Updating work centre

On the work center I have defined an activity type. When I modify an activity type on a work center, the routings where these work center are employed are not automatically updated.
I dont no what is the reason behind that

Hi,
Use Tcode CA85 with same workcenter in New work center field.  Change the new activity type in default values screen.
But if your activtity types don't change in the routings where ever the workcenter is used, then check the reference indicator in the workcenter itself. So whenever you change the activity type in the workcenter, routing data will also get changed automatically

    Hi... we have some difficulties with PM exits. Basically, if the work centre for an order is changed in IW32, SAP does not automatically re-populate the profit centre and cost centre associated with the changed work centre. To try to achieve this I have implemented the Sap suggested exits EXIT_SAPLCOIH_005/IWO10005 (for profit centre) and EXIT_SAPLCOIH_025/IWO10025 (for cost centre).  The cost centre exit works. For the profit centre exit  to work (invoke EXIT_SAPLCOIH_005) it needs profit centre to be blank. Being change mode (IW32) this field is populated already and asking the users to blank the profit centre field beforehand is not practical. Tried to see if auto blanking the profit centre field as soon as the work centre field is changed is possible... but there is no exit triggered at that point to do this.  It appears that EXIT_SAPLCOIH_005 is triggered before anything else. Any ideas on how Profit Centre can be updated? (I have tried previous exit suggestions here). Thanks...

    Profit Centres are generally applicable only for Revenue & Expense accounts.
    When you load the opening balances, it affect the Inventory Account which is an Account Account and that is why there is no Profit Centre marked in the JE.

  • HR posistion updated when person assigned to a work centre.

    in SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), we are assigning persons to work centers.
    Some times a strange thing happen when we assign a person to a work center.
    The position for the person is updated with a wrong value in HR master data.
    We are not given any position in PM, and definitely do not want to update HR master data from PM.
    Anyone experienced something like this?

    I have now tried to do the same in our test system.  And for the particular user I get an error message when doing this.
    The screen for "Copy Organizational Assigment" pop up.
    And SAP try to fill in the Work centre ID as Position.
    ut with error message:
    Entry in outbound table not found
    Message no. E0400
    Diagnosis
    No partner profile (outbound parameter) could be found using the following key:
    PXCCLNT100/LS//HRMD_A///
    This refers to the key fields in table EDP13:
    RCVPRN  Partner number
    RCVPRT  Partner type
    RCVPFC  Partner function
    MESTYP  Logical message
    MESTYP  Message code
    MESCOD  Message function
    TEST    Test indicator
    Procedure
    Please check the EDI partner profiles.
    We do not understand this.  And it only happend with this user, and with all work centres we try to add him to.

  • Work Centre within BOM

    Hi all,
    I am working in a manufacturing company, and the company is considering to use SAP B1 to replace the current system. However, we are not fully confident on how SAP B1 handles work centre within BOM.
    The current system:
    We have 10-12 work centre that works as a cost centre and it is associated with the machineries we have. In that work centre setting, we set labour cost, production speed, number of production in an hour etc, the purpose is to enable calculating the production cost per item and for other purposes as well.
    We also have work sequences, that will pretty much handle the sequences in producing items. The relationship between work centre and work sequence is one to many or one to one.
    Does SAP B1 have this capability?
    Another question will be in regard to barcoding. I understand that there is add-on to handle barcoding and RFID. My question is whether the SAP B1 add-on can handle the automatic process of updating the system when the barcode scanner is used, or do we have to update the system manually?

    Many thanks for your suggestion. My company's objective is replicating the the current DBA Manufacturing system, that means saving monies whenever possible to do so. The primary option is AIO, however the Board asked project members to explore the possibilities to implement B1.
    I will conclude now that B1 is be good enough to fully replicate DBA Manufacturing without hassles of implementing heaps of add-ons.

    Work Center (CR01 - Create, CR02 - Change, CR03 - Display)
    Using the data maintained for a work center, you can
    determine which machines or people are to be used in the operations
    calculate costs, capacities and dates for the operations
    OP42 - Configure the default value for Work Center during the initial creation.
    After creating many work center in the Routing, the users might want to check what materials and components allocation have been updated with this work center.  You can used this program Work Center in Routing - Search through all the routing for the material and component allocation used.
    The standard program transaction CA80, checks where the work center was used in the routing.  However, it did not list the components allocation for the work center.
    Pooled Capacity field - When a production order 1234567 has the capacity requirement on its work center Wxxxxx. It means it has the requirement on pooled capacity Pxxxxx.  If more than one work center shared this pooled capacity, the requirement (transaction CM01) will be shown on all the work center with the SAME shared pooled capacity.
    In HR system we will the cost per each Work Center level. This work center we can assing org unit leave or postion level also.
    Please revet back further clarifications.

    Open Disk Utility and select your hard drive, then Repair Permissions, it will probably return a very large number of errors, primarily printer and library errors, so run it a second time.  Then restart the MacBook Pro.  If it still will not scan, try using Image Capture from Finder > Applications and see if that will work.  If not, contact Xerox about updated drivers.

  • Work centre capacity utilization

    Dear guru ,
    i have a work centre that always work in the same moment for 3 different production order.
    If my total daily available capacity is 11 hours for my 1 individual capacity is right that I assign to the work centre a capacity utilization of 300 percent in order to have a daily available capacity of 33 hours and I can use capacity levelling in the best way ?
    Or there is other better solution for solving this problem ?

