Doubt in Solution Manager Workflow

Hi all
I have created one workflow for support disk. I used BUS2000116 business object. Before that i created Z business object for BUS2000116. Bcos i need to include events and methods (Customization). So i created  ZB2000116. After that i selected delegate.
My doubt is when i creating workflow (in Task) in SWDD, which business object i can use  <b>ZB2000116 or BUS2000116.</b>.
Can i use BUS2000116 ?

Hi,
I always use the standard object. So if SAP changes any method or attribute I will have the latest version, and I don't have to do these changes myself.
Because you delegated the subtype you can use the standard object.

Martin

  • Solution Manager Workflow problem

    Hi,
I am triggerring a workflow for support message creation in transaction crmd_bus2000116 in solution manager. It been assigned to a particular agents by using a customized workflow . I am facing two problems...
    1. The person to whom I am assigning the workitem, if he simply displays it , then workitem is getting deleted. But I need to be there for particular period of time and then if he is not changed it then only it should get deleted from his SAP Inbox.
    2. If he changes means I should trigger an another event , which will call the same workflow in the next event, In this case how can I check the event getting called .....currently I am using an status flag to do so....
    Cheers,
    Sabari.

    Sabari,
    1. You should use an asynchronous task with the Changed event as the terminating event to create the WI. The WI will then stay in the inbox until the changed event is triggered. You will have to use modeled deadlines in order to remove the WI or end the workflow after a specified time. You can look in the online documentation for more information on terminating events and modeled deadlines.
    2) There is no need to check for the changed event. You can have the next step follow after the first step ends with the terminating event.
    Cheers,
    Ramki.

  • Solution Manager Workflow

I would like to know if there is any standard workflow template available in Solution manager for Change request management. My requirement is to trigger a workflow when the status of the change request is made to Assigned. I have to send a workitem to a the approver and he changes the status to the next status and then the workflow should send a workitem to next approver and so on. We have two options to do this
    1. One is using the status management(BSVW).
    2. Using Action profiles(similar to one in CRM).
I would like to know which one is the best option to use for custom workflow development.  Please advice.

    Hi,
We have two options to do this
    1. One is using the status management(BSVW).
    2. Using Action profiles(similar to one in CRM).
Use any of these options to trigger the event.
One the event triggering in SWEL, then mapped your workflow to it.
Can you tell which BO you are using?

  • Solution Manager & Workflow driven Transport Mangement

    Dear SDN Members,
I would like to know if it is possible to use a workflow drivene TMS within the Solution Manager 3.2 using serveral approval steps. For instance an approval between DEV and QAS and an approval between QAS and PRD.
We would like to implement the workflow for our 4 system R/3 landscape, 3 system BW and XI landscape.
    Regards,
    Niek Weustink

    Hi Mrutyunjay,
As far as I know, you can only attach one CTS project per Solution Manager Project.
The idea is that for each different project you have for your satellite systems you´ll have to have one Solution Manager project.
This way you can use the features on Solution Manager side to control all changes ( for instance, using Change Request Management ).
Part of the CTS functionalities that we have on standard SAP installations are being migrated to Solution Manager controls.
So, you can have as many CTS projects you need on your ECC as long as you have their correspondent Solution Manager projects.
Based on ITIL standards, Solution Manager is the central point to control all changes you make in your systems.

  • How to allocate the workflow to the action defnitions in solution manager

    Hi,
we are having solution manager with the CHARM configured, and currently we are looking for the trigger of mail and workitem for change of action. the work flow is designed for that, but how to assign the workflow to the condition and processing type .
please suggest, points are definetly awarded.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi,
Well, why dont you check the event that gets triggered during the Status change of the user?
This can be done by switching on the EVENT TRACE using SWELS txn and simulate the BUSINESS PROCESS and then check the event trace using SWEL.
After getting the required Business Object and event, Please attach your WF to that EVENT in the BASIC DATA-START EVENTS.

  • BPM, Solution Manager, XI and Workflow

    Hello all,
I read that in XI/P, BPM uses the Workflow engine.
I also heard about the BPM in Solution Manager.
What is the difference between BPM in Solution Manager and BPM in Workflow? Do both systems use the old Workflow engine?

  • Can we create a workflow in Solution Manager ?

    Hi Friends,
Actually I have a requirement to create a workflow in solution manager.
The requirement is to create a wf for issue log. As soon as a new <b>issue (support message)</b> is created then the wf should get triggered and send out a mail to the resp. person. It just a sending a mail between issue created and responsible person. Can anyone please let me know if we create a wf in Solman or not ? <b>If so please provide me some related buss. obj for that.</b> thanks
    Grateful to your help.

