RVO42G VPN Error - The Remote Gateway is Not Responding. Do you want to wait?

I have followed the instructions @
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-29399, but continue to receive the error message The remote gateway is not responding.  Do you want to wait?
According to the RV042G, it shows the connection was made and the status is set to "online" for the user, but choosing to wait does not connect and the error returns eventually requiring you to select "no" to waiting.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for reaching out Abhishek.
I am trying to setup a Client to Gateway VPN so I can utilize the 50 available tunnels.  I have setup a Group VPN with user accounts associated with it.  I have installed the Cisco QuickVPN client on Windows 7 and Windows 8 clients and have attempted to login.  I have followed the instructions that Cisco posted @ https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-29399, but cannot connect a remote client successfully.  I recieve the error:
The remote gateway is not responding.  Do you want to wait?
Looking at the VPN log on the RV042G, I see:
Jun 26 11:27:45 2013    VPN Log (qknips0): deleting connection
Jun 26 11:26:51 2013    VPN Log loading secrets from '/etc/ipsec.d/ipsec.secrets'
Jun 26 11:26:51 2013    VPN Log forgetting secrets

Jun 26 11:25:41 2013    VPN Log added connection description (grpips0)
Jun 26 11:25:41 2013    VPN Log (grpips0): deleting connection
I don't know what else to do to get the QuickVPN client working so I can take advantage of the VPN service and 50 tunnels.
Thanks.

I've tried the most common stuff.
Enabling ICMP, checked that remote administration runs on port 443, changed MTU to 1400 manually, It allows fragmented packages too.
Checked that IKE and IPSec services are running.
I've also tried both with windows firewall ON and OFF.
A collegue of mine had the same problem in the same timeframe as me, but after a while - he suddently was able to connect.
    I still can't!!
    Firmware Version:        1.0.2.4
Anyone got a fix for this?
    Edit: IP is not real.

Ok, so I had a chat with Cisco - and it seems like the setup on the RV220W was done correctly and was working fine.
Showed me a few things that could come in handy checking out when running diag on the quickvpn.
I disabled all antivirus realtime checks, opened 443 and 500 inbound to my computer - checked that the QuickVPN.exe had an exception in the windows firewall, and that the firewall was enabled.
Also checked that the services was set tu Auto and Started.
Rebooted computer, and I was able to connect!
Now I'm working my way back to the setup I had, to figure out what went wrong in the first place.

  • We've encountered the following issues: The remote server is not responding in a proper manner

I have never downloaded Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite/Photoshop basically anything for myself before and have just bought the Creative suite (£15.88/month) and am trying to install it to my computer (Windows 8). I have downloaded the Creative Cloud Set-Up but am unable to get any further than this. When I click on the download, it looks like it is going to download (Adobe Installer, Downloading Creative Cloud desktop and a loading bar) but then it tells me it has encountered the following issues: The remote server is not responding in a proper manner.
Now, I have been looking online for a solution and I saw something about changing an OOBE file in Program Files x86>Common Files>Adobe and at first there was no OOBE file so after more looking I thought I might have to download the Adobe Application Manager, which I did, but that doesn't work either, it just says unable to Reach Adobe servers, check internet connectivity (don't think there is anything wrong with this, I've not had any ther problems with internet connectivity) and firewall settings (i disabled the firewalls).
So I really have no idea what to do, the forums and help sites are confusing and none of the suggestions appear to work?!
    Please help!
    Thanks in advance!

  • J2ee connection error, "The Message Server did not respond within 60 sec"

    Hi,
I am facing the error "The Message Server did not respond within 60 sec. Please check if the message server is running.." when connecting to J2ee through NWDS.
I am able to reach the index page via http://<ip address>:53500/index.html but yet unable to reach through NWDS.
I have tried various combinations of host and port names like:
    Message Server Host : <ip address>, <host name>
    Message Server Port : 3636, 3936
    but still no luck.
I've also cross checked the value of message server port by navigating to http://<IP address>:53500/monitoring/SystemInfo too, it is 3636.
    The telnet test (telnet <ip address> <port Number>) draws a blank window.
I know this problem has been posted again and again, but then I am unable to understand what is the solution to this.
Can someone please help me in resolving this issue?
Note: [link 1|Unable to Connect to the J2EE Server from Netweaver Developer Studio; & [link 2|Developer Studio:Exception:The message server did not respond within 60 sec; are already checked.

    Hi Robin,
Although I still haven't received any info from my colleagues regarding the central instance..
Just a quick query, if we have NW04 we use 36** and if it is NW04S then we use 39** , is this the only difference for message server port?
If that is the case, as I mentioned earlier, I have tried both, and one gave me N/A(3936) while the other gave me 'message server did not respond' error(3636).
I have the message server host name & port , Enqueue Server Host name & Port and SDM PID and Port details with me..
Can this be anyway useful in establishing a connection?
    Waiting for your inputs...
    Best Regards,
    Vinay

Azure Files is a Preview feature. Did you request and got access to it at the billing portal's Preview Features (https://account.windowsazure.com/PreviewFeatures)?
Also, you can now try creating the File share via the Preview Portal (https://portal.azure.com -> your storage account -> "File Shares").

  • The remote server did not respond to a connection attempt

I have two Exchange 2003 servers: Old and New. Emails from the new server can go out however, users on the new server cannot receive emails from the old or the internet.
I get the following error:'....remote server did not respond to a connection attempt....'
All emails are stuck in newserver.domain.com.

