DPS catalogues: in-app purchase of physical goods via native widget vs webview or safari

Has anyone found an alternative to allow for in-app purchasing of physical goods from a DPS catalogue via a native e-commerce module or widget vs webview or safari?

They used InDesign. All of the in-ap purchase is done using their existing website. They just put hyperlinks into the DPS publication with the appropriate information in the URL to load the right page on their website when tapped.

    Is this something you would love to do in your app ?
    I think, Apple has everything necessary to make it a one click experience for users: calculate price including shipping and taxes,
    collect payment, send prepaid UPS label to app developer (or specified vendor).
    I wonder if this idea makes sense ?

    Hello!
    I created in-app purchases for the magazine CHIP UA, but the purchases won't go.
    In the DPS analytics there are many "purchases starts", but no finished purchase.
    What i've done:
    - Google Checkout Account
    - Put the License Key in the Admin Tool in DPS
    - Created In-App Purchases with unique names. When publishing through DPS, there are the same, as in the Google Play panel.
    Maybe i forgot some activity, that is virtal for publishing In-Apps?
    BTW, the free versions are published without problems.

    We are facing the same problem and have been in contact with the Adobe DPS Gold Support. They got all our login information for the DPS accounts and Google Play and told us that everything is configured correctly. I have to say that we aren't 100% about the correct tax settings in the merchant account, otherwise everything is verified and configured. But still, the in app purchases for the retail folios aren't showing up in the application. Once we are logged in, the entitlement works. It's only for the single issue purchase, those folio aren't shown to a user who isn't logged in. The application isn't live yet but in beta testing stage.

    To stop it happening again you can turn off in-app purchases on your iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases, and also in Restrictions change Require Password to 'Immediately' - the default is 15 minutes during which it doesn't need to be re-entered.

    The app may have been free to download, but quite a few then allow in-app purchases to be made within them e.g to unlock features and/or levels.     I am using the itunes store in South Africa. I was charged for an in app purchase incorrectly and the "Report a Problem" function on my email invoice does not work as per the "In app purchase Support" page provided by Itunes.

    Hi,
    In March of 2014 we got an email about submitting a refund request for the in-app purchases my 11 year old made in 2012 for coins and such on several free apps.
    The email contained a link to submit the refund which we used. The date for submitting the refund request is 04/15/2015.
    I only submitted a partial list since there is no way to copy and past the order numbers from the purchase history.
    In August I attempted to use the link again to submit the remaining order numbers and the link does not function any more.
    I have submitted multiple emails and the responses have been cordial but unhelpful.
    After finally submitting the remainder of the order numbers I was told that I had already received a refund and would need to deny charges with the credit card company!
    Has anyone else had this experience and found a more straight forward solution?

    If you don't want it to happen again then, if you haven't already done so, turn off in app purchases on the iPod via Settings > General > Restrictions

    We are trying to create an application which has in-app purchase turned on and are selling Digital Content. The Content is created dynamically and hosted on our server. Unfortunately according to the guidelines because the content is Digital it falls under Non-Consumable Category. We have set In_App ID which is used for all the digital books, but there are multiple books at the same ID and they are individual Purchases.
    We are not setting Username creation currently and have no plans to do it also. Now the problem is that how do i Manage customers with multiple devices & restoring product if the customer goes and buys new device ....
    So summary of queries:
    1) How do i Manage non-consumable in-app purchases with Dynamic products via our server?
    If this cannot be done what are ways to do it where we can create dynamic content and it can be made available to the users immediately.

    This is presumably because you built non-renewable subscription In App Purchases within iTunes Connect, when you should have built renewable ones.

    Recently my 6 year old son was playing Real racing 3 game, he has without our knowledge clicked "Buy" on few options and I have been billed Rs.16610 on my credit card.  He was not prompted for any password when he clicked buy option. 
    As soon as we received alert on these transactions, we blocked the credit card and also removed the card from the itunes account to avoid such mistakes in future.
    We need help to find how to obtain refund for this transactions made without proper consent.

  • In-App Purchases: Freemium model. How to do in DPS?

    I have a multi folio (ipad/iphone) "recipe" app in iTunes priced at .99 - a price which still seems to be a big leap for getting a consistent number of downloads/installs.
    Most other recipe apps in the app store that I download are of the "freemium" model. Download/install is free, and you get 1 or 2 sample recipes and then must pay a fee to download the rest.
    Is there a way to set this up with DPS?
    Guessing I would change the price in iTunes to free, and submit a new app and In App Purchase request (puchase price at .99).
    And then set the articles I want available for preview when the app is downloaded as "Free" in the DPS Folio Producer/Article Access, and set the rest of the articles in the app (which you must purchase to see) as either "Protected" or "Metered?"
    Is this the correct way to do this or is there another method?
