Error in Roto Today
Hi All,
I did some Roto work for the first time today. First off the videos out there are a bit confusion. One used a white soild to Roto and Track, another used No Solid. I tried the no solid for my application which was a foreground object walking behind a composite or asset placed on a background. (care to expound?)
I made a seperate comp for this and when beginning my Roto I got an error about Roto FPS needs to match to get better results. See Pic(s) My Roto worked fine as desired, I did not need to create a second layer as my other comp was the second layer and the roto'd comp was well, my roto'd comp. So I plopped that Comp in the other comp and lined it up to do as needed.
My error was strange though, as I used the icon to drop a 29.97 .mov file to create the ROTO comp, settings were a match but I got a message about 59 fps see pics for more clarity please, What was I not doing to get them to jibe? Is this the reason my Master Comp wont render as asked in another post?
Thanks for your help on this

Strange error messages began today
Does anyone know what this means? (see message below) Everytime I open mail now I get these messages about each of my accounts with different email providers. The options I can choose are Open Read Only, Quit, and Open Anyway. It says if you "Open Anyway" it can damage an already open account, or something like that...
Any ideas what's gone wrong?
The mailbox “~/Library/Mail/[email protected]@pop.gmail.com/Deleted Messages.mbox” is currently locked by “(null)” on host “959F927E
”. If you open a mailbox that already is in use, you may damage its contents.Hi meredyth
Do you have a backup of your data on an external disk?
The iCal problem maybe nothing more than the preferences files corrupted
in your User Library, open the Preferences folder and drag the following onto the desktop
com.apple.iCal.AlarmScheduler.plist
com.apple.iCal.helper.plist
com.apple.iCal.plist
start iCal from the Applications folder rather than the Dock
if it starts then Backup Database using the iCal File menu - put it in a folder in your Documents folder
do the same with Address Book - I use the same folder as the iCal backup
that make reloading easier if you have to reinstall - again it will need backing up to an external disk
Is the mouse going blue something new, or did it happen before the mailbox problem
I assume the mailbox is still locked and as I have no experience of gmail.com it would be worth talking to them.
If were my machine I would be looking to do a clean reinstall and so Disk 1 is vital unless you wanted to go to 10.4 but either way you MUST have a backup
I shall be offline until tomorrow but post back and let me know how you are getting on
Good luck

errors with itunes today?
If you're receiving the msvcr80.dll is missing error when you open Apple iTunes, do the following:
Uninstall from Windows the following four programs: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application Support. You do this from an applet in Control Panel called Programs & Features (in Windows 8, 7, or Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (in Windows XP).
Download the latest version of iTunes from Apple and note the location you're saving it to so you can find it once it's done.
Run the iTunes installation as an administrator. If you're not sure how to do that, see How Do I Open an Elevated Command Prompt? for help. That procedure shows you how to open the Command Prompt program as an administrator, but the steps are essentially the same for anything, including the iTunes installation package you just downloaded. -
Error message when opening Encore
Hi there. I have been working with CS5 just fine for several weeks now and have burned several different projects without issues. However, when I opened up Encore this morning to start building a DVD, I got this message: Adobe Encore.exe - No Disk. There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk5\DR5.
My options to this error message is "Cancel", "Try Again", and "Continue". At some point or another, I have hit every one of these buttons and after several clicks, the message dissappears. I then try to open my project and it loads to 6% before becoming non-responsive. I've loaded several different ones of different sizes and still the same thing. I have reinstalled Encore - no change. I have restarted my computer - no change. Pro is working just fine and have had no errors with it today. One other error message I have gotten is the same except it says at the top of the box "PProHeadless.exe - No Disk".
Any ideas? As I said above, this computer has not had an issue before and nothing as been done to this since the last time we successfully built and burned a DVD (no new software/hardware, etc).
Running Windows 7 64-bitI am not sure what to check for in regards to the Windows Event Viewer...
Me either, but once upon a time, the application involved was not what I thought, and I was able to quickly solve the problem. The application is one of the things a windows event log identifies. I suspect you are seeing the application that is identified in the header for the error window that pops up (encore.exe and pproheadless.exe), but perhaps not.
I would also look for other errors in the logs, that may not be popping up, involving the drive info you saw.
I would look first in the Windows Logs -> Application.
I suspect a non-Encore cause (e.g. a windows update) that fouled something up.
I would also treat this as an Encore crash that is not limited to a corrupted project:

