Time costraint on Cost Center (K) relationships

Hi everybody.
I would ask for your help about the following problem I'm not able to solve :
I defined a new relationship, linking the object K (Cost Center) to a new object I created (ZE).
The new relationship is defined as B992 (bottom-up). This relationship should link one Cost Center to only one new object, so I set the Time Constraint for this relation to 2.  The other way relationship (top-down) A992 is set to 3, since I could link one new object to more than one Cost Center.
In the view V_T777ZIT I have the line :
K 1001 Relationships B992 Cost Center assignment 2
The problem is :
the system does not perform any check on the unique assignment of a Cost Center to an object ZE and a multiple assignment is allowed.
Have you any idea about the reason of this ?
Thanks a lot for any help.
Francesco

In order to use this table you should have K 1001 B992 3 in table T777Z.
Define Time Constraint Depending on Target Object Type
In this step, you define alternative time constraints for relationships depending on the target object type.
Example
A position in your enterprise can be described by only one job (target object type "C") but by as many tasks as required (target object type "T").
Requirements
You should have already carried out the step Maintain relationships and entered the value "3" for the time constraint of the corresponding relationship.
Standard settings
The standard SAP R/3 system contains a number of predefined time constraints that are target object type-dependent.
Recommendation
It is recommended that you use the time constraints supplied.
Activities
Define you own target object type-dependent time constraints if necessary.
Further notes
The assignment of additional conditions for this function may only be carried out by SAP since it is equivalent to a program modification.

  • Restriction of Time-dependent data (Cost Center) according to a specific role

    Dear experts,
Has some one of you implemented a functionality to restrict Time-dependent data (for example, Cost Center) edition, according to a specific role assigned to an End user?
I imagine it is possible, but we should develop an User-exit in order to get this goal.
Let your comments here if possible, so that I can argue with my End user. I will try to give you points if you help me with this query.
    Thanks & Kind Regards,
    Daniel.

    Hello All!
We have talked to Authorizations specialist and he indicated a customizing transaction in FI-AA module called ANSICHT (IMG -> Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Preparing for Production Startup -> Authorization Management -> Process Asset Views). In this customizing, it is possible to edit an existing asset view and turn on/off fields according to the company needs.
Afterwards, you should request some adjustment in the roles that contain the A_A_VIEW authorization object.
I am considering this question as "assumed answered'.

  • Authorization for Time Entry on Cost Center Level

    Hi Experts,
Would like to know, if we can do authorisation for time entry on the base of cost center. For example, an employee worked for 8 hrs and out of that 2 hrs worked for different cost center. That 2 hrs should be approve by Manager of that cost center and 6 hrs from his current cost center.
I thought of Structural Authorisation but not sure how it will work. I would appreciate prompt response on the same.
    Thanks,
    Aashish

I was pointing out [the rules|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/rulesofEngagement] about requesting "promptness" from what is a voluntary effort here to help each other and help those who first try to help themselves (keyword: "search").
Actually, I noticed that you had cross-posted this thread to the HCM forum. Normally, we move threads to other forums which are more appropriate, and often lock cross-posting. This is one of those grey areas between technical and functional, so I turned a blind eye on it.
I am hoping that there will be a functionality to mirror good questions to other related forums without having to cross-post. This would be very usefull for sure but the question would have to be good and the person who asked it would have to have a good track record of respecting [the rules|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/rulesofEngagement]. Most likely moderators would be the only ones to "mirror" good questions, unless they contain words such as "urgent" or "ASAP" or "prompt" or "points will be rewarded", etc...

