Help desk ticket options "close"

With an open ticket is there a way to add more options in
the drop down for “close”? close as duplicate, and waiting on user are the only
available choices.

Having one of those days :-)
Can't seem to find anything on if having Waiting on User in affect on a ticket stops its tracking time. I hope it does, because a single long term ticket can completely screw up your ticket response times.

  • Help Desk Tickets not updating when Refreshing (7.4.00070)

I usually create tickets right from the Help Desk (Open Tickets) screen, and lately I've been noticing that sometimes when I create a ticket, (and assign it to myself) it won't show up in the queue until I navigate off of the page and then back. (Like clicking Dashboard, and then back to Tickets). Clicking the [Refresh Tickets] button doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure if it's a bug, or a performance issue (but my VM running Spiceworks seems to be happily chugging along.)
Client: Win 7 x64 Pro, connecting via Comodo Dragon (V43.3something)
Server: Server 2012R2 (Virtual Machine- 6 cores, 8GB of RAM) running Spiceworks as a service
Network: Under 250 devices, Gigabit connections to/from server, less than 500 tickets.

I have just tried to install that update but again it tells me "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact software manufacturer for assistance"
Is there some way of finding what is wrong?
I really have been trying to update for months now.
    Thanks

  • Merging help desk tickets

is there a way that i can relate a ticket that was opened as a duplicate without closing it?
i would like to have the ability to relate multiple tickets back to a single master ticket. the lesser tickets would get a reference in some way to the master and the master would then be the single source of documentation, time recording, etc. and when i close the master it would close the lesser tickets at that time. this would allow us to clean up the queue much more effectively, without causing end users to see there ticket closed and wonder why we closed without resolution.

    Hi Major,
There are various ways to achive the same
1 one ways is enter the SAP component or
    2 another way
IF you already configured the Team option or created the ORG model for support team for HR PP etc then
goto crm_dno_monitor tcode and ther that bp here and then press execute to get the data for that team
or you can provide more restriction using the Posting Date or Status etc
later you can create a variant and assign that to user roles with Basis help this will solve ur problem completely

  • Selecting Cateogry in Help Desk Ticket Not Working

We have entered custom Categories for selecting when a ticket is created.  When selecting from the drop down and clicking the Save button, nothing shows that the selection was saved and the memory on the Spiceworks server spikes which causes Spiceworks to crawl.  We are on version 7.4.00060

Before you bother reinstalling make sure you are not trying to edit a muxed file like mpeg-1 or -2. QT does not support editing of muxed files so the edit commands are not active when one is loaded. If you are not sure whether it is muxed, check the Movie Info item in the Windows menu to see what the format of the loaded movie is.

  • Help installing help desk plug in

I'm trying to install the plug in to modify the default help desk ticket views: https://community.spiceworks.com/appcenter/app/plugin_1454I'm running version 7.4.00070 of Spiceworks. The plug in says it works with versions 7.1+I've installed, cloned, edited and saved the plugin per the instructions. I didn't see the expectedchanges to the list view or menu. I cleared out my cache and tried again, no changes. I then restarted the Spiceworks service and still no changes. I uninstalled and reinstalled, cloned, edited and saved again, still no luck. I tried it on IE11 and Chrome, same thing. I'm tagging the creator of this plug in in hopes of getting some help. Thanks in advance!

  • Provisioning User IDs in Remedy Help Desk with Sun IdM 7.0.

    Hi,
Our team is in the process of defining a approach to provision user IDs in Remedy Help Desk system using Sun IdM version 7.0.
What we wanted to know is whether it is possible to use the Remedy resource adapter bundled with Sun IdM 7.0 to provision user IDs. We think that this resource adapter is used to provision help desk tickets into the help desk system and not user IDs. Is the understanding correct?
If user IDs cannot be provisioned using the resource adapter, we are planning the following approach to provision user IDs into Remedy:
    1. Understand the table schema of the Remedy database.
    2. Configure the Database Table resource adapter to provision into the Remedy user tables.
We are looking for inputs from people who have come across a similar design issues with Remedy Help Desk and could validate our design approach. We will highly appreciate any inputs on this.
    Thank You.
    Regards,
    Vallabh Vengulekar.

  • Help Desk Segregation

We currently use the Help Desk ticketing system in Spiceworks"which is awesome for our needs", but I would like to open this up to staff-non IT to have a ticketing and tracking amongst themselves for items outside of IT. Is it possible to has this segregation from IT tickets and general staff so they can collaborate on items without having access to IT data "tickets"? I would prefer to have only one instance of Spiceworks, but may need to have 2 different installs. Any info would be much appreciated!! Thanks

I had this problem also.  After contacting Cisco, they informed me that the Help Desk Administrator role doesn't have the authority to make chages to accounts that have higher privileges such as System Administrators and Help Desk administrators.
Basically, the Help Desk role can only make changes to users.

  • Any way to give Help Desk Users access to tickets by Category?

As far as I know, there's just no way to do this.  The user roles are not very flexible and really don't provide any middle ground by design.  You can either see all tickets or you can see only tickets assigned to you.

So we have our first level Help Desk people that get ALL the tickets that come in.  They are Help Desk Admins as they route things around and manage the system.
We also have our Database team that we sometimes have to assign tickets to.  We don't want them to see all the tickets so I think I have to set them as Help Desk Users.
Based on the documentation, this means they won't see anything except what's already assigned to them personally.
What we'd like to be able to do is create a Category called Database and set the Database users up so they can see their own tickets and any ticket that's assigned to the Database Category.  Is there any way to do this or an alternative way that we can accomplish the same end result?
    Thanks.

