New user request screen problems

HI all,
I am trying to use the funcitonalty where a new portal user clicks on "Register now" screen, it sends a message to the portal admin (which comes in "User administration->Users->New user requests") and the portal admin approves it and then creates the user.
But this is not working for me. I try to create the new user from the register screen, it gives a blank screen (as no roles are assigned to this user) and it does not send mail to the admin.
Please let me know if I need to do any configuration for this to work. This would be of great help for me.

Hi Narahari,
For the user self registration to work you need to have companies enabled. The reason this the user sees no role attached as since the administrator has not accepted the user request the user is still a guest user. You need to enable the same. Forcing users to select existing properties in New User Request form

Hi,
We have just started using Service Manager and Orchestrator. So far we have successfully managed to create user accounts using orchestrator and service manager. Now we want to start forcing users to utilise the information we already have in
our existing Active Directory environment.
So for example, in the new user request form we want users to select an existing "office" using the attributes already in Active Directory as opposed to allowing them to type in an office and potentially accidentally misspelling the office name.
What we would like to see is a unique list of offices and a user to select
How can this be achieved? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if you don't want to create a list manually, create a sealed management pack that defines the root of the new enumerator. Then create a workflow that will pull all users from AD, build the list of the locations used in AD and update the child enumerators
if required.

CUP 5.3 - Single Sign On fu00FCr end user request screen?

Hi everyone,
Is there any way to achieve Single Sign On in a windows environment using the corporate Active Directory for the END USER REQUEST SCREEN in CUP 5.3?
I am aware of the document "Single Sign-On with SAP BusinessObjects Access Control 5.3" by the SAP GRC RIG (Harleen Kaur) so I know how to achieve Single Sign On for the CUP application itself.
I am also aware of the option to deactivate "end user verification required" in the authentication source definition in CUP.
What our end users are asking for is true single sign on. They would like to enter a request WITHOUT providing network user ID and/or password manually.

We have not yet configured SSO but are in the phase of analyzing our options.
I understood that SSO is only possible for the server:port//AE/index_apr.jsp page in CUP.
What about the end user request screen (server:port/AE)? Will this work with Windows-SSO using SPNEGO? Would I set the authentication source to LDAP or to UME (UME has multiple LDAP as user data source)?

Customizing labels in end user request screen

Hello everyone,
Is it at all possible to customize the labels for various languages in the end user request screen?
I would have assumed those labels were maintained in the "initial system data" files, but they are not.
Specifically, we are trying to change the label "User ID" to "SAP User ID" to make it clear for our end users which user ID this field refers to.

It is not possible to change the filed label name. However, in GRC 10 I infer that End User Personalization (EUP) templates are available that allows you to customize.

New User Request cannot be submitted in GRC AC 10

Hello Gurus,
We have configured GRC AC 10 along with workflows and for all scenarios things are working fine , except for "New User".
When we select
Request Type : New Request
Request for: Others
User : XYZ (This user is not present in "HR system(ERP system)", which is our data source for User search, user details & authentication)
and we select certain roles to be assigned to the user.
Then when we click "Submit Button" , it gives us an error , XYZ is not a valid User
In SPRO under CUP --> Maintain Provisioning Settings
For Global Provisioning under
"Create User if does not exist"
i have selected both "check boxes" for
1) For Change User Action
2) For Assign Role Action
Also in System Provisioning, i have ticket the option "create User".
Note: Under Data Source Configuration i have selected "End User Verification" as Yes.
Will you please provide your inputs on what could be the reason for getting this error .

New User Account, scanner problems

Set up a new account on our eMac for a new employee. Her account is the only other account besides mine (Administrator). Our Cannon CanoScan N676U scanner is not communicating with new user's account. Launch Photoshop, it loads, click File, Import, Canoscan 7.0.1X, and receive error message that cannot communicate with scanner, scanner may be unplugged, check connection. I log into my administrator account and no problems. I've deleted her account, set-up a new one (giving her administrator rights) and the same issue occurs.
I've been in contact with Cannon, and have verified and repaired Disk Permissions. I don't know what to do? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

User-defined screen problem

I just wanna ask regarding on how to terminate or to exit the user-defined screen that i call out? i use SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 100 and call it up using CALL SELECTION-SCREEN 100 when i choose the option completed transaction that i declare in my screen but when i press the CANCEL button in my screen 100 that i call out, it retrieve the data still and display the output which is supposedly it will back on the first or main screen. And what is the format of the standard output when i print it? i mean is it .DOC or PDF file? Can anyone help me plz....

New Macbook Blue Screen problem.. Help.

