Wheres the N95-3 firmware upgrade to match N95-1 v...

I have a N95-1 with v20 firmware and the changes in the camera software are like night and day as far as speed and operability of the camera.. Now I own a N95-3 and it is still on v11 firmware. The camera software is old and archaic worse then the original non-updated N95-1. Its so slow it makes using the camera totally unbearable.
NOKIA CAN WE PLEASE GET A FIRMWARE UPGRADE FOR THE N95-3 THAT WILL MATCH THE V20 FIRMWARE ON THE N95-1.

I paid for the phone 600$ and no Firmware update and this is my first Nokia Phone , I am NOT happy NOKIA
I will never , never again bay your product !!!
Is it because we are in North America that we do not deserve the update...
We need some answers Nokia
Thank You !!!!

If you tried resetting the ipod and it still keeps having the same issue you described, try setting the ipod to disk mode.
Here is an article from the apple support website on setting the ipod to disk mode.

If you can get the ipod into disk mode, connect it to the computer and rrestore the ipod using itunes.
if the ipod will not go into disk mode, you can return the ipod or set the ipod up for service via the apple ipod service depot.

  • N95 8GB + Firmware Upgrade + Wireless LAN = Crash!

I recently upgraded to newest firmware. Now using wifi causes occasional crashes.
I use the browser and it works for a while, but sometimes a page will not load (the progress bar will just keep slowly moving). So I stop it and exit the browser. On the main screen It still shows I'm connected. However if I select my connection it doesn't show the 'disconnect' option. If I select 'search for wlan' it just crashes (well not a complete crash: I can get into menus and some applications work but the main screen is messed up and I can't make calls).
I basically have to turn the phone off and on again.
I set wireless settings to default. Also I have removed my saved wireless networks and connected from scratch. I have tried both WPA and open authentication (on two different routers). One sure way to make it crash is trying to login at hotmail.com but it happens to many sites.
Everything worked fine with my old firmware (v20.X?, I can't remember).
    Currently this is what I have: V 31.2.008 RM-421
I really don't want to downgrade my firmware or reset all the settings.
Will a fix be coming out soon? I thought this would be a common problem but I couldn't find any fix out there.

I can connect to a WLAN network and use the WLAN connection for a few minutes.  Within 5 minutes of initiating the connection, the connection stops working.  The WLAN icon still appears in the upper right corner of the Standby screen, the WLAN section below the Calendar entries in the middle of the Standby screen says I am connected to the Wireless Access Point and Connection Manager shows the WLAN access point as still being connected.  Even if I completely power off the Wireless Access Point and leave it off, the WLAN icon never leaves the Standby screen and Connection Manager says I am conencted, even though I am obviously not.  This state of the handset thinking it is connected, but not actually being connected causes the battery to drain rapidly, not to mention no access to the network. Any attempt to disconnect the connection via the Connection Manager will cause the phone to become unstable and lock up.  Only a battery pull will restore access to the handset.  I have access to and have tested this on various models of access point including Linksys WAP4400N, Cisco Aironet 1131AG, Cisco Aironet AP-1220B Netgear WGR614v6 and Qwest GT701-WG and the results are the same.  I have tried various channels and both 802.11B and 802.11G and the result is the same.  I have tested various security settings including no security, WEP, WPA1 and WPA2 and the result is the same.  I have tried resetting the phone to factory defaults via Settings in the menu. I have tried resetting with *#7370# and not restoring from a backup.  I reconfigured the phone from scratch.  I have tried resetting via powering on the phone while holding * + TALK + 3, again reconfiguring from scratch.  I tried reinstalling the firmware via Nokia PC Suite, again reconfiguring from scratch (I have no idea why, but after I reinstalled the firmware, the reinstall firmware option is now gone from Nokis Software Updater.  I can't reinstall this version ever again apparently).  I can duplicate this issue after a fresh reinstall with no applications installed and all settings at factory defaults.  This is obviously a problem with the firmware.  I sent my under warranty phone in for repair.  We'll see what they say.