  • CQ1050FR desk top DVD drive would not open, used paper clip as advised in help now won't close

would not open, used paper clip as advised in help now won't close, error message

OK, I decided to upgrade to Mavericks. 1st I checked to see if Parallels 8 woudl work w it. It said yes, but upgrade parallels 8 1st so I did that (& then realized I should update virus def & run Windows updates also. Don't use it very much  180 days ago it said).
Then saw some reports of mail not working so well so decided to clean out a lot of un-needed emails on my Mac. Also ran updates to Mountain Lion.
Then closed everything & shut down. Left it off for a few min to clear out any left over electronic garbage & rebooted. Opened App store & clicked the Mavericks free download. Almost immediated it gave me error message & suggested doing it from the Purchased section.
Ok, I tried downloading it there. 2-3 times got same almost immediate error message.
Then, I think it was after disconnecting external HD & printer I tried again & it was looking good w download. It was fluctuating between 40-45 min time remaining & showing almost 500 mb downloaded when I got the error message again.
btw, I also got an error message when running Windows update. There was an unknown error code when I tried updating Service Pack 1 (which it showed I needed, although I'm thinking that is kind of strange since I've had Windows 7 on a MacBookPro since shortly after I bought the original MacBookPro in April 2010. (Spilled water on it last May & Apple store said it would need expensive repair so bought this replacement that they used my Time Machine backups to install everything on. This was right as I was getting ready to move & I haven't yet found the old one to see if maybe it would work. It should be in one of my boxes).
So, if it is having this much trouble just getting it installed I'm kind of afraid to go ahead. Wondering why some report it works fine & a lot of others saying no.
I very frustrated since I just want to be able to have the functionality I had to be able to sync Numbers between my iPad & my Mac.

  • Help Desk Availability

I am contemplating upgrading our ZEN 3.2 to ZEN 4.1 for the simple reason
that I know the help desk feature is removed from ZEN 4.1. On the other
hand I have heard from unconfirmed source, that if you upgrade from ZEN
version 3.2 you still get to keep this feature. My question is " Is this
true ?" Please let me know, thanks in advance.

That was actually one of the BIGGEST ones.
The logic cappable is VERY strong.
    IF [(A and B) and ( C or D)] or ( X and Y)
My Primary Client currently runs ZFD3.x and we are planning a fairly
    quick ZFD6.5 rollout.
The seperation of the Agent from the Client will be very nice.
I am currently able to do a lot of ZEN Client repair such as
    reinstalling the NALNT Service,
Regeistering Workstations, Deleting Corrupt WSObjects followd by a
    reimport, etc........
All designed to keep ZEN working properly.
The one thing I can't do is stop the Techs from forgetting to do custom
installs that include the WSMgr service.
Fixing this now requires a full client intall. Something that is not
quite a silent background option like all else.
MSI Apps will now be able to be set to Force-Run prior to User Logon
like snapshots are now for WSObj based snaps.
Both Inventory and Remote Control take further advances - Leaps over
    ZFD3.x
The Beta comes with a really Sweet MSI Repackaging tool. Of course
that can be used now in ZFD3.x setups.
There is a bit of a learning curve between 3.x and ZFD 4.x/ZFD6.x so I
would definately consider playing/learning with the beta.
IMHO, I would not consider a ZFD4.x migration at the moment since ZFD6.5
is SO close and looks very very very good.

  • Using Spiceworks Help Desk with mixed primary smtp email address users

Hello, our current spiceworks help desk environment is configured for ourone domain (we'll call it domain1.com). Everything with help desk works as expected with this domain. We have recentlypurchased a second domain (domain2.com) and configured a few of our users to use domain2.com as their primary email address. They are still using their original AD account, we just chose domain2.com as the primary smtp address. When these users try to create a trouble ticket, spiceworks seems to not recognize them and will not let them create a new ticket. Normally our users are automatically logged in when the go to the help desk portal, with the domain2.com email users spiceworksprompts for theirusername and password. When they enter it in it says that their account has not been activated yet. Is there anything I can do to get around this?Thank...

Until now, a major problem faced by bomb disposal experts was that robots designed to deal with larger bombs didn't have the dexterity to deal with smaller ordinances in tight spaces, like a pipe-bomb under a car; while smaller robots did not have sufficient range, putting operators in danger as they were forced to move closer to dangerous scenes."To get under a car a robot has to be under four inches high; the problem that creates is that the robot can't even get over a curb, and as the antenna is so close to the ground, the range is poor," said managing director Padraig Roche."The Reacher is the first robot in the industry to have a cargo-bay to store a smaller robot designed to get under a car to destroy pipe bombs and the like...Read More

  • After updating Firefox to version 12.0, I can no longer get my web-based help desk software to follow hyperlinks.

Our help-desk is internal, secure website. We have used Firefox for our help desk software browser since we purchased the software. But after updating to version 12, clicking on a hyperlink no longer works but only for the help desk software. Pre-version 12 works fine. External sites are fine. IE executes the help-desk software fine. There is no error, it just never executes the hyperlink. It's like they're text. Where can I start looking? We'd prefer not to go to IE, but we are using it now to get by.

  • Allow help desk to manage open files on file server

I am looking to delegate the ability to manage open files to our help desk users.  They are getting an increasing number of calls from users asking about files and who has them open, or to force close them..etc.
The help desk users are not admins on our file server, therefore do not have access to RDP to the file server.  I was hoping they could do it from computer management RSAT tools on their local machine.  I just don't know how to allow them to do
    it.
    Thanks
    sb

    Hello,
Since they are not able to RDP the FS then they should need to access files using shared folders.
For that, you will need to share the root folder where your files are. Please give Full Control permission on it. Here, to manage their permissions, you can grant them what you want using NTFS permissions.
Note that NTFS and Share permissions are combined and the user will be have the minimum of privileges when he access the folder as a share. For that, I recommended using FC permission on the shared folder to avoid additional management tasks.