If you want to Place certain actions after status change of a transaction, it's better to do this with an action profile and a condition for that action:
    In Solman check SPRO path:
    CRM>Transactions>Basic settings-->Define transaction types
In this activity double click the transaction type to find out what the action profile is:
    Now go to:
CRM>Basic functions>Actions>Actions in transactions>Change actions and conditions-->Define action profiles and actions
Here you can add an action definition on the action profile, this can be methods, workflow or in your case a smartform mail.
If the action profile is a SAP standard (doesn't begin with Z) it is advisable to copy the standard. Also, this is more of a CRM/Solman consultant issue, so you may have to involve such a consultant
    Now go to
    CRM>Basic functions>Actions>Actions in transactions>Change actions and conditions-->Define Conditions
Here you can add conditions which will cause the action to be executed.

    Sorry Raguraman,
I am unable to check those tcodes as I havenot got the authorizations for those. after several mails I got some basic wf developer tcode access. I am not sure whether I have to create a new workflow for this or I can go with some built-in technology to send mail when a new message (tcode: stwb_work) is created.
can raguraman or anyone please help me on doing this ?
if the solman has provided the standard for sending mails when a new message is created/changed to the responsible person.

  • Workflow In solution manager

    Dear Friends,
We have configured a Workflow for Escalation mails in Solution manager.
The thing is we are Using request start . In that step we are using an
Expression for date and time , where date and time are container elemnts.
                      The values are coming properly.
Now the mail should be triggered when the deadline in the date and
                     Time is Reached.
The same thing is configured in R/3 server. there it seems to be workng fine.
All the required customization have been done in Solman server .
Still the step is not working...    It is showing IN process State.
Any sort of help wld b appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shashi

You say customizing has been done.
So it is superfluous to ask if the deadline background job is running.
    At what interval though?
Also change the workflow with a hard value.
If this works, then you know something is wrong with the containerelement.
also check the short dump log, maybe the process dumps due to some explicable reason.
    Kind regards, Rob Dielemans

  • Doubt on viewing service message reply from solution manager???

    Hi,
How to view the reply(for Service Message) from solution manager in our satillite system? or how to view the reply for our service message? Please share your ideas..

    Hello Sriram,
Unfortunately it is not possible to display the replies of the support
desk in any satellite system. There are to ways to inform the creator
    the message:
A new action can be defined, so that a mail is sent to the creator, when
e.g. the status of the message changes. You can read in attached note
no. 691303 how to set up an action triggered by status change.
The second possibility is to set up a user in the Solution Manager
system with display authorization, then creator of the message must log
on to the Solution Manager system and can then have his messages
    displayed.
At the moment there are no other possibilities for the issue described
    by you.
    Hope this helps,
    Dolores

  • CHARM + WILY Interoscope + qRFC in Solution Manager 4.0

    Hi Folks,
Please clear the below mentioned doubts:
    1. Can CTS + workflow  without CHARM config in solution manager can solve any purpose, if yes then let me know how?
    2. How to configure WILY Interocope?
    3. How to configure qRFC in solution manager to monitors the qRFC of ECC, XI, SCM system and what are limitation of this.
    4. If I have to move the transport request where I am having 4-5 landcape using domain link, so what are the steps.
Document with appropiate reply would be rewarded.
    Email: [email protected]
    Thanks!!!!!!!

I have a question regarding the organization of Solutions in Solution Manager.
First, I have 3 solution manager boxes
    1 Sandbox
    2 Dev
    3 Prod
In sandbox, I have a sandbox 'solution' that contains all sandboxes
In dev, I have no 'solution'
In production, I have all dev through production boxes lumped into one 'solution'.
I was thinking that maybe I should break up the solution in Production to have only prod boxes, and then build one in dev that contains dev and qa boxes.
My question is that when I configure CHARM to manager transports, will that work to separate DEV/QA from Prod OR will I need all the dev, qa, prod boxes in one 'solution' since that is how transports flow??

  • Solution manager - WHY an own system ?

    hi,
we are uprgrading from sap R/3 4.6c to mySAP ERP2005 the next weeks.
SAP told us that from April 2nd it is a MUST to have a solution manager for runnint mySAP ERP2005. is this true ?
why we have to use the sol. manager ? what is it good for ?? is it really a own system or can we install it together with mysap erp on the same system ?
We are a little bit 'pissed off' about this situation, because no one told us before.

