I wonder if it's one of the weird permissions/UAC related versions of these?
Can you try something for me please?
In Computer, open Local Disk C:\ or whichever drive you have your program files installed on.
*If you have a 32-bit Vista,* open the "Program Files" folder.
*If you have a 64-bit Vista,* open the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
Open the "QuickTime" folder.
Right-click the QuickTimePlayer.exe file and select "Run as Administrator".
Does it launch this time, or do you still get the error message?

I've got a few suspicions here, but I'll ask some questions before proceeding (to work out if I'm on the right track).
Was this the first time you had downloaded video from the camera to the PC? If so, did you have to install any Canon software in order to do that? If so, what was the name and version of the software?
When you tried to uninstall QuickTime, did you get a "fatal error" message?

    Hi Ron.
Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.

  • Quicktime : Windows Vista w/SP2 - Windows Error : Export Controller stopped

With the latest Quicktime version I am getting several errors in several applications:
Windows Vista with SP2: "Export Controller was closed - Data Execution Prevention has sttoped Export Controller"
After Effects CS4: "Invisible OpenGL Buffer Windows: The procedure entry point...etc..etc..could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll"
I fixed the iTunes error as suggested by Rob (moving the SQLite3.dll provided to the iTunes folder as suggested yeasterday and the error does not showed up again when I did restart my system.
But there are still "serious" issues with Windows Vista and other applications such as After Effects in regards to the SQLite3.dll. I can not even import MOV files in After Affects NO more.
Pleas help I am wasting a lot of time in attempting to fix something that was working "perfectlly" before the whole update (iTunes/Quicktime).
Thanks agaain in advance for your help and assiatnce on this matter.

I am quite disappointed with these Apple' folks. Almost a month or so with the QuickTime' issues and nobody seems to know what is going on. It seems that they are quite lost. I wonder WHERE their Technical and Support Managers are ????????....
DO YOU GUYS CARE HOW MUCH IS THIS ISSUE COSTING "YOUR" COMPANY ??????????????????
DO YOU CARE ??????..with such attitude, no wonder why so many US companies are falling down to the drain.....and quickly....
A simple respond that shows COMMITMENT will do it...when are you "planning" to have a solution ????????????...
llottlott..AE4 works regardless of the errors..at least, it is my experience so far, the only thing is to convert the MOV files into for example FLV. It seems to me that any FLV option is better than MOV files and certainly with all these issues and lack of respond, FLV would become a better option.

  • PS4 Controller stops working during games... help!

Right, so basically... I was playing Lego Marvel earlier today, when all of a sudden the face buttons weren't working, I could still run around, but not attack or jump... I pressed the Playstation button and it went to the menu, so I closed the application, and restarted the game. From here, I couldn't press ANY button, or even use the analogue sticks, only the Playstation button worked, so I had to do a hard reset of the console, since I couldn't press a button to close the application at all... I've tried it with other games now, Killzone, Flower, Resogun and Battlefield 4, and it seems that as soon as I boot a game up, my controller becomes completely unresponsive apart from the Playstation button, even the analogue sticks stop working, so I can't navigate menu's or anything... not even the PS4 menu works after I boot a game up... so everytime I've had to do a hard reset. Not sure if it's the controller, since I've had it since launch day and it's worked perfect up until now... Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a way to fix it? D:

