ZEN V Pus froz

Well, i was using the line-in line-out cable to record a song from Myspace.
and when i unplugged it and the song was done then it said "processing" an usually it takes maybe 20 seconds to process, well this happend last night and the "processing" screen is still on it. I have pushed every button that i know of and nothing has happend. I think that this is a horrible product, and should be remade to not... break a couple months after use. I have reaed the forums, and it seems that alot of the Creative products have some problems with them. If anybody has any assistence to fix thjis problem.. then pelase let me know. thank you.

  • Zen micro just froze up! he

I bought a Zen Micro 5gm from Ebay many months ago and immediately downloaded over 000 songs onto it. I was just using it last night and plugged it in to recharge the battery and then decided to listen to it today. It powered up and as soon as it got past the creative screen, it said something like "please choose what songs to play from your music library" and to get weirder, when i went to the menu and chose music library, all tracks, it just froze up and did nothing.........it wouldn't power off, so i took the battery out, replaced it, and tried again. It did the exact same thing. It has been working so well, no problems ever, and i have never dropped it or anything like that. It seems that it can't even find my music files. The bad thing is, I don't have those 000 songs backed up on my computer or anything, it took me months to customize my library and download the songs. It is freezing up and i can't find any of my songs that were all there last night!
What should I do? I don't have the original warranty anymore. I don't have a hard copy of a manual either. This is the first mp3 player i've ever had, so i'm fairly new to the whole process and am not sure what to do in order for it to work properly and NOT lose all my music files. HELP! And, just in case I do get this up and working right without losing my music library, is there a way to be able to send my music library back to my computer and save it somehow?
I am fairly computer literate so I'm able to follow instructions or directions, but I really hate the thought of having to download all those songs again, some of them were almost impossible to get in the first place.
Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

  • Zen touch is froz

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I cannot turn it off, and all buttons seem to not work. When I plug it into my computer, the screen will change to the "Docked" screen, but the computer does not recognize that it is their (computer won't upload the zen touch's library or playlists)
I mustn't be the only one that this has happened to?

  • Creative Zen Mozaic 8GB Froze!

I own a Mozaic 8GB and have since June. It's never given me any problems until today. I listened to it earlier in the day and turned it off. When I turned the player back on and listened to a song, the song played fine, but there was a sort of staticky sound at the end that I'd never heard before. After that, I went to the albums menu and selected an album. I tried to play the album, but the player has since froze on the track listing for that album.
Nothing will work. If I press any of the keys, the screen lights up, so it recognizes that I've pushed the keys, but nothing moves on the screen. If I plug it into my computer, the computer registers that it's there, but it doesn't show up on the Centrale software, nor does the device say "docked."
I can't locate a reset button anywhere on the player and I have no idea what's wrong with it. Can anyone help?

good thing you found it. i was about to say the same thing

  • Zen V Plus, froz

Hey I left my zen v plus, 4 gig, connected to my computer for the whole night because I didn't want to wait for all my songs to download before I went to bed. Anyway, in the morning I disconnected it and started checking out my new song lists to see how things worked out. Everything worked fine untill I went in this folder and then tried to go back to the main menu. Now the screen is frozen, i've tried to power it off and it doesn't work. I also tried to reconnect it to the usb to see if i could control it from the computer or something but when i opened up the zen v plus application for browsing the media it told me that the v plus wasn't connect. I left the thing at home, hoping it dies down and then i can recharge or something but i'm thinking i might have to get a replacement. Has anyone had this problem to? Any suggestions??Also, what is the best procedure to disconnect it from your computer?Message Edited by sniahcire on -27-200606:39 AM

Did _you_ try fixing your buggy firmware so that your customers don't have to reboot their mp3 players? My kids just got Zen V players and they have hung several times in the past two weeks.
How about providing some useful information:
. How do we find out what firmware version we have?
    2. What firmware versions have the hang bug?
    3. When can we expect working software?

  • Zen Micro- Indefinitely Froz

[size="2" face="Verdana">I've had my zen micro for about a year, because I got it last Christmas. I've listened to it frequently since I first got it. Just recently, I have come very close to filling up my memory. But I guess I am using too much memory and my zen keeps [color="#6633ff">freezing up. Yes, I've read all of the help tutorials but they talk about [color="#00cc33">recovery mode, formatting,?clean up, and things of that nature. • Zen Micro Photo froze up with adding playlist while audio was play

This morning, I was listening to a track and tried adding a predefined playlist by clicking on the menu (lower right) button and selecting "Add to Selected". A box box appeared and a buzzing sound was heard in my headphones. At this point, the player froze. All efforts to revi've it by shutting down the payer failed. I finally resorted to removing and re-inserting the battery. After getting a "Rebuilding Library" messages for several minutes, the player shut down, and all appears to be normal now. Should I be able to perform this action? I have been able to add an album while another album is playing without a problem. This playlist is quite large - some 50 plus mp3 tracks. Thanks to any and all........

The key pad is locked up. It will reboot however, it will not allow me to select cleanup, reformat, or any other selection. New firmware didn't change anything. I've sent it back to Creative. Now the long wait...

  • My 2 week old Zen Sleek just froze

    Hello all,
I was just raving to somebody how great my Sleek was. A few minutes ago I unplugged it from the computer and it says "Docked" & "Please Wait". It also has the "plug" sign where the battery is supposed to be. I tried to turn it off, but all it did was light the screen up which worries me since it won't go off now. None of the buttons work & the computer doesn't recognize it. This can't be right since it's only 2 weeks old. I already put 200 songs on it. Is it broken? Any help is appreciated... This is really frustrating.
    Thanks.

