Scan outgoing emails

Hi,
I was wondering if there are any applications that will scan all my outgoing mail for virus's and deliver a report in the signature? I have a mobile account which i would like to implement this with.
Thanks, Matt

GoDaddy did not find anything, but they reloaded my hosting account and it is now working.  I had not tried any of my other email addresses, but it seems the problem was limited to one domain name hosting account.  The max file size was 0.5 MB, so that was not an issue.  The limit is about 25 MB.  Thanks to everyone.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
The following may help with the following caveat:  The document was written to explain how to create a combined scan.  It does not include emailing the output.
    Scan_Multiple_Documents-Combine
NOTE Page 4 of the document:  Where it shows "Do Nothing", you would want to CHECK "email the file(s)".

  • HP LaserJet 400 colorMFP M475dw scan to email problems

    Hi all!
I'd very much appreciate a solution to my agony.
We recently purchased a HP LaserJet 400 colorMFP M475dw multifunction printer. Now I'm trying to set it up (browser administration -> Scan --> Outgoing E-mail Profiles) to send scanworks by email but facing following problems:
    1. When typed in all the credentials correctly, even the "Test & Save" option takes ages. After cople attempts I got it succesfully tested.
    2. Using my personal gmail-accout as sender, the scanning work takes a long time. It stops in connecting smtp server phase for quite a long time before even starting the actual scan.
    3. Using the company's newly created email accounts as sender, it takes even longer. I just timed it to take 6 minutes and 23 seconds before it started the actual scanning.
    4. Now it seems to send the scan ok, but with some of the first attempts it failed with some general error message asking to try again.
In my opinion the time it takes is totally unacceptable. Is this some known issue and is there a workaround?
Our company emails run on MS Office 365 and I'm using smtp.office365.com as the smtp server, port 587 and SSL/TLS checked (tried unchecked too). As I said with Gmail it might not be as slow but still very very very slow.
    Please help?

I also wanted to know if a HP M575f MFP is able to scan-to-email to MS Office 365 before buying the printer.
Because I didnt find reliable information in the internet, I contacted HP Germany.
Today they told me that HP printers don't support Office 365. The original wording was:
'Allerdings wird Office 365 nicht von unseren HP Druckern unterstützt.'
     So far my present knowledge.

  • Scan to email settings

i am using windows vista and a HP Laserjet pro 200 color MFP M276nw
My goal is use the MFP to scan and send a document, photo, etc via email using my hotmail account.
i tried to create an outgoing email profile using the HP device toolbox.  i am using a hotmail account  (and tried a yahoo account) but would like to focus on the hotmail account.  I tried various SMTP servers for hotmail (smtp-mail.outlook.com; smtp.live.com ; smtp.hotmail.com) and multiple SMTP ports with each server (25, 110, 587, 995)
I receive the same error for each one
"Cannot resolve the SMTP server. Check this setting with your system administrator or Internet Service Provider."

    Hi @jedi_nite1980,
I see by your post that you are trying to setup the outgoing email profile account using Hotmail and are getting a error for the "Cannot resolve the SMTP server. Check this setting with your system administrator or Internet Service Provider".
Your best bet is to contact email provider for the proper SMTP settings. The ones listed on the web might not be accurate if a update was done and it just hasn't be provided yet. You will need the correct SMTP server and SMTP port information.
Here is a document for setting up the scan to email through the Scan to E-mail Wizard.
How to Scan: From the Control Panel (Including Scan to Email, to a PDF, and to a Network Folder).

  • Scan to Email not working - Invalid Credentials error (using gmail and 2-factor authentication)

I configured the HP OfficeJet 8600 printer for scan to email using the Embedded Web Server interface. In the Web interface, I added/entered an email address for my gmail account, and set the correct SMTP server details, and entered 465 for the port number. I checked the "Always use secure connection" box, as well as the "SMTP requires authentication for outgoing email messages" box. I entered correct SMTP user ID and password. Yet when I did a test, I got an error "Invalid credentials" After a lot of frustration, and trying all sorts of things, I eventually got the idea to try another email account. This time I tried a different email account, a netzero email account, configured the smtp server details for it etc. And this time when I tested the netzero email address it worked. I tried the scan to email on the printer, and it worked for the Netzero email account. it just didnt work for the gmail account. I had a while back turned on 2-factor authentication. I went to gmail settings and requested an "App password" for my HP printer. Google/gmail displayed a 16 character password, which I then entered into the password box in the HP OfficeJet printer Embedded Web Server interface (instead of my usual password), for the gmail account. And this time when I tested the email account - it worked! Problem solved! .. I share this just in case anyone else is having the same problem I had, and is going through the same frustrating experience I endured!

    Thank you. This helped TREMENDOUSLY!

  • How do i get scan-to-email to work?

    Tech Data:
    OS:  Mac Snow Leopard
    Printer: 8600 Pro Plus
Connection Method: Printer- Ethernet (Bonjour), Laptop-Wireless
Running FULL HP software package, including full updates via Apple Software Update
    Set-up went without a hitch
    Printing is working
    ePrint is working
    Scan to Computer is working
Archive Faxing (sending received faxes to email address) is working
When I try to set up Scan to Email, specifically "Outgoing Email Profiles" I keep receiving the message "Network connection error. Check network and try again"..  This is through the local web interface on the printer.  I have tried it through Safari as well as Chrome. This is at the same time that the status in the HP Utility shows the printer connected and ready.
Can anyone tell me what else to look for in order to set up the Fax to Email?  Do I have to connect wirelessly instead of Ethernet?  Do I have to connect the computer via USB?
Thank you for any help or suggestions.