Error: There is a problem sending the command to the program in Excel 2010
I'm using Windows 7 and Office Home & Student 2010. This error just started today. The solution in previous versions of Excel is not solving the issue in the 2010 version.
This worked for me. I was having this error in Excel and Word. Did not test PowerPoint. Interesting test though.
Made sure Excel was not running. I went to the EXE properties and I set compatibility mode to Windows7. I applied the change. Then opened excel via document double click in Windows Explorer. Worked as expected, problem solved.
THEN... I closed Excel and made sure it was not running. Cleared Compatibility Mode to it's state before step 1. Applied the change. Proceeded to double click the document in Windows Explorer and it still works perfectly.
Not only was my Excel problem resolved. Word now works fine too. I did not have to modify anything in the Word.EXE properties.
I have no explanation as to why this "fix" worked after returning it to it's previous state or why it resolved the problem with another application. It must have resolved a different conflict in the OS not just within the application. I am now
happy, just a little confused. -
Error message while opening a project: "an error was encountered while loading the image"
We've run into a new error message here today:
an error was encountered while loading the image
It appears when we try to load a recorded project. It occurs on both the cp-file and the backup file.
It's on a windows 7-machine.
Anyone encountered it and knows what it means?
is the project lost forever?Hi there
Hmmm, it may be related to Windows 7, but let's check the obvious stuff first.
Where exactly is th project if you locate it using Windows Explorer? Is it found on your local C drive or is it found on a network drive?
If it's on a network drive, please note that Captivate has never worked well with projects being edited while they are on network resources. So the first step in this case (assuming that's where the project is) would be to move the project file off the network and onto the local C drive. Then try opening again.
Assuming the project isn't on a network, all still may not be lost. The next thing to try would be to create a new blank project sized identically to the one that seems to have gone south. Then click File > Import > Slides/Objects and see if you can import the content from the errant project into the new.
And if those steps fail, it's likely time to restart from scratch. But depending on what you have done so far and how you have done it, you might be able to salvage some of it by playing back the content (assuming you have published it during testing) and record what you are playing back with Captivate.
Best of luck to you in sorting things. You should also consider filing a Bug Report.
Cheers... Rick

Stale data error for a new page (based on an existing native sshr page)
Without going into too much detail on why I'm doing this, I copied an existing oracle native page, renamed it, and loaded it into the MDS.
I navigate to the page by creating an extension on a controller to take me to there on a button click. Also on this page, the native page that I copied is also accessible. There is a similar button click to take you to the native page.
I had a business requirement to create records for the current year (the native page), and records for next year. Using a dff to differentiate between the two types of records was not an option.
The copied page is used to simply create records. I extended the native controller to default a value behind the scenes (This is how I differentiaing between the current/next year records). The super.ProcessForm/superProcessFormRequest are there as well in this controller. From there, the page is using the same code as the native page that I copied.
When I click the "Save As Draft", "Apply", "Cancel" buttons, it works fine.
However, when I click on the "Apply Add Another" button, I'm getting the following error:
The requested page contains stale data. This error could have been caused through the use of the browser's navigation buttons (the browser Back button, for example).
Cause:
The record with primary key values {13002} could not be found in view object
AppraisalsAM.ObjectiveEditAM.ObjectivesVO.
To proceed, please select the Home link at the top of the application page to return to the main menu.
Then, access this page again using the application's navigation controls (menu, links, and so on) instead of using the browser's navigation controls like Back and Forward.
I've researched this error all day today on prior postings/threads, and I haven't found a posting that is similar to the one that I outlined.
I wouldn't think I would have to do anything programming wise since this is all native code, and the native page works fine. I'm guessing somewhere the native page is getting reference that is causing this error....
Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksYou could use HIDE/UNHIDE funtionality for page 2
1) create page 2 with all values ...
2) on page 1 - add jJavascript to show or hide Page 2 dependin on value

