Can anybody give me information about manufacturing metrics used in pharmaceutical industry?

I can't think of an elegant way of combining these formula.
Instead I'd suggest you take the bucket-approach: (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/analysisservices/archive/2014/06/06/bucketing-values-in-dax.aspx).
Therefore you need to create a "lookup-table" that contains all the different ranges per category. No need to link this table.
In addition to the way described in the post, you need to add one additional argument in the Filter Expression: && MetricCategory=MetricCateroy (as you have different bucket definitions per MainCategory).

Multiple network adapters and metric settings

I can't seem to get Windows to use the preferred wired adapter over the wireless. I have set a manual metric value to each adapter and it shows correctly in the route table but that doesn't seem to matter. Its still always defaulting to using
the wireless adapter. I changed the order in the advanced settings on Manage network connections as well but nether seem to work.

My LAN is connected to a router that makes a connection to my office. The wifi is connected to my home wifi.
So if I connected to something in the office and then turn on the wifi i get immediately disconnected and can't get back in until i turn off the wifi. I can also run nslookup and with the wifi turned on it always goes to the wifi router. I use
the wifi to access a shared storage i use with other computers in my house.
At one time this did work with this setup but last week i swapped out my drive for a larger one and re installed windows, hasn't worked since.

As this setup did work at one time, so I think all settings you made is right, according to your description, the issue happened after you reinstall Windows, the system might lose some important updates, I suggest you check for updates, and keep all important
updates. Meanwhile, please reinstsall the network adapter driver as a test, it's recommended to look for the driver in the manufacture website.

Voice Metrics and Radio Measurements

Ok, how do I use these exactly? We're running 4.1.185 on the controllers at the moment and 4.2.81.0 on WCS.
First with the Voice metrics, I get no data on my 7920 and 7921 phones? And with the Radio Measurements if I attempt to use it with a client, any of the options I receive this error "SNMP Operation to the Device Failed: Attempt to set conflicting attribute value" ??

@wquatan - It also doesnt mean that what the user wants is correct and proper. For example, phone is not supposed to be answered in a car without handsfree. In fact this is illegal in some places. So of course, why would they make it easy for the phone to be answered in such a way? Not only is it irresponsible of the manufacturer to do so, but dangerous as well for the people on the street.
In the case of allowing the user to change music volume when navigating, I think its right that navigation take precedence since its the more important function which is running at the moment.
Also, I second the opinion that musc+navigation+driving is a BAD combination.

Scenario for Discrete Manufacturing..

Dear All,
Our client imports goods and then packages them at their site into different packages and boxes. After that those products are dispatched. The client wants to keep an eye on the status of packaging and for that they require a Manufacturing module.
Can Process Manufacturing be implemented for this scenario or Discreet Manufacturing will be a better option?

It basically boils down to how you track the status of your work orders, generally if you want to segregate by order then Discrete manufacturing is better, if you want to segregate by operational metrics in your plant irrespective of the number of goods you import then flow manufacturing is better.

Manufacturing application in J2EE

We are building a web based application to support manufacturing (Shop floor control) for one of our customers.
Can you suggest ideas on the following topics?
1)For cost reasons Client has chosen JBoss as application server.
Will JBoss be handle 500-600 concurrent users? Since it is manufacturing application the performance is of prime importance. Will the application built with JBoss responsive enough to support a manufacturing assembly line?
2)Interface to Scanner
Scanner is used for all the data input. How we can recognize end of input and submit the form automatically? (Comma denotes end of input)
3)There are some features which need auto refresh of the screen continuously.
Production department continuously monitors achievements, pending transactions etc. The screen should get refreshed automatically. How can we achieve this?

assembly line?There's no way to know if it'll be "responsive enough". You'll need metrics to define what that means. It'll depend on your hardware and network, of course. The only way to tell will be to prototype and benchmark.
Frankly, I'm surprised that you're being given carte blanch to develop a system like this. If your bosses are so cost-conscious that they have to go with JBoss (do buy the support contract or you'll be adrift on a sea alone), have they considered "buy vs. build" comparisons? Your staff might be "cheap" because they've already got you in the budget, but your time does cost something.
Are you sure you have sufficient staff and expertise to do this? How many folks will be working on this project?
How firm are the written requirements/use cases? (You DO have written requirements, right?)

Thought about touch screens instead of paper? Scanning paper on a shop floor might be error-prone (e.g., oil or grease on sheets, etc.)

this?That's not the way HTTP works. It's a stateless, request/response protocol - a user makes a request and gets the refreshed response back. The "screen", in that case, will be a browser. But there's no "push" naturally built into HTTP. You'll need to research something special to do that.
Since all of this sounds like it will be running inside your firewall on your intranet, Swing might be a better choice. If you design the application correctly you can have a Model updated periodically.
Does everyone see exactly the same data? Have you considered the network traffic that you'll incur with this periodic update? How often do you need to refresh? Once every minute, five minutes, 15 minutes? Or just when clients update the data?
I'd find it hard to believe that there's nothing commercially available that could do this for you. If I were running your company, I'd at least look into it.

Not sure what you guys are doing there.
The block diagram suggestion was very good.
Here's what we did.
Remove manufacturing entirely from supply chain and 3rd party it all. some 3rd parties make components, other assemble sub assembly's, other assemble finsihed goods (value chain). The parent company provides all the supply chain planning, and build schedules to each segement of the manufacturing chain. Even the transportation logistics to each 3rd party and ultimately to the vendors warehouse is planned by the parent company.
This standardizes costs (through contract negotiation), allows for volume discount on ordering (for all 3 rd partys), easier single source of raw materials (transportation logistics becomes a little complicated). Manufacturing becomes a fixed cost (negotiated seperately with each phase of the product creation). APO Planning, supply chain management, and supplier relationship management are the parent company's contribution to building the products. CRM and on-time delivery become very critical to the parent company. (SCM, SRM and CRM become parent company core cmpentencies).
metrics and contract performance grade trhe quality of any 3rd party vendor in the value chain (3rd party manufacturers become 'captive' partners, rarely are they substituted). Typically a score card method or dashboard method.
That's the basic version.

