Problems accessing sky's remote record option

Has anyone found a good way to access the sky site in particular the remote record options in the tv guide. They have this fancy javascript based system that is a bit sluggish on a pc/mac but it crashes the iphone based safari. They have an option for a screen reader version which doesnt seem to work but this doesnt on a full computer either so thats a sky problem.
If anyone has found any way around it I would appreciate a post as it would be a useful function to have
Thanks
Nick

TV Plus is now available in iTunes and provides Sky+ Remote Record

  • Problem accessing company resources remotely using Cisco VPN Client

I connect to my company's network remotely using Cisco VPN client both from a PC (v 4.0.1) and from a MacBook Pro (v 4.9.00)(same configs), and use Remote Desktop to connect to my work computer, and now i'm able to use Citrix to run applications on the company server.
The problem occurs on the Mac when I'm connecting from a location that uses the same private domain IP as our company's private domain. Our company's private domain is 192.168.1.x, so when I'm using the Mac on a WiFi router that happens to be set to 192.168.1.1, the Mac can connect using VPN but the remote desktop cannot connect to my work computer. Presumably, the Mac doesn't "know" that I'm trying to go through the VPN for the connection and not connect to something locally.
This problem seems to be unique to the Mac. Every Windows machine with the same client installed has no problems no matter what WiFi I've tried. The Mac works fine on any WiFi that is not 192.168.1.x.
However, since 192.168.1.x is very common (hotels, airports, etc., its a major problem with the Mac.
    Suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Also, now that we're moving to Citrix, our administrator has created a webpage on the intranet that we launch applications from, but the Mac cannot find that page when connected to VPN from 192.168.1.x. Same problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I presume you have split-tunneling activated.
    1. Make sure the 192.168.1.x is on the protected networks and on the MacBook client, disable "Allow local LAN access"
    2. Create a separate group for the Mac users and assgn them a different pool (192.168.100.x )and advertise it in your company to point to the VPN Concentrator.
    3. Use the NAT feature on your VPN concentrator.
    If this helped, please rate.

  • Problem accessing an adjacent remote network over VPN (2 asa5505)

    Hello all,
I have 2 ASA5505 (CORP and remote) connected via VPN. The remote site contains 2 subnets (192.168.1.0/24 and 192.168.0.0/24 (for remote VPN users)). The corp site has 192.168.2.0/24 directly connected to ASA5505 and an adjacent network connected via another device namely the 172.16.0.0/16 network.
    I am able to ping site-to-site between 192.168.0 -> 192.168.2
    and
    192.168.1 -> 192.168.2
I am unable to ping from remote site to the 172.16 network however.
I added permit ACLs on both my NAT and CRYPTO ACLs. and when I am trying to ping the remote 172.16 network I get the following messages on my CORP ASA:

    reply is timing out though.
    Any tips would be appreciated!

  • Problems accessing mails remotely off MS Exchange Server 2003

    Hi
I am trying to access my mails remotely off my companies server webmail while using Safari.
The address is normally as follows . Https://thecompanyservername/exchange
When i type this in the Safari navigation bar its comes up that the page cannot be found
I also have bootcamp installed and when i type in the address when i am in windows mode on internet explorer its takes me to the login page no problem.
My company uses MS Server 2003 . Wondering if its a compatibility problem and if there could be a patch etc
Any advice welcome as to how i can access my mails remotely without having to go into windows mode.
    Thanks

iPhone and iPad use a different way of accessing the server.
I don't know the exact details, but we are using Zarafa instead of Exchange and have the same problem:
iPhone and the likes can connect to Zarafas z-push interface, which is some identical interface to the native Exchange interface, while the desktop e-mail application tries to interface with the web front end (via http) of the server.
These are completely different setups and it depends on the actual installation of the server to get this going.
So, you will most likely need different access parameters for the desktop - and the web mail feature has to be enabled on the Exchange server.
In my opinion using the web mail interface is just silly. On the other hand, the native protocol has less features comparedto the web front end, so you are somehow stuck with sins of the past.
    Good luck!

Would be problems with purchases, billing, and redemption option.  It's not 100% exact to your issue, but it will get you to the right department.