I have a problem with my mac. Whenever I turn it on, it loads up as usual, and then it shows a gray screen with an apple, loading, (yeah, the usual stuff). THEN, all of a sudden, there would be a light blue screen that would stay for about 3 seconds, then a darker blue screen, then it would load to my background and load successfully.
I don't like the blue screens. I did not have this problem before... whats up with this? I need help removing it!
I think it started when I created a partition on Boot Camp for windows. I was so frustrated I even deleted that partition, hoping the blue screen would go away. Nope, it did not. Does anyone have a solution?

Answer: Live with it, it's normal for the Leopard startup process. Remember the startup screen under Tiger with the progress bar? Apple ditched it with Leopard because (on newer, faster Macs) the boot time is much shorter overall.
Coupla Questions:
You repartitioned your HD to use BootCamp. See whether your HD is the same size it was before you tried BootCamp. If not, try resizing it back to full size using Disk Utility with your Install DVD. Any help?
Have you considered backing up your stuff to a DVD, and then re-installing Leopard from the DVD, to restore to factory-fresh settings?
There's one more thing you might try to relieve the boredom every time you start up: enjoy Verbose Mode! See this article:

There is actually a way to make your Mac boot in Verbose Mode all the time. But it's kinda geeky.
The real solution though, is not bothering to restart your new MacBrick, er, Book. Apple has perfected (IMHO) sleep technology on these machines, so why bother? Even a power loss while a Mac is asleep isn't a problem:

Creating a new user request from the user menu

I have a menu item that calls a process to create a request for a new account (contractor/applicationID). I have the request form and workflow working, however, IDM uses the requestors context to create the request. How do I open the new view in the form and clear the requestor's user context out of the way?
What I mean is when the form appears, if I select a resource, the attribute fields all appear with the requestors data filled in. The process I'm calling has a built-in form preceeding the workflow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

New User - Wireless Internet Problem

Hello all.
I'm a brand new Mac user but I am becoming extremely frustrated with connecting my Mac Mini to my existing wireless network. I have WEP enabled and I know for a fact that I'm using the correct password. Just to be sure, I disabled the password function. My Mac Mini sees my home network but will not connect to it. The only error I get is "There was an error joining the AirPort network "WirelessHome"." Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Which wireless router do you have?
Some 802.11b access points require a firmware upgrade before 802.11g (Extreme) clients can connect.
Though 802.11g is backward compatible with 802.11b some older access points were developed before 802.11g and therefore are not in a position to allow the 802.11g clients to connect.
Check the vendor site for a firmware upgrade for your wireless gateway.
Note that you can attempt to persuade an Airport Extreme client to operate in 802.11b mode.
Hold down the control key [ctrl] when selecting the network from the menu.

A VERY DISCONTENTED S1 user with screen problem

my faith and hope on sony has been running thinner very passing day since not only my tablet is VERY OUTDATED in terms of OS but also im experiencing random clicks on my lower buttons specifically home, return and recent apps button. It renders my tablet VERY USELESS. I hoped that the recent update on sony home would have solved the problem but still it persisted even now. SONY please if you do really care for your customers as it provides you income take a step having sony to consumer interaction rather than giving us a silent back few days from now i might become a very disrespectful sony tablet s user since im VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH YOU.

New User Request Provisoned Before Final Stage.

Hi,
We have a four stage workflow
Manager>Security>Role Owner and BO(Business Owner).
I found a request where it got auto proviosned at Role owner stage(user created roles assinged) and still displaying open status at BO.
I have checked the option Auto Provision Type which is at the end of the request.
Request took six days to get provisioned after it was approved at Role Owner stage.The only other thing i can see related to this is we have created service level of 6 days with type formula.Does SL has any relation to this.

Migrating but to new user account - permissions problems?

Hi guys,
I have a new iMac, and want to move all my old files (not apps - yet) to my new machine.
I'd like to start fresh as much as possible and would like to split my old files and email accounts into three separate accounts on the new machine - Home account / Business account & the wife's Business account!
By copying the relevant mail folders from the old "home" account to a new account on the new machine, I know I'm going to have permissions problems. And it'll be the same I guess for all the other docs and files which will be moved to the other accounts?
How do I get around this?

New GE60 2PE Screen problem

Hi people
Got my brand new MSI GE60 2PE yesterday. Switched it on after charge yesterday and noticed intermittent black line across the display that flashes and goes away. its in different locations each time and happens even in the BIOS.
This is highly annoying getting a defective product.
Any advice?

Can you share a picture of the black line and also the graphics driver version and Video BIOS version?
(You can find the driver and Video BIOS version in NVIDIA control panel: Right click on the desktop> NVIDIA Control Panel> System Information at the bottom right corner> driver version + video bios version)
