GCU 10% bonus not received on eligible trade-in

From Aug. 30th, transaction ID (removed per forum guidelines).  Rep did the trade in correctly but system wasn't showing the 10%.  Told them to go ahead and complete it and I'll get compensated through the forums as I've heard is possible.  I'm no longer GCU but I was up until just recently just so you know.

Sorry to hear your Gamers' Club Unlocked benefits might not have been applied properly to your recent trade! As long as your My Best Buy membership information was captured during the transaction, then both the 10% trade-in credit bonus and 2x points should have been awarded at that time.

  • GCU Trade-in bonus not applied

    On Thursday July 31st I traded in Dragon's Crown for the PS3. I was just reviewing the benefits of being an unlocked member and noticed that I did not receive the 10% trade in bonus. The base trade-in value was $10 and I only received $10 credit. While 10% of that is a small amount, I am concerned that my GCU is not working properly as I entered in and confirmed my information in store. Should I be concermed about this?

    Sorry to hear your GCU benefits might not have been properly applied to your recent trade! As long as your My Best Buy membership info was entered at the beginning of the transaction, then both the trade-in credit bonus and bonus points should have been applied automatically.

  • Not receiving 10% bonus on trades

    I just traded in a copy of Shadow of Mordor and even though the employee told me it pulled up my GCU information, I did not receive a 10% bonus in trade. 
    I have the printout with the transaction # with me so I can provide that information if needed.  Please let me know how this can be resolved.

It is however nice to trade in a game when it still holds a higher value.   • Not Receiving Extra 10% for trade in's when I do it in store

    The last time I traded games in, I did not receive the extra 10% trade in credit.  The store's customer service (Christiansburg, VA store) said there was nothing they could do about it and told me to contact Best Buy customer service.  After several hours of being transferred between departments, I finally gave up and got on this website.  I private messaged someone from support here, and they were able to resolve the issue by adding the appropriate points to my account that I should have received plus the extra bonus that I should have received.  I recently traded in a game today and there is still no extra 10% being given to the trade in.  I gave them my phone number and email that the account is tied to, but it still is not showing up in my transaction history and I am not receiving the bonus nor the points that I should have received.  I would like someone to help me get the extra 10% I was due on the trade in ($40 trade in so $4 bonus, plus the points that I should have gotten for it), and I would especially like someone to help me figure out why this store seems incapable of doing the trade-in properly.  The store does not have a dedicated register in the gaming section and trade-ins have to be done at the customer service counter, not sure if this is the problem or not.  I love the prices that BB gives for their trade-in's, but if this issue persists I will have to stop trading in and shopping for my games there because this is getting too frustrating to have to deal wth everytime I trade in games.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    Like radiantbc mentioned, your My Best Buy membership number does need to be scanned/entered in order for Gamers' Club benefits to be applied to any given trade-in. If the three of you have any recent trades where this may not have been done, I'd invite you to send me a private message -- I'd be glad to review them and make sure any applicable trade-in bonuses are properly applied.

  • Email saying trade in not received, but have $200 giftcard.

    I recieved an email from Verizon stating that my $200 gift card had been processed. It also said that they had not received my IPhone 4s which I sent in back in Sept. 22nd via post office. Anyone else get this weird email? Just want to be sure that I am not charged the gift card amount back saying they do not have my traded in Iphone.

I have called the Trade In Support team 877-835-2024 to check status and receive a different response each time I call. 1)it was received and it takes weeks/months to perform analysis on the device 2) you sent it to the wrong address 3) just wait 4) i will 'expedite' your issue.     I wanted to add my voice to the growing chorus of people complaining about VZW's trade in program. i received the exact same excuse for denying the full value of my perfectly good and DEACTIVATED iphone 4s.
    i DID manage to get through to the trade in team, and after explaining the situation, i was told that my problem could be escalated the the tech team. the anonymous trade-in woman transfers me to the normal VZW cust support line... huh?
    i wait again and finally get through. unlike the trade-in woman, the cust support rep immediately identifies himself. willie was as helpful as he was allowed to be, but sadly, that wasn't very much. the trade in people and VZW hold all of the cards.
    THEY say that the de-activation lock wasn't turned off, i say it was.
    there is no way to prove either assertion.
    there is no appeal.
    they just deny, deny, deny, as evidenced by all of the other complaints posted here and elsewhere.
    willie WAS able however, to get me an additional credit for my 'inconvenience'.
    while i genuinely appreciate his effort on my behalf, it doesn't absolve the company from the way they handle the trade-in program, whether it's farmed out to a 3rd party or not.
    i will be filing complaints with the PSC, BBB, and NYS Att'y General.