Yeah - If you tell people just to ask "technical" question and not to pinpoint the necessity and valuability of a product, that is "hyping" - just as M$ is doing with Vista and the "revolutionary Office 2007".

7 Mandays? will you pay me for this? Will YOU pay users disruptions when installing agents/plugins/patches on the connected systems? Will YOU pay the time you need to keep those patches/agents/plugins in the external systems up-to-date? We had BIG problems with ST-PI* and ST-A/PI* during our Unicode conversion so don't tell me, there is no disruption.

    > That's no more with SOLMAN.
We started with release 2.2d in 1995 and upgraded since over the 3.0 releases to now 4.7 - and we did that without SolMan because it did simply not exists - and it worked - sucessfully, otherwise I wouldn't post here. Believe it or not, we used ASAP (the product before SolMan) - and we have those processes documented in there (still).
    > Have you ever documented your Business Process? I bet
    > you would not have, even if you had you will have in
    > junk folders as files.
YES - we have - and we also teach other companies to do on that. And there are MORE systems involved than just SAP systems; environments are NEVER homogeneous (as you and evreyone @ SAP might assume).
    > Have you ever monitored your business process, to see
    > if your people are working Smart. I bet you would not
    > have monitored, because you didn't have SOLMAN. Its
    > not just Clearing Invoices, making FI Entries,
    > procuring materials. It is doing all these
    > efficiently.
Yes, that's what you got told, BPs in a manufacturing company are MUCH more than that - and they ARE documented - indeed - but not in SolMan, there are other products for that purpose too and I doubt that we will pay a lot of $$$ again to put them into SolMan. We have documented about 250 of them - do you know any customer who have that much in their Solution Manager? If yes, then I would love to talk to that customer. It's not because SolMan may not be good for that - it's because SolMan is too SAP centric (or can you tell me how to "monitor" an interface to a non-SAP host system)?
    >
    > Have you ever seen what is going wrong technically in
    > your Existing ERP system, I bet you would not have
    > because you don't have System Monitoring in place.
    So:
    - if we have a working monitoring infrastructure (NOT based on SolMan and NOT reduced to SAP systems (there's network, backup, filesystems, VPN, encryption etc. etc. etc.)
    - if we have a working workflow for change management (not based on SolMan and not only reduced to SAP products, there is more than that)
    - if we have a ticket system (for SAP and all the other areas around including PC helpdesk, printers, blackberry and other stuff)
    - if we are maintaining and tuning our systems from day 1 (01/01/1995 starting with 2.2d) ourselves, EWAs often led to unstartable inperformant systems or make them not come up, "burned kid avoids fire", thus the reason, why we don't use them at all.
then WHAT is the additional value of investing 7 mandays in a separate product?
I'm not saying, that it's a bad product, I'm blaming the product management for FORCING it to customers, denying the competence of a customer without a SolMan to find the right patches, assuming that people are unable to drive their business without it. They did the last 10 years and we MAY need something additional if SOA/ESA/Web2.0/whatever-name comes into production one day, but that is far ahead (if you ask me) and a different topic.
Keep in mind that not everyone uses just ERP 200x, EPy and M$ operating systems.

  • Questions on "FAQ - SAP Solution Manager for VARs"

    Hi,
I just got through the FAQ - SAP Solution Manager for VARs, but have some further questions:
For me it is not quite clear which connections are necessary for which VAR scenrio.. currently we have setup the service desk in our solman. Customer's aren't linked to the solman yet - we have saprouter-saprouter connections. Connecting them via SAP support backbone is an interesting option, especially for incident management. To get this working we should follow note 1124718 right?
But what about the other scenarios like maintenance optimizer and ewa monitoring? I guess for that we definitly need to build up RFC connections to each relevant customer system (~300+x)?! I think it will be hard to handle so many connections - just consider if a customer is cancalling the maintenance contract, everything needs to be removed again... best would be to have a central communication point...
For MOPZ we need up-to-date system information. So everyone is talking about SLD. Do you also recommend this option? There we need again a connection (direct to SolMan SLD or via external SLD on customer side).
According to the FAQ there is a workaround for ewa monitoring for customers with security doubts.. is this also working for non-ABAP components? We need SMD and WI for generating ewas for JAVA systems...
With regards to Enterprise Support contract: ewa only need to be monitored for productive systems? Can a customer be charged if they want to have ewas monitored for other sytems too? How long do we need to keep the ewas (1 month, 3 months, half year) before they are deleted? Are there any specific requirements?
All the work to get these scenarios working.. is this covered within the Enterprise Support contract? Can the customer be charged for work thats done by the VAR in their system (e.g. RFC connections, SDCCN, SLD,...)?
Sorry for this long text.. hope you have some helpful ideas!
    Regards,
    Richard