  • Scan to email setup

When trying to setup my scan to email via Gmail I keep getting an error screen saying "incorrect credentials". I am using the correct password. Additionally, when i use a Yahoo email account it appears to work.

    Hi,
Gmail had recently changed several security options which may block the printer from connecting to their servers.
First open the following link and ensure you are logged on to the same account as you are setting for the printer.
    https://myaccount.google.com/
Within the Signing in section ensure that "2-Step Verification" is set as "Off", as well ensure that "Access for less secure apps" is set as "Allowed", otherwise the verification will fail.
Within the Recent activity section click on "Devices", if you see any blocked connection attempt (it will be highlighted in red) click on Yes and follow the steps by allowing access for less secure apps...
Once you are done run a test for the outgoing user profile and check if the problem been resolved.

  • HP 8500 PLUS-scan to email - "SMTP server want approval- control SAMTP username and password"

I have this brand new PRO 8500 PLUS machine, and everything is working except for the "scan to email" function.
I did the setup in the web interface, in which I configured my GMAIL account to be the outgoing account in the printer.
In the end I pressed "save and test" and it reported OK! I used my full GMAIL adress as SMTP username, and my GMAIL password as password.
However, when I scan a paper and try send it to myself (same adress as confgured as outgoing in printer) it says something like(bad translation...)
"SMTP server demands approval - check that SAMTP username and password is set"
    Network config is:
    IP adress: 192.168.0.183
    Subnett mask: 255.255.255.0
    Standard gateway: 192.168.0.1

    Primary DNS server: 192.168.0.1
    Secundary DNS server: 0.0.0.0

    Hey Cartman9090,
Alright i did a little bit of researching and this is what i was able to come up with. There are two separate settings that perform two different actions.
    1. Under settings in the printer EWS you have email servers and individual settings for alerts. The email server settings under setting in the ews allow you to set up the product to send problem and status alerts to anyone through e-mail messages. When this function is configured, alerts are automatically triggered about supplies, paper-path status, and other service and advisory information.
    2. Under scan when configuring the scan to email in the EWS this is for configuring the e-mail address which will appear in the FROM portion of the e-mail message sent by the printer. The device allows you to scan documents and send them to one or more e-mail addresses as attachments—without additional scanning software. You do not need to scan files from your computer and attach them to e-mail messages. In addition to send scanned files as emails the device must use a outgoing email profile configured with an outgoing email account.

  • Hp officejet 8600 pro plus. Scan to email suddenly not working.

    Hi.
I can't use the 'scan to email' function any longer. It states the email username or password is incorrect. I have checked the gmail settings are correct:-
    smtp.gmail.com
port 587 and have tried 465 too.
    always use secure connection (ticked)
    SMTP AUTHENTICATION
SMTP server requires authentication for outgoing e-mail messages
SMTP User ID(MY EMAIL ADDRESS ENTERED)
    SMTP Password
    (MY EMAIL PASSWORD)
Am at a loss as to what it could be. Any ideas folks.
    Cheers.

    Hi,
Ensure the 465 port is selected with the SSL mark checked.
As well verify Gmail's security settings, some latest settings may block the printer from connecting:
Open the following URL and ensure you are connected with the same account being used for your printer:
    https://www.google.com/settings/security
Ensure that 2-step verification is set as Off, change it if required.
Ensure that Access for less secure apps is Allowed, change it if required.
Now try testing the outgoing email profile settings from the printer homepage or the HP software.
    Please let me what happens,
    Shlomi

  • 8500 outgoing email

Has anyone had any success with setting up the 8500 xpress for outgoing pop3 email with 02. I am okay with the wifi but on 3g unable to send but okay to recieve any ideas. I am using my own email addresses not 02
i have tried changing the outgoing email settings no luck

Sounds like you might have anti-virus software scanning the email before it is sent.
If this is the case then, try switching off the scanning to see if this improves performance.
It is also possible that your Sent folder has become very large.
Archive old sent emails, delete those you do not want, then right click on Sent folder and select 'Compact'.

  • Outgoing email very slow

Outgoing email is very slow. Happened suddenly with no changes being made to the Thunderbird account. Have checked with server (Execulink telecom) and we have no problems sending directly from their web mail site. Takes almost 30 seconds to send an email with no attachments.

    Hello help_me_please9,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand you are having issues setting up Scan to Email, I have a suggestion that may be helpful to you. Gmail as a Two-step Verification within their Email settings that helps secure your account. Try disabling this, if enabled, and see if it allows you to then setup Scan to Email.
Log into your Gmail Email account.
Click Email or icon in right corner and then Account.
    Click Security.
Under Account permissions> Access for less secure apps, click Settings.
    Enable it and click Done.
Re-run the Scan to Email setup.
Let me know if this helps.

  • Laserjet 200 mfp scan to email

I have recently begun having a problem with my scan to email feature. I have been using it frequently, but today when I tried to send a scan I recieved the error message: "The SMTP server uses an authentication method that is not supported. Try a different server."
I am using my gmail account, that has worked ever since I bought the printer (using the standard gmail settings: smtp.gmail.com, port 465...) and as far as I can tell nothing has changed that would explain the error.
I have tried deleting and re-creating my email profile on the printer via the web interface but I still get the same error when I test the account.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a setting I am missing that needs to change to make this work again? Has Google changed something about their authentication that no longer allows the printer through?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
You shouldn't reconfigure the email settings, the problem relies on your Gmail account security settings which configured with secutiry options which are not supported by the printer, that may happen due to two-factor authentication or if you set Google to only allow access for more secure apps.