Macro error with BI Publisher Add-In: exd removal not working
I'm running into the 'macro not found' error as of today with the Oracle BI publisher desktop add-in for Word. Using Word 2007...everything worked fine yesterday, computer did an update overnight.
I tried the old methods of closing Word, locating .exd files on my hard drive, renaming them, and then restarting Word. Still running into the same issues. Has anyone else started to experience this today?
exd files are being generated after the above process to AppData\Local\temp\vbe (2 files: MSComctLib.exd and MSForms.exd)Hi I was also running with exact problem, and running on this issue for 1.5 days with all regular work around.
However below steps resolved my issue.
1. Uninstalled the old version of BI.
2. Taken latest version Oracle BI Publisher Desktop via OTN (http://otn.oracle.com/ ) which is 11.1.1.6 [ I took 32 bit version as my MS Word is 32 bit version].
3. Renamed the *.EXD %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp\VBE as *.EXD_OLD
4. Installed the latest version of BI Publisher Desktop, in admin mode.
With out any other work around its working.
Thanks!

I bought this S55-A5295 in July 2013. It started to have problems in April 2014. After 3 months of Critical Process Died, No Bootable Device, and having it shut down multiple times a day, I eventually convince service to take accept it because when I tried to do the recovery, the hard drive was missing partitions needed. (My $30 to ship, despite under warranty)
I received it back late June. The factory replaced the faulty screen (a different problem), but did not replace the hard drive. They supposedly "fixed" it, and added the needed partitions, should I need to do recovery again. I know that the partition was added because when I got it back, instead of being like new out of the box and ready to use, I was locked out because it was set to administrator and there was no option to access it, so I had to use the partitioned info. and do ANOTHER reset after getting it back from them. Not great service all around.
Now the laptop is out of warranty and I've started having problems again.
Sept. 16 -- I had a Kernal Data Inpage Error. The laptop made a horrible sound and shut down. At the time there was a Toshiba Canvio Slim II external drive attached.
Sept. 18 -- EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD 0xc00000bb the boot configuration data for your PC is missing or containing errors.
Sept. 19 -- Kernal Data Inpage Error. At this point I had removed the external drive, in case that was the problem. It wasn't letting me remove it earlier in the week. I didn't use it much over the next week.
Sept. 27 -- No Bootable Device.
Sept. 30 -- Kernal Data Inpage Error (volmgrx.sys)
Then Critical Process Died -- 3 different times
Then it restarted itself once without an error code.
Today, Oct. 1, I installed updates from Toshiba, including one fpr HDD and I performed maintenance. I tried to do the hard drive check, but the tabs in the instructions on the computer don't actually exist.
The directions: go to Computer, Properties, Tools tab (can't find it) , so no Error Checking and Check.
However, I did find, under Performance information and Tools my computer's performance rating. The Primary Hard Disk data transfer rate is 5.9.
So far it hasn't shut down today and hopefully the updates have fixed any issues, but I want to be prepared if they don't.
Are these errors coming from my laptop's hard drive? Is there a way for me to actually check that? Are the errors somehow connected to my TOSHIBA external drive? I haven't connected the external drive since the errors started happening, but i will need to use it again at some point, I just wanted to make sure the laptop was okay first.
Also, I am still running Windows 8. That's what they reset it to at the factory, and last time the issues seemed to correspond to me upgrading to 8.1, so I am wary to end up with a $600 paper weight again.
Please advise. Thanks!!..went through the whole reset. ... ..do ANOTHER reset after getting it back from them
What can I say? The gold-standard test for a software problem is to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents.
I'm a Windows specialist. Can't troubleshoot hardware.
