Flow vs. Stock Figures in BPC

Dear Experts,
I quess, this is a really stupid question but I just couldn't find out how to solve this issue. Where can I set wether or not a figure is supposed to be summed up periodically or not?
E.g. ebit for the whole year 2009 shows right because it is a sum of the moths. Price however is not supposed to be a sum. Balance Sheet figures is the same problem. They are stock figures no flow figures.
I searched for the property in the member sheet but couldnt find anything.
Can somebody help me?
Thanx in advance,
Cora

Cora,
There is an interplay of application type and account type here. In the PERIODIC measure accounts with ACCTYPE "INC" and "EXP" (income statement accounts) will display periodically (flow) while accounts with ACCTYPE "AST" and "LEQ" (balance sheet accounts) will display year-to-date. Interestingly, AST and LEQ accounts are always stored and displayed as YTD values, no matter what the measure selected or the application type.
Now, you are asking about time-rollups for prices, which is a bit tougher. Off the top of my head, I don't remember a good way to do this. You probably ought to set them to be balance sheet type accounts (AST, most likely), which will result in the last price of the period you choose displaying (so if you choose 2009.TOT, you will see the price for 2009.DEC).
This probably isn't exactly what you want (maybe you want an average, for example), but if you want another behavior you will probably have to turn to custom measures. I think that user education and careful report design is probably a better approach than a custom measure in this scenario.

  • Incorrect Unrestricted Use Stock Figure in VL10h

    Hi,
The unresticted use stock figure in VL10h is not correct for a sales BOM scenario as described below.
I have an order consisting of sales BOM:
Top level material          Item category TAP (pricing at item)       Schedule line CT (no goods movement)         Stock 0
Component material       Item category TAN (standard)              Schedule line CP (with goods movement)      Stock 1
When running VL10h the unrestricted use stock column is showing 0 for both items - even though there is 1 in stock for the component.
    Thanks
    Caroline

First check in MMBE whether the stock is not flowing against "Reserved against Delivery".  Alternatively, you can check in MD04 also.
As you would be aware stock in sale order will be determined based on the schedule line category VOV6 where you should have checked the box "Availability".  The control is also in Requirement Class where you can make a check.

  • TRansfer Order - Negative stock figures

    Dear Friends:
Using T.code LT03, I entered Warehouse no,plant, delivery and pressed enter
In storage, I selected 003(open storage) and selected post
In movement data, I entered the data
source storage type: 003 (open storage)
source storage section - 001 (Total section)
storage bin - 16-03-69 and pressed enter
I get the error ' Storage type 003 does not allow negative stock figures'.
How to overcome the error? Please advise.
    Thanks&Regards
    MSReddy

You need to activate negative posting allowed indicator at two levels:
    1. In the material master, in Plant data / stor 2 you have to tick the indicator Negative stocks allowed in plant
    2. In TCode OMJ1 allows negative stock allowed for each plant / storage location.

  • Mapping of BI Key figures to BPC Amount

    Hi All,
I want to know that how do we map the key figures in BI cube to BPC Amount.
I have also gone through Pravin Datar's Blog ( /people/pravin.datar/blog/2009/04/16/loading-transactional-data-from-any-infocube-to-bpc-application-in-bpc7nw
) regarding it but didn't find the solution.
All the key figures are suggested to be mapped to Amount, but it will not work as whole data will come in amount only. So please suggest me
    1. how to proceed with the mapping of different key figures in BI to BPC Amount.
    2. Also do we have to create a seperate dimension to hold all these key figures.
Please help me in above doubts.
    Thanks in advance
    Sanjay

    HI sanjay,
Are you talking about the situation in which multiple key figures are to be mapped to single Signdata in BPC?
if that is the case, there is a possibilty in BI where u can create BI cube with single keyfigure and load the data to it by using rule groups option in BI transformations. fields can be transformed below manner.
    BI cube with multiple KFs.
    Field 1     Field 2     Fin year end     Quarter     M1     M2     M3
    B     IN     2008     1     100     50     80
    D     US     2008     2     150     200     250
    C     ZY     2008     3     75     450     55
    Transformed BI cube structure
Field 1     Field 2     Fin year end     Quarter     Month     KF
    B     IN     2008     1     4     100
    B     IN     2008     1     5     50
    B     IN     2008     1     6     80
    D     US     2008     2     7     150
    D     US     2008     2     8     200
    D     US     2008     2     9     250
    C     ZY     2008     3     10     75
    C     ZY     2008     3     11     450
    C     ZY     2008     3     12     55
this can be achieved using Rule groups technique in BI transformations

