Specifications in Result Recording

Hi QM Gurus,
Here I encountered an interesting problem, Lower and Upper specification limit have been maintained in inspection plan.
However, when make result recording the Lower and Upper specification limit are not transported into result recording screen.
Pls help.
Cheers,
Sun

Hi Sun
I think Inspection Plan Operation Detail setting is disturbed.
Go to Change Task List (QP02) -> Operation -> Select Operation and open Operation Details (F6) -> Scroll down find for Recording View in Quality Management General tab.
By default Recording View is set to "Single Value & Summurized Result". If it is not then set.
Hope this will resolve your problem

• Hiding specification in Result recording Screen

Is it possible to hide specifications of characteristics in Result Recording screen. this is to prevent end user manipulating observed values as he shouyld not see tolerances. he only should see characteristics description and enter values. But master data will be avilable with specifications. This restriction should be there for particular roles only. all others should have normal screen during alla ctivity.
Thanks.
Jaison

Hello Jaison,
Please try using the Table setting which is available in the result recording screen. You can create a variant and make the specification field as invisible. Please take the help of ABAP and Basis and explore the possibility for the same.

• Changing specification during result recording.

Hello,
Is there any functionality in result recording (QE51N) which allows you to change specification for quantitative inspection characteristic?
Example:
specification 5,0 .. 6,0. You record result 4,9 and change specification to 4,9 .. 5.0 which causes that valuation of inspection characteristic is accepted
Best Regards
Andrzej

Hi,
Once you assigned specifications you can not change the specifications.
How ever if you are sure every time specifications are changeing then use MIC with incomplete copy model.
Normally you will be inspecting the material (Physically) first so you will be knowing what specifications will suit to make the RR acceptable.
But this may not be acceptable to client in all situation.

• Hide specification column in result recording at plant level

Hi,
There is an requirement to hide specification column in result recording screen at plant level.
By table control we can hide the specification column but the setting is at user level or client level.
Is there any standard procedure to hide specification column at plant level.
Regards
Amol

Dear Amol,
Try this if works for you.
1. Go to QA32
2. Select an inspection lot
3. Click on results
4. Here you will get the specification column along with RR column
5. Reduce the width of specification column just like we do in Microsoft excel by dragging it from right to left until it disappears
6. At the right hand side you find a small table like symbol. When you move your mouse pointer towards it, it reflects as Configuration.
7. Click it
8. Give suitable name to variant and save
This is user ID specific.

• Result Recording Specification field Table entry

Hi SAP QM Gurus!
In QM Result recording against Inspection lot, there is a column called "Specifications".
Can anyone tell me from which table I can get the avlues of Specification field/
Typically, I have below specification values. For one of my report I want these field values.
Description the material
<=  0,5 %
>=  99,0 %
98,50 .. 100,50 %
85 .. 90 °C
>=  0,10 mg/tab
Kindly help me to get the field values.

• Recording Dates in Results Recording

Hi.
I have an inspection with a task list. Several samples will be tested each time an inspection lot is created. I have a number of MICs that are quantitative / calculated to determine results of lab testing - this is all working great. The problem is that for each of my samples I need to be able to document general information about the sample. The types of information that needs to be documented are, for example, dates and sample numbers (not serialized using SAP).
Primarily these dates need to be used to generate date range specific reports of the lab results. It is for this reason that I do not want the users documenting dates in the inspection description field in results recording.
Does anyone know if using the QM_INPUT_PROCEDURE BAdI can the result field of a quantitative MIC be formatted as a date? Or has anyone had a similar problem that they have been able to solve? Is Sample Management / Physical Samples the direction to take?
Thank you very much in advance,
Cristin

Ok. Here's one way around this.
You can read this post:
http://sapfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=14682&p=43885&hilit=datecharacteristicinspectionlot#p43885
But basically you use numeric MIC and the date is recorded in the form yyyymmdd. So for today it would be 2010622. You can even set a spec range at the begining of each year. So the range would be 20100101 to 20101231. This could help cut down on typos as well.
This number then gets copied to the batch record to a linked hidden numeric characteristic. A dependency is used to convert the number to the appropriate date. The dependency then updates a second characteristic with the date. It is this second date characteristic then that you can use in your reports. If you want to make sure the date formatted characteristic is changed due to additional testing or sampling you can include an IF NULL or an IF INITIAL statement in the dependency so once the characteristic has a value, it wouldn't be updated if the dependency was called again.
I am guessing each blood donation is being set up as a separate batch number.

