Denying refund of unauthorized charge Skype credit

My account of (deleted) which I’m not using much, since I have a personal Skype account has a credit of 24.04 Euro, which as I checked was automatically charged without my authorization by SKYPE in 2012 ( order ID #[removed for privacy]) - I contacted Skype Chat support and first asked if I can add my personal Skype account to Skype Manager where my business account is and then relocate credit or just simply get a refund.
I was said that it’s impossible.
I really cannot comprehend why if the credit was charged automatically without my consent , I cannot get a refund or to relocate to my personal account.
It's like stealing money from your users...
I want to know where can I complaint and report it.
Tried a chat, but the operator was limited to an idiot sheet he copied/pasted from, unable to call a real person or get the customer service email.
Jerzy

Does Skype give any explanation or clarification what that certain charge is?

  • How do I receive a refund for unauthorized charges?

First, I would like to hear ONLY from people who have successfully gotten Verizon to refund unauthorized charges.  (If your goal is to explain why cramming those fees into customer bills is OK, please answer someone else's post.)
Has anyone successfully gotten Verizon to take off unauthorized charges?  I am having no luck. The first Customer Service rep said they'd only refund one month. The 2nd said they'd refund 3 months but "took the offer off the table" when we demanded to talk with a supervisor. Then she hung up. When we called back the next person REFUSED to put on a manager even when we asked repeatedly. Then he said we'd have to fill out an online request to get a refund. We did and it immediately announced that we were ineligible.
    We're clearly getting the run-around.
Our next step is to file a complaint with the public utility commission in PA , but we'd really like for Verizon to just fix the problem by refunding the unauthorized charges.
    Any ideas?

Verizon might actually believe that they're providing a service, but clearly they are facilitating--if not participating--in consumer fraud.
That's a tough one to prove.  You expect too much from any company with millions of people they in the end have to watch over.  You could have cought this yourself.  I read my bills throughly and I also have a block as soon as I start service with ANY carrier.
I am aware that you don't agree with me on this, but a lot of scammed consumers do.  Whether Verizon agrees or not, customers who've been ripped off this way almost ALWAYS blame Verizon.
A lot of consumers allowed themselves to get scammed, and you expect someone to hold your hand.  I bet someone did infact authorize it, but are lying about it.  Sometimes spending the time to read makes the difference in the world.
Verizon is facing a PR nightmare on this. The sooner they quit blaming their customers and start making an effort to stop the fraud, the more customers they're likely to keep.
This has been going on since 1990's with ALL carriers... There's very little PR nightmare as the courts so far has agreed with the carriers, and often times the person complaining about the charges are often the ones trying to commit fraud, or didn't bother reading the terms on what they signed up for.
You can say what you will about what I have posted, and I could careless if you agree with me or not.  We live in a day and age where we move so quickly and we need to slow down and start to actually read, and think of the choices we make.  Instead of putting powers in others hands and expecting them to get it right 100% of the time we need to start doing it ourselves and spend the extra time.

  • Skype Credit Bought on my Account - Need Refund

£80 of Skype credit was bought on my account.
I was locked out of my account as a result.
How can I claim a refund?

Hi, goateez, and welcome to the Community,
Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service   and here is a link to the FAQ which explains how to start an instant message chat session with a customer service agent:  https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10656/what-is-live-chat-support
This FAQ article provides information Skype will need:
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10384/why-has-my-credit-debit-card-been-charged-by-skype-when-i-h...
If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service, try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also impede reaching an agent.
Skype is aware of problems with the website when contacting their customer service unit.  Skype is working on resolving the issue; more people seem to be getting through and more quickly than in previous weeks since the issue appeared in June 2014.
The goal is to reach a customer service agent in order to start an instant message chat session with an agent, so several attempts and taking different paths through the various drop-down menu choices presented seems to be working.
    Regards,
    Elaine

  • Skype credit being charged inspite of being conver...

    Hi
    I had two subscriptions
    1. Unlimited World
    2. India 400
The first time I subscribed for India 400, it worked perfectly fine. My phone calls to India were covered in the subscription.
However, after exhausting the 400 minutes a few days ago, I renewed it again today and called up some numbers in India. To my surprise, my skype credit got exhausted! I even got the receipt by email from skype and paypal that the payments have been done successfully.
How do I claim the refund for the calls made to India which were supposed to be covered under subscription but instead charged to my skype credit? My account details show "0 minutes left" under "Your Subscriptions" -> India" at this point of time. I must add that it has already been more than 30 minutes.
    Upset!

I checked your account and you don't have any subscription minutes left for this month.
For example if you purchase India 400 five times a month it will still only give you 400 minutes per month.
Your minutes will be reset on the 7th of August and since you paid twice this month your next payment will be in September
I think Norman has explained it quite nicely in a very simple way:

  • Unauthorized XBOX LIVE credit card charge

Recently, MS charged my credit card for a years' worth of LIVE. Problem is, I deleted the credit card info from the XBOX in January last year, when this once again happened. There was no CC on the account. even after MS updated the XBOX o/s. Just checked,
    and, no account infot here.
Contacted online MS "help", and they were not helpful, they sent the confirm email to a defunct account, but would not send to the sign in email of my sons account. Just silly. MS can check and verify all kinds of info to verify that the customer
is who they say they are, CC#, IP address, etc., but choose not to, as its easier to deny and make life difficult for the customer. Thing is, when MS treats customers like mushrooms, we remember. New tablet? it will be a Droid or Ipad. New phone, it WON'T
be a MS phone (junk, by the way). MS just keeps screwing the suctomer at every opportunity. And we remember.
So, my CC# is being cancelled, so you can't screw me again MS. Learn the meaning iof unauthorized charge......some call it fraud, MS. Listen to your customers, stop dictating to them! I'm surprised there hasn't been a class-action suit yet against MS over
    this kind of event.