  • Transactional Figure in BPC

    Hi All,
I have situation here, I'm loading a .CSV file with column on GL Account and Cost Centre and Val in Rep Cur, after scheduling package I get error message "Mapping error: The dimension does not exist in the application. [VAL.IN REP.CUR.]
Ideally how do I store them in my Application ? Do I need to create a Dimension to store then figures, in NW is different but I'm in MS version hiow can I store the transactional figure.
    Thanks
    Zan

    Hi Zan,
The source file must be a text file containing delimited strings where each field represents the name of a dimension member.
The fixed format requires a first row defining the name and the position of all dimensions, like in the following example:
CATEGORY, TIME, ENTITY, ACCOUNT, PRODUCT, PERIODIC
ACTUAL, 1999.Jan, UK, Sales, Sedan, 1234
ACTUAL, 1999.Jan, UK, Sales, Coupe, 2345
ACTUAL, 1999.Jan, FR, Sales, Sedan, 986
ACTUAL, 1999.Jan, FR, Sales, Coupe, 945

  • Deriving Closing stock value in BPC

    Hello Experts,
I want to have closing stock (Quantity & Value) in my BPC report, but in BI stock value and quantity is not stored as on date. I can get only Issue quantity/value and Receipt quantity/Value on daily basis, we can accumulate this value to get monthly values.
Is there a way to get closing stock value from BI/BW.
    Regards
    Bhagyesh Ravange

    Hi Deepthi,
Difference in both of reports is due to that MC.A is picking the values from stock movements while Z-ALR_87012277 or S-ALR_87012277 is picking the values from the respective G/Ls.
However If anybody make the direct posting in G/L then this update will be reflect in ALR report but it will not be visible for MC.A or any other stock valuation tcode because direct posting in G/L dosn't involve any material movements.
    Hope you are getting me....

  • Stock figures uploaded wrongly

    Dear All,
we have done initial uploaded the stock using movement type 561.
there are some  FERT materials where the base unit of measure is each EA.
the client has given us the stock in boxes, as the material is sold in boxes.
    alternative unit is maintained.
the right way would have been that the boxes should have been converted into each so that the right figure could have arrived.
this data was loaded 2 months back that is on 30.6.2007.
now the june period is closed.
now what we are planning is that we take out the stock using movement type 562.
and upload with correct figure in the period 1..7.2007.
    is this a right way/
can somebody purpose what precautions need to be done.
what will the impact on system?
is it required to do MR22 and MR21 again for the material.
    please help
    regards

    Hi
The <b>UoM</b> in Material Master is <b>"ea".</b>
When you do 562, the stock becomes Zero and hence the Stock Value becomes Zero. Again when the stock is uploaded, the stock value becomes correct (as we already have the price unit as ea).
Hence <b>i believe that MR21 need not be used</b>.
Before using 562, check for :
    <b>1.</b> <b>Reservations</b>, if any
    <b>2.</b> <b>Existing Purchasing Documents</b> on that Material
    <b>3.</b> <b>Freeze Physical Inventory</b>
    Pls Revert & Reward.

  • -ve as on stock figures in stock reports

    Hi experts,
I would need some help regarding Inventory management subject in BW. I had followed the pocedure given in " How to ..manage inventory in BW" for reconstruction of stock cube. I am getting -ve stock values as on date in some of the cases.
I found that some of the documents are missing in BW. These were posted when we had done 2LIS_03_BF Delta initialisation (with data transfer) in BW. What should have been the correct way to avoid this
    Please help.
    With regards,
    Wrushali

    Hi,
Yes the sequence with which we have loaded data in our Inventory Cube.
But we have not loaded 2LIS_03_BX. And thats also fine. But the rest sequence is fine, I would always suggest as far as possible, INIT w/o Data Transfer.
I am into BW 3.50 Version and I do not see this particular Field in the KF - 0VALLSTK_QTY (Valuated stock quantity)
Regarding the -ve values as mentioned it is an account of the movements done, which leads to a +ve and -ve values in the InfoCube Content.
    I have the KF
Quantity of valuated stock VALSTCKQTY 0VALSTCKQTY
    I have the following fields
    0ISSTOTSTCK, 0ISSVALSTCK, 0ISSVS_VAL, 0RECVS_VAL, 0RECTOTSTCK , 0RECVALSTCK  fields which give -ve values.
I am not sure which Cube are you using, is it a Business Content / Enhanced / Customized ?
    Hope it helps,
    Pradip Parmar.