• Decimal places display at the time of results recording

Dear All,
Please i faced one problem, At the time of results recoridngi/.e,
In my insp. plan i defined Quantitative specification as 70.0 with '1' decimal place in Qunatitative data. but after results recording it displaying one more decimal place excessi.e., as 70.00. How can i solve this problem, due to what this problem is occure. Please if any, solve its urgent.
Regards,
Vijaya

Dear Vijaya,
While entering Inspection Characteristics.. There is a field called DecPlaces on the right. its the 24th field on the item table.
The field comes after
Method, Insp Method plant, Version, Sampling Procedure, Sample Unit of Measure, Base Sample Quantity, SPC Criterion, Modification Rule, Test Eqpmt, Test Equip Short Text, Par Sample, DecPlace, Unit of Measure, Target Value, Lower spec Lmt, Upper Spec Lmt... and so on...

• Results Recording through QE 11 - Determine one MIC w.r.t another MIC

Hi All,
While doing Results Recording through QE11, one MIC (Say 'T') )needs to be automatically calculated ,whereas it was manually entered until now.
The value for 'T' should be picked from some Z table depending on some key fields , of whiich another manual MIC (say 'A' )value is a key field.
I can create the Function module and assign it to the MIC in formula. But I am not sure how to pick up the value for MIC 'A' at run-time.
Before saving itself, when 'calculate' button near 'T' is pressed, the FM should be triggered and it should use the value for MIC 'A' for picking value for 'T' from Z table.
Please advise if any FMs/BAPIS are there or any other method.
An F1 at 'A' yielded field QAQEE-SUMPLUS in 'Result' field and QAMKR-ORIGINAL_INPUT from 'Orig. Val' filed of which both are structure fields.
Thanks,
Neethu

I'm a maybe little late, but i will try to explain my own problem.
I'm also working for QM.
I want read data from QAQEE-ORIGINAL_INPUT and i cant and i did succed when i going to see inspection report.
I just have to make some marks in field Accessories for report and u will get data from this field.
But, if i want to read the same data in another place in sapscript i have problem.
It simple i cant get data from structure, is this because the program for form is writen for specific point when it must be write out?
Sorry for my english.
Tnx.

• How to Incorporate formula in QE51 (result recording screen for insp char)?

Hi,
Kindly help me in incorporating a formula field in QE51 screen where we record results for inspection characteristics. I need to add a formula in a field which should be a qualitative characteristics which should make calculations of few quantitative fields
EX:
Field 1 = xxx
Field 2 = yyy
Field 3 = zzz
Field 4 = Field 1 - field 2 - field 3
If the Field 4 has someother value other than zero upon saving the result it should throw some error.
How can i add this formula in the system.. can anyone help me?
Thanks in Advance

See the std sap help, then if you have any aboubt come back
Formula Evaluation
Use
You can have the measured values of a characteristic (calculated characteristic) automatically calculated from the input and results of other characteristics (calculation input characteristics). The formula is automatically evaluated when the characteristic is valuated. You can trigger the formula evaluation before the characteristic valuation.
You can determine the weight of a glass bottle, by determining the weight of the empty bottle and the volume of water needed to fill it. Both these measurements are represented as calculation input characteristics; the total weight is then the calculated characteristic.
Prerequisites
For formula calculation, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled:
• You have defined the formula that is used in the inspection characteristic for the task list.
You can use standard mathematical functions in this formula, as well as the following operands:
o Numerical constants
o The specifications and results of other characteristics in the same operation
o External function modules
• For inspection lots with an assigned serial number profile or units to be inspected with external numbering, the following applies:
To evaluate the formula for original values, you must ensure that a reference is made to the same serial number for the calculation input characteristics. The "Serial number - original value" assignment is the decisive factor for the first (leading) calculation input characteristic. If a serial number is not available for the first calculation input characteristic in another calculation input characteristic, you cannot evaluate the formula.
Activities
To calculate the formula from the valuation, choose:
• Evaluate formula on the characteristic overview screen
• Extras  Formula  Evaluate formula on the characteristic single screen
If values from other characteristics are used in the formula, these calculation input characteristics must have already been valuated before the formula can be calculated.
To display the formula, choose Extras  Formula  Display formula on the characteristic overview screen or the characteristic single screen.
The formula printout is then displayed in a window.

• User Exits for QE11 Results Recording

Hi Experts,
I'm having the scenario for results recording as follows.
I'm using variant configuration, while creation of sales order user will enter the configuration i.e. Manfacturing range. Based on the manfacturing range system will calculate the remaining parameters like burst pressure maximum and minimum based on the dependencies we written.
While doing the results recording, the system is giving error if out of the range values entered.
But here, if suppose Manfacturing Range = -5% range
Then the Burst pressure Maximum = 15 psig
Burst Pressure Minimum = 12.5 psig
For this range, they have some calculation while doing results recording.
For this range +/- 2 % will be allowed i.e.
Burst Pressure Maximum = 15.3 psig
Burst Pressure Minimum = 12.25 psig
This range will be applicable in Quality Department.
So, while doing the results recording system has to give the error out of this range means.
For this is there any User Exit or Enhancement is available or not.
Please help me.

