Work centre hierarchy

HI to all,
I have created work centre hierarchy with three work centre having 24 hrs capacity each. from this hrchy i have used the superior work centre in the routing.so when i create the production order how i can use the  cumulative capacity (72 hrs) of subordinate work centres to reduce the scheduling time.

You can cumulate available capacities from subordinate work centers to a superior work center level in order to determine the total available capacity for the superior work center.
In your factory you have several lathes. You create a higher-level work center, called "Machine center 3", which you use to cumulate the available capacity of several lathes.

    Please look for the information on Cost Center via B1 online help.
    1. Financials->Cost Accounting->Define Cost Center Hierarchy, here
    you can define a new template as you need, add department as
    Slibling and add various expenses/revenues as the Child to relevant
    department.
    2. Financials->Cost Accounting->Profit Center - Report-> Select the
    Dimension used in the template from the drop down list then tick the
    radio button before 'Template' and select the template you have defined,
    then click 'OK'.
    Link between cost center hierarchy and chart of accounts:
    First of all, you define the various cost centers or departments in your
    company as profit centers.
    Then assign revenue and expense accounts to the profit centers so that
    any data relevant to a profit center can
    be updated automatically for all transactions entered in the system.
    (This is where we have a link between chart of accounts and cost center
    hierarchy).
    Costs are allocated to the profit centers using information that you
    define in a distribution rule. This means that any costs incurred willbe
    allocated to the profit centers on the basis of a specific key.
    If you decide that the way in which costs are allocated no longer
    reflects the way in which your company works, you simply change the
    distribution rule as required.

    how to evaluate the OEE (overall equipment efficieny)?

    CR05 - Work Center List
    CR06 - Cost Center Assignment
    CR07 - Work Center Capacity
    CR08 - Work Center Hierarchy
    with this you can get the requirment,available and overlaod of the capacity
    OEE cannot be directly calculated you can develop the custom based program to calulate the one with available input,( available hrs,down time hrs)

    Hi Experts,
    We want to maintain the capacity of work centre can you please answer the following :
    1.We have created workcenter such as AUTO at second level & AUTO-WELD,AUTO-FITT on third level in Hierarchy.
    Could you tell me how I have to maintain the capacity, should i maintain on third level or second level basically what is the process of maintaining capacity to work centre.
    2.If i maintain capacity only on third level could i see the total capacity on second level of hierarchy summation of welder & fitter workcentre .
    3.IF I Have one engineer common for  4 welder  & 4 fitter under the AUTO-WELD & AUTO-FITT workcenter, what could be the indual capacity 5 or 4 for one workcentre.Here ,should i consider engineer also for both the workcenter or should i skip this engineer for both workcentre.

    Operations are carried out at a work center. In the R/3 System work centers are business objects that can represent the following real work centers, for example:
    Machines, machine groups
    Production lines
    Assembly work centers

Work centers are used in task list operations and work orders. Task lists are for example routings, maintenance task lists, inspection plans and standard networks.   • Work centre capacity utilization

    Dear guru ,
    i have a work centre that always work in the same moment for 3 different production order.
    If my total daily available capacity is 11 hours for my 1 individual capacity is right that I assign to the work centre a capacity utilization of 300 percent in order to have a daily available capacity of 33 hours and I can use capacity levelling in the best way ?
    Or there is other better solution for solving this problem ?

    Name of the node of the next level in the structure above the Pofit centre, name of the node of the next level in the structure above the node in first level, name of the node of the next level in the structure above the node in second level.

    But this is not what i was looking for. Actually i am writing a interface program to download Profit centre master data and this profit centre hierarchy information to CRM program.
    That is why i need the table name where i can see all the information related to hierarchy if possible.
    Please provide your views / suggestions.

    Hello Friends
    For better view of Profit Centre Reports we are planing to change the Profit Centre Hierarchy.
    I wanted to know that, are there some Specific Points which we have to take care of, before changing the Hierarchy?
    Will some other settings get affected in System after changing the Hierarchy?
    Also i want to know the TCode for entering Profit Centre Budget in System.