Can not refresh the metrics in schedular

Hi,
When I refresh the metric using schedular, the metric is not refreshed , nor schedular return any error. But when checked in metrics proparties, the last refresh date is not changed, niether the values are updated.
Whe I try to refresh the metric manual, the values are refresh.
Please help me to troubleshoot the problem of refreshing metric through schedular.

Scheduler is pretty horrid for refreshing metrics.Better of to use the Rules engine and create a rule thats based on a schedule that based on condition (1=1 works well ) then refreshes metircs.troubleshooting is best done with the trace options in setup/parameters.there are a few other ways or seeing what the schedulers up to - but id stick to rules if i were you.

Campaign Metrics - # Bounces Switched?

Hi -
We have sent out several campaigns and are now reporting on them.
The metrics seem to be mixed up on the subject area.
The campaign was sent out 2/3/2011
The receipent data on the campaign object shows delivery status of 8 hard bounces and 1 soft bounce as of 2/7/2011
The dates are important since the report is 24 hours delayed......
When we run our report using metrics from the Campaign Response History subject area - no formulas, just pulling Metrics."# of Soft Bounces and Metrics."# of Hard Bounces"
the results are SWITCHED. I have tried to change teh aggregation rule from default to sum, just to check. No pivot tables are being used...just straight values.
Does anyone know if this is really a bug or what else might be happening??

We have a scenario where we need to manufacture Industrial Machine in a Batch Size of 10 nos . These machines have multi level BOM and total manufacturing cycle time is approx 3 months .

At present , we have been manufacturing these Machines on individual basis ( It means MRP run is done for individual machne and production orders generated are also on individual machine manufacturing basis) .

Dear ,
Please use the following functionality in your case :
1.If you are particualr to have 10 pc in each batch qty then keep the Lot Size as Fixed Lot Sixe -FX with Fixed lot size qty as 10 in material master MRP1 view .
2.As your approximate manufacturing cycle is 3 motnhs , then you can have MRP run once three months for FG and plan your dependent accordingly through MRP .
3.If you are following MTS cycle , then create demand in MD61 or you can create direct Sales Order in VA01 for MTO process
4.Run MRP with NETCH ,1,1.3,3,2 , planned order with FG qty 10 pc will be generated and you can convert them into Production Order in MD04-Planned order-convert to PO

MIXING ORIGINAL APPLE MEMORY WITH MEMORY FROM ANOTHER MANUFACTURER

Hi everyone,
I'm about to hop on the mac train and buy a macbook 2.16GHz( the recent previous black model)
It's coming with 1GB of memory and I wanted to buy 2GB to add to it. I found a good deal for a OWC 2GB DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz DIMM(it's one stick of 2GB).
Is it compatible to mix different memory makes and if so, is it also optimal? Would the optimizing power be the same if I used all the memory from one manufacturer or it makes no difference? Thanks.

I remember there was this supposed IT guy who claimed that different brands of memory "fight it out". Some of the answers were absolutely hilarious. I have an iBook G4 1.42. For two+ years I've been running the permanent Samsung memory with a 1 GB Micron PC2700 module. I've never encountered anything that suggests that there is a problem with it.
I've also read the Intel specs on what the chipset does with memory sized identically. Apparently it can do that very same thing (memory interleaving) even if the sizes aren't matched. However - it'll only do that for up to the size of the smaller module, and the remainder of the larger module isn't interleaved.

How to change default thresholds for some metrics of all targets.

We have a lot of servers which have to work hard.
So, our OEM very often generates messages like these:
"EM Alert: Critical:dbsora90.tsb.kz - CPU Utilization is 99.95%, crossed warning (80) or critical (95) threshold."
"EM Alert: Critical:dbsora94.tsb.kz - Disk Device c8t60A9800043346C384C344A4A63516D6Ad0(ssd4) is 99.7% busy."
"EM Alert: Critical:dbsora94.tsb.kz - CPU Load (Run Queue Length averaged over 5 minutes) is 20.78, crossed warning (10) or critical (20) threshold."
I need to change default tresholds for mentioned metrics but I can't their defenition in SYSMAN.MGMT_*-tables or suitable settings in OEM GUI.
And I have no time to edit treshholds manually for each target. )

Modification of Metric Thresholds (as this is what you are referring to), should be done using the Metrics and Policy Settings link (to be found in the Target Home page).
Don't mess around with the SYSMAN tables!
Best thing to do here is to start using Monitoring Templates for this.

Can i use seagate goflex 3tb external hard drive for 2010 27" imac internal hard drive replacment if i take it out of the goflex case.do i need to format it before installation due to it allready having goflex software on it from manufacturer.

i have 3tb seagate goflex external hard drive.its brand new in package.i took it out of case and deleted partitions that were created by manufacturer.so now i have 2800 gigs.its formatted ntfs.will it work for late 2010 27" imac internal hard drive replacement.i found a apple repair place that will charge me 50$ to swap drives for me assuming i have the drive.i will have to install leopard myself at this price.i dont want to have to pay for anything other than the swap.will this hard drive work with this format or do i need to format it differently.
