Equipments to be calibrated

Dear Experts,
My client wants its equipment to be calibrated in house. In equipment we have tab (specification) under which range and other parameter to be captured is configured through class. Now I have created order for that particular equipment. I want to know, how to process that order, so that calibration report which is a Z-Report will get updated.
Regards,
Rajesh.

Hi,
Do the below steps :
1. In Config assign instepction type 14 to particular order type.
2. You need to create task list IA05 or IA09 etc and need to assign inspection points  , should be 300 for eqpts .
3. Use this tasklist in the calibration order and this fills the tasklist data in MO .
4. After saving and releasing the MO inspection lot gets generated ,click that and get that lot no..
5.Do results recording in QE51N for the InspecLot,
6.Do usage decision in QA11.
7. Then Confirm the order in IW41,TECO in IW32, Settlement in KO88, CLSD in IW32 .

  • Calibration Reports

    Hi Expert,
I am new in QM Module. Let me know about Calibration report.
My user requirement is - In Calibration report the system should show calibration due date.
Is any standard reports available in SAP? or I have to develop new report. If develop then what are the tables & fields needed to it. Please gives me Expert suggestion.

    HI Rahul
Calibration Process covers PM & QM functionality. Following are the steps
    1. create equipments as test equipments which require calibration (IE01)
    2. Create any type of task list (equipment/general) (IA01/IA05) with inspection point(3000assigned to it in task list header
    3. create maint plan(calibration plan) using IP01 for the test equipment where you need to mention schdulng parameters & frequency of calibration.
schedule the plan in IP10/ip30 - order will be generated based on the frequency & last calibration date i.e
if frequency is 1YR & last calibration date is 01.01.2011 then order with basic start date -01.01.2012 will be generated for calibration of that equipment.
You release the order & inspection lot will get generated.
Record result in QE11/qa32/qe51n and Usage decision in QA32/qa11
For report of calibration list with due date you will get it in IW38/39
where list of order & equipments with basic start date (calibration due) you will get
    or
IP24 - you will get the list of calls with equipment/maint(calibration) plan

  • Blocking the Instrument in use during calibration

    Hi Masters
Is there any possibility to block the instrument in use which is under calibration in SAP?
    -Mohan

    Hi
Do you means the Inspection lot is generated for a Equipment which is under calibration ,then there is no std SAP function which will block equipment automatically after you take UD of the calibration lot.
    But
You can always go to IE02->equipment>functions-->either Deactivate the Equipment or put deletion flag.
Also you can create User status for Equipments like
    CALB Calibrated
    UNRP Under rapaire
    NIU  Not in Use
    etc
SO that equipment will not be scheduled again.
I hope this will add some value.

  • Rejection in Usage Decision of an inspection Lot

    Dear Masters,
I want to know that is there any standard method to trigger the notification for rejection of an inspection lot?
Please do explain. Thanks in advance.
    Chin2

    Dear Pushpa,
Once again thanks for your reply. In the case mentioned above I can only define one notification type, what if I have more than one notification type to be used on rejection in usage decision? I will explain my scenario as below:
I have 3 different quality notification types i.e, 1) Engineering Calibration notification (For Engineering Equipments)
                                                                              2) Quality Calibration Notification (For Quality Equipments)
                                                                              3) Fleet & Trade Calibration Notification (For Fleet & Trade Equipments)
Now, I have 3 different types of orders from which the inspection lot will be created and for those 3 different types of orders I want 3 different types of notifications to be generated on rejection of the inspection lot.
Please do guide if there is any standard method to achieve this
    Thanks once again.

  • TPM, Predictive Maintenance and calibration of test equipments.

    hi experts,
can anyone explain me TPM, Predictive Maintenance and calibration of test equipments. Please clear my these concepts with domain knowledge.
    Thanks

TPM: Is Total productive maintenance. It is a standard tool used in different industries. TPM has many parts like preventive maintenance, preditive maintenance , 5S etc. The basic purpose of TPM is to increase the production and decrease the breakdown using 5S, preventive and predictive maintenaace and many other ty6pes of maintenence strategies like Root cause analysis, six sigma. so TPM is a broad term under which all the maintenance strategies, six sigma, 5S etc lies. To get knowledge about TPM here in SDN is not possible. Please follow this lik.
Predictive maintenance: it is the third step after the breakdown maintenace and preventive maintenance.
    The flow is as follows:
    Breakdown maintenance--Preventive maintenance--
    predictive maintenace.
TPM is used to move from breakdown maintenace to preventive maintenance and then tyo predictive maintenance.
Predictive maintenance is to predict the effect of any internal or external factor on machine or equipment and to take precautionary measure before that effect cause any effect on the machine. So to avoid the breakdown maintenance which result in close of plant and zero production , predictive maintenance is the best tool. But it is very hard to implemnt in practical maintenance scnerios.
Calibration of test equipments:  There are certain equipments in industries which need to be clibrated after a fixed time like 6 months , 2 years etc. Such type of equipment are temperature transmitters, sensors, pressure transmitter and sensor, Flow, level, moisture etc. Claibration is to set the instrument against a standard range which we get from master calibration instrument. these are called test equipments. In SAP PM  and QM we have to map that [process of calibration.
Take a example:  i have a temperature transmitter which i am using in milk industry for measuring the temperature of the milk. so When the temperature of milk is 50 degree celusis, the instrument must give me the output reading of 50 degree celseis. But after some time say 6 months the range and span and calibration of instrument get changed. So we need to calibrate it again to get the accurate reading. So we calibrate the indtrument with a standard transmitter.

