My new iPhone 4S can't connect to iTunes, App Store or iBooks via Wi-Fi. Works with 3G network. How to fix this?

My new iPhone 4S (week old) can't connect to iTunes, App Store or iBooks via Wi-Fi (and some other apps e.g. Hollister – but most of the other apps like Safari or ebay work fine). There is no problem with those apps loading via 3G network. When I turn off the wi-fi, it runs over 3G and i can access App store without any problem. When i turn off the 3G network and turn the Wi-Fi on, those apps like App Store won't work, other apps work fine. When i turn on both Wi-Fi and 3G, the App store (and so on) is also not working, other apps are.
I also found out that when the Wi-fi is on and I sign out my apple ID, the App store starts working! But when I log in again, it will imediatelly stop working. I've tried logging in with others apple IDs, still with the same result. There is no problem with my apple ID account, because it works on my iPad, even via Wi-Fi.
When i first set up my iPhone, there were no complications using App store ia Wi-fi with exactly the same account. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but this problem started when i logged in with my UK account and then wanted to log back in with my Czech account.
I tried turning it off, hard reset and deleting my iPhone several time (even without back up). Nothing worked since then.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
I would really appreciate ANY help. This porblem is driving me crazy!

    I'm in need of some help!  I purchased an iphone 5s and i am giving my old iphone 4 to my son to use for games (wifi only). The iphone 4 has been reset and has the latest updated software installed. When i try to download games to it, it says can't connect to app store and the same for the itunes store.  My iphone 5s can connect fine, as well as my ipad, both using wifi.  I've tried to connect the iphone 4 to the pc and itunes says the same thing, i've also tried it on 2 other pc with the same result.  It says can't verify the identity of the server buy.itunes.apple.com, then we could not complete your itunes store request an unknown error has occured -9808 when i try to sign in to itunes.
    Any help would greatly be appreciated!

    Just try to turn off your IPhone and Restart it again and see if it help.
    Because that's what i did and it worked! =D
    Don't know why it requires to do so but by giving a try wouldn't hurt. xDDD

    New iphone 5 can't connect to itunes store.  No other error, password is correct.

    I just upgraded to an iPhone 5 and I restored my phone from my computer.  I was going to update my apps and I couldn't connect to the App Store. I tried signing out and signing back in but it wouldn't let me sign in again. I also tried setting the date a year ahead and signing in then set it back to automatically and tried signing in with no luck. I would like to be able to access the App Store but everything I've tried has failed. Is there some way this issue can be resolved?
    Also A good number of apps that I had on my iPhone 4 were missing after I restored my iPhone 5. I backed up my iPhone 4 on my computer before I got the iPhone and I know those apps were backed up but they didn't get restored.

  • Brand New iPhone 3G can't connect to iTunes (0xe8000001 error)

    Hi - I just got a new iPhone 3G on Saturday (09/06/08) and I haven't been able to connect it at all to my iTunes on my home computer (The dreaded '0xE8000001' error keeps popping up!). I even went and bought a USB 2.0 PCI card and installed it thinking that the internal USB 1.0 was the problem.
    When I plug in the iPhone, it launches iPhoto (even when I plug it into the USB 1.1) so I know it recognizes it. I have re-started the iPhone, installed iTunes 8 and even tried creating the Lockdown folder in my Library (mentioned in another thread) and I'm not having any luck.
    ANY help at this point would be much appreciated.

    Well, this is gonna sound really asinine but I have been connecting the iPhone to my computer AFTER I launch iTunes. So just for the heck of it, I quit iTunes and then connected my iPhone and lo and behold, it worked! Totally insane.
    Hopefully, this may help others that are experiencing the same problem.

I have owned 4 iphones and never had a problem with connecting to iphones and restoreing to a backup.

    It does not use SD cards.
    Fake iphones are really Android phones using the skin of iOS6.
    Click on the App Store icon. If it takes you to Apple's App Store, then it's a real iPhone.
    But if you are directed to Google Play, then I'm afraid you've gotten a copy.

    In that case, it should be possible. I haven't tried this directly, but I believe it should work.
    You'll need to get an actual AirPrint compatible Printer.
    Check here for a list of Printers you can choose from.

    Once you have the compatible printer, using the Hotspot feature from the iPhone he'll have to create the Wifi bubble form the iPhone, and connect the Printer to that Wifi network.
    Then connect the iPad to that same Wifi network provided by the iPhone. When all that is done, the printer should appear in any of the Apps that can Print under the Action Arrow button.
    For instance in email, pressing the action arrow should show a Print option. In there the printer should appear.
    Alternatively you can simply buy a wireless router and setup the network through there even if there is no internet attached.  Connect the wireless printer to the router network, and connect the iPad or iPhone to that same wifi network to print.

    Come on guys.  Help me out.  When I click on the app store icon, it'll just go to a blank screen.  The only time there is anything on the screen is under the updates tab.  Then it just says no updates found.  I can not browse apps or search for them.  It just goes to blank screen

    Any update will cause problems for a few users. And those users will rush here and post "the sky is falling" stories about their experience. The 99.99% of people who have no problems after an update won't bother to post here; indeed, most of them don't even know ASC exists. FWIW, I had no problems with iOS 7 on my 4S. Your problem is most likely not related to iOS 6, but you should probably update anyway.     While you could create a new ID without a credit card by following the steps in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534, I would recommend you first try contacting Apple support to find out what you can do to use your existing Apple ID without using a credit card (if it didn't have one before).  You can set up a call with them by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click iTunes>iTunes Store>Purchases, Billing & Redemption>How to recover missing purchased items.  The call will be free but you will need your serial number, which you can find in Settings>General>About.  Alternatively, you can contact iTunes store support by email here: https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

  • Since upgrading to yosemite, I can't connect to the app store (or icloud).

    I have a Macbook air, early 2014.
    Since upgrading to Yosemite, can't connect to the App Store (Message: Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance. ) or to iCloud ( You can’t sign in at this time. Try signing in again.).
    I have another Macbook air (late 2013)  running mavericks that is connecting without any problem. I can also login in two different iPads (iOS 8), one iPhone (iOS 8) and in icloud.com.
    Have spent more than one hour with support on the phone. Tried safe boot, login with a different apple id, reseting pram,  running disk utility... No success.
    I could upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.1 by restarting without the need to insert the apple id, so I am with the latest version running. Still no success.
    Any ideas ?

    If you haven't already done so, please connect to a different network, such as a public hotspot, and test. Otherwise, see below.
    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

    I understand all of this Meg; that is why I bought an Iphone; but never expected my phone not even give a at least a 24 or even 12 hours....I work 12 hour shifts and also would expect to have to charge each night but not twice a day or more.  I am not always somewhere I can charge my phone.
