Usage allowance email

I recently recieved an email from '[email protected]' stating:
Your usage allowance is near its limit -
what you need to know
Dear Customer,
We thought you'd like to know that, so far in January, you've used more than 7GB of your 10GB monthly usage allowance for your BT Total Broadband Option 1 service........ etc etc etc
The problem is, i'm on Option 3.... or at least that's what i signed up to. So my question is, is this just spam mail?
Has anyone else recieved emails like this?
Cheers

  • BT Infinity Usage allowance

    Hello,
I have just looked at my usage allowance for this month and according to BT's usage monitor I have gone over, it states that I have been sent an advisory email, but I have had no email's from BT.
Looks like another screw up, BT doesn't take into account that my service is always getting interrupted, and my phone keeps getting disconnected, when I phone them from my mobile, it's always 'oh it won't happen again, please accept our apologies', and we will put a 'Tag' on your line so it doesn't happen again.....Total BS.
I have lost count of however many downloads that I have lost due to crappy service from BT, so will I renew my contract?
    NO!

the email advising you of usage will have been sent to your BT email address

  • Usage allowance

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this because I'm tearing my hair out after contacting bt several times about this.
I was on option 1, but upgraded to option 2 so I could have more usage allowance (40gb instead of 10gb)
    BUT
I keep getting emails telling me that I've exceeded my 10gb usage.
I have rung bt several times over this matter and been told that yes I'm on option 2 and have an allowance of 40gb, so not to worry, only to receive another email  a couple of weeks later saying that I've exceeded my 10gb allowance. Please help me to settle this matter once and for all

    Hi.
It sounds like the system hasn't quite caught up with the account alteration. May I ask when you upgraded ?
Can you pop along to my shortcuts option 12b (using your full primary email address as the login), and it should give the Product you are on. Sometimes this might be out of step.
Also have a look at my shortcuts, option 14d & 14e and see if you can see your usage in graph form. If you can access this OK, it should give the threshold figure for your account.
If these things still point at Option 1 or 10GB, you may like to drop a request to the moderators who can look into the problem for you.

  • BT Broadband usage allowance estimate.

Usage allowance, 1GB roughly equates to 5000 web pages or 50,000 emails, I might view 10 or 20 web pages in a day and send 3 or 4 emails. So I must have viewed 65,000 web pages or sent, wait for it, 650,000 emails

Been with BT BB for over 5 years now, never once went above the usage allowance, I rarely get the 7GB advisory emails, 4 in the last 12 months to be exact.
Now all of a sudden I am exceeding my 10GB allowance by miles, 23GB used in Feb 2012.
This is the good bit, according to my BT usage monitor I got the advisory email for 7GB on the 28th Feb 2012, note the date, 28th Feb. No email was received by me. Also on the 20th Feb 2012 I was supposed to get an email for exceeding my 10GB allowance by 13GB for Feb 12 on the 20th Feb 2012. Again no email was received, but it is logged on BT's usage monitor as having been sent.
Somehow I am supposed to have used 16GB of broadband acess in the space of 24 hours, 29 days in Feb 2012, advisory email for 7GB used received on 28th Feb 2012. £15.00 charge to go on my next bill..........like hell it will.
Explain that if you can BT.
    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Have you checked the online Spam folder in case the email went into there ?
Pardon me for asking as I'm not too certain about your dates. You've given details about an email for exceeding Feb 2012 on 20th Feb ? And also one on 28th Feb for going past 7GB ? Clearly they don't make sense to be in that order - or the one on 20th Feb is wrong.
As for the usage, is there anything you can think of that might have caused this extra usage ? The usual culprits such as skype video chat, catch up tv, online film streaming etc.