  • Problem while accessing object in remote database

    Hi All,
We have a procedure "UPDATE_CONV_DETAILS" created in the remote databse in the "apps" schema. The synonym for the procedure is created in the billing schema(present in the remote database). A dblink is created the local database through which we are tring to access the remote object "UPDATE_CONV_DETAILS".
    Dblink script:
    create public database link PRE_TO_CEL
    connect to BILLING
    identified by BILLING
    using 'MAP1';
When trying to access the object from the local machine using the schema name.object_name it works fine:
    SQL> DESC APPS.UPDATE_CONV_DETAILS@PRE_TO_CEL
    PROCEDURE APPS.UPDATE_CONV_DETAILS@PRE_TO_CEL
    Argument Name Type In/Out Default?
    IN_MOBILE VARCHAR2 IN
    IN_SERVICE_CODE VARCHAR2 IN
    IN_STATUS VARCHAR2 IN
    OUT_ERROR_CODE NUMBER OUT
But when trying the access the same object using the synonym_name it gives the error:
    SQL> DESC UPDATE_CONV_DETAILS@PRE_TO_CEL
    ERROR:
ORA-04043: object APPS.UPDATE_CONV_DETAILS does not exist
    Regards,
    Kirti

    You have two schema.
    apps
    billing
    both reside in remote database.
there on procedure and on procedure u create one synonym and u want to access it.
ur remote database name is "map1"
on ur local database ur create one dblink to access remote database.
ORA-04043: object string does not exist
Cause: An object name was specified that was not recognized by the system. There are several possible causes:
    - An invalid name for a table, view, sequence, procedure, function, package, or package body was entered. Since the system could not recognize the invalid name, it responded with the message that the named object does not exist.
    - An attempt was made to rename an index or a cluster, or some other object that cannot be renamed.
Action: Check the spelling of the named object and rerun the code. (Valid names of tables, views, functions, etc. can be listed by querying the data dictionary.)

  • Foxtel iQ Remote Record

Foxtel Remote Record allows you to send recording requests directly to your Foxtel iQ set-top unit. From the Online Guide (when viewing on your computer), you can 'drag and drop' programs from the Online Guide's grid view into the Remote Record panel then click on 'Record'. No matter where you are, if you have internet access, you can log onto the Foxtel Online Guide and set the Foxtel iQ to record your favourite shows.
To use Remote Record you'll need to be logged into your My Foxtel Online Account and have your Foxtel from Telstra account linked. If you don't already have a Foxtel Online ID, visit Foxtel's website to sign up. You'll need to provide the number from the Foxtel access card located in your Foxtel iQ set-top box, so we recommend signing up at home.
Use Foxtel iQ Remote Record on your mobile
    Step 1
On your compatible Telstra mobile, access your main menu, then select My Place, then select Foxtel, then select TV Guide
If you have a Windows Phone® 7 device, press the Start button, then tap the Foxtel tile. You will be guided to download the Foxtel TV Guide from the Windows Phone® Marketplace. If you don't have a My Place option on your mobile, open your mobile phone's internet browser to access BigPond Mobile. This can usually be done by pressing the BigPond button on your mobile. When BigPond Mobile has loaded, select Mobile Foxtel, then select TV Guide at Home.
    Step 2
Select the show you wish to record, and then select Record on my iQ. You will then be prompted to enter your Foxtel Web ID details
Use Foxtel Remote Record with the Foxtel online TV guide
    Step 1
If you haven't already done so, register with the Foxtel online TV guide. You'll need your Foxtel smartcard number
    Step 2
On the online TV guide, click the programs you'd like to record, and select Add to Remote Record
    Step 3
Repeat this process until you've selected all the programs you'd like to record
    Step 4
Click Record. This will send a message to your Foxtel iQ or iQHD set-top unit to set the recordings
Common causes of Foxtel iQ Remote Record problems
The storage in your Foxtel iQ box at home is full. You can delete older programs you no longer require to free up some space.
The Foxtel iQ box was not powered on or in standby mode when the program started.
The Foxtel iQ box already was already recording two programs at the same time (three programs for Foxtel iQHD boxes).
The Foxtel iQ recording was cancelled by someone using the Foxtel iQ box at home.
In extreme circumstances, there may be a problem sending your recording request to your Foxtel iQ box.

It doesn't address what I needed help with
i tried recording a show and an error code came up HO-UNP just before that, we were watching a show on foxtel and it turned off automatically and would not respond to control, we reset the box like i was told to do when troubleshooting and now it wont record. we have had to reset it a few times after the lines problem at wooloongaba that affected a big area. thank you for your time! Oh and the phone line is crackly too and i cant use my house phone, havent been able to for a while! Thank you!!

