Personnel subarea inheritance issue
Hi,
not sure if this is an abap or functional question, so I started here.
I have a report using Logical Database PNPCE to find some values from a couple of info types. When I select a unit (from the 'OrgStructure' button at the top of the screen), say 111, and all its sub-units with no selections in the selection screen, I get one person displayed. This is correct and this person is in a sub-unit 3 levels down (unit 333).
I then added a selection to only display people in units with Personnel SubArea 'OTEC'. Now I get no results output. When I look in PPOME, I can see that unit 333 has Personnel SubArea 'OTEC' but it is inherited from '111'.
In PP01, unit 111 has an Account Assignment entry (Info Type 1008) but 333 does not.
Does anyone know how to report on this?
Is there a flag somewhere that tells the LDB to check for inherited units?
If not, any ideas if there is a function out there to find the superior unit for these sub-units?

We are facing the issue in PPOME Account Assignment tab.
Whenever if we assign the personnel Area, the personnel sub area also filled with Personnel area instead of taking the corresponding PA's PSA.

Personnel subarea & Appraisal issue
Dear all,
Point No: 1
Generally all the customers/clients code is maintained by the SD module in the table KNA1 with field name KUNNR. In HR all the customers/clients code is maintained in the table T001P, with field name BTRTL.
In HR we will assign each employee to the respective customer/client, where he is working with the client-(with infotype 0001 as personnel subrea).
But my client is telling that they want to refer the client code which is created in the SD module instead of assigning to the client code in HR module, they feel it is duplication of work.
I know there is a way to link my HR module employee to SD module client through infotype 0900, but the problem what I am facing is , If I link in this way, it is not allowing me to take std different reports based the client as my client is not maintained in HR Module.
Point No: 2
The infotype 0025 is used for the performance appraisal, where I have to type the Appraiser Name for each employee. Is there any solution to maintain my entire appraiser name with their designation separately as master, so that I can link my appraiser with their respective subordinates, who are all coming under his supervision?
It is better to have 100 appraisers to link with 1000 employees rather than in a vice versa. Can any body give me the solution?

Change of personnel subarea results in change of legal person
Hi Experts.
I have search in this forum after answer on this question, but haven't find any.
To start with, we have implemented CE.
My problem is that if we have hired a person on wrong date and want to change the date to an earlier date, infotype 0000 is OK, but infotype 0001 will not be changed.
The error message says: Change of personnel subarea results in change of legal person.
I have checked the table V_001P_G and it seems to be right. I can't find any fault.
I have tried all other suggestions I have found in this forum such as, Change and Execute info group when running Change entry/leaving date in PA30. Executing the programs RPUFIXDS and RPUP0001 with negative result.
So if there is anyone who can explain to me what this error message actually means, and of course have a solution, I would be really happy.

Apply the following note,
1487263 - transaction PA41 error message is displayed in IT00
after implementing, Kindly use transaction PA41.
The 'Correct action' function (PA41) offers a special functionality for
hiring and termination events only: When changing the begin date of
the event the begin date of all infotype records belonging to the
infogroup assigned will be shifted accordingly.

I processed the issue. Actually I only need access Enterprise Structure in IMG. Check again in part Assignment --> Human Resources Management --> Assignment of Personnel Area to Company Code.

Personnel Subarea groupings for a multiple country system
We have more than 70 countries in our SAP system and more coming to be rolled out. We mainly use the HR funtionality for time recording. So, for the configuration of personnel subarea groupings in Time Recording we used the country grouping: e.g. Singapore Molga = 25, MOABW = 25, MOVER = 25, etc. For the 'SAP-countries (countries for which SAP has a template) we use MOLGA as personnel subarea grouping, for the NON-SAP countries (countries for which SAP has no template) we use a 2 digit number downwards from 98. Now we are running out of 'numbers'.
Has anybody similar problems and can you please share with me possible solutions?