    Hello Richard,
    (1) regarding network connections see document [Draft:Technical Support Network Connections for VAR Scenario|http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=00200797470000089947&_OBJECT=011000358700000880802009E] as overview and with a lot of detailed information.
    (2) yes, you have to setup once all your customer connections at the beginning but then only add/remove with customer contract changes
    (3) the workaround by sending by email can handled a anexception. EWA has to be done for productive systems like nowadays done by SAP. Additional EWA services could meas additional business case for a VAR - that's contract between VAR and customer.
    (4) whatever you think may be a business to sell - do it ! (and get a monetary bonus from your boss
    Kind regards

  • Solution Manager EWA - cannot create session in satellite system

    "Hi,
I want to configure EWA self service using Solman 4.0. I succesfully did the following :
    a. Maintained SMSY and create the required trusted RFC connections from SM to satellite system. All connection and authorization passed in SM59. I used SAP_ALL/SDCCN_ALL role and assigned objects S_RFC*.
    b. Assigned the system to a logical system.
    c. Created the a new solution and activate "Solutions Monitoring > Earlywatch Alert"
    d. Activated and maintained required RFC in SDCCN in satallite system.
My problem is that the create EWA alert request (Red Flag with a specific session number ) coulnd be pass to the satelitte system even though all the trusted RFC and authorization is set. When i execute the SESSION_REFRESH in the satellite system, the session is not created.
Did I miss out any steps. Can any one share any help ?
FYI, there is no connection to SAPOSS yet, so i did not manage to run RTCCTOOL completed, but i doubt this is required for EWA self service."
I  have the same problem as Solution Manager EWA - cannot create session in satellite system
tried all of solutions,  but it does not help... Created the CM (high) for SAP, but get 1 response for 1 week from them:(

    Dear Sapbcer,
Have you tried the following option :
Execute SMSY and from the Server entry Execute the "Read System Data Remote" option in change mode.
Save the data captured and then try using Refresh Session Task from SDCCN of the satellite system. Do select the RFC for Solution Manager while performing this task.
    Hope this helps.

  • Support Desk Message Creation in SOLUTION MANAGER  through  External Emails

    Hello Experts,
I am a ABAP Developer , as mentioned in subject, my part is to Create support desk message in solution manager, through external Emails like outlook Express . To do this task i  am in need of more information about some  componenets which are used in solution manager support desk Message.
          My Doubts are,
    1) What is the use of Ibasecomponent in Message Creation?
    2) What if the ibasecomponent is mentioned as a defaut value ' 24 ' ( i.e is the ibasecomponent for solution manager - support desk ) ?
    3) To track the system from which the message is created , is ibase required or the SAP component will give those information?
If anyone has already worked with this subject, please give me some suggestions ASAP.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Mohana

    Hello Mohana,
Let see if I can explain this well:
    1) What is the use of Ibasecomponent in Message Creation?
When you define a Solution in the SOLMAN, you need to update your Ibase
    Edit->Initial Data transfer for Ibase
This create a tree structure in the ibase IB52, as you can see in the attachment.
You get a componet number for SID-Client
You can configure the SOLMAN in a way that when a message arrives from
    <System ID> <Installation Number> <Client> <User Name>
this is what solman knows from a message comming from a satellite, them you
know directly from which component/ibase the message has been received.
This is important data, the component/ibase, for reporting issue, for assigning this component to a sold-to-party (being in IB52, left tree, select a system and go to Goto->Partner  you can assign a Sold-to party BP there for example)
    2) What if the ibasecomponent is mentioned as a defaut value ' 24 '
By default the SOLMAN system has a Intalled base 01 already created for being used and maintained "automatically":
being in dswp, solution : Edit->Initial Data transfer for Ibase
If not you msut maintain the ibase manually from IB52, this is also possible.
The Ibase 01 is a prconfigured iBase for being used for the SOLMAN application.
Tink that the SOLMAN system is built up a CRM system, so the IBase is CRM matter. SOLMAN is only using some CRM applications to build the Service Desk scenario for example.
I3) To track the system from which the message is created , is ibase required or the SAP component will give those information?
    Ibase is required
    Hope this helps,
    Dolores