  • Why time-dependent not work for cost center and profit center hierarchy

Has anybody been able to successfully turn on time-dependent for cost center hierarchy? Looks like the R/3 datasource 0COSTCENTER_0101_HIER is defaulted to be NOT time-dependent, and I don’t know how to change the R/3 configuration to enable time-dependent for this datasource.
Here is what I found. If you go to RSA2 in R/3 and enter datasource 0COSTCENTER_0101_HIER, and then select "Hierarchy Info", you will see that all the time-dependent properties are unchecked by default. By comparison, Cons Unit datasource 0CS_UNIT_CSCU_HIER has “Version Dependent Hierarchy” as selected, and we are able to load Cons Unit hierarchy as time-dependent, but have no luck so far with the Cost Center hierarchy.
Can any BI guru tell me how I can make time-dependent work for the cost center hierarchy?
    Thanks a bunch!

    Check SETLEAF and SETNODE.
Basically CO Master data groups dont have seperate tables. They will be available in above tables. Choose proper Set class to filter the results

  • Approach on Cost Center for Vehicles

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to analyze the cost and profit of the vehicles internally. These vehicles can be assigned from one plant to another every month. Right now the setup for cost centers is grouped by the company site only. What is the best approach on this requirement?
I have listed some solution and one of the approach was to create cost centers for each vehicle. So for each vehicle counting at around 200 should be maintained in the cost center hierarchy. Is this the best possible solution?
Also what about the Report that shows the cost center vehicles profit and loss? it should show under a specific cost center group but because of the behavior of the vehicle cost center, every time the vehicle cost center is reassigned to another cost center group, it should also show in the report that it has been maintained in the right cost center in that duration. So the report will reflect the cost center under cost center group A, example last month and another cost center group B, this month.
Also I am considering Profit Center but I am not familiar with the idea.
Please help on this solution. Thank you so much.

    Hi
    1. I am not sure how your vehicles are going to earn revenue.. From your question, I assume yours is a mfg concern, then how and why does the profitability of vehicles is important for your business, unless yours is a transport business.. Correct my understanding, incase wrong
    2. Cost centers (CC) would not be the right approach... You cant post revenues in a cost center... They can be posted only statistically in a CC
    3. Use Internal Orders (IO).. In IO Type (T Code KOT2_OPA), allow for revenue postings as well.
    4.
    a. Your numbering of the IOs can be same as vehicle no for the sake of simplicity.
    b. Or Else, you can capture your vehicle no in any of the free fields and create a New Search (F4) help based on this field in T code OKO1...
    c. Or Else, you can create new fields for IO to capture Vehicle no, include them in Structure CI_AUFK. For this use exit COOPA003
    5. Once you post your costs and revenues in IOs, you can derive prof reports either from standard IO reports or create a new one using report painter
    6. Now Coming to your question of identifying the vehicles under plants in which they were under a certain period - I would suggest to drop this requirement. However, if you still want to have it, then maintain a Z table in which you have fields like IO, Plant, Dates From and To. Based on this info, you need to create an ABAP report

  • Concept of CO- PA cost center assessment

    Hi Experts,
I would like to ask if you could supply me with more info about the concept of cost center cost assessment in COPA. Is this a standard procedure that must done? I am having my 1st SAP implem. and have been preparing too hard to get much info. as I can take about COPA. I have understanding about value fields an characteristics BUT I am having a hard time to understand cost center allo. and why do is there a need to do it (or maybe not). Aren't they supposed to be an automatic process (distribution of figures to COPA reports)? Thanks and I would understand if the question may sound a little unclear.

    Hi,
The cost center assessment to copa comes in places only for allocating the common costs.
Generally, we do allocate the common costs from the common cost center to the respective user cost centers in the overhead accounting.
If the need is to recognise the common overheads directly in COPA, then instead of reallocating the costs with in cost center accounting, we directly transfer the costs to copa thru costcenter assessment to copa.

  • Cost Center assignment in OM

    Hi Friends,
Can anyone tell me the difference between Master Cost Center, Cost Distribution, Account Assignment Feature.
    Thanks
    Shravani
Edited by: shravani kannam on Jun 5, 2008 2:24 PM

Master cost center to be assigned to Root Organisation Unit.
PP01  Select the Root Org Unit and assign a cost center in Relationships A 011
Cost distribution should be given in 0027 infotype.  Here you can assign whether the employee costs to be distributed in two cost centers.  In case if an employee works 15 days in Hyderabad and 15 days in Bangalore.
Account assignment features should be given in 1008 infotype.  Here you will default Co.Code, Per Area etc.,
I think with this you will have some idea.
    Please award points.