Hi
I think you can use the multiple specification for the mareal function to meet this.
Step1 : Quality Management -> Basic Settings -> Maintain Settings at Client Level
Inspection Specification -> Multiple Specifications check box to be flagged.
Step 2: Quality Management ->Quality Planning -> Inspection Planning ->General -> Multiple Specification->
Define Object Types for Multiple Specifications e.g.Manufacturing range
Step3 : Quality Management -> Quality Planning > Inspection Planning > General > Multiple Specifications
> Define Objects for Multiple Specifications e.g. 5%, 10% etc
Step 4 : Activate Multiple spec Quality Management > Quality Inspection > Inspection Lot Creation > Define Default Values for Inspection Type
Step 5 : flag Multiple spec check box in material master inspection set up
Step 6 : In quality plan header data click on multiple specification
step 7 : Assign the material to the task list
Step 8 > Enter the depedent characteristics for the specification

• Error while Result Recording-QM

Dear friends,
While RR for inspection lot I faced this error.
Characteristic results cannot be recorded for inspection lot 06000000764
Message no. QE181
Diagnosis
You cannot record any characteristic results for this inspection lot. The material master has been set up for the existing inspection type in such a way that results recording is not supported.
Procedure
Confirm defects for this inspection lot or select another inspection lot in which you can confirm the characteristic results.

Dear Vipul,
Check the System Status, it will be CRTD.
Now select the material and click on Inspection Lot button.
In this window , click on the Inspection Specification tab.
Now click on the Task List / Spec. button.
If this button now appears fainted after clicking then it is ok, then click on the Sample button , here click on the Smpl. button and this button will shown in fainted look. Now click on the Save button. It will bring you on the main screen of QA32 , now click on the Refresh button , you will notice its Status will change.
If clicked on Task List / Spec. button and it shows an error message that No Inspection Plan Exists , then you will have to make an inspection plan using T-Code QP01. After making the Inspection Plan then follow the above steps.
Hope this solves your problem.

• Operation Number in Result Recording

Dear QM Masters,
We are preparing BDC for result recording through QE11 as inspection lot will be with inspection points. Task list for specification will have same MIC assigned to two operation/phase i.e. phase 40 and phase 60. But as we have to record result for same characteristics twice at seperate work-center with seperate operation/phase number, which field we can take as primary key for operation identification as in QAMV table we dont have operation/phase fied. Can we use VORGLFNR field named as NODE of QAMV and if yes then what can be the logic?
Please help to find the solution as our developement is stopped because of this issue.
Any guidence will be great help and will be rewarded.
Thanks and regards,
Devang

Hi,
Step by step how to find the operation nos and characteristics nos.
1) From QALS table get the order number (AUFNR) for the field inspection lot no.(PRUEFLOS)
2) Go to table AFKO and give the input AUFNR (order no) which is got from QALS table. Find the field AUFPL from that AUFNR value from AFKO table.
3) Go to table AFVC and give the input AUFPL. You will get the AFVC-APLZL which is unique for each operation nos that is AFVC-VORNR. Now you have the APLZL from AFVC table.
4) Go to table QAMV and give the input inspection lot no (PRUEFLOS) and APLZL value in the field QAMV-VORGLFNR. Meaning AFVC-APLZL=QAMV-VORGLFNR. Fetch the characteristics nos that is QAMV-MERKNR.
I hope this will solve your problem.
Regards,
Manoj

• Where to maintain Attribute of the results record (Valid, Invalid,....)

Dear Guru
Where to maintain Attribute of the results record (Valid, Invalid,....)
< The true value is less or equal to; valid result
> The true value is greater or equal to; valid result
my requrement is when i record the result system shows <= value is less or equal to in specification (e.g. <= 5.0%), but client requirement is only "< value is less" (e.g. < 5.0%)to be display.
Please help.
Thanks in advance
Yuvraj Dhotre....

Hi then based on the no of decimal places you can define the limit like for decimal places 3 your upper limit will be 4.999
And if it is lower limit the it is 5.001

• Result Recording of Inspection Characterstics.

Hi Gurus,
Actually we have one scenario in QA in which for one material there are certain specification whose result we will come to know few days later after posting inspection lot in Unrestricted & also after doing UD.
I want to know how to do result recording for that perticular specification after we already did the UD for that lot?
Is it possible after UD?
Is there any additional customization setting nedded?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You can do this .
Those MIC for which you want to take result after UD .In control indicator of MIC put long term inspection check box on .
So that even after UD of inspection lot , result record for that MIC will remain open for you to take result.