Ok guys, had this happen to me recently and here was the fix, though some may not like it. the PS4 would act normal on boot-up,controller functioned fine.Upon loading a game or even clicking in menu/submenu areas the controller would cease to respond..no button responses, analog sticks not moving anything, etc. The only thing left functional was the PS button.Did some basic troubleshooting steps to rule out a glitch with the app/game and when all else failed went straight to the horses mouth. I got on the phone with PSN and got walked through 3 steps with a Sony rep.Her accent was a bit hard to follow at times, but bonus points for sounding hot as well as being surprisingly helpful and knowledgeable. 1. Controller hard reset. Flip the controller over and look at the backside. On the right side next to one of the screws is a small hole which houses a reset button, similar to a router.Youll need a paperclip or something similar to get down in there,I used a straight pick from an o-ring pick set.If I recall correctly the controller should go dark and perhaps even come back to life pulsing orange.Hit the PS button and it should give the prompt to assign it to an account as per any other device that connects on the fly. Now this also assumes you do not have a faulty controller. If you do have one on hand,of course swap them out and check the results. 2. Rebuild database This is where it started sounding a bit scary. The rep had me put the PS in Safe Mode for the following step. There are 2 ways to enter safe mode.If the system is powered up you can hold the power button - youll hear the initial beep that indicates system shutdown and a subsequent beep a few seconds later confirming it is entering safe mode.A few seconds later the safe mode menu should display on screen. If the system is powered down or in standby hold the power button through the 2 beep sequence as its booting up and safe mode should display shortly. Once in safe mode 7 options will be displayed. You want option 5, "Rebuild Database".This is the first step in getting a bit more serious with the glitch for a good reason.Evidently it rebuilds the database for the system without erasing anything on your hard drive. All of your information will safe,or at least mine was and the rep was confident in it.It took roughly 5 minutes for the process to complete and afterwards I still had the same problem.Fear gave way to despair and at this point I was getting *****.Of course the rep was doing a good job helping me out,so I wasnt about to give her a hard time..no need in that.At this point I thought I had a $400 paperweight on hand. 3. Initialize PS4 This one got down and dirty.Initialization is pretty much what it states. It wipes the HD and places the PS4 in the state you found it right out of the box.All defaults are restored and NO games/save files survive. All clear. The PSN rep stated that it was a good thing having the Playstation Plus subscription, for the purpose of not having to pay to re-download any games.Im not sure if save files and so forth can be restored via the option that most games give to upload game files and saves to Sonys server periodically. Anyway,Initialization is option 5 in the safe mode menu and takes roughly the same amount of time as the database rebuild. It was rather painless, but then repeating the few minutes it takes to reset the time/date,re-associate your PSN account with the system, etc etc through the defaults.Once complete,I had full responsiveness from the controller at all times and the system is now performing as expected. If youre having a similar issue and wish to speak to Sony before wiping your HD,the contact number for PSN is 1-800-345-7669.Expect to be on hold waiting for a live rep for 10-20 mins, and while on standby to suffer through some absurdly loud/noisy game music. After entering some basic options with the keypad just relax until a rep comes on. Hope this helps.

  • Midi controller stopped working

I'm hoping someone can help. My midi keyboard stopped working in the tune that I'm working on. It works fine in other LP7 sessions that I'm working in but it won't work in this one particular session.
The transport menu shows "No In" for midi... I'm wondering if that is a clue to anything....
    I'm using a M-audio Radium USB keyboard.
    Thanks!

Today's rant is brought to you buy the word "bollocks".
This post is the 3rd or 4th report of a connection between the physical input and the seq. input disappearing. Sorry, but this is "bollocks" and needs to be addressed.
"Thanks for letting me vent, honey. And for letting me use the word "bollocks". I feel much better now."

  • Export preferences stopped working

    Hi,
I have Gargageband 3. I am recording in Podcast and was using Garageband preferences to be ablt to export to iTunes at two different qualities, one for spoken podcast, one for musical. It was working fine, then stopped. Now it just exports to iTunes in a huge Aiff format file. Does anyone know how I can get this functioning again? Obviously, I try setting the preferences, but still no results.

  • K7N2 D2Platinum OnBoard Network Controller Stopped Working

    Hi all.
I'm new here, but have to write, coz I have a very annoying problem. I got the advise to open a new, clear topic. Here it is:
I'm using my K7N2 D2platinum for more than 1 years, without any problem, using the onboard LAN for internet (connected to ADSL cable modem), and another Ethernet card for internal LAN.
2 days ago, I was playing network game with friends, when suddenly my connection was lost. I tried to reach homepages, but no avail. Try to ping some common addresses, nothing happens, 100% lost.
I rebooted, and saw, that my ip address for netconnection changed to 163... etc. This is weird, coz originally my ISP always give some 80... etc from DHCP.
I tried renew my ip, no success.
Called my ISP, they said, they can see my modem, but can't see my PC. I have to plug the cable to my another ethernet card for a moment - I did it, and they saw my pc in this case. They adviced to reinstall my onboard NIC driver. OK, perhaps later.
After all, I found an old Ethernet card (Realtek family) in my case, so I installed it. After a quick reboot my netconnection was fine through this new card. So no network problem on ISP side, there is something with my onboard LAN.
I tried to uninstall / remove the driver from hardware settings panel, but the info window freezes (can be closed via alt+F4). If I reboot in safe mode, and try to remove again, windows says : cannot remove, device is needed for operation. (or smth like this)
I tried reinstall LAN components from the latest MSI (nforce 1/2) driverset (5.10), but nothing changed. I think it cannot overwrite the old (damaged?) files.
Now I'm using 2 PCI eth.card, one to connect with another PC, and one for internet. I disabled the onboard LAN from bios. But this is annoying, I don't understand  what happend from one minute to another, and I would like to use my integrated NIC!
I found some posts here, advising to set the MAC address in bios manually, regarding to a sticker on the mobo, but I don't have such an option in BIOS.
What should I do now? Are there any solution?
    Thanx!