  • Org Unit to Cost center relationship issue

    Hi All,
When I assign a Cost center to an Org Unit, i dont have any issues and got created. But when I assign the same Cost center to a different Org Unit, it delimits the previous Org relationship and creates the new one.
I checked the Relationship A011 time constraint and it is 2 which is with gaps.
This is strange and should not work in this way.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Cost center relationship in PCH logical database

    Hi Experts .
According to what I knew theoretically ,
External objects such as cost centers or users do not store data in the PCH logical database .
But I created a position and Idid a cost assignment using relationship A11 to a cost center and went to SE36 and ran PCH for the selection of current plan version and object type K and object id of the cost center .
After running for the evaluation path KOSTDIUP ( Account assignment usage ) , I could see the relationship of cost center with the earlier created position .
So if relationships of cost center are not supposed to be in PCH logical database , then how come I can see the above result ?
    Thanks
    Rishabh

This logical database generally enables you to report on all HR infotypes. However, you are advised not to use this logical database unless you want to report on Personnel Planning data.
The Organizational Management uses the PCH logical database
so S-Position is an object in OM, you can see the relationship.
correct me if i am wrong !!

  • Change to cost center in time dependent data. Can I rerun depreciation YTD?

I need to change the cost center in October (Period 10) Period 9 and prior are already closed.  I thought that since I put the Interval for the new cost center as 1/1/11 that it might do and adjustment in October reversing the depreciation posted for the old cost center and put the YTD depreciation in the new cost center, but it did not.  it only posted the current month depreciation to the new cost center.  Is there any way to do this?  Thank you very much.

Hi.  Thanks for your reply.  I went into the ABAA screen, but I am afraid to process this transaction because I do not understand what is going to happen.  I cannot find any documentation that explains this.  I have already changed the cost center on the asset and run depreciation.  It posted the current month depreciation to the new cost center, but it did not make a correction to the prior periods.  I am not creating a new asset, i just want to reclass the prior months depreciation (in the current year) to the new cost center.  In case it will help I provide some details:
Asset acquired 5/1/11 Depreciation posted to Cost Center A From May - Sept $1,796.06 per month x 5 = $8,980.30
Before posting Oct depreciation, I went to Master Data - Time Dependent - and changed the cost center as of 1/1/11. So I now have two intervals: From 1/1/1900-Cost Center A, and From 1/1/11 - Cost Center B. I then ran the regular depreciation for Oct. It posted Oct Depreciation of $1,796.06 to the new Cost Center-Cost Center B.  My total YTD depreciation is now $10,776.36, but it is split between two cost centers.  I need to move the depreciation from Cost Center A to Cost Center B for the prior months.  If it was a Journal Entry, I would do it as follows in the month of October, so my YTD numbers would be correct.
Debit Depreciation Cost Center B   $8,980.30
Credit Depreciation Cost Center A $8,980.30
Then when I run my October numbers it would show zero depreciation in Cost Center A Year To Date (and negative 8,980.30 in month of October)
If i follow the steps you propose, what would be the result?  Thanks so much!

  • CATS Time Entry - Charging time to a different cost center

We are looking at using CATS for time entry for our salaried non-exempt employees.  Some of these employees charge their overtime to a different cost center.  For example, normally their overtime is charged to their own cost center but periodically they help another group and need to charge the overtime to the other group's cost center.  In the CATS profile where you select the fields you want to be available for input, display, etc., I see cost center as an option.  However, when I select it as a field for input, it does not appear on the timesheet.  I see there are other cost center fields (receiver cost center, sender cost center) but I thought these had more to do with work orders (not sure of that, though) and work orders are not used for this group of people.  Currently, the time is being charged to an alternate cost center when the time administrator enters the overtime via PA30 and then selects the 'Cost assignment' button to record the appropriate cost center. I would appreciate any information/guidance you can provide.  Thank you.