  • The firmware upgrade file is not supported on this hardware version MI424-WR Hardware Ver. C

Hello - I have been troubleshooting for quite some time a problem that only occurs on my wireless devices.  8 out of 10 times I fail to obtain a IP address from my MI424-WR.  My connection to the device is successful, however, DHCP times out.  I have connected to many other wireless routers in other locations in the last 4 weeks and have isolated my issue to my connection with my FIOS router.  That is to say that when I am elsewhere I do not have this problem.  I contacted support today, and the tech I spoke to was very nice and also clueless.  What is the latest/current hardware ver of the MI424-WR Verizon is shipping?  The tech said he could not tell me what ver the one he had in a lab was.  If l log into the router under firmware upgrade I notice the message in my subject.  I have had FIOS here with the same router since 9/2007.  Any help would be apreciated.

That brings up something I have been curious about...could you see if this might work for you?
-First and foremost, log into the router
-At the top click Wireless Settings
-Go into basic security settings on the left and change the channel to 11 (yes, I know this doesn't work for all but please read on) and apply
-Now back on the left side menu choose advanced security settings, enter 802.11b/g Mode
---Honestly, most people should need G only by now, but choose what you need here (avoid mixed) and apply
-Go back onto the left menu and try advanced wireless settings again but this time choose "Other Advanced Wireless Options" at the bottom
-Change MTU to "manual" and enter in "1492" in the field it provides and apply
-Now at the top right go into advanced settings
-Click on the link for "System settings"
-In here UNCHECK the "Enable Logging" and "Low Capacity Notification" options and apply
I don't think they would be able to tell you which version is being shipped, because I am sure the new routers are coming with the new firmware and the old they send out first.  But yeah, give that a shot and see if that does anything to help your wireless machines connect.  I am kind of curious if that will change anything.