Several other possibilities exist for the grouping (not only PSG),
for example :
A) the "Employee subgroup grouping for time quotas" (ESG)
which is a char1 field (so you can use many more then the ones you
use at the moment)
B) field "Quota type selection group" (Quomo), from the documentation
of this field in V_T559L:
"Quota type selection rule group
You can use the quota type selection rule group to control absence
quota type selection based on the employee's organizational assignment.
Using different quota type selection rule groups, you can set specific
rules for quota generation.
Use
Quota generation is carried out in the schema using function QUOTA.
There are three ways of setting the quota type selection rule group:
1. Using function MOD in the time evaluation schema
Function MOD calls a personnel calculation rule that has been modified
to suit the respective schema (for example, XMOD, MODT, or TMOD). The
employee subgroup grouping for personnel calculation rules is queried
in the rule using operation PAYTP. Using operation MODIF Q=xx,
you can determine (for ach grouping) which quota type selection rule
group shoulde be used in time evaluation to access the entries
for the relevant employees in the Leave Accrual table.
2. Using a personnel calculation rule you have written yourself in the
time evaluation schema
In this case, you also set the quota type selection rule group using
operation MODIF Q=xx.
3. Using feature QUOMO
You can use the feature to set the quota type selection rule group based
on other organizational assignments. It is queried by the system during
time evaluation."
As your main issue seems to be the use of several different quota
requirements, you can define, via the use of field QUOMO in V_T559L,
for quota type 10 (just as an example) several different generation
rules (one for each Quomo).
Please note that quota 10 does not need to be always generated in the
same way, it can have a different generation rule for each key
combination of V_T559L.
The most flexible way to select which quomo should be used is via the
feature QUOMO. There you will have the following decision fields

BTRTL Personnel Subarea
PERSG Employee Group
PERSK Employee Subgroup
MOLGA Country Grouping
MOURA Personnel Subarea Grouping for Leave Types

Copy, delete, check personnel subarea and Number ranges
Hi All,
I am creating a new personnel subarea using copy the personnel subarea in enterprise structure definition.
(Copy, delete, check personnel subarea)
While doing this I am getting prompt about number ranges over writing issue.
It seems that number ranges in production system may get affected due to this transport.
So I am planning to note all the available number ranges in production system before transport and reset similar as earlier after the transport directly in production
OR
set number ranges in development similar in production then to transport to production.
Please comment on the above approach.
I am planning to check on the following number ranges only
Tcodes u2013OONR ( for OM) and PA04 (for PA)
Can you suggest in case if any other number ranges to be taken care?

below is the scenario at present
personnel subarea for employee in april was as 1111.
personnel subarea for that employee in MAY IS 1120
that is one employee changed from personnel subarea 1111 to 1120 in HR - MODULE R/3
In BI still he showing in personnel subarea 1111 only
How to get changed this employyye form personnel subarea 1111 to 1120 where as PERSONNEL AREA IS SAME

Hi experts,
I just enrolled the course SAP HR module and hope you won't think my questions too stupid.
I tried to create my personnel subareas from SPRO's enterprise structure. This was what I wanted to do:
Personnel area: 0000
Personnel subarea: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 (all under personnel area 0000)
However, I kept getting an error message: "01 doesn't not exist in (check entry)" when I tried to create personnel subarea 01.
Do you know what was the problem and how should I fix it? Thanks in advance.

Are these defined in V_T001P
Before you can use the HR system the way you want to you have to ensure the IMG (SAP Implementation
Guide - transaction SPRO) is completed
It is possible one of the IMG steps will require you to check or update V_T001P

Based on that and your organization set up you should be able to chalk out the personnel structure.

HR: Mass Update Personnel subareas

I wanted to know if there is a way to mass update the personnel subareas for all the personnel areas in HR. I know that we can maintain the personnel sub areas in SPRO but doing this manually is going to be very time consuming since we have lots of data to update. Is there any other way, any BAPI I can use, Any transaction i can create an LSMW of.