  • Calibration of measuring equipments

Hi, How to maintain the calibration data in SAP using QM Module?Pls mention the t-codes related?

    Hi,
Please follow the following prcoess flow
You can create a maintenance strategy(IP11) for the calibration of equipment mean to say in what frequency calibaration is carried out either monthly, weekly or yearly.
Assign this strategy to the task list.after that follow the process steps as explained.
Once scheduling is carried out in IP10,according to the strategy maintained in task list, system will generate maintenance calls.for example if calibration is carried out monthly and scheduling is done for the period of 12 months, system will generate 12 maintenance calls.once first call is finished do deadline monitoring(iw38),system will automatically created maintenance order for the second call.
Calibration flow almost follows the preventive maintenance cycle except inspection point is assigned in task list.
Process flow(assuming test equipment and master data created)
IA05- Create General Task list(Enter inspection point :300,operation,inspection charactertics to the operation, usage)
IP01-Create maintenance plan( Use maintenace startegy of plant, enter equipment, select general task list for plan the equipment, enter call horizon, planning cycle schduling period)
IP10-Schedule the plan Schedule the plan for the quantity with frequency defined in the plan.Which schdule the according to the schdule date.Schedule date generates pm order for the plan on due date.
    IW33-Display order.
QE51-Calibration result recording for equipment- Gives status for result i.e ok or not ok.
    QA11-Lot usage decision
    IW41-Confirmation for the order.
    Hope it helps

  • Queries related to calibration inspection process

I have some queries related to calibration business process. They are as follows:-
1.Which equipment category do we choose, Q or P?
2.While creating a maintenance plan, which category do we choose, maintenance order or quality maintenance order?
3.Is it that we can't do a time confirmation before results recording? If I try to do so,I get this message"No open operation recieving confirmation entries for order".
4.While I create my maintenance plan,I get this message, a counter could not be defined for the reference object. Why so?
5.After usage decision,if I lock my equipment for further use,the equipment has the status both AVLB and NPRT.Why?
6.Can I create my calibration order manually and assign equipment task list.If so,how?
7.While creating my test equipment, for the PRT tab,the task list usage becomes a mandatory field. What setting is done for this task list usage to become a mandatory field?
Edited by: Pallavi Kakoti on Feb 2, 2012 8:19 AM

    Hi
1.Which equipment category do we choose, Q or P?
    Ans:
Q is normaly used for Instruments,Lab equipments
P also used for Production/process related equipments needs calibrations often
2.While creating a maintenance plan, which category do we choose, maintenance order or quality maintenance order?
    Ans:
Its all depends on config you have did. if Quality maintenance order should be linked to inspection type.can be used.
we can not used maintenance order if it is not linked to inspection type 14.
3.Is it that we can't do a time confirmation before results recording? If I try to do so,I get this message"No open operation recieving confirmation entries for order".
    Ans:
You can do time confirmation after result recording, then UD.after UD ,order will be TECOed automaticlay.
4.While I create my maintenance plan,I get this message, a counter could not be defined for the reference object. Why so?
    Ans:
Check any measuring counters created for the equipments,
5.After usage decision,if I lock my equipment for further use,the equipment has the status both AVLB and NPRT.Why?
    Ans:
After UD, system changes the status NPRT for the equipments have PRT view only.
if PRT view maintained in the equipment, system status remains AVLB.
If you dont to use the equipment after UD-Reject,have to go development using user status.
6.Can I create my calibration order manually and assign equipment task list.If so,how?
    Ans:
    Yes. you can
Create task list with 300 inspection point, assign when u create order
also you can have manual call in the maintenance plans.

  • Background Scheduling of Calibration Order

    Dear Experts,
I want to scheule my calibration order in QM for calibration of Test Equipment in background.
I have created my maintenance order for calibration of Gauges / Instruments (which are defined as Equipments). The dates for the calibration have been calculated based on time. When I go to the transaction of scheduling the order & save, the inspection lot for calibration is generated & the equipment task list is assigned to the lot.
I want this to automatically happen in background. This is because I have thousands of equipments, for which I can not schedule the calibration manually.