  • Avoiding Firmware Upgrade Grief

Assuming that you have a non-UDP (User Data Preservation) phone, like the N95, a firmware upgrade can be a major thrash. Many posts in this forum attest to these problems, but they continue to occur, in part because of inadequate instructions.
Here are some thoughts that might be helpful:
    1) FIRST: Ask yourself "WHY am I doing this?" If your aren't looking for any specific fix that you KNOW the firmware upgrade will address, then at least admit that you are possibly doing it "just because it's there." For those of us who have no other Everest in sight, that might be sufficient reason. But, it is a violation of the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" maxim. I know you know.
    2) SECOND: If you are still going to do this, make the appropriate backups. Plural. In spite of the rather glib advice on the firmware upgrade screen, backups to your Memory Card are NOT/NOT equivalent to those made with Nokia PC Suite. I'll explain why in a bit. Sure, go ahead and do both, but the Nokia PC Suite backup is the (only) one that will be likely to get you out of the woods. And that, only partially.
    a. Backups to a Memory Card give you NO CONTROL over what is backed up OR restored. It's all or nothing, and sometimes what's included in "All" is just enough to trash your newly-updated phone.
    b. Backups with Nokia PC Suite allow YOU to CHOOSE both what you want to backup and restore. So, backup everything if you like, but realize that you NOT successfully restore a highly customized system in one fell swoop after a firmware upgrade. But you CAN get back the essentials (if you have made the backups). By "essentials," I mean user-created data that you could not recreate easily or at all (contacts, messages, etc.). I do NOT mean specific applications, which you should be able to reinstall separately.
    c. What about all of those Nokia Maps locations? Go to your Landmarks application, select every one you might ever want to see again, and then SEND them to another compatible Nokia phone via Infrared. Save them all on the second phone (you can reverse the process to get them back on your main phone). Wait: You are thinking about a firmware upgrade and have no comparably functional backup phone? Please reread item 1) above
    d. Did you have to do any MANUAL configuration of Packet Data Access Points? I did before I could get my N95 to work as a modem for other devices. Write those details down somewhere. You'll need them. Same for WPA encryption keys and SSIDs. Consider putting this info in the fields of one of your contacts, so you can later use cut/paste to enter your encryption keys for your APs.
    e. Make a list of every purchased application you have currently installed, even if you don't intend on using them again. Make sure you have product registration codes available. You'll need them.
Attempts to do an overly-comprehensive restore after firmware upgrade can cause serious problems such as loss of both 3G and WiFi data connectivity. That should be enough to get anyone's attention. It got mine after the fact! If you make careful, incremental backups of crucial information and are willing to be patient, you can eventually get your system back the way you want it.
    3) BACKUPS all done? Too bad Nokia provides no verification process outside of the PC Suite log, but it usually works well-enough without it.
    4) UPGRADE your firmware. Follow all of the advice and cautions but don't believe the part about a backup to your SD card being remotely adequate. It might be, but most likely only if you have very little customization and no or few third-party apps.
    5) NEXT: Get your basic settings (time, date, etc) right.
    6) THEN: Connect to PC Suite and RESTORE only your Contacts and Text Messages. Confirm that all restored.
    7) NOW: Insert your SD card and IMMEDIATELY set your own PW for the card (if you had previously removed it). If you had applications on the SD card, some might work, others won't, and you'll probably get an "Installing" message followed by an error message to the effect that the applications could not be installed. Ignore the message to try to restore them yourself from the card. Don't (usually) bother to try to remove them, either, as that often doesn't work.
    8) THEN: Recreate your WiFi connections and (if your provider-issued APs aren't right) your Packet Data APs. Make sure they work. Test by using your browser. No point trying to install products which require working data connections as part of the install process (e.g., gMail, Truphone) before confirming that such connections are available.
    9) ALMOST DONE: Start reinstalling all of your prior applications. I suggest (if you have the choice) that you put them where they were before (SD Card or internal phone memory). If there are any you want to ditch, go back and remove them after first reinstalling them. That tends to get rid of the nagging "Installing" message.
    10) FINALLY: Take it slowly, and set priorities. Put your essential apps on first, and remember that much of your customization probably took place over a period of days, weeks or months. Cumulatively, that might represent hours of tweaking. Re-tweaking will take no less time. Spread some of it out for your own sanity.
What have I forgotten? Probably plenty, and I'm sure someone else might be able to provide other, equally valid approaches, or suggestions which complement those offered above.

Very useful post. However I have to say that all those steps are necessary even if you have a FP2 phone with UDP. From my experience all that UDP does is to screw up your phone even more after a firmware upgrade. It's always better to start with a clean slate anyway

    Hi,
We just upgraded the Cisco Call manager on IBM xSeries 345 MT-8670-M1X server with Cisco patch WIN-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-4-2sr6.exe. After upgrade we got this error message about IBMC ServeRaid 5i controller card.
"Version mismatch detected: controller 1. The BIOS (version 6.10.24), Firmware (version 6.10.24), and Driver (version 7.10.18) are not a matched set and are not compatible."
We download the BIOS/firmware upgrade Disk from this web site.
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62462
During the upgrade, the server continues ask insert disk1.
Also this site does not have the latest device drive for IBM ServeRaid 5i in windows 2000 server.
I need some help and you will get my highest vote
    1. Where can I get the proper BIOS/Firmware upgrade disk from Cisco?
    2. During the upgrade stage, why the server always ask “insert disk 1”. I have tried all 5 disks. But none of the work. I disconnect the mirri during the upgrade. Does it affect the upgrade?
    3. Where can I get the latest device driver for 5i work with windows 2000 server?

  • Lost v 51 firmware features in E72 firmware upgrad...

Have not seen this in any thread. The 051.xx firmware upgrade resolved an irritating feature where the screensaver would kick in when you are reading email. Post my v74.xx upgrade this annoying feature is back. Any advice on how this can be resolved and am I the only one seeing this.