Incorrect combinations for personnel area and personnel subare

we are getting incorrect combinations for personnel area and personnel subarea in the Target and as well in report.
we are using standard datasources 0PERS_AREA_TEXT and 0PERS_SAREA_TEXT, we are extracting only masterdata text from ECC, Not maintaining Attibute and Hierarchy for personnel area and personnel subarea.
we created (Actions overview) report on top of standard DSO 0PA_DS12 extracted from data source 0HR_PA_1,
Actually some of employees are changed on xxxx.xx.xx date from one personnel area to another personnel area with respective subarea's, but here employee personnel area are coming correctly but not for subarea.
what i need to do now?
can any one help out in this..

In this context we will have two senarios.
1. Displaying the Personal Area and Personal Sub Area from Transactional data.
2. Displaying from Master Data.
If you choose Scenario 1 then, Personal Area and Personal Sub Area will be shown as per ECC entry. But in second scenario, If one Personal area or Personal Sub Area changed over a period of time that will effect the historical data also.
For Example if your Personal Sub Area changed on Apr 1, 2011.
Scenario 1: Report will be as per ECC Data ( from Apr 1, 2011 onwards it will show new Personal Sub Area).
Scenario 2: Report will show new Personal Sub Area of Personal Area for entire data.

Authorization based on personnel subarea

I have to set up an authorization for my HR users restricted upon their location of work. I have set up personnel subarea for the same. However, am not able to find the personnel subarea object in the profile generator screen for the role.

I want to set up an authorization for user to only be able to access Plants -> Panoli data

Link selectors and inheritance issue
On playing with simple navigation elements, (2) in total, I find an inheritance issue I do not understand.
The ul, ol declarations in Boilerplate not being ignored, or overruled, by the css settings that I want for styles, which I had thought carried more weight?
I was surprised when Boilerplate “lists” selector ul and ol declarations were impacting in this way.
My intention was to use Boilerplate link selectors for bottom “footer” nav menu, and style sheet selectors for the top horizontal menu.

To clarify, or expand, on my query; Knocking out the Boilerplate padding of 40px in ul, ol selector is what I want to happen. I want the top menu to be entirely directed by the external css, while allowing Boilerplate selectors for future in the lower, or footer, nav links to come.
My goal is to have a minimal menu selection at top, than at bottom, in footer, a site map sort of simple links. Stripping it (index.html) down to a minimal footprint to gain as lean and fast loading a page as possible.
This 40px seems to be affecting my ability to center the menu within the top menu (div element "nav") When I disable that declaration, I can see the menu (dw design split/view) correct to left 40px. Funny thing is, with "layout box model" checked under "visual aids," I can no longer actually see the padding on hover. I could prior, so something I've done led to that.
Thus, the visual shift on "disable" of the Boilerplate padding declaration tells me the Boilerplate continues to affect that which I actually want to control with external css.
Apologies if I present contextual information poorly here; I may just clear and create again, but would like to actually understand how I got here on this particular issue. -
Group Personnel Subarea for Work Schedule

I am learning SAP HCM ECC 6.0 at the moment, I have created Personnel Area, Personnel Subarea however when I am trying to u201CGroup Personnel Subarea for Work Scheduleu201D the newly created Personnel Areas and Personnel Subarea are not appearing the list to group them for work schedule.
No such problem persist while Defining employee subgroup under work schedule rules and work schedule in IMG.
Experts could you please suggest me the solution to this problem? Is there any integration missing?

The problem is been resolved by editing in Table "V_T500P" (Country grouping), now newly created PAs and PSAs are appearing in the list and I can "Group personnel subarea for work schedule"
I did the the basic configuration of PAs, PSAs, EG, ESG and I assigned them to company code however PAs and PSAs were not appearing in the list to group them for Work Schedule. The problem is been resolved now by editing in Table.
I really appreciate your help here.