  • Purchasing flow with stock - Integration to FM

    Dear experts,
my customer would like to have the FM budget check only when the warehouse orders from the supplier (on the warehouse FC)
For this purpose I implemented a fix FC assignment, whenever the "Inventory Flag" is avtive. For specific movement types, I implemented an assignment of statistical commitment item.
Now I face the following problem:
When posting the Purchase Order, everything works fine (I can see in the trace of FMDERIVE, that the inventory flag is active and therefore, the FC will be filled)
When posting a goods receipt (TA MIGO) on the same Purchase Order, the Inventory flag is no more active as I see in trace. The system throws error message FC is not filled.
Do you know this issue and what to do?
Thanks a lot for any hint,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
I have some information that may help you with your issue:
    - Please check if you have defined in FMDERIVE a derivation rule to clear commitment item or funds center field. You should adjust FMDERIVE in order to avoid that FMDERIVE overwrites the inherited account assignment if you wish to maintain the account assignment across the whole MM document chain.
    - You need to set the field status of the field FLG_INVNTRY_PSTNG in purchase order to 'Display' in order to ensure the use of the automatically derived account assignments.
    - On the other hand, you are posting a Goods receipt (MIGO, probably movement type 101) where the related business transaction is RMWE. If this is your case it is correct that the Inventory posting flag is not relevant in this case as it is not an inventory posting.
If you want to get business transaction RMWA, you need to post Goods issues and use a different movement type, i.e. 201K
I believe that you are using scenario 1. Note 700485 says:
    a) for scenario 1:
A statistical commitment item must be derived for all goods issue postings concerning the warehouse (process RMWA in field
TRANSAC). Since the relevant account assignments are already entered with the purchase order for the FM, SAP recommends to change these to mandatory fields by means of the field status.
Process RMWA is Goods Movement, done by transaction MB11.
Process RMWE is Goods receipt for purch. order
Please check your trace log and see which process appears there, I believe that trace shows process RMWE and flag
FLG_INVNTRY_PSTNG not marked when you are in MIGO.
May you so kind to clarify RMWE from MM point of view? Is it correct to create RMWE, movement 101 for stock?
It seems to be that the standard program is not considering your example with RMWE as a stock movement, it is expecting a RMWA process to be able to have the flag FLG_INVNTRY_PSTNG marked.
Please refer carefully to the Warehouse concepts documentation. In order to bypass this error, you should work under one of the Warehouse scenarios supported by SAP and adjust your customizing accordingly.
In the link below the warehouse concepts are described with the related business transactions: (purchase requisition, purchase order, and goods issue).
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/f0/ca3f50260211d28a430000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
Plase check the complete link, specially:
    - the example of customizing settings for Scenario 1 available there (graphic);
    - a posting Example Warehouse Concept 1;
    - Posting Example for Consumable Materials and,
    - Overview of Posting Ex. Consumable Materials/Warehouse Concepts
I believe that this will help you with your issue.

  • Considering Customer Stock for planning in factory location

    Hi,
We have 2 customers which send us files with the forecast and the stock figures in their storage locations. When planning, we need to consider both together with our own stock for those articles. However, note that flows are not cross company, neither VMIs.
Stocks are only considered for planning so the idea would be to map the stocks directly in APO with IDOC Proact or a BAPI. Have you ever worked with a solution like this?
Article number are exclusive for each customer so I think that a solution could be to plan considering both stocks (at customer and in our plant) and the forecast that they send. Suggestions about creating stock in our plant which belongs to the customer?
Other alternative is creating the customer locations in APO but I am afraid that it is not fully compatible with R/3 and moreover, sales will be in our plant, and forecast in another (customer). P.e: when sales would create the Sales Orders in our plant to process the delivery, we would have double demand in our plant: from the customer purchase req and the sales order.
Could you please advice if you have worked with any similar flow? Which alternative might work better? Other suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!
    Carlos

    Hi,
Since you mention the value of the parts is very cheap, I would suggest to flag these materials as Bulk and plan them via ROP (say VB) & max lot size (HB). Maintain a suitable ROP, safety stock & max stock levels.
If you want you can also think of using ROP with ext. reqmts. (make a copy of V1 to say Z1) where-in you have flagged order reservation to be considered.
Do a test in your sandbox & if it meets your need adopt the same.
    Regards,
    Vivek

  • Stock report for a period (based on posting date)