  • 10% Bonus not applied

    I traded in some games today and I did not receive the 10% bonus for GCU.  I asked the employee doing the trade before it was finalized if the 10% had been applied and I was assured that it was.  However, when I got home and looked over the receipt I noticed that I had not received the 10% bonus so I think that there might be something wrong with my account.  Please help!

  • Didn't receive points for trade in

    Earlier today, I had went to Best Buy and traded in a few games, with my gamers club membership included, however when checking my points balance right now online, I don't seem to see anything reflecting the points for the trade in that I had done.
    Hopefully this could be fixed

    There is a possibility that your My Best Buy™ account was not attached to the trade-in you made back on 2/28/2015, especially if the 10% bonus for being Unlocked was not added to the gift card you received.  As I mentioned above, it can take up to 20 days for points to officially post to a member's account, and we do need to allow a full 20 days before exploring other options.
    If points for that trade-in do not post to your My Best Buy™ account by the end of tomorrow (20th day), then I will respond to the private message that you sent me to see what I can do to further assist.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the little yellow envelope icon located at the top of the page.

  • Have not received 500 pts for Preorder

    I preordered/paid/picked up my order for South Park: The Stick of Truth, but have yet to see the 500 bonus points added to my account.  I have emailed customer service, but have not received a reply.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    If your pre-order of South Park: The Stick of Truth qualified for the "Get $10" promotion, then 500 bonus points should have posted to your My Best Buy™ account within about 20 days.  I used the email address you registered with the forum to review your account history, and from what I can see, it appears you may have pre-ordered the PC version of the game.  Based on the promotion details, PC versions of the eligible gaming titles do not qualify for the bonus points.

  • Did not receive mountain lion redemption code

    In other threads people are comlaining, that their code does not work, however I did not receive any, allthough I definitely should, because I bought my macbook pro 2 weeks ago.

    You are the TOP Tech company of today. Everything is hightech, synced, cool and with no compromise. So let me TRY to understand this one little interestng phenomenon. When I buy a mac online, all the detailed are stored in YOUR system: S/N, date, name, address, my uncle's name, and my dogs breed. Here comes the day when I claim that I am eligible for the redemption code for ML. What do I do? I go to YOUR website, enter my Apple ID, Purchase date and S/N into YOUR system.
    In a normal (note that I did not write ideal) world, the same system is able to compare the data I enter with the data in the system and issue the code in no more than a minute or two. For some reason You guys don't think that comparing few details is such a trivial task and it has to be done OFFLINE (perhaps manually, by looking up dusty folders...?) and then sending out an email up to 72 hours later.
    ML is not going anywhere. It is available now and will be until the next iteration. But for crying out loud, how did you manage to make a complete blunder of such a simple thing as issuing a redemption code?

  • SAP Approvers are not receiving email

    Let me add this information. Some, but not all of the PO and AP email notifications are being delivered to Outlook. For years we have been running a modified version of RSWUWFML2 for Purchase orders and AP invoice approvals with no issues. At the beginning of this month, unbeknownst to us, our HR group scheduled RSWUWFML to run only for HR Appraisal Review notifications. Our job runs once per hour at a quarter past the hour. Their job runs every 20 minutes. Since both jobs update table SWU_WLSCAN, I suspect that our job is only seeing the last 15-20 minutes of work items as being eligible for delivery because RSWUWFML has modified the last run date. Does this sound right? If so, how can they be run together?
