it form SE38.
SE38 because in SE37 it is not necessary to give all the parameters..
But in SE38 you need to pass all the values required & Check form there.
Also you can check the details in PLAF-Table.

  • Phantom assembly quantity change in production order

    Hello experts,
We are producing 1 type of goods, but for 2 different customers. each of them has their own specification for packaging. as per system it was decided to not create another finished goods partnumber with additional BOM, but instead we created 2 phantom assemblies in 1 BOM. 1 of them is the main (for customer 1), another one is alternative (for customer 2).
Now the idea was that whenever Purchasing is maintaining materials in production orders they were supposed to switch quantity from main phantom assembly to alternative phantom assembly whenever goods were required for customer 2.
We quickly tested the possibility of quantity change on our test server, but not entirely. the thing is, that for some reason you can change phantom assembly required quantity only if it's already has required quantity higher than 0. otherwise the item is greyed out and you can't perform any changes in it.Same happens if you simply reduce required quantity of phantom assembly item to 0. once you do so - the item becomes greyed out as well.
So, the question is - is it some kind of settings in BOM\MMD that prevents user from changing quantities for phantom assemblies (and if it is - where exactly you can change it), or it's something else (like i dunno, maybe user authorization issue or something).
    Any help will be appreciated.
P.S. - i know that you can still simply remove entire item from production order and put it back with quantities and etc., but that way of work has higher risk of making a mistake.

    Dear ,
Couple of points on this issue which may help you understand the problem  : Bom Explosion With Phantom Assemblies will happen based on the following set up .
    1. You need to maintain the special procurement key-50 for the phantom Assembly
in the MRP 2 View of the material master
    2. We can override the Phantom Assembly Setting by defining in SPRO --->
Define Explosion Types so that MRP Creates Procurement Propasals for the
Phantom Assembly itself.ie We can Swith off the Phantom Assembly Settings.
This settting need to be defined in the BOM Item details screen in the Basic
Data Tab Page under MRP Area.
So check in your Bom whether switch off phantom assembly is defined.Make the Explosion Type-Blank
3.Run MRP Single Item - Multi level - Transaction MD02 with Planning Mode 2 : 'Re-explode BOM and Routing'. The Phantom Item will now get exploded correctly in the Planned Order.
4.Check the Validity of the BOM  and planning date
5.Check the MRP4 set up in FG where you have kept the BOM/Routing selection
6.Check wether dependent requirement  material master -MRP4 view -MRP  for Depent Requ should be blank .
Check the above points and come back

  • Phantom Assembly not exploding in production order

    Hi All,
We are using phantom assembly as a BOM component.
When we create a planed order from MD03 or MD02 and try to convert this planed order to production order the components of Phantom assembly are not explode in production order. When I tried with read PP master data option it get explode.

  • Assembly Orders with REM

    Hi,
I came to know about the scenario of using sale order with REM in Assemble to order scenario.
I have already seen the write up available in Sap library.
Please let me know more about the advantages and practicability f the same.

    Hello Mr. Reddy,
Thanks a lot for your guidance.
Please let me know can we use functinalities of Collective order scenario in Assembly orders , that is If the sale order is available for FG and MRP is run
then down level component planned orders will be created automatically.
No order release function is required for the down level components.
And availability cheak can also be carried out for the the FG sales order.

  • Different Order Types within a Collective Order

    Dear PP Gurus,
I have a requirement for having different order types with in a collective order. For example, in a BOM of 3 levels, the order type for each assembly should be different say ZPP1, ZPP2 and ZPP3.
For this, I have maintained separate production scheduling profiles in each of these assemblies with the respective order types. Also, I have maintained MRP groups separately for each of these materials. Further, in Plant Parameters, no default order type is assigned.
However, when I create the order, the system creates all orders with order type ZPP1 which is for the header material.
As per SAP help, this is possible but I am not able to create collective order with different order types.
Please suggest any SAP Note or configuration changes which I have missed out.
    Thanks!
    With Regards,
    Nitin

    Dear Sabine,
    Thanks for your reply.
However, as per SAP help, this is possible. Please refer to the link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/ee/b6532cae8011d19e97080009b0db33/content.htm
In this link, under Pre-reuisites section, in Point 2 it is mentioned
"This indicator is transferred into the order header (master data) of the orders. If there are differing order types within the collective order, the setting of the indicator of the order type of the leading order takes precedence. This indicator is transferred to all lower-level orders and overrides their original indicators."
The above line implies that different order types are possible with in a collective order.
    Please suggest some way out.
    Thanks!
    With Regards,

  • Collective order - manuell booking

    Hello all!
Is there a way to use collective orders without automatic booking, but with manual booking.
We like the idea of the linked production orders and the way it is handled. Our problem is,
that we need the semi-finished goods on stock. So we have to book them with MIGO.
Is there any other way to link the production orders and do physical bookings (like in every
    standard production order)?
    Thankful for all help,
    Barbara

    Hi,
In a collective order, goods movements (GI & GR) are usually not required for assemblies that are directly produced.
When u do the confirmation for Lower level order, Produed assemblies will be issued to Higher level order directly, so manual goods issue not possible for assemblies to Higher level order.
U can confirm this, with Higher level order cost analysis after the confirmation of lower level order.
So need not issue the produced assembly to higher level order using the MB1A.
Only thing u have to activate Collective order with goods movements object  box for Order type at OPJH .
For Lower level order (Assembly order ) good issue for procured components of assembly can be done using MB1A with MVt type 261.
    Dependencies :
For collective orders without automatic goods movements you must take organizational measures to ensure that the WIP calculation and the settlement of orders are each carried out twice. You cannot carry out a variance calculation for collective orders without automatic goods movements. You cannot carry out a standard cost calculation for a collective order without automatic goods movements.
You can find detailed information on collective orders in the document Cost object accounting -> Order-related Product Controlling.
    Thanks,
    Mohit

  • Restricting Prod Orders for Sub assemblies.