    Here again.
I've checked the settings you mentioned.
In BIOS under Integrated Peripherials I have the following items:
    RAID Config                     [Press Enter]
    OnChip USB                     [V1.1+V2.0]
    USB KB/Storage Support    [Enabled]
    Serial ATA                       [Enabled]
    SATA Spread Spectrum      [Disabled]
    AC97 Audio                      [Auto]
    MAC Lan(nVIDIA)              [Auto]
    VIA OnBoard 1394             [Enabled]
After I pressed the secret keycombo, ShiftF2 + Alt F3, 3 new lines appeared:
    RAID Config                     [Press Enter]
    OnChip USB                     [V1.1+V2.0]
    USB KB/Storage Support    [Enabled]
    Serial ATA                       [Enabled]
    SATA Spread Spectrum      [Disabled]
    AC97 Audio                      [Auto]
    MAC Lan(nVIDIA)              [Auto]
MAC Media Interface         [RGMII]     <--- can set to: Pin Setup/MII as well
    Machine MAC(NV) Address  [Disabled]
MAC(NV) Address Input      [Press Enter]   <----  here is the trick I thinkVIA OnBoard 1394             [Enabled]
I switched Machine MAC Address to ENABLED, so I can enter the Address.
After pressed ENTER on MAC(NV) Address Input      [Press Enter] , I got a new window, waiting for the address, telling: Enter:accept, ESC:exit.
I tried to type the numbers, but nothing happened, no numbers, no cursor, and after some key pressed, my PC started "ding"ing on evety new key pressed.
No ESC, no Enter, I could only ALT+CTRL+DEL the pc, so rebooted again.
Tried several times, after entering the small "enter MAC address here" window, the pc freezes.  :(
    Any idea now? ...

  • Cannot get QuickTime working with Vista due to Export Controller.

I have downloaded the latest version of ITunes and Quick Time. ITunes works fine, but when I click on the QuickTime icon I get the Windows message "Export Controller not Working." Yesterday QuickTime would load after about 30 seconds, but now it does not load at all. Today I have uninstalled QuickTime and re-installed it. However, I am still getting the message "Export Controller not working." QuickTime appears in the task bar, but when I try clicking on it it will not open. I do not want to uninstall ITunes because it is working okay, and my family have a lot of music downloaded on it. I am not at all technical, and I would appreciate any help that anyone can give to resolve this problem with QuickTime. I note that there is a previous question on this topic that remains unanswered.

There is obviously still a problem somewhere as I am still getting the Export Controller message, but I am very appreciative for your help. What is Export Controller, and do you have any idea why it is not working properly?
What i presume the Export Controller is ... is part of the machinery that allows QuickTime Pro to export movies to other formats. Although you only get that functionality in QuickTime Pro, it's built in to the QuickTime player (basically, to get QuickTime Pro, you buy a "QuickTime Pro Key" which unlocks all the movie editing capabilities of the Player.)
As to what is causing it ... well I've come across a possible lead off in another thread.
Over here, DevilQc is getting an Export Controller error, but he's also getting a message about his CoreFoundation.dll:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10304475&#10304475
CoreFoundation.dll is part of Apple Application Support (which is a seperate program from QuickTime, but is required for the latest versions of QuickTime to run). If Apple Application Support is missing or damaged, usually QuickTime (and iTunes) won't start *at all.* But it's possible that if you've got some sort of subtle damage to your Apple Application Support, QuickTime might run with an error message.
So I'm thinking that the next thing we should try is swapping out your Apple Application Support. Unfortunately, the easiest way to do that is by uninstalling Apple Application Support and QuickTime and then reinstalling QuickTime, so we'll have to go through that rigmarole again.
Follow the instructions I posted last time for the QuickTime uninstall/reinstall (no need to download a fresh copy of the QuickTime installer though ... the one you downloaded last time should do the trick), with the following additions:
*When you are in the "Uninstall a Program" Control panel:* Also uninstall Apple Application Support.
*When you are in the \Program files\ directory clearing away any leftover program files or folders:* Open the "Common Files" folder. Right-click the "Apple" folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. (Note: This folder may have already been deleted if Apple Application Support was successfully removed using Uninstall a Program earlier.)
The QuickTime reinstall should then also reinstall Apple Application Support. With a fresh copy of Apple Application Support in place, do you still get the Export Controller error message?