Since you don’t allow emails any more – I suspect because of the numerous complaints with your service and the way you treat people that you don’t want documented, I am calling and I want this call recorded for future reference.
I have been a long time faithful customer of vzw and although the past year I have been late on payments many times and really couldn’t afford your exorbitant prices for services lots of other companies offer sometimes three times cheaper than what you charge, I have hung in there trying my best to meet my obligations.
This month has been no exception. You don’t know the background; the whole story of people’s lives. I know you could care less because all you care about is the profit-the money that comes in.
I was told when I agreed to pay my bill on the third per the recorded message that I had 14 days to pay…you cut me off anyway. The phones are not the tissue; your suspending my service means I cannot work. I may lose my job…how do you justify that? In any case? The least you could do would be to keep 4986 on and cut the phones off. But no. You refuse to compromise and meet the basic needs of your customer. What does that say about your company? I tried to call back on three separate occasions to tell you I couldn’t pay because of unexpected expenses but couldn’t get out of the automated system…sadly couldn’t get to a real person which also speaks volumes to me.
All this tells me this is a company I don’t wish to be affiliated with any more. As soon as I can, I will discontinue service with you…I know you could care less. I will honor the remaining portion of the contract but that’s it. You don’t deserve my business. I am a good, hardworking person who, at the sacrifice of myself and my needs, always pays her bills…albeit late at times. I realize others tell you stories and lies to justify themselves. That’s not me. If you knew what I had been through the last 7 yrs you would marvel that I am  still on my feet…don’t judge too quickly. You could be wrong…and in my eyes you are by doing this to me.
God will see us through this extremely scary time of that I have no doubt. No thanks to your company and lack of understanding and mercy. I am doing the best I can. Sadly you are not.
See I have choices. MANY choices of providers for services you offer. I don’t have to be treated like this. I don’t have to succumb to your coldness and callousness. I intend to choose better (and cheaper). If your company doesn’t get the “people factor” back you will be sorry.

Problem here is you admit you cannot afford the service.
And you want to blame Verizon for losing a job because you have no cell phone.
If your job depends on that phone I would pay it on time every time if you need a job to pay your bill.
No other service is going to treat you any different. And if you cannot afford Verizon's monthly invoice how are you going to afford new devices, activation fees, possible security deposits on any other cellular carrier? You can't.
Also if you made an arraignment to pay and then decide you cannot do so, why should Verizon extend you service or credit, or why is it you want to use the service and data and not pay for it as agreed.
Get a prepay phone. Its evident the cost is too high for you to afford on post pay.
    Good Luck

Can anyone tell me if when using a wifi device AT HOME does the usage come off your allocated broadband usage allowance?

There is a fair usage policy here

You have to actually connect to your BT wifi SSID, and not the normal home hub one, to take advantage of this.
You can tell if you are connected to BT wifi, as it will ask you to login using your primary e-mail details.

  • Do not disturb allowing email alert

Any one else having issues with the "Do not disturb" feature allowing email notifications in the midle of the night?
It was working fine until last night...
No changes have been made and I confirmed the settings. I should not alert me.

    Thanks Lawrence.
If I used a 3rd party email client for that account, does the iphone's do not disturb mute all 3rd party apps' notifications too? Or does it only mute phone, sms and mail?

Whatever the reasons are that you think the problem exists, you will not be able to resolve it on your own. Did you see this at the bottom of the support article that I suggested that you read?
    Additional Information
If the issue persists, you can visit iCloud Support, iTunes Support, Apple Print Products, or contact AppleCare for further assistance.
You should probably contact iTunes Support.

  • Allow email alerts from people that are on the DND bypass list

Is there any way to Allow email alerts from people that are on the DND bypass list, so that those notificvations still come through as expected?  I can get calls and SMS, but not emails.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

No. Sorry.  So far as I know, SMS messages should be silenced as well. Only calls from those you've opted to allow are permitted through. SMS messages will not sound a notification.

  • Allow Email When Comments are Posted

Allow Email When Comments are Posted
Allow configuration of email (configure who get the notification) when a comment field is used.  If the customer enters a comment, it would be nice to be able to email the provisioning team or the catalog team.  Additionally, it would be a nice feature to allow email from comments if the provisioning team updates the comments - allowing easier communication from within the tool.