    Definition:Operations are carried out at a work center. In the R/3 System work centers are business objects that can represent the following real work centers, for example:
    Machines, machine groups
    Production lines
    Assembly work centers
    Employees, groups of employees
    Use
    Together with bills of material and routings, work centers belong to the most important master data in the R/3 production planning and control system. Work centers are used in task list operations and work orders. Task lists are for example routings, maintenance task lists, inspection plans and standard networks. Work orders are created for production, quality assurance, plant maintenance and for the Project System as networks.
    Data in work centers is used for
    Scheduling
    Operating times and formulas are entered in the work center, so that the duration of an operation can be calculated.
    Costing
    Formulas are entered in the work center, so that the costs of an operation can be calculated. A work center is also assigned to a cost center.
    Capacity planning
    The available capacity and formulas for calculating capacity requirements are entered in the work center.
    Simplifying operation maintenance

    Does the 10.0.2 update work?
    I tried the update to 10.0.2 when it was released but the update failed to work.
    Adobe Application Manager gave the following dialogue:
    "Some updates failed to install. Update is not applicable".
    Apple's Get Info for the application says version 1.0.1 and the Adobe about box says version 10.0.1.19
    I ran "updates" from the After Effects help menu again this morning but the response is "no updates available"
    I have the retail copy of CS5 and used the retail version of the update.

  • RSD : a try to explain how the SMC firmware update works

    Hi everybody,
    In another thread i read this post (there's only a part here) from fancontrol :
    "Before the update, the fans started to speed up at about 75°C. Now they already start at about 64°C and then increase with CPU load and temperature. Before smc-update I could reach about 85°C running both cores at 100%, now they the macbook does not go beyond 77°C. By the way: The minimum fan-speed set by Apple is still 1500rpm."
    The conclusion I made from this post is as follow :
    There is a difference of 8°C (85°-77°) at 100%. That is to say that the internal temperature of the macbook is 8°C cooler after the update. It is probably this difference that could avoid the melting of the wires.
    ----- BEFORE THE UPDATE -----
    If the fans start at a too high temperature (75°C)
    Then the internal temperature increases and becomes too high (85°C) during a certain periode of time (more or less depending on how long the computer is used, the environment of the computer is used i.e. if the table is made of wood, etc)
    Then the wires melt
    Then RSD appears.
    ----- AFTER THE UPDATE -----
    The SMC manages the start of the fans better. And after the update :
    If the fans start at a lower temperature (64°C instead of 75°C)
    Then the internal temperature is cooler
    Then the wires won't melt.
    The SMC update works or not (??) probably depending on when the update is done (the state of the wires, melted or not). If the wires are too damaged, perhaps only a physical repair can solve the problem.
    Another part of the update is probably also to ignore some signals from the sensors (if they aren't too damaged).

    I am just trying to understand by myself what does this **** update. Why Apple doesn't explain us what the firmware does?
    In fact, my girlfriend wants to buy a new macbook but I told her to wait until it's sure the update fixes the problem. I want to be sure that a new macbook + SMC update won't never have the problem. She is finishing her PhD and she has no time to spend with a two weeks repair.
    By reading forums on sites that talk about this problem, I am not sure that the update really fixes the problem for all of the macbooks and I am trying to know why.
    In my previous post, I was just talking about the fact that if wires melt into the computer it's obviously (?) due to the heat.
    OK, the wires don't melt on every macbook. It probably depends on the use of the processor ?
    I thought that the update did probably several things :
    1) For the new macbooks, it prevents the problem (decreases the temperature of the start of the fans to avoid the problem of wires ? If it's a matter of wire, obviously)
    2) For little damaged macbooks, it fixes the problem (??) (ignores some signals from the sensors because redoundance)
    3) For the too damaged macbooks, it doesn't work because it's a physical problem.
    But there's something I don't understand. It's not very logical.
    1) All of the macbook haven't the problem. OK. It's probably normal. They are not used the same way. and/or Perhaps, they don't have exactly the same components ? Is it possible ?
    2) Some repaired macbooks (by Apple) still have the problem. AppleCare changed the heatsink... but still RSS. ???? So It's not a physical problem ?
    3) Some updated macbooks (repaired or not) still have the problem. It's probably due to a physical problem : a too damaged wire ?
    To summerize, I have two question :
    1) what does exactly the update (Am I right or wrong ?) (It's not very important)
    2) Can be sure that a new macbook + SMC update won't never have the RSS problem

    I am trying to create a new work centre based on the settings of a previous one? First of all,how I can do this?
    Secondly,after I have created the new work centre (having copied being copied from another),I need to create a new production Scheduler and Cost Centre? How I will be able to do so,also?Will the Production Scheduller and Cost Centre assignments fom the old work centre be copied,too,or I will need to create/copy these from scratch?

    Hello,
    You can create a new work center by copying an existing work center. in the cr01 screen in the copy from column put the plant name and Ref. work center name and put enter. all the existing data will be copied to the newly created work center. no need to create new assignment to  Production Scheduller and Cost Center.

    Dear PP Gurus,
      I have included the following screen
    0420: Personnel: incl work center and posting date  in the confirmation profile, so that the user can change the work centre at the time of confirmation. However the user wants that there should be a check where in only the workcentres which are used in parallel to be allowed for the perticular operation.
    Please guide how to achieve this? Can we have a check thorugh any of the user exit below:
    CONFPP02  PP order conf.: Customer specific input checks 1
    CONFPP03  PP order conf.: Cust. specific check after op. selection
    CONFPP04  PP order conf.: Customer specific input checks 2

    Eg.
    For operation 0020 the user may perform the confirmations on Weld1 /Weld2 /Weld 3 machine. Now the system will allow to select any work centre other than these three. That may lead to wrong confirmation. The user wants to restrict the work centres to be selected to these three only. These three machines are mentioend as parallel sequence in the routing.