  • Export controller

Having just upgraded to the latest release of Quicktime (7.6.4) I get the message 'export controller has stopped working' when I go to open the programme... I engage 'windows will check etc. etc.' in he requester box and eventually Quicktime will open after a 30-40 second delay... very frustrating, as everything worked well prior to the upgrade... can anyone help?
    Thank you!

I have downloaded the latest version of ITunes and Quick Time and I am experiencing the same problems as other posters. ITunes works fine, but when I click on the QuickTime icon I get the Windows message "Export Controller not Working." • QuickTime 10.1 Stops Working, Starts hogging memory before terminating!

Hi, I was using QuickTime 10.1, which came with my new iMac OS X 10.7.2, to export M4A out of M4V.  After about ten exports, QT stops working and starts hogging gigabytes of RAM before terminating itself.  Please advise.  Thanks-

I have never tried this, but...
    How to downgrade QT?
    Solution
This is how you can downgrade QuickTime 7.1.6 to version 7.1.5:
    1. Download Quicktime 7.1.5 installer:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime715formac.html
    2. Mount the installer package. This is very important.
    3. Download and install Pacifist from this location:
    http://www.charlessoft.com/
    4. Run Pacifist. In its dialog press the "Open Package" button. Browse for the .PKG file in the mounted package. In the appearing list Right Click on the .PKG and from the context menu choose "Install To Default Location". Please note that if you mistakenly select the unmounted .DMG file into Pacifist instead of the PKG, there will be an installation but without an effect.
    5. Check in the "User Administrator Privileges" checkbox. Press Install.
    6. When asked tell the installer to replace the already existing files. Do this with all the files.
    7. When the install process is finished restart the computer.
    8. Run the QuickTime 7.1.5 installer package again WITHOUT Pacifist and let it install the files again.
    9. Restart the computer

  • Vista STILL getting "Export Controller has stopped working" problem

Everyone knows about the "Export Controller has stopped working" problem. The error message displays, then half a minute later, you get a "Quicktime has stopped working" error message. I have Googled it numerous times and I have never found anything more than what I did the first time. As far as I'm aware there are still no fixes for this problem. I believe there has been about three Quicktime updates since the first release of Quicktime 7, when this problem arose, and none have made any difference. Reinstalling and uninstalling + redownloading doesn't work, and I am not prepared to downgrade to an older version of iTunes, or buy a Mac. If anyone has any possible fix for this, please post here. I wish Apple would do something about this.

A permissions glitch I think, Marz, masquerading as the Export Controller thing we saw a reasonable amount of a few versions ago. (I just checked the wife's 64-bit Vista lappie, and the QuickTime Player Start menu shortcut should have a run as administrator in the right-click menus ... whether that's part of your permissions trouble or a seperate business isn't clear, I'm afraid.)
The bulk of those "Export Controller" errors got fixed by an update to Apple Application Support, but I was involved in an epically long-running thread back then where we found that for a rare subset of them: (a) Run as administrator would launch the QuickTime Player without the message, and (b) in other admin user accounts on the same PC, the QuickTime Player could be launched normally without the message.
Since then I've seen a few other similar user-account-specific issues (with different error messages) where the same run-as-administrator trick gets you past the troubles. The precise error message seems to depend on which file/folder/key your user account loses a permission on.
Finding the dodgy permission can be a pain ... I don't have a reliable technique for that. But one workaround you might want to try is using the QuickTimePlayer.exe compatibility tab to set the Player to always run as administrator. (Unfortunately, it's usually a bit more reliable a workaround on 7 than it is on Vista.)
Quit the QuickTime Player if you have it open. Track down the QuickTimePlayer.exe file again, right-click and select "Properties". In the Compatibility tab, select "Run as administrator" and click OK.
Try launching the Player again ... does it launch without the Export Controller error? Or do you instead get one of the error messages described in the following document?

    Hi,
Ive got the same problem with Quicktime 7.5.5 on my PC but im not using itunes. It only happens when I open the first instance of Quicktime then it pauses for a while before launching. Every other instance opens normally, but if I close them all and open a new instance, it happens again.
Maybe no biggy cause it eventually opens anyway it doesnt bother me so much but it still pretty frustrating.

  • Export Controller has stopped working

    Help,
Whenever I try to export a video, Quicktime crashes and gives me the following error, "Export Controller has stopped working". I'm running a dual core app with Vista premium. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Quicktime. My system has also crashed a couple of times since this error has occurred.
    Thanks,