Its embedded, yes, but Nokia did not design the software. On further notice, since it is firmware embedded, user files, or systems files which change with usage of the phone has an effect on firmware updates.
Note that many bugs which occur after firmware updates are fixed by a hard reset+installation, meaning these bugs are user inflicted upon themselves. Files they have created, or system files created as they use the phone are apparently incompatible with the new update, rendering the installation of the update faulty.
Also firmware have been tested in Nokia labs before being send, what Nokia has no control over is the status of your phone, your PC and whatever occurs in the internet connection and lines as the data travels from the servers to your phone.
You can try to have the phone reformatted and firmware reinstalled in a Nokia Care Center as they usually get the updates in CD format, meaning these files they have are completely fine.

I just completed the latest TC firmware upgrade. My airport connection no longer works and the light on front of the TC just keeps flashing. What do I need to do?
    Thanks,

  • Firmware upgrade killed my superdrive

I just installed the new superdrive firmware upgrade using software update, and it killed my superdrive. It does not make any sound (normally it would make a disengaging and engaging sound when rebooting) and I cannot insert a disc (it doesn't pull it in when I try).
My MacBook is 13 months old.

I did not try to use my superdrive yet (I am scared after reading all the other messages...), but since I got the new download of firmware last week, every time I turn on the computer, I get the following message: "No Update Devices Found. No devices were found that require this firmware update" and then the option to press "quit" is given...
What is that? I am sure there is something wrong with it. It looks like some of those obscure popups that show up on PCs and nobody knows how to get rid of them.... I hope my Mac does not start behaving like a PC...

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer - Firmware Upgrade

In her apartment, my elderly mother has an HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer, that I set up for her.
It’s hooked up, via WiFi, to her Router that's attached to her Cable Modem.
She doesn't have her own PC. She has only the printer.
When the printer was first purchased, I brought the printer and my Windows XP laptop to her home and installed the printer there.
I email documents to her printer's HP ePrint email address, and I also print web pages to the printer using Google Cloud Print. I do this from my own home, to send her information from the Internet.
An email was received today, saying the following:
"A free firmware upgrade is required to keep your ePrint and associated Print Apps service working. Please go to www.hp.com/go/eprint, download the newest firmware, and continue using your ePrint solution. If you do not complete the upgrade, your ePrint and Print Apps may not work after Hewlett-Packard has finished a service upgrade on 08/07/2013.
Devices requiring the free firmware upgrade are as follows:
HP LaserJet Pro P1100 Series (model HP LaserJet Pro P1102w)”
Is there any way for me to use my Windows XP laptop, to connect to the printer, remotely over the Internet, via the printer's HP ePrint email address, or via the HP Connected account, or in any other way,
and initiate the printer’s firmware upgrade, without leaving my home?
    Thank you.

  • Creative Zen Microphoto - "Firmware upgrade failed&qu

    Hi,
two days ago my Zen Microphoto started in "Recovery Mode".
I had no means of getting out. I first selected "Clean Up" and rebooted, still "Recovery Mode".
Then I downloaded the latest firmware version for it:
    ZENMicroPhoto_PCFW_L6__3_0.exe
Then I selected "Upgrade Firmware", acknowledged with "Yes", the firmware was deleted, but the windows firmware application said "no player connected" after connecting the player.
Okay, after googling a bit, I found out that I needed to downgrade from WMP to WMP 0.
I (painfully) did this and after installing an additional Registry Key via fixup.cmd the
    ZENMicroPhoto_PCFW_L6__3_0.exe
detected the player (hurray!). It showed "Current Player Firmware Version .20.0 " and "Upgrade File Version .3.0".
When clicking on "Upgrade" at the windows application, the blue progress bar appeared and the player showed "Recovery Mode" and a blinking USB logo.
What it did NOT show afterwards was a gear symbol with "Upgrading firmware" (which I found on a screenshot in the internet).
When the blue progress bar of the windows firmware upgrade application reached about 85% it halted and after minute the windows firmware application showed "Firmware upgrade failed!" while the player only showed a black screen with "Recovery Mode" and the green battery symbol at the top.
I also tried the same procedure with
ZenMicroPhotoP4S_PCFW_LB__20_0.exe with the same result: "Firmware upgrade failed!"
Any ideas how to "repair" the player