  • Set up remote users in Win 2012 R2 remote server so employees can access their desktop remotely

Hi  we want to get rid of  PC/desktops in house. We are a 10 employee firm.  We want all of them access the server remotely from their own laptop etc.,   They mostly use MS Office and adobe reader etc., very light work.  How can
we set up a virtual desktop for each of the users in the Server. I heard about Remote Desktop Services but not sure how this would work.
we are planning to get a one managed dedicated server from some hosting provider with decent config (say Xeon Server with 8 GB or more RAM with SATA or SAS drives.  If you have any suggestions please feel free to comment on whom to buy. Azure wouldn't
work as we cannot install MS Office App on the remote desktop services VM!).
Do I need a separate server for AD?
Does Win SRV 2012 have option to create remote desktop for users that can log in remotely?. I understand we need RDS CAL no problem,
How can we allow users to store data - what's a best option.. We can attach a SAS/SATA drive that users can map to is one idea.
We plan on getting Office 365 E3 plan that comes with Office Pro Plus. We understand that we need volume license for office to be installed on remote server.   We will be migrating email and sharepoint to O365.
Appreciate if some one could advise how this would work.  Also from backup point of view, what options that we need to consider.
    thank you

    Hi,
If all the users only need to use same applications, you can make the server as the Remote Desktop Session host server (RDSH), install the RD licensing role and install proper
    RDS CALs.
If it is a Windows Server 2012, you can refer to
Deploying the RDS Quick Start deployment type in Windows Server 2012 (for Session Virtualization)
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/10421.deploying-the-rds-quick-start-deployment-type-in-windows-server-2012-for-session-virtualization.aspx
AD is not the requirement for you.
In addition, if you also would like to access the server from Internet, you may need to do one of the following:
    1. Purchase a static public IP address and connect the server to the Internet directly.
    2. Purchase a domain name and bind the IP address of the server to it.
    3. If the server do not connect to Internet directly, you need to configure port forwarding on your router to forward TCP/DUP 3389.
    4. Setup the VPN or RD gateway server.

  • Accessing the very last record in a transparent table.

    Hi!
There's any way to read the last record of a transparent table?
    My problem is:
I have to access the very las record of a Z table because I need the maximun value of a numeric field (that is the first field of the primary key).
I used a SELECT MAX, with no condition , but I was asked to find a more performance solution.
There is any way to access the last record of a table? Something like we have for the internal tables with the READ TABLE INDEX N, but with a select statement?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Yes, that was my first thought, but I made a comparising between both options with SE30.
    Check this numbers:
    TIME:  11,377,702
    select * from t100 into table t_t100.
    sort t_t100 descending.
    read table t_t100 index 1.
    TIME: 954,218
    DATA: MAX_MSGNR type t100-msgnr.
SELECT MAX( MSGNR ) FROM T100 INTO max_msgnr.
    Select MAX is better...
I don't think there is a better solucion... Maybe a big brain here has an idea...
Vasanth, thanks for your quick reply!

Blank Page prints even though "Suppress Printing If No Records" option is thicked.
    My environment:
Crystal Report Developer Full version 11.5.11.1470
    Windows Server 2003 SP2 32-bit.
We have a third party vendor application written in Java -let's call it "print deamon", but my company doesn't have access to the source code.
The print deamon essentially listens to the core application which is located remotely, receive some print instructions such as label name, printer name, crystal reports version (8.5 or 11) and a few parameters that are passed to the crystal report template.
When the version is Crystal Reports 11 and the template is open and query is executed (using Oracle JDBC) and if the template's query does not retrieve any rows, a blank page still prints even though the option to suppress printing is thicked.
With Crystal Reports 8.5 version, we have no issues.
recycling the blank page is not an option in our high volume print environment, these paper and labels are wasted big time, third party vendor says this is an issue with crystal reports XI api.
These are some of the libraries the Print Deamon uses:

Let me know if there's anything we can do before engaging our third party vendor to produce their source code.
    Thank you - Kleber

It's not relavent now is it? Do what ever works in CR XI.
Also you may want to upgrade to CR XI R2. Go to this link: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc and download the trial version of CR XI R2 and use your XI keycode, then apply the patches which you can get to by clicking on the BusinessObjects tab above, then Downloads.
Direct link to the Trial version: http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/freetrials/index.epx
Once updated you can then go to the Keycode site and get a XI R2 keycode to enable oll of the features.
    Thank you

  • Problem accessing another public ip in same subnet

    Hi,
I have searched around for a previous post regarding this but can't find an issue similar to mine (or I'm just too stupid to understand that it is )
I have a Cisco 5505 at a small business that I help. The problem is that the ISP are providing public IPs to multiple customers in a /24 subnet. The ASA has a single public IP configured 8.8.8.8 (not really, just for the examples sake) with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.
The webserver I have to access is not managed by me and is located in a different location (same town though) has 8.8.8.115, it is located in the same subnet as the ASA.
How would I make this work? I have tried to configure a static arp entry for the web server but it just won't work. If i place a computer directly on the outside interface I have no problem accessing the web server.
I am running ASA version 8.2, but I could upgrade if it would help me solve the problem.
Any help with this issue is much appreciated.

The ISP only specify one gateway in that range and that is 8.8.8.1 so any other would not let me access internet.
Once again thank you for your time.