    Hi KimaniBob,
Since Exchange 2003 is a very old Exchange version, we have not supported for Exchange 2003. It is recommended to upgrade your Exchange server to Exchange 2010. Your understanding will be appreciated.

  • Error message 'The remote server is not responding in a proper manner. Please retry after a few min

We have high security at the company so I'm wondering if there is an issue with the firewall settings not letting adobe in. The progress bar when trying to run CreativeCloudSet-Up.exe only gets to about ten percent of the way before this error appears.
I've tried the help desk chat and was asked to change the folder name C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBEOLD - this had no effect. I acctually get a registration error now when opening my CS6 apps. Anyone know how to fix this?

Have tryed connecting thru VPN to an AS400 computer system.  Two other people are connecting to AS400 with no problem.  ATT suggested changing my IP address because the owner of the AS400 was assigned the same IP address.  We have been trying for a few weeks to get this to work.  We have had several conversations (3-Way) with ATT to no avail.  Had one guy tell us to disable NORTON ANTIVIRUS software and try.  Does you have any idea how I cann connect?  HELP!  Software system is VISTA (both systems).  Using LINKSYS QUICK VPN.

What is the model number of your Linksys device? Please include the hardware version plus the firmware version. I believe that the Linksys Quick VPn only works with a Linksys VPN router.

  • Cannot Create New Share from Azure PowerShell - The remote name could not be resolved

I have created a storage account. It seems that there isn't a specific way to create file storage rather than blob storage.
I followed the instruction for creating a share in Azure Power Shell but when I try $s=New-AzureStorageShare... I keep getting the error "The remote name could not be resolved".  I checked the account name and it matched what is shown on the

I also cannot access the storage from the URL's.  I get the message "This page can't be displayed.
How can I create a file storage account and a share to it?

    Hi Glen,
    Thanks for your post!
Did you sign up your File Service ?
To sign up, go to the Microsoft Azure Preview Portal, and sign up for the Microsoft Azure Files service using one or more of your subscriptions. As subscriptions
are approved for the Azure File preview, you will get an email notifying you of the approval. We will be slowly opening up the service to users in batches, so please be patient after signing up.
After sign up and enable this feature, I suggest you could refer to this blog for how to use Azure File service (
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/windowsazurestorage/archive/2014/05/12/introducing-microsoft-azure-file-service.aspx#faq7 ).

  • Windows VPN: Error 720 - A connection to the remote computer could not be established

    Dear all
    I have a windows7 Laptop 64bit Dell 1340.
I was working with a UMTS card, was connected with a VPN to a windows 2003 server over PPTP and experienced a bluescreen. After this, I have the following errors when connecting to the VPN:
"Registering your computer on the network... Error 720: A connection to the remote computer could not be established. You might need to change the network settings for this connection"
and in the event view I receive the following:

CoId={A3478DFD-FFA4-4E8F-9DA3-CE829BDA777B}:The initial Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol request could not be successfully sent to the server. This can be due to network connectivity issues or certificate (trust) issues. The detailed error message is provided below. Correct the problem and try again.
I tried to use the Rarepair.exe tool but it looks to work only on windows xp. I deleted the IP and TCP settings without any luck.
I run a registry cleaner as well with out any luck.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
Since it worked previously, a quick solution is to run System Restore and get back to the previous status when the issue didn’t occur.
If system restore doesn’t help, please also try the following:
    1.    Check if you can establish the VPN via other connections except the connection through the UMTS card.
    2.    Reset the PPTP and L2TP WAN miniport with running the following commands one by one in an elevated command prompt:
    Netcfg -u MS_L2TP
    Netcfg -u MS_PPTP
    Netcfg -l %windir%\inf\netrast.inf -c p -i MS_PPTP
    Netcfg -l %windir%\inf\netrast.inf -c p -i MS_L2TP
Then reboot the computer and see how it works.

  • Failed to verify gateway status. The remote name could not be resolved: 'machinename' Office 365, Power BI

    Hi
I am trying to setup a Power BI On Premise datasource at a client site.
I successfully installed the Data Management Gateway (DataManagementGateway_1.2.5303.1_en-us (64-bit)) software on a Windows Server 2012 box and created the Gateway on the Power BI Office 365 site.
The Gateway is running correctly with no errors. When trying to setup the Datasource I get an error. As soon as I try to set the credentials the following message appears.
Failed to verify gateway 'GatewayName' status. The remote name could not be resolved: 'servername.domainname.net’
The servername which is returned in the error message is exactly the name which the DMG was installed on.
There is a firewall in place with a proxy server and I don't know if this might cause the problems. The
following website suggests adding the proxy settings in the config files of the DMG but this did not solve the problem.
The above setup process works perfectly when running the DMG from my laptop, connecting to a Gateway and creating a DataSource connecting to SQL Server.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    HI
    Thank You for the reply.
I resolved the issue in the mean time. I was on laptop which does not belong to the domain.
When setting up the datasource you should be on the same domain as the datasource as per the below post.

So I got an aircard Novatel P720. It was working fine for months. Then I installed a VPN connection. Now, I get this error.
Error 720: A connection to the remote computer could not be established.
Most of of what I found recommends uninstalling the WAN Miniport (IP), it seems that  I have to go thru so many hoops to get this fixed. Wondering if I would be better off rebuilding my machine from scratch again. Is there an patch or another way to get me going.
I think this is an old issue. Lots of comments on this thru Google. I am hoping I can get a definative answer from Lenovo's itself!