    H Gurus,
My client has a requirement of not to have any production orders for sub assemblies as there are lot of production orders to be taken care for production.
They need only one production order so that they will track w. r. t this production order .
Please help me which are the possible ways to meet this requirement.
    Thanks in advance.
    Naveen.

    Hello,
if you set this indicator in MRP view, then planning itself will not happen for components. but doing this, how production of sub assembly will be taken care.
I guess question was about tracking of all production orders of assembly and sub assembly. Production orders needs to be there for both to meet the requirement in production.
Here, Collective Orders can be used.
You need to set "special procurement key" 52 for all the sub assemblies. now when planning will be done. it will be done at header as well as sub assembly level.
after conversion to production order, you can see header material order as collective order and sub assembly orders below it.
you can now track w.r.t Header material only, no need to track with sub assembly.
Please refer to SAP help http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/a5/63198843a211d189410000e829fbbd/frameset.htm

    hope this resolve this query

  • Interchageability for phantom assemblies

    Dear Experts,
We have finished product A and have generated PPDS PDS for it.
For PDS of A, one of the several components is Phantom 1, which is a phantom assembly and has components X and Y.
We want to use interchageability of BOM for Phantom1 with Phantom2. Phantom 2 has components X1 and Y1.
That means for producing A, either X and Y together can be used or X1 and Y1 together should be picked(if stock is not available for X and Y while for X1 and Y1 stock is available)
Is there any way we can maintain interchageability / substitution for XY with X1Y1 as a group? Or it is posible to maintain Interchangeability for assemblies Phantom1 and Phantom2 so that BOM will be entirely interchangeable.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vaibhav

    Mayuresh,
Generally when a production order is created and if the order has Phantom assemblies, it is suppose to explode the BOM of the phantom assembly and create reservation for its components. Is this not happening?
Can you please mention how you have defined that material as "Phantom assembly". Hope you have not used any special procurement key at the BOM Item level details to switch off bom explosion.

  • Collective order problem

    Hi gurus:
I having a problem  when I use collective order, discrible as below:
When I do the confirmation for the last operation of the subordinate order, it does not trigger  the auto-GR and auto-GI to the parent order. What can be the possible reason?
          It worked well in past...
Further, the "Collective order with/without automatic goods movement" indicator is NOT set for the order type we using.
    BR
    Kevin

    Dear Vivek:
Thanks for your kindly reply.  Is the tick box you metioned "Coll.order with...." ?
If so, after I flagged it, new problem occur.
The first problem is the settlement receiver of the child order is incorrect . Now , the receiver is the Semi-FG which should be the parent order.  But it was right before the change I made.
Another problem is the auto-GR always hold by the system which I can find it in CO1P.  It worked well before the change
    Any clue?   Thanks.

  • Outbound Deliveries from Collective STO with SLS

    Hi all,
Has anyone ever successfully created an outbound delivery from a collective STO with SLS sub items?
All documentation states this is possible and that during delivery creation the SLS items are copied from the collective order to the delivery.
We have all config setup correctly to create collective orders with SLS, as when we run WF10 we get the correct results in the collective document.
When we run VL10G from the collective document it creates only with the main item, no sub items are copied over.
We today found and applied a note which was meant to resolve this exact problem, but it's made no difference at all.  We've double checked the note and all appears to have been applied correctly.   However still got the same issue.
From what I can see the item categories NLSH is used for the main item and NLSU is for the sub items, as standard for deliveries fro collectives with subitems.
By debugging  delivery create we found it excluded the subitems due to the fact they were set to delivery completed. This however is how they seem to be created as standard.
We did manage to "work around" the problem to prove it was possible to have SLS items in a delivery, where the sub items referenced the higher level item in the delivery and that additionals created for it also.
We did this by manually unsetting the delivery completed indicator of the SLS subitems in the collective STO by directly editing the record (SE16N) as PO change transactions would not allow subitems to not be set for del complete.
This created exactly how we expected, with all associated additionals data in WTADAB.
Problem is in standard code WF10 sets the sub items as delivery complete, so it would appears that either I've got some config incorrect somewhere (possibly in shipping) or this functionality just conflicts with each other and that nobody has reported it before.
Any help would be great as we've spent a lot of time on this now and getting nowhere fast.
    Many thanks of the support.

  • WF10 Collective Order Split

    Hi all,
I am having a scenario where I need your help. I am creating Collective Orders from WF10. I am supposed to have a split of Collective Orders after 900 articles which is not working.Illustration is below :
    STO 1 : 500 articles
    STO 2 : 500 articles
Expected outcome : 2 Collective orders : 1 having 900 articles and other having 100 articles.
Actual outcome : 1 Collective order with 1000 articles (split didn't work)
I want your help to find out why the split is not working or as to where I can check. I am new in this, so kindly suggest me .
    Thanks.

    Hi yal
In general for GI to header material it will look for item material stock. You cannot do prod of header material with out completing the prod of item material of BOM. So you have to cofirm HALB prod order first , do GR for prod . then only FERT material can be prod.
For Direc prod Special procurement key 52. This is possible.
You can do all at a time