You need to deal direct with the Xbox team on this - it's nothing to do with Windows WGA.

  • Was charged $25 skype credit five times within a f...

I received an email alert from my bank informing me that I had made 3 online payments of $25 to Skype. Confused, I went to my banks website to confirm. I then logged on to my skype account and watched my skype credit charging up and discharging while not knowing what to do. I was not making any phone calls, nor was I using skype in any way other than to try to figure out what was happening. I noticed that I was charged 2 more $25 increments while I was logged on to skype. At that point, I picked up the phone and called my bank and had my card canceled.
I'm not sure what happened, but I suspect someone gained access to my account. While this was happening, I received two 'group' text messages (SMS) to my Skype account asking if I was still selling a boat and in another one, a bike. The writer was trying to get me to reply to their email address. I did not fall for it. I turned over the email address to an FBI agent friend of mine so they can run trace on it. Just got word that everything seems to trace to Belgium.
Now that I am out $150, but the scammers are unable to continue charging my card... I was dismayed that I could not locate a phone number to Skype's customer service line so I could let them know I was having this issue. I find it hard to believe that there is no customer service line what-so-ever. Did I make a mistake in working with Skype? I didn't have problems in the past, and it appears to be a great service still... but no customer service line?
So tell me mysterious people behind skype... How do I get my $150 back?

Hi, PerSverre, and welcome to the Community

  • HT4009 There's an unauthorized charge in my credit card from iTunes of $20.0

There's an unauthorized charge on my credit card bill 4/30/13 - $2.99 and $20.00 from Itunes.. Please credit back $22.99 on my credit card

Please be aware that you are not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. The only people who will reply to your posts are your fellow users.
First, make sure that you did not inadvertently make an in-app purchase. Many apps, particularly games, are free for the base game but charge for additional features such as levels, "coins" and other such add-ons. Check your Purchase History to see if that reminds you as to what you might have purchased:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
If you find that these were in-app purchases, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your device. For more information, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
They're usually pretty lenient in the case of inadvertent purchases, but there are no guarantees.
If the charges are not in-app purchases, contact the iTunes Store and let them know. If the charges don't appear in your Purchase History, they were probably fake charges made directly to your credit card, and your card issuer will need to handle those.
    Regards.

  • Charged twice for skype credit

Today i was charged twice when i bought skype credit. I went to customer support page but i am not able to chose my country (bosnia and herzegovina) so i chose austria instead.
Niw i am waiting for response.

Got charged twice on 11/30, please refund.
Also, why is that we cannot contact skye directly, why should it take me 2 hrs to find out that there is no direct link to customer service. This is just unprofessional.

  • Unauthorized charge on my credit card via PayPal

Please contact my as soon as possible. There is a sixty dollar charge from Skype on my PayPal and I did not purchase any Skype credit. My Skype account has $0.00 credit. I have a monthly subscription of $2.99 and that's it. How do I get a refund for this unkown 60 dollar charge on the 18th of August. I also want to end my subscription because of this.

The same happened to me as well as I was charged more than 10 times for a "Friendcaller" which I have not procured.
I have deleted the card (as well as canelled it in the bank) and reported it as a problem.
It should iTunes (Appels) responsibility to stop fraud in their system as well as take back unjustified payments on clients accounts.

  • Charged twice for skype credit reload

Hi, I reloaded my Skype credit with $35 and it didn't seem like it was going through the first few times I tried so I did it until I knew it had gone through. Turns out it loaded twice instead of once. I don't need that much credit especially since the expiry date to use it by wasn't extended along with the purchase so there's no way I'll be able to use it all by the time it'll expire. Who can I contact about either refunding one of the transaction or to extend the expiry date by another year or so??
    Looking forward to your response.
    Thanks

  • How to get a Skype credit refund: my Mac is no lon...

Skype normally does not give refunds unless credit was purchased in the last 15 days. However, I can no longer use Skype credit because of Skype policy: Skype will not allow my Mac to connect, it has disabled by version of Skype.
I cannot upgrade (in spite of Skype's idiotic messages telling me to do so), because Skype no longer has software that works on My PowerPC Mac running Mac OS 10.4.
Skype's page on Mac OS 10.4 says to contact "customer service",
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA34492/
but only provides a link to a page with the normal policy on refunds.
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA297/
It's unfair to prevent me from using Skype, then prevent me from getting a refund on a credit Skype will not allow me to use.
How can I get a refund?

    NormanM wrote:
    please contact Skype customer service
Have you ever read "Catch 22"? Or "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland"? Or anything by Kafka?
Because telling anyone to contact Skype Customer Service is telling them to take a trip through the surreal, which will achieve nothing. It is essentially not possible to "contact Skype customer service". The closest I've gotten is an online chat with someone who would not read what I wrote (asking questions I'd already answered) and who ultimately said Skype policy prevented him from granting a refund.
So, Skype gets to take my money, but refuses to allow me to use its service, by disabling my software, and then refuses to refund my money.
I don't care what the terms of service say. Almost anyone would think that highly unethical, and many would consider it stealing.