We contacted newScale multipe times in the past year and multiple times before that on this feature and they mentioned they do not see the need for it.  Recently with the acquisition with Cisco, they are using RequestCenter/Workplace portal in a much larger audience and it seems they see the need for it now.  I can't say where it stands on the priority list though.
That being said,  our company has implemented this feature through the use of a custom ServiceLink Comment Adapter.  It will email the customer/initiator/performer and anybody else who else is on a Carbon Copy field when a comment is added.  Comments can either notify or not notify.  So when performers are just updating the comments for a worklog type of thing, they don't notify anyone.  When they need to collaboration then they tell it to notify.  Customer/Initiators on the otherhand default to always notify.  The email template then includes the comment text.  It's very useful and definitely a major gap I see with the out of the box system.  We also can detect when fields are changed and send email notifications on what field changed and what the basis of those changes are.  Use cases for this are for when files are uploaded or when a description is updated as part of a workflow.  The parties on the request can then understand what's happening without having to go into the system.  This field change notification is a preference that a user turns on globally or on a request by request basis.

  • Monthly usage allowance

What ever happened to broadband option 1, I never download anything on pc yet I am being charged for going over my 10G usage allowance, how????

If you have only PCs / Laptops you could download something like Networx and install on each PC. This will allow you to see by PC / user the amount of data being down / uploaded.
There is also the online monitor
    https://www.bt.com/appsyouraccount/secure/cyahub.do
Click the link above and login with a bt.com ID associated with your BB phone number. Then scroll down to ‘Manager your services’, and click on the ‘Broadband’ tab. There is an option ‘View your broadband usage’. Unfortunately not everyone can get access to this area, and so far there seems to be no specific reason for this.

Something conflicting with Adobe Flash that won't allow email attachments in gmail
I have been speaking with senior techs in the google forum, and they suggested I post here.  There is something about my computer settings or security software is  conflicting with Adobe Flash.
I did a clean install of both Flash 10 and Firefox 3.5.7 (I uninstalled the previous versions).
The problem is with gmail.  I get the error message when  attaching files:
"Attachment failed. This may be due to a proxy or  firewall."
    Any ideas???
    Using Firefox 3.5.7
    Using MAC  OS 10.4.11
    Using Flash 10
I do not have security software, proxy or firewall settings.
I started a question in these forums:

So if your not using a Flash app, not running a flash program, and you are using a browser on a remote mailserver, why would you think Flash is the issue?
Secondly if you are not using the Flash CS3/4 program somewhere in the loop, than you would be better served in the Flash Player forum, this is a Flash Developers forum. Sounds more like gmail may use some flash components to display something, but should not have an effect on file transfer unless your Flash settings deny it. You have to allow local content from being run with active x/flash.

  • Broadband Usage Allowance

I have recently been exceeding my monthly usage allowance of 40GB resulting in additional charges being applied to my account. I have never previously exceeded my allowance.
I wanted to gain a better understanding of what specific content being downloaded might be causing this so I called the Broadband Helpline.
The person who was based in India said that to give the information requested would be breaching Data Protection so I am no further forward.
I don't want to switch to an unlimited contract so am at a loss as to what to do.
    Could someone please help ?

That is correct. Instead of standard quality video, it wiil select HD video on things like Youtube and iPlayer.
If you have than many devices in use, especially if you stream video, or do gaming, you will soon use up 40Gb.
If you upgrade in the same month as your excess usage, BT normally do not charge for that excess.
Keep a watch on the broadband monitor, on a daily basis, to see what you are using. Remember uploads and dowloads count.
If you are on a discounted deal, you may find that the amount of the discount, is applied to the upgrade price, for the remainder of your contract.

  • Usage allowance is near its limit

    Hi
I have just got an e-mail stating that my usage allowance is near its limit (7GB of 10BG). I just have 2 questions really.
Is there a way of seeing how much you have used on your account (i cant seem to find it any where) or is it just the e-mail warning?
Also when is the start date of ur limit and when does it reset again?
    Thanks
    Dan

    >and yes i am useing the home hub, how do i use the builtin useage monitor? Just go to the home page http://bthomehub.home/ and it will tell you the data transmitted and received since the connection was last reset. TThe figure is reset to zero any time the home hub is rebooted or needs to re-connect, so you have to monitor it regularly to keep track of the actual usage. The figure will include usage that isn't chargeable, such as BT Digital Vault and BT Vision.

Don't worry, using BT TV, BT Cloud or BT Broadband Talk doesn't add to your usage limit.
Also, great news if you're a sports fan. Any content you watch or stream via the BT Sport app and online player using your BT Broadband connection will not count against your broadband usage limit, so you can enjoy great live sport without the worry.