    Hi Kathleen,
We are trying to do the same thing so I understand exactly what you are asking.  We made the sender cost center field an input field via the IMG - Cross-Applications Components> Time Sheet> Time Recording> Choose fields> - select data entry section and look for sender cost centre - field name CATSD-SKOSTL - ensure "input" is selected.
Eventhough we have been able to enter an alternative cost center with an attendance (i.e., different from the employee's cost center saved on IT0001), it is not being transferrred to HR (does not appear on attendance infotype) therefore payroll does not pick-up the cost center with the attendance hours and it is not posted to FI.  Payroll continues to use the employee's home cost center.
Have you been able to get any further with this issue?

  • Issue making Cost Center Hierarchy Time Dependent

    Hi,
We have three hierarchies on top of cost center and cost center was not time-dependent. There is a new requirement to make one of the hierarchies time dependent. To faclitate it, I changed the hierarchy property in cost center infoobject to "Hierarchy structure is time-dependent" and then loaded the hierarchy. It took the validity dates of 1.1.1000 to 31.12.999. A costcenter was changed from one node to another in ECC and was extracted into BI. As time-dependency is set, I thought that node will have two entries now one with validity period 1.1.1000 to 30.10.2009 and another with 31.10.2009 to 31.12.999. But instead the hierarchy was overwritten and only the latest change is refelcted.
Can someone please help in figuring out the issue. Should some change be done in ECC for time-dependency to reflect.
    Thanks
    Achyuta

    Hey Achyuta,
The hierarchy needs to be time dependent in the source system and then the datasource for the time dependent hierarchy would then need to be replicated again.  You'll know if it's right after the replication if you view the datasource in BW and the Data is Time Dependent check box is checked on the General Info Tab.  Once the datasource is time-dependent, loads should populate the DateTo and DateFrom as you expect.  Consult your R/3 expert if you need help over on the source system side.

  • Cost center  & company code relationship

    Hi All,
How many company codes can be assigned to a cost center? In Cost center master record there is an option to enter company code.
If we mention company code there, does that mean that cost center is valid to only that particular company code?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Reema,
Though the Cost Center is part of Controlling Area hierarchy; Cost Center is used predominently to trace the Costs pertaining to a Company Code. In real-time scenario most often a Cost Center is assigned to One Company Code only. That is why in Field Status for Cost Center Master Data you will make assignment of Company Code a Required entry.

  • Is there any config for plant-cost center relationship

looks like our new cost center is not defaulting on the PO accounting document. Is there someplace I should have set-up a plant/cost center relationship?
    Thanks in advance
    Satya

    Hi Satya,
You cannot directly assign a Cost Center to a Plant. But indirectly yes. A Cost Center is assigned to a Profit Center, a Profit Center is assigned to Material Master and the Material Master to a Plant.
    Hope this clarifies.

  • Cost center relationship with department

    Hi experts,
I have one question to ask about cost center relationship.Let say one department use only one cost-center. Is it I have to key-in the relationship between department and cost-center only or I have to key -in all the position in that department with the cost-center.If I don't keyin the relationship between position and cost center, how about the report. It will automatically appear or not.

    HI MJ,
Please assign the Org Unit to a Cost Center using A011 Relationship through IT1001.
Secondly, the principle of Inheritance works here.....i.e.
IF you have assigned a O-K relationship at the Org Unit Level, all the reporting Org Units & Positions will inherit the Same Parent Cost Center........except in cases where the O-K / S-K Relationship is changed for any other org Units...or Positions... in such cases, the reporting org units or positions will inherit that.....
Cost center assignments are inherited along the organizational structure.
    Hope it is clear...
    Good Luck !!!!