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement as under:
    1) We want a report for a period say from 01.04.2011 to 30.09.2011 (closed period for both MM and FI postings). Report is being taken on a later date say 01.12.2011.
    2) The report should say the status of stock as of 30.09.2011 only even of being taken in the month of December
    3) I tried to take the desired report through MB5B for the period 30.09.2011 to 30.09.2011 (selection date fields) on 20th december, 2011 and noticed that if same report with the same selection criteria is taken at two different times, output data is not the same whereas MM and FI posting periods are already closed.
Can anybody suggest alternative SAP standard report where output will remain the same if report with same selection criteria is taken at different intervals ELSE in case of change we should be able to see the documents posted in between if back dated entries have been posted after opening MM /FI period.
    thanks

sure it speaks the same, but it mentions as well the reasons (1) and has much more information (2)  and a solution.(3)
    1)
user starts transaction MB5B for a very large number of materials or for all materials in a plant
During the runtime of transaction MB5B, goods movements are posted in parallel:
               - The results of transaction MB5B are incorrect.
               - Each run of transaction MB5B returns different results for the same combination of "material + plant".
Example: Transaction MB5B should process 100 materials with 10,000 MM documents each. The system takes approximately 1 second to read the material master data  and it takes approximately 1 hour to read the MM and FI documents. A goods movement for a material to be processed is posted approximately 10 minutes after you start transaction MB5B. The stock for this material before this posting has already been determined. The new MM document is also read, however. The stock read before the posting is used as the basis for calculating the stocks for the start and end date.
Even for an old and closed period, MB5B starts today and calculates backwards  any movement to finally get the stock for  the time your specified in your selection.
    2)
The SAP standard release does not include a solution
so you have to understand that there is no real alternative transaction in SAP
    3) and then they provide a large section with a workaround that can be developed by an experienced programmer within 3 to 5 days.
So how shall anyone here be able to tell you an alternative report?
if someone does, then it is an owndeveloped z-report which is not available in your sap system.
if you know that people want lookup period closing stocks at any time in future, then either schedule MB52 at month end and store the list somewhere (and do not allow backposting)
or have an Abaper create a stock report based on the history tables MARDH, MCHBH, MBEWH etc.
And even here you may encounter an issue at some day, if you start archving special stocks or material masters, because then the stock figures from the historic tables are gone and you cannot rebuilt a reliable stock report .

  • Restrict goods issue if stock on posting date is zero

    Requirement:
Current Inventory period : July 2011
    Stock of a material from 01.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 is zero(in MB5B report)
I upload stock of material  or GRN occur on 31.07.2011. Say Quantity u2013 100
Now stock as on 31.07.2011 is 100 in MB5B
    Still, Stock of a material from 01.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 is zero(in MB5B)
Now, If I do goods issue of a material quantity 100 on 15.07.2011. System allows goods issue. though opening and closing stock as on 15.07.2011 is zero.
After goods issue transaction if I check stock of material on any date between 16.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 , The opening stock and closing stock shows negative.
I want to restrict goods issue if stock on posting date is zero or less then stock available on posting date.
    Please suggest

    Hi,
This is not the way SAP is designed. As the previous speakers wrote (and as you noticed yourself), SAP maintains stock figures in the database per month rather than per day. MB5B makes complex calculations in order to find out how much stock you had on a specific date - as you probably noticed on the response time. Performing such calculations every time you do a GI would be unfeasibly heavy task for the system - remember there are organisations that perform hundreds of inventory movements a minute!
An alternative solution I suppose would be to maintain the daily stock figures in the database. This would make the finding of the stock figure very quick, but on the other hand, the maintenance of such table would be unfeasible - if you post today a GI on say July 1st, you would need to calculate 36 stock figures and update 36 database records!
Hope this explains the technical issue.

  • Opening stock for stock provided to vendor

    Hi Gurus,
I m trying to get opening stock for stock at subcontracter. I m using 0TOTALSTCK in the Query and I'm getting wrong values as compare with MB5B. I dont know how to show the opening stock and closing stock in the Query for this special stock (the indicator is "O").
MB5B is showing opening stock when you select the special stock and enter the date, but in my Inventory Cube and Query i see something else. I checked the initilisaiton and movements in the cube, everything is OK.
But still my Query is getting wrong values.
Could you help me to find out?
    Thanks,
    Zeynep

    hii
In BW cube does not have the field of Opening stock or closing stock as it works on the function module at the background.
U will get the closing stock in the query designer as the TOTSTOCk field name. Also u have the receipt & issue field there. So u can calculate the Opening Stock figure by using the Formulae & these available fields.
    Thanks