Did you safely remove it from the computer? or, was the acti've dock on when you disconnected it's These might cause hangs.
Try resetting it. I haven't seen/touched a real Zen sleek (it is not available in my region yet), so I can't tell you where the reset button is - refer to the manuel.

No, your player is not broken. Just reset it and it will be fine. It's no uncommon for HDD-based player to just hang like that. However, it should not be too often, perhaps once in a blue moon.

  • My Zen Neeon is froz

It wont play music, it wont switch off and when i connect to my laptop, it's not being detected

and i just fixed the problem myself! *smacks forehead* yay for reset buttons!

  • MY ZEN V PLUS FROZE

i had it docked into my computer so it could charge and when i took it out this morning, it still said it was docked. i tried reseting it but it didnt do anything, the screen says it's still docked. anyone else have the same problem and could help me out with this?

Okay, I found out that a regular push pin was too big to reset the player (Wow that is a small hole!) So I got a staple, and used that. It is now "Re-building Library". Hopefully this will be the end of my problems.

  • Zen Touch 20GB Froze & Won't Shut D

Can someone help. I guess I need to go into rescue mode, BUT, all
indications say I must shut down the player first.
    What do I do?
    Thank you for any help.

    Hi,
I have the same problem. I received mine as a gift (less than a month old) and i could not get it to turn off, i'd only be able to reset the device and then it would try and boot up and freeze at the splash screen with a horizontal black pixel high line then streetching across the screen. Power button does not work even if you try and power down as soon as you reset (tried many unsuccessful attempts at this).
I purchased mine through newegg and they gave me an RMA and i sent it out yesterday actually. I did some extensi've reseach before calling and it seems that it is some type of a hard dri've hardware failure. I'd contact creative or your retailes customer support to see your next step.
    Good luck!

  • Zen 4gb froze - pressed reset - now won't respond at all

My 4 month old Zen 4bg player froze while uploading an mp3 song. Finally hit reset button but now the unit won't respond to anything.
I have Windows XP and the Zen battery is fully charged. I am not sure?of the firmware?version.
I have tried the Play - Reset - On/Off switch sequence but nothing happens. I have tried this both connected via USB and also unconnected.
When I plug it into the USB port my computer makes the sound for a new connection and the 'bubble' says new hardware but it does not display in Device Manager. Zen Media Manager says the unit is NOT connected.
I have sent an email to support but am awaiting a reply. Any suggestions on what to try next?
    Thank you.

<Thanks for the response. My Zen is not stuck at a screen -- it is totally blank. I've tried the reset sequences involving the on/off switch and the play button but I get absolutely NO response. I can't get to the Recovery screen at all.
I am puzzled as to why my computer beeps when I plug/unplug the Zen into the USB port but nothing recognizes it. The only thing that support has suggested so far is the same as suggested on this board.
    Thanks, Kathleen

  • Zen Micro problem need help

Today i was listening to music and my zen micro just froze while playing and no buttons could be pressed and the lock button wasnt on. So i took the battery out and rebooted the player but it froze at the creative screen. I went home and i went to recovery mode and tried to reload the firmware but it said erasing firmware for more than 2 hours. So then i tried a format but it said formating for the same amount of time. I need help please. Also, recently i've had problems witht the headphone jack. When ever i would stick it in it would sound distorted and i would have to move it around until i got it to a certain spot to hear it good again. If anyone else has this problem please tell me. One more thing i had returned my other micro zen in for hard dri've probems and this was my new one do u think if i have to return in (hopefully not) that they would accept it.

If the functions in Rescue Mode aren't working properly then you need to contact Creative Support.

  • Zen Micro freezing on connect

    Hi
I just bought my Zen Micro today and had no problems with it at first. I charged it until it was fully charged and then plugged it into my computer. It was detected by the computer and everything seemed to be working well. I ran Media Explorer and imported some music into my Zen Micro. I disconnected my Zen Micro from the computer and tried out the music. Everything was fine.
So I decided to plug it back into my computer and import some more music. The Zen Micro was again detected. I run Media Explorer again but this time it indicates that the player isn't plugged in properly. At this time my Zen Micro had froze. So I took out the battery and tried it again. I plugged it into my computer and ran Media Explorer and I got the same result.
So I tried the Clean Disk method and rebooted. It still wouldn't work. I tried to download the firmware update but when I connected my Zen Micro to the computer and tried updating, the firmware program would indicate that my Zen Micro could not be detected even though Windows detected it. My Zen would also freeze up.
So this time I tried formatting it from the same menu with the Clean Disk option. It still didn't work. So I tried using the different USB ports on my computer and it still didnt work. So I went over to my brother's computer and sadly I got the same result. So I tried downloading the updated version of the Media Explorer. Even then I still got the same result.
Can someone please help me~? I really don't want to have to return this lovely player because I got the last Limited Edition box at the store I bought it at. ThanksMessage Edited by hakuto on 0-03-2005 06:38 AM

Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem? I too have ran into a brick wall where the Zen Micro will crash whenever connected to a PC (or mac at that), but will not crash when connected to the AC adaptor. This happens after multiple disk cleanups, formats, and even a firmware reload, although the problem still remains and now I cannot even load a firmware to the player. I also tried using another USB to Mini USB cable I have lying around, only to the same results.
Please help ASAP so I can finish this review...
    Best regards,
    -R. Scott Clark