    Hi,
    Profit centre planning (there is no budget for profit centres) is entered via 7KE1 transaction. If you change your hierarchy you should think of the effect on your reporting and allocation processes. That is if you use certain group in your cost allocation cylce and now you change it, it might have an effect on costs distribution.

    I am trying to create a new work centre based on the settings of a previous one? First of all,how I can do this?
    Secondly,after I have created the new work centre (having copied being copied from another),I need to create a new production Scheduler and Cost Centre? How I will be able to do so,also?Will the Production Scheduller and Cost Centre assignments fom the old work centre be copied,too,or I will need to create/copy these from scratch?

    Hello,
    You can create a new work center by copying an existing work center. in the cr01 screen in the copy from column put the plant name and Ref. work center name and put enter. all the existing data will be copied to the newly created work center. no need to create new assignment to  Production Scheduller and Cost Center.

    I have a question regarding work centres. Our department is managing a pool of workers which consist of employee from more than one plant. Somebody had made experience concerning this issue?
    Furthermore we have to manage external workers as capacity. How can I build up this in SAP?

    Dear PP Gurus,
      I have included the following screen
    0420: Personnel: incl work center and posting date  in the confirmation profile, so that the user can change the work centre at the time of confirmation. However the user wants that there should be a check where in only the workcentres which are used in parallel to be allowed for the perticular operation.
    Please guide how to achieve this? Can we have a check thorugh any of the user exit below:
    CONFPP02  PP order conf.: Customer specific input checks 1
    CONFPP03  PP order conf.: Cust. specific check after op. selection
    CONFPP04  PP order conf.: Customer specific input checks 2
    CONFPP05  PP order conf.: Customer specific enhancements when saving
    Eg.
    For operation 0020 the user may perform the confirmations on Weld1 /Weld2 /Weld 3 machine. Now the system will allow to select any work centre other than these three. That may lead to wrong confirmation. The user wants to restrict the work centres to be selected to these three only. These three machines are mentioend as parallel sequence in the routing.

    We have four activity type to assigned in workcentre Costing Activity. Details are as under

    SULZER     2010     SULZER
    in addition one more loom is comming in our unit and require new activity type.

    Dear ,
    To create new Activity Type  , you need to follow the below steps :
    KA01 - Create Primary Cost Element for the new activities type.
    KL01 - Create Activity Type tied to the primary cost element. 
    KP26 - Change Activity Type/Activity Price Planning - maintain the Variable price
    Assign the activity type to cost center using T code KP26.
    In the input screen of T code KP26 ,enter version as 0, from period 1 and to period as 12 and the Fiscal Year as 20xx.
    Click on Overview tab on top and key in costing details in this screen.
    After performing this ,while creating the work center ,this combination of activity type & cost center should be assigned.
    At work centre level , you should have
    1.Create Standrad Value Key -OP19 and Formula Key in OP49.
    2.Create Formula Parameters in OP7B or u can use existing one to assing in the Standard Value Key
    3.In CR02-Assing the Standard value key in Basic Data  and select the Formula Key in Costing tab with cost centre assingement .Save

    1. To assign Work Center the T-code is PO01.
    2. Yes. In SAP HR every employee has to be given Personnel Number irrespective of their designations.
    3. No its not possible according to me (Gurus Pls correct me too if I am wrong)

  • Activity type in work centre

    Hi,all,
    I have a requirement as mentioned below-
    I have certain pm work center like engineer,fitters.But under engineer i have 3 different activity type like Sr.engineer time,Asst.engineer time,Jr.engineer time.I have assigned all these 3 activity type in my work centre in cost tab page along with standard formula SAP008.Now , my requirement is when I assign this work center in my equipment or maintenance order ,in operation tab pages of maintenance order ,only these three activity type should flow from where I want to select my relevant activity type.But instead of this,all the activity type around 10 nos whatever defined by CO consultant , is flowing to my order from where i need to select.I want only those 3 activity type which I had defined in my work center.can anybody please explain how to fulfill my requirement.thanks in advance.

    you can make the default cost element by creating the external profile in IMG and assigning to the order type ,also in easy access screen during order creation you can mention as default values in the menu Extras>settings>default values
    As per what cost element has to be specified kindly consult with the CO team,regarding the mandatory field may be you have specified the fields as mandatory in IMG settings,kindly check
